Shaquille O’Neal wants to be the next general manager of the Orlando Magic.
Yes, that Shaq.
Yes, the same Orlando Magic team that he spurned on his way out of town in 1996.
(feels like this part needs to be reiterated)
..yes, THAT Shaq.
According to sources, O’Neal is expected to meet with the Magic as early as next week to discuss the team’s open general manager position. Orlando fired GM Otis Smith last week along with head coach Stan Van Gundy.
Smith’s shoes aren’t exactly of the “big ones to fill” variety, but if there ever was a person to fill them Shaq’s size 23 should be more than enough.
Unfortunately, no one seems to be taking this rumor seriously.

And why should they? Just as of yesterday he was tweeting things like that.
If Shaq were to be "GM" of Magic franchise, Nets make trade for Dwight Howard with generous offer of many donuts.

Not even going to entertain the latest Broussard "report". Shaq as Magic GM? Not in this world. Not in any world. Next rumor please.

I'm all for Shaq as Orlando's GM. Gets him off the TNT set.

Wait until Shaq finds out that when you become a GM the job requires that you actually have to work. That could be a problem

I hope Shaq's car holds up when he goes for that GM interview, driving over all those bridges he burned on his way out of Orlando.

@johnhollinger new potential Shaq nickname time? "The Big Disaster"?
— Kevin A. (@allisauce24) May 23, 2012
@johnhollinger That way Shaq can show Dwight how to leave the Magic properly.
