It wasn’t just Tea Party groups that were targeted by the IRS; the agency also reportedly subjected pro-life groups to extra scrutiny. Life News reports that the IRS subjected one organization to “repeated and lengthy unconstitutional requests for information about the viewpoint and content of its educational communications, volunteer prayer vigils, and other protected activities.”

During today’s congressional hearing on the IRS scandal-fest, GOP Rep. Aaron Schock asked acting commissioner Steven Miller if the IRS had indeed asked a pro-life group about its prayers:

If this is true, it’s unconscionable. Just don’t expect Miller to concede that point:

Didn’t know if it was inappropriate? Really?

Unbelievable. And sickening.

It’s getting more and more difficult to tell.

Frightening.

Amen.

    Hmmm…

“Here I lay you…down to rest.
May your slumber be ever ‘blessed’…”

  • Marcy Cook

Listen in this hearing this jerk actually said “as much as I dislike the right…..”
Are you kidding me? That alone shows at least his attitude towards certain groups is so totally biased that he was a part of this. His attitude tainted the department and they need to clean house now!

    • MyrmidoNOT

“Do you know?” …how ‘many’ times…you are gonna ‘have to’ flush?!?

I wonder if they asked any Muslim groups if they taught any “kill the infidel” sermons in their prayers. Although, I already know the answer, the answer is no.

Well, at least there’s not an Islamic supremacist in the White House.

Someone needs to ask whether any pro-life group ever was scrutinized the way in which these were & to provide by Monday the list of questions that were asked of them. I am sure it will be enlightening: 1) they were never scrutinized 2) never would have asked them to not protest against pro-lifers.

    • Guest

“Someone needs to ask whether any pro-life group ever was scrutinized”
Do you mean “Pro-Choice” (abortion)? Just asking ’cause I think it’s already been determined that Pro-Life groups WERE the ones scrutinized. The only ones in fact! And heavily!

That is the correct answer, they are too corrupt and too powerful. They violate guaranteed rights in the constitution.

This should not be a surprise to anyone. Obamacare contains religious exemptions but gives the government the RIGHT to investigate whether you qualify and you have the OBLIGATION to prove you fall within a religious exemption (i.e. prove your religious beliefs).

Freedom went away quite a while ago in this country, it’s just an illusion now for those uninformed enough to believe in it.

    • Abe

It’s not a surprise. Legislation doesn’t confer rights. Lazy legislators just throw crap to the courts to see what sticks. As long as we can fight we have a duty to do so.

Call me uninformed. Freedom is only an illusion to those who have already rolled over. As long as I don’t take it, I’m free.

This is a separation of powers violation to add to the abuse of power and high crimes and misdemeanors.

    • tommcgtx

I agree about the abuse of powers, but I’m not sure where you’re coming from with “separation of powers violation”. Separation of powers usually describes the separation between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial aspects of government, and the IRS is part of the Executive. Just curious, that’s all

    • ogama843

God doesnt work that way. He is not vengeful in the worldly sense. He will even forgive the baby killers if they ask for forgiveness. If they continue, unrepentant, they will be haunted by the souls of those babies for eternity.

      • tommcgtx

Um, Marty Luther said “God, we await YOUR vengeance”, which would seem to imply that it would be God’s vengeance, not the worldly type. I don’t believe the “souls of those babies” will technically be haunting anyone, and they will probably be preoccupied with eternal torment

        • http://twitter.com/Stimulus4U Marty Luther

Granted, If they don’t repent of their sins, they will pay for them. Oh, and THEY MADE GOD’S TOP 7 LIST: “There are six things which Jehovah hateth; Yea, seven which are an
abomination unto him: Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, AND HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD; A heart that deviseth wicked purposes, Feet that are
swift in running to mischief, A false witness that uttereth lies, And he
that soweth discord among brethren” (Proverbs 6:16-19).

  • Axelgreaser

WHEN DID KILLIING BABIES IN THE WOMB become so automatic, almost ‘de rigueur’ and worse, guilt-free? And when did ‘prayer intrusion’ become part of big governments role in our lives? Don’t we still have separaton of church and state? As one Congressman asked duirng the IRS investigations of Steven Miller, “Is this still America?” When did religious hectoring and abortion become so unimportant that major news agencies had to be shamed into covering the most sensational abortion horror in our lifetime while they seem intent upon demeaning our religion, or at least some of our religions. It all seems to have arrived with this liberal administration who one one hand espouse concern for life and religious freedom, but do they? Concrning abortion, I would venture that even the most liberal thinking person with absolutley no thought of the actual mechanics of the process of abortion so vividly demonstrated by testimony’s during the course of the Gosnell trial must at times feel a twinge of concern for the unborn. It’s ony human to have difficulty disassociating from what is a natural inclination to celebrate new life to instead swtich gears to accepting termination of life as just another medical procedure, like dealing with a cold. In the last four years it seems as though abortion and all other extremes of liberal governing and liberal thinking are becoming more acceptable or if not acceptable, less disturbing, less shocking. Peope are becoming number and number to killing babies as well as more accepting of escalating costs associated with everday living. Liberals are wearing us down. Or at least some of us if you ascribe to the what is coming out of liberal ‘State Television.’ They are hammering away: “It’s alright to end life. It’s alright to turn your back on Christianity. It’s alright to accept everything coming out of this White House.” There’s nothing there (Benghazi), ‘move on.’

Killing babies in the womb became ‘alright’ with the advent of Barack Obama’s tenure in the White House, imo, as part of his ‘war on women’ and attack on religion. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have made it clear that it’s an invioltate right (though you ask yourself how does Pelosi, ie, disavow this part of her Catholic religion.) It became alright when we became cognizent that the MSM is delivering the ‘message’ of this regime (‘regime’ is becoming the perfect descriptive) began, through the obvious MSM sources, but also through Obama’s press representatives beginniing with Robert Gibbs thru Jay Carney: “This is the way it is, you need to accept all, sit down, shut-up and not challenge even one aspect of the message of the dominant party’s plans for your life. Likewise you do not challenge Benghazi (which is now transisting to another level beyond the actual deaths, to resisting the lies we’ve been stubbornly fed) nor do you DARE challenge the horrific, distressful AP infiltration by the Obama White House and most frightening of all, the IRS horror. The IRS story makes you sick to your stomach. And it should. But one thing that is becoming clearer and clearer even by watching the testimony yesterday of former IRS Director, Mr. Steven Miller, who seemed oddly disconnected from the criminal implications of the event as though he knew nothing would touch him, what’s becoming clear is people are beginning to NOT pay attention. This adminsitration is doing what I referred to before. Wearing us down with one horror after another. It’s all becoming acceptable. Even mass abortion has begun to lose its ability to trigger that natural inclination to cherish life rather than take it for granted. And tht has happened before on an enormous scale. Do we ever learn to follow our instincts and say, ‘no…this is bad. THIS is evil.’

We need to become aware of more. Such as phoney firings and ’empty apologies’ by this adminsitration meant to ‘close the chapter’ on a thing or event that just doesn’t smell right to us. We need to trust our instincts and NOT accept that life means nothing. We need to begin paying very close very attention to the three scandals which have overtaken our government and follow them through. And there is a fourth which links them to our ability to recognize evil no matter how big a smile it’s fronted by. The attack on our religion and our right to practice it and apply it to those who really do not have our best interests at hand.

  • Noneya

    Here is my prayer:
I pray that the evil at the Obama IRS understand the US Constitution as well as we the people.

  • JR48
