Superstar guerilla journalist James O’Keefe spends a lot of time in the trenches, shining much-needed sunlight on leftist hypocrisy and fraud. But this afternoon, he shifted gears and took time out for an interview with Rush Limbaugh, reflecting on his journey as an investigative journalist and his new book, “Breakthrough: Our Guerilla War to Expose Fraud and Save Democracy.”

It’s well worth taking the time to listen to the whole interview:

Fantastic. O’Keefe’s candor and fearlessness have earned him raves since he first broke through, and today was no exception:

The key takeaway of the interview was Keefe pointing out that his investigations display mere grains of sand in a desert of corruption, so imagine the discoveries that could be made if more people would go out and traverse the dunes.

Never mind. Not worth a response.

If the details matter, how is James O’Keefe a hero? Since the ACORN video was, um, selectively edited? If the details matter, how is Andrew Breitbart a hero for getting Shirley Sherrod fired? For portraying her as precisely the opposite of who she is by telling the first half of a story?

        • CaptainWhitebread

The very act of editing is selective. Try again.

          • Kent Straith

I don’t have to try again. I meant exactly what I said. There’s editing for clarity and editing to create a completely different message. James O’Keefe may be a successful provocateur, but he’s not a journalist. Journalists (in the words of Rush Limbaugh) tell stories to people who weren’t there. James O’Keefe doesn’t start with an event that needs relaying. He starts with an idea, and then interviews only those people who’ll support his idea, and then edits their words only in such a way that it will convey his story. That’s simply not journalism.

          • CaptainWhitebread

So, editing when it supports your view is “editing for clarity”. If not, it’s “selective”. Got it.

          • Kent Straith

Do you? Get it? Cause it seems like you’re being sarcastic. Editing for clarity means to take out those things which are irrelevant to the point or repetitive. If you, in any way, remove the truth of the story or intent of the speaker, you’re many things, but definitely not a journalist. James O’Keefe is a rather effective advocate for his world view, but he’s not remotely a journalist. And to call his operation Project Veritas (Truth) is shameful.

        • Tom Chipp

If I remember right, Breitbart was the one who played the entire speech proving she is a woman of excellent character. It was the NAACP crowd that showed the racist tenor. Followed by Obama offering her job back and she told him to pound sand.

O’Keefe is inspirational for anyone interested in retaking our government and demanding ethics from civil servants and groups funded with taxpayer money.

I do dispute the claim that ACORN has been decimated. It simply reincorporated under new names and will receive ten of millions of dollars to provide “navigators” under the immigration reform act. Under progressive regimes ACORN = roaches

O’Keefe is doing the job that 60 minutes et al used to do.

He probably crossed the line with the Senator G, but the Feds gave him the equivalent of the death penalty for a speeding ticket.

I hope he continues his work, but remembers that he is fighting a corrupt state that will treat him like the IRS treated the Tea Party applicants.

  • mucholderguy

People are saying that James O’Keefe and the late Andrew Breitbart were lovers and that James was Andrew’s lil bitch. I’m not saying this, you understand — people are saying it. Are these rumors true?

    • longrange1

Why, “mucholderguy”, looking for a “protege”?

Isn’t James O’Keefe a little old for you NAMBLA types?

  • http://ceinquiry.wordpress.com/ Andrew

I’m glad that there’s a place for dildo boat enthusiasts in today’s conservative movement.

O’Keefe is over-privileged twerp who used deceptively edited videos to smear a legitimate charity whose only crime was helping poor people. Investigative journalism is supposed to target the rich and powerful, not the marginalized and downtrodden.

    • longrange1

The “marginalized and downtrodden” that give helpful hints on how to escape laws against prostitution and human trafficking of female children? Aren’t there ever enough underaged “sex workers ” for the likes of you “progressive” types.

Andrew, you’re a disgusting, despicable piece of crap! You’re just another roach scurrying for the dark when the light gets turned on.

Oh those poor, poor, marginalized and downtrodden political operatives of ACORN that work hand and hand with the DNC.
