Wasn’t the Affordable Care Act supposed to improve workers’ quality of life?

Wonder if ThinkProgress thugs plan to teach this Taco Bell a lesson.

Looks like the Think Progress gang is going to have to rally it’s minions to boycott another establishment they don’t patronize anyway.

    • Maxwell

Idk if they’ll boycott it. I mean it is Taco Bell… pothead food, really.

  • Vennoye

    Forward……….into the Abyss of Obamacare……..

  • Tommy

Thats what libs asked for so they should just shut up and deal with it. Its their fault.

  • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

You get what you voted/cried for. Obamacare isn’t free and it’s going to get paid for one way or another. Either by those of us who do work or by companies cutting hours. It’s ok to educate yourselves liberals. Really, it is.

    • WisconsinPatriot

Lisa…….you are asking a LOT! Libs believe they ARE educated. Thus, they are the “smart people” in the room. Really really tough to convince them otherwise. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

      • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

I know @WisconsinPatriot:disqus . It’s an issue I face everyday at work but I don’t mind reminding those libs. 😉

        • mdtljt

Lisa, the schadenfreude around there must be delicious…all those lib/progs with a big sad…mmmwwwwhhhahahahahahaha!!!! sorry, I’m just so thrilled that the “unintended consequences” are rearing their ugly heads so quickly….and the lib/progs are so perplexed as to how this could happen….hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

@disqus_VdwlIeAmiE:disqus – I completely understand about the unintended consequences arising faster than expected. I figured it would take at least a year before they even started to feel a pinch of regret but I’m glad to be wrong about that.

When you go looking for a freebie what you usually end up with is something that cost you more than you thought it would. I suspect many are in for a big surprise when O care is taken out of the unemployment checks, and they receive their IRS fines for not being covered. It isn’t mandatory that the employer provide you with coverage, what is however mandatory is that you prove you have coverage or pay a fine for not having it.

Unintended consequences of liberalism have cost us billions, as taxpayers it is time to stop this run away train we call a government. Who do they think they work for anyway? And who do they think pays them. Just because they can steal the funds that pay their checks from us doesn’t mean we don’t have a say in how they spend it. Wake up and stop sending back 80 year old people to run this country, they can barely stay awake long enough to do an interview, let alone get any real work done. The chamber is empty most of the time.

The losers get free birth control and I still have to pay for my tacos? Bullshit! If I eat my weight in tacos that will most certainly prevent me from getting laid. Ergo, not getting laid = birth control. I demand free tacos under Obamacare!

    • mdtljt

Awesome logic, Lord F, although I’m quite sure it’ll confound all the smart swells in the big brain buildings in DC….oh, my….I just realized you may also run afoul of the Mooch….I’m very adept at defending myself with or without my firearm of choice, but she scares the everliving sh!t outta me….look out!!! 😉

      • carla5731

I can confirm the lack of understanding at the “highest levels” of government. Long before the contraceptive mandate took effect, I had a long talk with a senator’s aide. She insisted that “free” birth control was indeed free, and suggested that if I had any issues with the cost of my insurance, I could report my insurance company to a special government agency. When I pointed out that it was the government that was causing the cost increases, she just repeated her spiel.

    • peteee363

well, i don’t argue with your point, but if i must eat my weight in something, taco bell isn’t it. i would rather make a real taco joint meet my demands, or even a good paprikash joint. taco bell, is just a quick fix gringo taco place. but they do deserve a drive thru visit, not my weight’s worth.

      • GaryTheBrave

If you get out west you should check out Taco John’s. Their stuff is mucho bueno than Toxic Smell.

excuse you, but I take offense at the term “gringo”, unless Twitchy is going to let me start using the first half of “…and span” to describe Latinos.

If Taco Bell serves “gringo tacos”, whatever they may be, it has to be half a step up on the garbage eaten in “real” taco joints.

        • peteee363

i think i know good tacos from bad. for example, here is my fav latin american food place: http://www.magodining.com/
this is far from a taco joint, bring your appetite, and lots of cash. lunch is about 20 bucks a head, and dinner can get close to 100 bucks per. blows away fast food. in chicago when you mention fake mexican, they call it gringo, no me, the mexicans. we have lots of them here, most are wonderful people. most companies here hire only mexicans, not because they are selective, but they are the only ones showing up for work. and most of the ones i work with are not illegals.

After watching that news story the last thing I wanted to say was “We told you so.” even though we did. So sad. I hope she finds another job.

It is going to be increasingly difficult for libs to boycott all their places of employment for an extended period of time…

I’ve never seen a group of people more busy at taking cups of water from one end of the pool to the other; all-the-while insisting that the shallow end will surely get deeper.

When you explain the laws of physics, they threaten you.

I’ve also never seen a more inept collection of lawmakers unable to explain this point to the low-information voter.

Well those nice liberals have only one choice. They have to open up their own Taco Bell franchise and show us meanies how it’s done NICELY!

  • Danny Wheeler

Think we might see Taco Bell Appreciation Day? (I said something similar about Wendy’s, but still…)

  • Maggie

We knew this was coming. Yet folks voted in the present administration. Unemployment will continue its upward climb and millions will be underemployed. But half of the country is getting aid from our bankrupt government so what are a few million more who must look to the government for their living.

  • Maggie

And do not expect to get much of this ‘free’ medical ‘care’. On your ‘free’ annual visit your doctor is not allowed to touch you nor can you bring up new concerns. If you need anything major, you will get in line to see if you can have it. If you are elderly, die quietly please. If you are unborn, you can be killed for free! There was a saying our parents and grandparents used to know: no such thing as a free lunch.

  • Noctis Wolf

The Affordable Care Act has an employer health insurance mandate. If the business has 50+ employees then they must provide health insurance to any employee who is working an average of 30 (thirty) hours a week or more. Yes, according to the ACA 30 hours a week is the new full time.

Which means your hours could well be at 29 a week or less. Now, couple your fewer hours and lower pay with inflation. Then add in the requirement that YOU must buy health insurance. Yes, with less money you will still need to pay for your own health insurance. If you do not you will have to pay a fine or go to prison if you do not pay the fine.

Imagine that, if you will. Working 29 hours a week or less. With higher prices because of inflation. Now you have less money. And with the less money that you have you must now spend more money on health insurance, a fine, or you get locked up.

Now. If that is tolerable then you then feel free to stay in the government of Washington DC. Just don’t expect those of us who find that intolerable to continue to live, and we will live, as a part of the government in Washington DC.

Some of us see the situation as being untenable. Some of us know that with 29 hours a week with inflation and having to pay for something which is REQUIRED, or a fine or prison will be unbearable.

So keep your ACA and your government in Washington. DC. Just don’t drag everyone else who doesn’t like it, like you like it, down with you.

    • Noctis Wolf

Employers shouldn’t cut hours, you say. They should let their employees work 30+ hours a week and give them health insurance, you say. Okay then. YOU run a business and find a way to cover extra costs which have been mandated. And still keep your employees at 30+ hours a week, with health insurance paid for by you, and keep your business profitable. Oh, and you’re not allowed to raise prices or lay ANYONE off.
