Count Roseanne Barr among those smacking the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs for its asinine advice to potential female rape victims. No conservative by any stretch of the imagination, Barr has nonetheless come out in defense of the Second Amendment. Today, after retweeting Michelle Malkin, she took to Twitter to voice her support for women arming themselves against sexual predators:

http://twitter.com/TheRealRoseanne/status/303884860693557248

While her messaging could use some work, we do appreciate that Roseanne, unlike Democratic members of the Colorado legislature, understands that women deserve to be able to defend themselves from harm.

***

It’s worth noting that during her presidential run, Roseanne considered rapist Mike Tyson as a possible running mate. We wonder if she would have encouraged her female voters to arm themselves against him.

    I like Roseanne. Today anyway…

  • NRPax

Wow. I’m man enough to admit that I didn’t expect her to think this way. Most impressive.

  • SameJerkDifferentName

    Hell has officially frozen over.

    • TheOriginalDonald

It froze in 1994 when The Eagles reunited

You’re Right! I totally forgot. I was there at Fiddler’s Green in Denver.

I was at Sun Devil stadium Phoenix…great concert! Major wind storm that day…but just as they came on stage and the sun was setting behind…wind died down…Hotel California. Awesome!

Naw, Roseanne’s just a militant feminazi…she’d blow the head off a pro-lifer too.

  • TheAmishDude

It should be noted that the Left keeps pushing to give voting rights to (ex)-felons.

That specifically means that they want convicted rapists to be able to vote.

    • Hiraghm

If you are convicted of a crime, and do your full sentence of punishment, yes, you should get all your rights back. That’s FULL SENTENCE, no parole nonsense.

  • MJ Pauls

Wow… I think I’m a little scared that I actually agree with Roseanne on something.

We all are. “Mommy: why is the big scary woman right?”

It scared the hell out of me too, liking this new sounding Roseanne. It seems like hell just freezes over!

OMG!! is roseanne actually defending the 2nd amendment, where is piers?? does she really need a gun, her looks could turn mere men to stone!

    • Canadian in USA

Oh, now THAT’S a match I would love to see – Piers vs. Rosanne.

    • VerminMcCann

We’re getting way ahead of ourselves here. She’s come out in support of the right of women to shoot rapists. The protections of the Second Amendment are far broader than that. I’d bet she’s far less enthusiastic about MY Second Amendment rights.

  • Steve_J

“…patriarchy teaches men to do it..”. Really, men are taught to rape? That’s one stupid comment and on the level of Salazar and UCCS.

    • Renny

Yeah, that bit just turned everything else she was saying into cuckoo time. Sigh.

  • Scott Wilson

    Dang.

    Something big is happening.

    I agree with Roseanne Barr.

I saw Roseanne at the Belmont track betting the ponies once….
There was a awkward moment when a jockey tried to put a saddle on her.

    • Mike Tillman

      bet they wont now

    • TheOriginalDonald

You’re confusing her with Sarah Jessica Parker

LOL! Dunno why, but ol’ HorseFace jokes never get old…

I disagree with Roseanne about the “clean headshots”…..Shoot for the man parts…this way, if they live, they’ll never rape again.

    • AdoEdem

Aim for whichever you have a clear shot at. Same results!

    • peteee363

perhaps she was speaking of the other head?

  • wwbdinct

The lefties tears at this one will be DELICIOUS. Sweet irony!

  • Heather_A

Damn you, Roseanne for making me like you for 5 minutes.

There might be hope for Roseanne. It is actually a good thing to have HER on the side of the Second Amendment. Who will be next?

  • Guest

Lets not get carried away, Roseanne hates conservatives and she says wish they die and go away.

    • aPLWBinAK

You’re absolutely correct, but we’re just giving credit where due, no matter the source….she’s right on this….rapists and molesters should be ventilated

OMG that was Roseanne Barr actually making sense in several posts in a row… NOW I’m scared!!!

  • TocksNedlog

Even a woman whose face can stop a clock is right once in awhile.

