Leftists have spent much of the afternoon criticizing and mocking Rep. Todd Akin, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Missouri, who made poorly-worded comments about “legitimate rape.”
Alas, a few Twitter users are taking it too far:
Todd Akin should be shipped to an island with the booty bandit for the rest of his life.

Why doesn't someone rape Todd Akin and see if he was right?

Someone shld 'legitimately rape' Todd Akin -> Rep. Senate Nominee: Victims Of ‘Legitimate Rape’ Don’t Get Pregnant http://t.co/ilDXKk5b

I'm going to rape Todd Akin and insist it wasn't legitimate because he didn't get pregnant.

It is fine to call out Akin for scientifically-inaccurate remarks.
However, to suggest (even in jest) that Akin or his family members ought to be raped is beyond the pale.
