College students in North Carolina are quite pleased with themselves this afternoon, and who can blame them? They took to the streets today to show their solidarity with the state’s unemployed workers:

In the face of adversity, they’ve not only triumphed over anti-worker injustice, but they’ve done so with their dingity — er, dignity — firmly intact:

More troubling even than the spelling is the fact that these idiots believe a college education is a RIGHT.

Umm… where exactly was that “right” found in the constitution? Probably right up there with the “right” to abort your baby and get gay married and have “free” healthcare!

Education is a privilege. Whenever the liberals say that there is a “right” to something, it just basically means that it is something they want but they don’t want to pay for themselves!

And in this case, any taxpayer money that went to “educate” these people should be refunded immediately because it obviously did not work!!!!!!!!

I really liked this article by Senator Thom Goolsby where he described these “Moral Mondays” as what they really are- Moron Mondays! http://www.ncspin.com/2013/06/10/moron-monday-shows-radical-left-just-doesnt-get-it/

    • Finrod Felagund

These losers have probably never even read the Constitution; they call things ‘rights’ because they want them and they hear other things called rights. We’re talking barely room-temperature IQ here.

Article IX of the NC Constitution makes public education compulsory for all able-bodied children, unless educated by other means. The North Carolina State Board of Education is defined here and given the power to regulate all free public education in the state. This article demands that the General Assembly establish a system of higher education and states that higher education should be free, as far as practicable.

      “Sec. 8. Higher education.

The General Assembly shall maintain a public system of higher education, comprising The University of North Carolina and such other institutions of higher education as the General Assembly may deem wise. The General Assembly shall provide for the selection of trustees of The University of North Carolina and of the other institutions of higher education, in whom shall be vested all the privileges, rights, franchises, and endowments heretofore granted to or conferred upon the trustees of these institutions. The General Assembly may enact laws necessary and expedient for the maintenance and management of The University of North Carolina and the other public institutions of higher education.

Sec. 9. Benefits of public institutions of higher education.

The General Assembly shall provide that the benefits of The University of North Carolina and other public institutions of higher education, as far as practicable, be extended to the people of the State free of expense.”

Their English is gettin gooder in’it.

This is what passes for college student now days? I weep for my Country.

  • mickeyco

At the rate they’re going, they are going to “untie” with the unemployed- they’ll never get a job.

  • RblDiver

I’m always reminded of an old Frank and Earnest comic, two cavemen saying something along the lines of: “Words created have we. Invent now we syntax?”

    Education is NOT a Right.

It is a Privilege. And Privileges cost MONEY of some shape or form!

If you don’t have it. You don’t get it!

    Oh, and remember.

Dyslexics and stupid people of the Left… UNTIE!!!

    • Bathing Suit Area

Yeah, what do poors need education for? They should be happy as servants begging for our scraps.

      • Jack Deth

        Try again.

Percentages of graduation from high school tells me that “the poor” are given every opportunity to better themselves through government enforced handouts, quotas and set asides. And they do not want it.

      • radishthegreat

Servants? Lol. No one need do a lick of work to be fed and housed in America.

All of your rights can be had naked in the wilderness. All other things that civil society provides us are not rights, they are privileges.

      • alanstorm

They do need education. (Although they’re not getting it from public schools.) However, that does not make education a right.

You have amply displayed your lack of thinking ability on other threads. Why do you feel the need to keep doing so?
