File under: Unexpectedly! Self-proclaimed gay rights advocate and anti-bullying crusader Dan Savage laid bare his intolerance once again, this time hurling the f*ggot-bomb at gay conservative organization GOProud. GOProud, you see, had the gall to stray from the Gay Left’s plantation and announce its support for Mitt Romney:

“The Board of Directors of GOProud voted to enthusiastically endorse Governor Romney’s candidacy for President,” said Lisa De Pasquale, interim Chair of the GOProud Board of Directors and the former Director of CPAC.  “GOProud is prepared to commit significant resources to help make Mitt Romney the next President of the United States.”

“Most gay Americans – like their straight counterparts – are not better off than they were 4 years ago,” said Jimmy LaSalvia, GOProud Executive Director.  “The truth is that gay people are living in the disastrous failed Obama economy too.”

“President Obama and his friends on the left want this election to be about divisive social issues, because the President’s record on jobs and the economy is indefensible,” continued LaSalvia.  “At this critical juncture, we need a President with the experience and expertise to turn this economy around.  Someone who knows how the free markets work – former Governor Mitt Romney is that candidate.”

“Not only does President Obama not understand how the free markets work – he is openly hostile to free market capitalism,” said LaSalvia.  “President Obama’s repeated attacks on Governor Romney’s private sector record underscore this President’s fundamental lack of understanding of how our economy works.  Instead of demonizing free markets, President Obama should be focused on creating an economic environment that encourages free market investments and creates jobs.”

“For far too long, the gay left in this country has been allowed to dictate what they believe qualify as ‘gay issues.’  We think that jobs, the economy, healthcare, retirement security and taxes are all ‘gay issues,’ and on every single one of those issues, Mitt Romney is light years better than President Obama,” said LaSalvia.

Well, this just didn’t sit well with Savage at all. What? The Gay Right can’t have gay rights! Gay conservatives aren’t people. Somebody get them to reeducation camp stat!

Twitterers were disgusted by Savage, and they let flow the righteous indignation:

Snowball, hell … you know the drill.

For his part, GOProud co-founder Jimmy LaSalvia took the high road:

Unfortunately, gay conservatives like those in GOProud still face an uphill battle when it comes to winning the respect they deserve from their ideological counterparts:

Twitchy stands with GOProud and condemns Dan Savage for his vicious bigotry. Put on your big-boy pants, Dan. It won’t get better until bullies like you man up and learn to disagree without resorting to base insults and verbal abuse.

Remember when Savage bullied a room full of high school students? For anyone needing a reminder of just how despicable that man is, Ben Howe has put out a fantastic new video.

Anti-bully? Please.

Faggot (unit), archaic unit of measurement for bundles of sticks
Faggot (food), British meatball commonly made of pork offal
faggot or fagot, branch or twig, or bundle of these
    He meant one of those..right?

  • HWGood

He has met the bully and it is him. How do folks make a living running around warning others about people like themselves?

  • Mr. Chips

Dan is our Ann Coulter, albeit smart and funny. He constantly says things to provoke and make sure people are still paying attention to him. FYI, we (those of us in the “gay community”) can use the “F” word, much in the same way it’s okay for black people to use the “N” word. Glad I could clear that up for you.

    • David

No, you cannot use the “F” word as an INSULT. To do so minimizes the idea of the elimination of that word as derogatory.

The only thing the use of that word does is make you a hypocrite of the highest order. That is the ONLY thing you’ve managed to clear up for anyone: “Do as we say, not as we do” (or, as Orwell would have written: “All animals are equal, some are more equal than others”).

Dan Savage, or rather Keenan Houlahan, the plumbing advice columnist whose internalized homophobia led him to abandon his given name of Keenan Houlahan as too faggoty, for the masculine comic book hero moniker “Dan Savage,” has once again sought media attention, calling a gay political group “faggots” for endorsing someone not his choice for President.

In particular he called them “house faggots,” which is probably projection, given Democratic party gays’ long tradition of sucking up slights, evasions and half-measures, while bending over and spreading their wallets for politicians who otherwise ignore them.

It was kind of an odd charge though, since the group he was attacking, GOProud, is not a membership organization, and has an advisory board heavy with heterosexuals, like author Margaret Hoover and taxpayer advocate Grover Norquist. How can these people be house faggots when they aren’t even faggots?

