As Americans prepare to plunge head-first over the fiscal cliff, some folks are hoping to soften the inevitable blow by drinking themselves into a stupor:

Hey, if we’re gonna go off the cliff, we might as well enjoy ourselves.

Another dog and pony show from DC. They’ll put together some lousy deal at zero hour to make it seem like they are looking out for us, when in reality, they are only looking out for themselves. Pay raises for failing to do their job should sum up exactly what the government is all about. They are in it for them. Not for us.

I agree completely. They don’t really have to work out a tax deal tonight because taxes are not collected until April, and any tax deal made later can be made retroactive to January 1, 2013.

How many of these complaining tweeters:

    1. Hadn’t heard the phrase “fiscal cliff” until last week?
    2. Spent the entire campaign season chanting that the “Bush tax cuts were for the wealthy”?
    3. Pay NO net income taxes?
    4. Are still clueless as to which is the rectal orifice and which is the earthen excavation?
