Well, not exactly … but he is apparently following in the president’s illustrious footsteps and pledging a whopping 5 percent of his salary to a charity for State Department employees.

As Defense Secretary, Kerry receives an annual salary of $183,500:

Whoa. Now that’s what you call shared sacrifice.

Don’t all stand up and applaud at once!

The best part about Kerry’s charitable donation? Tax deduction! Score!

Kerry’s yacht now flies the #Propganada flag

    • Miss Clairee

Thinking of vacationing in Propganada this summer…..either there or Martha’s Vineyard. It’s a toss up! Just got back from Kazakhstan. Nice trip, weather wasn’t too bad – saw the Kerry clan there and was hoping their yacht would sink!

      • Tangchung

lol, be careful I heard if too many tourist on Propganada the island might tip over and capsize!

Why do SD employees need charity? or is it some charity they support?

  • Gloves Donahue, Jr.

John F. Ketchup could donate 5% of his allowance from Te-re-za. It would be larger.

Why not kick in some dough to help feed Little Debbie Wasserman Schultz’ starving employees?

    • Kimihiro Watanuki

That’s the haughty Mr. Theresa Hinze to us peasants! Oh… and you forgot to mention he served in Vietnam.

      • angeleyez

KETCHUP all you brain dead liberal sheep,
John Heinz Kerry is worth billions.
JFK never took a government salary.

  • Brian Johnson

Once again, we see liberalism as nothing more than symbols. 5% of the President’s salary and Kerry’s salary don’t add up to anything even remotely significant, but “look! They care!”

If you’re going to give $9000 to something, why not give it to something that it will make a difference like a private charity. But they can’t do that, because private charities diminish people’s need for the government. Then liberals would be out of a job.

  • kate_middleton

How about your whole salary, bro?

  • syvyn11

So the empty suit is doing the same empty gesture that his boss is doing. Can the man have one original thought in his head?

  • twinx

… and free ketchup and relish for all!

  • tops116

How ’bout 95% instead, Secretary Neck-Bolt?

  • kim

am I the only one who finds this crap insulting?
Oh so easy to pat themselves on the back but Kerry is worth hundreds of millions and Obama is not only worth millions, he lives on free housing, free food, free healthcare, free utilities, free entertainment and free transportation. I’m disgusted with these people

Giving 5% of your money seems to be all the rage these days for libturds.

  • Marsh626

Wow. 5%. How generous. He’s “worth” hundreds of millions of dollars (in real terms, he’s worth nothing). Typical champagne liberal socialist…

  • TocksNedlog

Note to the Twitchy: it says “As Defense Secretary” up above.

  • TocksNedlog

Aww, ain’t it cute? They’re tithing 5% to the collective. One can count the minutes until they ‘request’ that the rest of us do the same.

  • TocksNedlog

Hey Lurch, how about dropping some cash into an investigation of what happened in Benghazi, hmm?

  • Joey Bagdano

So per O’Reillys book killing Kennedy, JFK donated all of his salary to charity…he was worth less than Heinz/Kerry. So, yeah, theres that.

  • neoface

Am not impressed! Kerry is worth over half of billion, that’s $500,000,000.00 plus, he should write a check so they can open the people’s whitehouse!!!!

  • Anderson

Is this the chic new progressive cause, millionaires who dont even need a salary donating a piddly 5% of said unneeded salary to government employee causes? How insulting to the almost 90 million un/under employed who got thrown under the bus. Wow, and these morons think this will get them good PR?

  • DrSamHerman

Big whoop. He and Teresa (funny how pronunciation of her name changed after she married Lurch the Ketchup Gigolo?!) spent 5% of his SOS salary on the yacht this weekend.
