When Rep. Todd Akin appeared on Sean Hannity’s radio show yesterday, the host urged him on air to drop out of the Missouri Senate race. With a deadline to withdraw from the race looming, Akin returned to Hannity’s show today, and certainly didn’t sound like someone who was going anywhere.

Here are a few items to get her started: Some Republicans say Rep. Todd Akin should step down; Updated Romney-Ryan campaign: ‘We disagree with Mr. Akin’s statement’ Romney: […]

Minn. Rep. Todd Akin has been announced as a guest on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight.” Earlier in the day, CNN had tweeted that Claire McCaskill would share her reaction to Akin’s comments on the show. However, the link embedded in the tweet appears to be broken. She says she was "stunned" by the comments of @RepToddAkin. […]
Politico’s David Catanese has been removed from covering the Todd Akin story after posting a series of tweets hypothetically defending Akin “for argument’s sake.” Catanese’s tweets, covered by Twitchy last night, had some calling for his firing, but for now it appears that Catanese will remain, albeit not on the Akin story. Catanese says he’s […]

During a revoltingly racist 2008 rant, D-list comedian Sandra Bernhard said Sarah Palin was a “whore” who would be “gang-raped” by her “big black brothers” if she visited New York.
Four years ago, rape was a punchline.
But yesterday, the vile Bernhard decided her pro-women credibility was somehow still intact. She joined other liberal celebs and many Republican Twitter users in condemning U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin for saying that women rarely get pregnant from “legitimate rapes.”
We don’t think the science is on Akin’s side — pregnancy resulting from rape is not uncommon — but give Catanese credit for showing a bit of independent thought. Unfortunately, his thoughts didn’t go over so well with the leftist herd.
In the wake of Rep. Todd Akin’s “legitimate rape” comments, some Republicans are urging Akin to step aside for another Republican candidate. One of those calling on Akin to step down is Patrick Ruffini, a GOP strategist. Ruffini says that Akin can withdraw from the race prior to Tuesday August 21st at 5:00 p.m. His […]
Last week was a rough one for the Left’s favorite RINO, Meghan McCain. She made the mistake of saying nice things about Paul Ryan, which understandably caused a lot of her leftist fans to freak out. Not to worry. Rep. Todd Akin’s “legitimate rape” comments provided the perfect opportunity for McCain to do what she does best […]

On the issue of “legitimate rape,” Rep. Todd Akin is exactly the same as Rep. Paul Ryan. Or so Debbie Wasserman-Schultz would lead us to believe. His full statement: “As a member of Congress, I believe that working to protect the most vulnerable in our society is one of my most important responsibilities, and that includes protecting both the unborn and victims of sexual assault. Leftists have spent much of the afternoon criticizing and mocking Rep. Todd Akin, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Missouri, who made poorly-worded comments about “legitimate rape.” Alas, a few liberals are taking it too far.
