Many of those accusing Michelle Fields of lying about being grabbed by Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski pointed to a lack of video evidence.
Which raises a question: How will they explain this?
The video indeed appears to show Lewandowski reaching out and grabbing Fields. Bear in mind: Just last night, Lewandowski not only denied touching Fields, but he also denied ever meeting her. This footage appears to contradict that statement (which contradicted his earlier admission that he grabbed Fields after “mistaking her for an adversarial member of the mainstream media”*).
Breitbart’s Joel Pollak offered up a … different take (of which Lewandowski approves):
But that’s not what other tweeters are getting from the video at all.
Editor’s note: This post has been updated with additional text and tweets.
*Regarding Lewandowski’s earlier admission that he had grabbed Fields after mistaking her for an “adversarial” reporter, ex-Breitbart spokesman Kurt Bardella — who has resigned — had this to say:
He also added that Corey Lewandowski had not, as had been previously reported, admitted to the assault. In a text message exchange with Breitbart’s Matt Boyle, Bardella said, Lewandowski only said he didn’t know Fields was a Breitbart reporter and would look into the situation.
Oh boy …
Breitbart is now at least acknowledging that the video makes it look like Lewandowski grabbed Fields.
