Upon learning of Aretha Franklin’s death, Donald Trump reportedly described her as such:
Per White House pooler @tparti – President Trump on Aretha Franklin's passing
"Described her as a person he knew well and who worked for him."

That’s understandably raising quite a few eyebrows:

It seems reasonable to ask what exactly Trump would’ve meant by that.

Heh.
Maybe he thinks it is Omarosa?

We sincerely hope not.
2. I'm assuming Queen Aretha, at some point, did a show at one of Trump's casinos..I can't figure out any other way she would have worked for him and of course I can't fathom why anyone would make that reference on the day one of the most important women in music passed away.

Actually, there may be something to that:
I assume Trump's "worked for me" line refers to Aretha Franklin performing at his casino in AC https://t.co/vmTVBS6YGV

Hopefully that’s what he meant. At least that would make the whole “worked for him” thing slightly less weird. Only slightly.
