For the second time this year, New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg failed to impose his leftist schemes on the state of Colorado when voters rejected a billion dollar tax scheme under the guise of improving schools. In August, Nanny Bloomberg dumped $350,000 in the failed attempt to defeat the recall of two gun-grabbing Colo. state senators, and now he’s lost another million dollars trying to foist higher taxes on the people of Colorado. They yelled back loudly tonight. With 91% of precincts reporting, the ballot initiative is losing 66-34.

Other out-of-state contributors to Amendment 66 included the National Education Association ($2 million), Bill and Melinda Gates ($1 million) and The Emerson Collective, a charity founded by Steve Jobs’ widow, Laurene Powell Jobs ($100,000). As of October 28, the  main Amendment 66 opposition committee reported raising a total of $24,400 during the entire campaign period.

Good for you, Colorado! Good for you…

    • GaryTheBrave

Yep, I think Colorado is going back to the Conservative column. Now if we can find a true conservative to challenge Sen. Udall next year.

      • Janice LEE

I am sure that the recent recall and the defeat of 66 has put the fear of recall into certain left left leaning dems in office in CO.
They are not stupid, they see what can befall them if they continue their leftward tilt.

      • Slugglife

Don’t get ahead of yourself. There are still plenty of progressives there.

    • IMPEACH_BOBO

How right you are too fuzzlenutter, this is the same state that just booted 2 Dems with a recall who supported gun control, GOOD FOR YOU Colorado !!! I think our voting process has to be revamped, there is way too much voter fraud going on out there with these ballots we have right now that can NOT be traced back to the person who filled it out, that right there is prime breeding ground for voter fraud !!!!

If the election process was free of voter fraud, we would NOT be dealing with these FLEEBAGGING [email protected] to begin with, they would never be voted in from the start !!! Now look at what happened in Virginia, they put in a fake Libertarian who soaked up the votes that would have gone to the Republican, you saw how close the number were when just a couple weeks ago the FLEEBAGGERS said it was going to be a landside for the Dem !!! What happened last night was a warning to FLEEBAGGERS, you FLEEBAGGERS are going to pay a heavy price for the RAClST BOBOcare & there isn’t a thing you can do about it now !!!!!!

      • Kait

Are you referring the the democrat Obama bundler sponsoring the libertarian candidate to pull votes away from the republican? I do wish that people would give some thought to not wasting their vote on someone who cannot possibly win, but the republican candidates need to be a bit more freedom oriented, or we continue on our current path.

    • Slugglife

Too bad it takes being on the verge of losing second amendment rights to wake Americans up. We will have to stop letting it get to this. Of course, all the left has to do is run a libertarian “candidate” and they can get anybody they want elected.

  • GaryTheBrave

Bloomberg, we don’t want your eastern moolah in our state. (Take notes, Trump.)

    • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

      I think Donald Trump would rather bring jobs to Colorado (by opening Casinos, Golf Courses, and Apartment Buildings) than rally for higher taxes from afar…. Just sayin.. Jawamax 8<{D}

      • Spiny Norman

Trump wants to make money, Bloomie wants to control yours.

  • Janice LEE

Bloomberg was so obnoxious and personally disliked that his legacy is DeBlasio.

  • JeffWRidge

I guess all the tax hikes in Colorado went to pot.

    • Mrs. Patriot

Remember: If you tax it more, you get less of it.

  • http://www.lidsamy.com/ Lidsamy

good on you Colorado!! Chase those carpetbaggers outta your state!

  • wwbdinct

Can someone please explain to me why they just don’t donate all this money to the Colorado school system rather than use it to run a campaign to have taxes raised for the average citizen of Colorado? Doesn’t that make more sense?

    • Creel Otters

To most people, yes. To a liberal, no. They’d rather that YOU donated YOUR money by force, instead.

      • wwbdinct

So basically, they’ve just pissed away (pardon my choice of word but I couldn’t think of another more elegant way of saying it) milllions and millions of dollars for nothing. Think of the real good causes that money could have gone to. I just don’t understand and never will. And I don’t understand why these people are fixated on Colorado of all places. Detroit, Chicago…..aren’t these places in dire need of help?

        • Creel Otters

          Yes. See my previous reply.

And “pissed away” is completely apropos.

        • Kait

Yeah, but all the help that goes there ends up not helping. It’s not about dumping money to help people, it’s about problem solving. Different. Help the people help themselves, not throw free stuff at them. All that does is make them dependent on continual free stuff.

        • garysvent

They are not interested in good causes; they are interested in inculcating socialist tyranny in America.

    • BeautifulAmerica

      That’s a great idea.
Bloomie & Gates take note; in fact, hire this guy!
Sadly, Tragically, neither want logical and good ideas. Their single, driving goal isn’t “helping,” but rather “establishing”, as in New World Order for Elites Only/Themselves.

