Mocking an individual’s right to defend himself against armed intruders? Just another day in the life of a Democrat.

Good times.
At a public forum on gun legislation yesterday, an older gentleman confronted U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette with with a home invasion scenario. Particularly if the intruders are armed, what measures can he take to defend himself given Colorado’s new restrictive gun laws? With the Democrats in the Colorado legislature on a mission to disarm the citizenry, it’s a very valid question. Unfortunately, DeGette thinks it’s worthy of derision:

“You’d probably be dead anyway.” Just the sort of thing you want to hear from someone who’s supposed to work in your best interest.
Unbelievable.
@michellemalkin The contempt on Rep DeGette's face is despicable. Vote. Her. Out. @mjasandoval @gatewaypundit @CompleteCO

Maybe instead of trying to make a reasonable man look foolish, she could spend her time instead learning about how guns actually work. You know, since she’s co-sponsoring gun control legislation:

USRep Degette was asked about millions of mags in circulation she said "they will be used up because there are bullets in them". real bright

Cringe-tastic transcript via CNSNews.com:
“What’s the efficacy of banning these magazine clips? I will tell you, these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now, they’re going to shoot them” says Rep DeGette. According to her, “the number of these high capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time because the bullets will be shot and there won’t be any more available.”
Derp. Hey, Rep. DeGette, this Twitterer has some questions for you to consider in your future research:

Heckuva job, Diana! Meanwhile, here’s some good advice:
Rep DeGette, as a general rule you should have some basic background knowledge of things you want to ban. #magban