In MY Patriarchal Oppression class I was taught to *defend* women because they’re generally smaller and weaker than the people likely to attack them. I must’ve missed the rape class.

  • walterc

I thought Rosanne was against gun in the hands of private citizens. What changed? Not that it’s a bad thing. It’s like watching a puppy or kitten opening it’s eyes for the first time. Yesterday they were liberal kittens, today they’re Conservative kittens.

I shall be prepping my BOB. Apparently the world is going to end now.

  • Proud2bfromtheUSA

have we confirmed that was the actual Rosanne Barr? I am inclined to believe it is because of the asinine comment about men being taught to rape. Men when brought up with a father and a mother in a home where God is the focus are taught to love and protect women. the majority of rapist are brought up in homes where single mothers are raising them and no involvement with the baby daddy. It is little wonder then that these men resulting from such raising in such feminism resent women and turn out to be rapist.

  • http://marezilla.com/ Zilla of the Resistance

If I remember correctly, she was a victim of sexual violence, so her support of women’s right to defend themselves from such attacks isn’t surprising.

  • Hiraghm

If a man railed on against women the way she’s railing on about men, he’d be labeled a misogynist and shunned…

  • sqeptiq

I agree with Roseanne. Women should also arm up against abusive husbands and boyfriends.

  • Joe Squid

Don’t know what Roseanne Barr is worried about. She could walk around Tahrir Square stark naked all day, and the Mullahs would rush to cover her up!!!!!

  • Chris D. Clay

go roseann! im all for armed women. ladies, blow their sorry excuse for humans beings balls clean off. chlorene the gene pool!

  • Paladin

I read Sister Trinity’s comment, “My point is women can’t be packing heat in the home all the time & be expected to blow brother, dad or hubby’s head off.” And I think, “What type of home life must a person have if that’s where their mind goes?”

I saw another comment on a similar thread where a woman wouldn’t want to shoot their friend if she thought he was grabbing for her when he was really reaching across her to get a tissue. I thought, “What type of people do you choose to have as friends where that would be a consideration?”

Are there just a few nut-jobs out there or is my life so charmed that I don’t consider this normal behavior?

    • GoSellCrazySomeplaceElse

It’s the liberal thought process. They don’t want to, or can’t debate the obvious rape situations people are talking about, so they present a limited, singular scenerio to try to prove their point. It’s just part of #MentalLibness.

    • Harry A

the first comment is due to the fact that most rapes are carried out by family members.

the second one is just…..well its stupid. no one confuses reaching for tissues with rape.

      • Paladin

I would like to think that if a person had a brother or husband who would rape their sister or wife they would change their situation before it got to that point. I realize that abuse cases are different where the victim is “beaten down” whether physically or emotionally. I also know that with child abuse, the victim is pretty powerless. In those situations, the victim is probably not going to be armed anyway.

      • Paladin

On another note, the advice that the U of C was giving is the best bet as a last resort. It might work. But there are a lot of other things people can do to defeat a predator’s victim selection process.
Weapons are one of the options. If a person isn’t going make time to get training, a collapsible metal baton is a perfectly good choice. They’re pretty nasty, even in untrained hands. They create distance which gives options, and break bones on contact.

If a person is going to carry a firearm, they need to get training. I’m not talking about range time, which is important, but also scenario based training.
What a lot of people are getting tired of is having other people eliminate their options to defend themselves if they feel it could be necessary.

I don’t recommend aiming for the head – too small a target. Go for the torso, and remember – don’t empty your clip. Save a couple of rounds, just in case.

  • VerminMcCann

What does this barking moonbat think we rightwing nut jobs have been trying to do this whole time? It is telling, though, that she’s such a collectivist loon that, even in making this ostensibly individualistic comment, she resorts to ordering someone else–society, apparently–to arm and train women. Women can’t arm themselves? I have to train them?

  • 2ifbyT

I must have had some bad food for dinner. For a minute, I thought Roseanne and I agreed on something…

  • tingle007

Rosie is so right for once. She may be pretty smart under all that hollywood oddness.