      • wwbdinct

Time to start living life from the inside….If you listen to Dennis Miller, that’s the advice he’s been giving people since the election last year.

        • BeautifulAmerica

Just now read your answer. What did you mean by that?

    • Mrs. Patriot

The money was “kept in the house” so to speak, because it went to dem operatives on the ground, dem advertising and printing agencies, etc. They would never hand it to a conservative school board, even though that school district is garnering national acclaim for excellence and drawing people nationwide who want to send their kids to school there.
Douglas County, CO is one of the richest counties in the nation. It’s also very conservative. It was never about the kids. It was about unions getting control of one of the richest school districts in the country so they could steal money from conservatives and “redistribute” it to liberals.

      • http://azconservativerants.blogspot.com/ erehwon

It is also the county where John Ransom the editor of TownHall Finance lives. He was actively engaged in getting the education unions thrown out of their schools. So he’s not just a great columnist, but an active fighter for what we believe in.

    • Edward Johnson

Yes but remember we are dealing with progressives and their goal is power and control not to help people. Socialism in the past century has failed every were it has been tried. It is responsible for over 100 million deaths and caused an incredible amount of Human suffering but do Progressives care no they want their money and power.

    • yourpaled

Ah, that makes logical sense, but do you think for one moment that libturds use logic? All they know is how to win by spending MONEY. Once they’re in, they can pocket all of it back and then some.

  • DWAAP

    What a loser!

    • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

      “LITTLE BIG DIC(K)TATOR”…

      FIFY! Jawamax 8<{D}

  • Republicanvet

    Millions vs $24,000.

Looks to be a clear view of what we Coloradans wanted.

Here’s hoping the raging liberals in Boulder are scared.

  • Garym

We defeated that piece of crap amendment, but here in Mesa County (one of the most conservative counties in the state), 3 commies were elected to the school board. WTF!

    • nc ✓s & balances

They’re like an STD you just can’t shake.

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    For the THIRD TIME this year, HERR BLOOMBERG (SEIG HEIL!) Was defeated after sticking his nose in Colorado Politics….As they used to say back in the Seventies, “NOT TOO SHABBY!” BONUS:HE’s out in New York City (FINALLY!); unfortunately, he’s been replaced by a “Progressive” (read:COMMUNIST LIBERAL SOCIALIST MARXIST…. #RushLimbaugh)… Jawamax 8<{D}

  • DouginCO

Yeah, but he backed McAuliffe in VA and won there. It’s a multi-front war.

    • flagmantexasmarine

Yea and the people of VA are about to get a big shock
they are not going to like

    • JohnFLob

More than likely it was the Obamabots that are registered to vote in VA just protecting their “free lunch” quote-unquote jobs.

      • yourpaled

Judging by what the BIG turnout of voters was, you’re absolutely right. You must remember that the same voters are spread in droves in the big cities too.

  • littleones

Stay diligent, they will keep coming back with this kind of $hite.

  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmSIOoy6MlE&app=desktop Booker

Not bad day in the Rockies.

  • $19550990

Gee, if this keeps up, I might have to move back.

  • Kait

I had no idea until yesterday that Bloomberg was a Republican governor???? Nothing I heard about him was conservative in any way shape or form. YAY for Colorado!!!!!! I hope Bloomie spends all his moola on fruitless campaigns and gets to learn to live on less. Like a regular guy. Maybe then he’d learn something.

  • interestedobserver2

    Way to got Colorado!

  • garysvent

According to the end notes, many out-of-state millionaires and billionaires are gathering together in these asinine efforts to increase the tax burden on citizens. It is as if they are together devising a way to keep the rest of us out of “their” club by making sure no one else gets ahead. Taxation has become a way to keep the restless natives from having any real power to effect the direction of their governance.

  • Andre Dufour

Bloomberg, along with ANY individual attempting to meddle in political affairs in a state that isn’t their own, ESPECIALLY as a foreign elected official should be in prison for these manipulations. The Constitution is designed to allow the people of individual states to have the sovereign ability to decide on these matters. Bloomberg is a traitor, his money has no place in Colorado political affairs, and he should be treated like the domestic terrorist (I do not use that word lightly) he is.

  • CasualMeyhem

Horrible thought. Is he planning to move here?

  • right_on

They won’t need the billion $ tax hike if news reports are correct. A 25 percent tax on marijuana sells will take care of any deficit, due to the large population of toakers in the state, right? (giggle)

  • Southern fried

WHy is Bloomberg so obsessed with Colorado?

  • SameJerkDifferentName

Since these ding-dongs have so much money, why don’t they stop putting it into a loser like 66 and just pony up the dough ‘for the children’ themselves?

That’s a rhetorical question, everyone (with any brains) already knows the answer.

  • Karin_A

H5, CO. If I lived there, I would have voted against it just because of this out-of-state interference. What is his deal with CO? It’s creepy, like he’s stalking.