One supposes he was aiming at the group’s director, Jimmy LaSalvia, and founder, Chris Barron, who are bonafide (as it were) homosexuals, or perhaps its staff, a uniformly delectable group of college age gay interns (I have visited their Capitol Hill office). The curiosity there is that Chris Barron did not endorse Romney, but instead is supporting Libertarian presidential candidate Governor Gary Johnson, and was indeed a Johnson delegate this May at the Libertarian Party nominating convention. Further the GOProud advisory board endorsement was not unanimous, and even the endorsement they did issue had a heavy context of “gay people are more than simply gays, they also are taxpayers who need jobs and a president who will not lie to them, hence Barack Obama fails on all counts,” and for those who are two party faithful, only one “hold your nose” or “hope he evolves” choice remains (and Romney’s history is certainly one of … evolutions).

The gay trolls who live in the leftover blogosphere are in their usual ferment. Too ugly to leave their basements for a gay bar or film festival, they sit at home all night on their PCs typing howlers in worship of their hero Keenan Houlahan. The comments at the leftoid RawStory are particularly laughable. The author manages not to know or report any of the facts I laid out (GOProud board may be mainly straights, Barron a Libertarian not supporting Romney, etc.). The insectoid readers continue on, discussing Log Cabin Republicans, which is (1) not GOProud, (2) a membership organization, and (3) has, I believe, not (yet) endorsed Romney. And of course these poor anencephalic poofters (no doubt doubly anencephalic, actually) begin barking about how white gay males who are part of the 1% identify with the ruling class, even as these leftoid pole smokers defend their master’s use of predator drones to kill gay children in Arabia, his placing of gay and lesbian Americans on his Presidential kill list, and his bailout of crony capitalists who control the Federal Reserve System. And even while gay white male Keenan Houlahan strokes these sheeple and laughs all the way to the bank and his White House dinners with their money.

Good thing so many of them will not breed.

What’s the big fuss all about… GOProud paid Ann Colter to insult them before so … oh I get it its only ok if GOProud pays for it, that way they know they ware going to get insulted…. In that case Dan, invoice GOProud and they will go back to being the toilet tissue for the republican party… catching shit always.

    • David

GOProud paid Ann Coulter to insult who exactly? Last time I checked, they paid her to appear at their convention – she took a lot of flack from the religious right from it but stood her ground because she believes in the GOProud platform. Coulter went on several talk/news shows and defended her appearance at the GOProud convention. If Coulter insulted anyone, it was the religious right for not listening to Reagan’s words about the “80% ally”.

  • David

This surprises who actually? Dan Savage is and always has been a bully of the first degree. Specifically a progressive liberal bully. Like all progressive liberal bullies, he is a religious fanatic regarding his agenda and his belief system. While on the one hand attacking anyone who disagrees in general with the progressive policies of the gay community, he is not below using the exact same tactics he is against to push his own on the other.

  • TJay229

    Uh need u be reminded…

Jimmy Lasalvia used the word “Factor” in his vent of a tweet this year. So Ms.Pot meet Ms.Kettle

Second, Ann Colter got paid… so if they paid that low life to stand there and insult them and they thought she was their “diva”, then that shows how foolish they are. All that “BB” (Basic Broad) did was collect a paycheck.

Dan told the truth, and as always, the truth hurts.

  • TJay229

For all that act as if Dan Savage has committed a horrible crime, Lets look at what GOProuds “Judy Garland” Ann Kotex, I mean Colter has said :

    Exibit A;

    Exibit B:

    and Lastly

    Exibit C:

And you Republicans Holier than thou sleeze balls want to point fingers, get a grip

    •!/sarahbellumd sarahbellumd

it might interest you to know that we’re not exactly coulter cheerleaders here:

      exHibit A:

      exHibit B:

we call out brutish, bullying behavior when we see it. our grip is just fine, thanks.

    • David

Yeah, you missed the point. Savage DID commit a horrible crime: hypocrisy.

When it comes to Ann Coulter, we take her exactly as she portrays herself: a bomb thrower. We know she is caustic. She believes SHE is caustic.

Savage, however, has always claimed to be above that and has lambasted people like Coulter (including Coulter herself) for those exact comments you posted.

Now, the hero of the gay left who cracks down on bullying has been caught doing exactly what he’s been preaching against.

So, which is worse: a caustic right-winger who holds nothing back or a liberal hypocrite who chastises people one moment for doing something he considers wrong and then turns around and does it himself when it fulfills his own agenda?

Again, it all comes down to: “All animals are equal, some are more equal than others”.

Hypocrite, thy name is Dan Savage!
