Trump suggested it back in December.
“I’m thinking about making Ivanka vice president,” he said.
Back then it was a joke. Choosing his daughter as VP would be crazy, audacious, unprecedented. He quickly added, “I’m kidding, I’m kidding.”
But people started coming around to the idea.
Last week, Sen. Bob Corker suggested it:
His best running mate, by the way, would be Ivanka. I know that wouldn’t pass muster, probably. But I don’t know that I’ve met a more composed, brilliant, beautiful-in-every-way person.
Eric Trump agreed, saying, “She’s got my vote.”
.@EricTrump: Ivanka certainly has my vote for VP, she's a machinehttps://t.co/q9oP4gzzWy

Was it something in the water? Or was the idea not so crazy after all?
Think about: The left is scared of her because she throws a wrench in the narrative that Trump is a crazy chauvinist. The media tries to paint all Trump supporters as stupid and bigoted, yet Ivanka is a brilliant, accomplished woman who supports Trump.
Ivanka as VP would also legitimize his anti-establishment brand. Ann Coulter worries that Trump will pick an insider politician like Newt Gingrich to try to appease the Republican party, but he doesn’t need to do that.

“He’s starting a new party! He’s just blown up the old GOP.”
Ivanka has none of the baggage of career politicians. As a smart, accomplished outsider, Ivanka is really the smartest choice at this point.
@IvankaTrump would be AWESOME pick for VP! BRILLIANT woman, excellent business head, busy mom. I think she’d say no. https://t.co/d6X0SCd18x
