Michelle Goldberg's faux-pology to Ann Romney

After Michelle Goldberg compared Ann Romney’s praise for mothers to that of history’s worst totalitarian dictators and faced a huge Twitter backlash, she is back with a supposed apology. Of course, she isn’t apologizing to Ann Romney. No, she’s apologizing to liberals.

I’m truly sorry to have given the right a pretext for another tedious spasm of feigned outrage. I’m especially sorry if I’ve done anything to strengthen the conservative myth that liberals disdain motherhood.

Naturally, conservative tweeps didn’t like Goldberg’s fake apology nonsense.

Of course, liberal tweeps had a very different take on Goldberg’s faux-pology. Apparently, comparing Ann Romney’s op-ed to Nazi propaganda makes her a progressive feminist hero of some sort. ‘Cuz wimmin rule!
