You’ve got to read this to believe it all. Obama administration Brandon Friedman of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development public affairs office (and formerly an official at the Department of Veterans Affairs) took to Twitter to launch another attack trial balloon on the troops on the ground who’ve been blowing the whistle on Bowe Bergdahl’s abandonment of post.

Cliff Notes version of the latest desperate White House spin: Bergdahl’s colleagues are all psychopaths.

He’s putting the blame for Bergdahl’s betrayal on the rest of his platoon. Insane in the membrane.

Yep. After spewing wild speculations, Friedman calls for “withholding judgment.”

More on crapweasel Friedman’s partisan hackery as a VoteVets officer via vet J.R. Salzman:

These henchmen have no shame. Taking their cue from the top.

All in the jackass family:

Nail on the head here. Watch for it:

Going nuclear on their critics…and having it blow up in their faces again. They just can’t seem to help themselves.

Good point. He didn’t just float it. He planted the seeds.

And as always, there are no coincidences in Chicago-on-the-Potomac.

Check out the scrub job Friedman did on his Twitter bio.

‘Wow!’ And so it begins: White House smears vets, claims ‘swift boating’ of Bergdahl

I’m not a fan of such speculation, but…” [insert wild, baseless, insane speculation].

    • MyrmidoNOT

      …apparently this A$$HOLE owns a large speculum.
      [ Wait and see…breaking news to follow… ]

Any bet this dipwad will be thoroughly ‘spanked’…
when “teh oone” returns to the mainland. [ Nope. ]

    • Archer305

That is what I was rushing down the page to comment here. “SPECULATION BAD” followed by “what if THIS is what really happened, that makes his platoon mates *insert ad hominem attack here*” (take your pick: racist against Obama, right wing shills, liars, suffering from PTSD (that is the one I am waiting for the Leftie media to claim next), jealous of getting out of the military (heard that from a friend yesterday), etc, etc, etc

    • Apostic

Occam’s Razor cuts clowns like that to shreds.

    • Jay Stevens

This is related to the (generally) liberal media habit of “But some think that . . .” when they want to introduce their own ideas into the interview. It is just another way to throw poo on the walls and see what might stick.

  • TJCrane_NCC1701

So when I wake up tomorrow, Graham will draw a new RED LINE for Obama to cross so the Republicans can really, really write a strong freaking “memo” NEXT TIME !

As long as Mitch McConnell and John Boehner are behind it…..

    Comedy GOLD Jerry !

    • Czechchick76

And Obama will cross it just out of spite. Just to make graham look like the moron he is. GOP doesn’t have the sac for impeachment. BHO knows this. He’ll try to provoke that talk just to stir up his low info base

      • Jay Stevens

Impeachment is a two step process. First, the House votes on the articles of impeachment (the charges). If they pass, the Senate votes on conviction. Both steps require a 2/3’s majority.

Do you honestly think that this Senate under Harry Reid will ever vote to convict any Democratic president, let alone Obama?

        • Doug Leuthold

The I-word. No not with Crazy Harry as Speaker of the Senate if he is kick out of the Speakership and have change of parties it could happen…………

          • Vennoye

Ah so,……………Old Harry’s only loyalty is to shady deals that make him/his family money!!

          • budster981

Crazy is the best description of Harry Reid. Most likely he is suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy, caused by multiple traumatic blows to his head many years ago when he was a boxer. When he dies his family should definitely submit his brain for intense examination to the CTE Center at Boston University. He has to stop awakening at 3 am in order that he can speak to an empty Senate Chamber. Maybe he has a legitimate excuse for his Senate rants and rages.

      Quote =

Bergdahl Snuck Off Post to Join Taliban; At Least Six Good Men Died Trying to Find Him =

Bergdahl was the only living POW held by the Taliban. He was captured by the Taliban in 2009 in Afghanistan. Here is the “truth” about how he was captured, and how 6 good men died trying to find him, from someone who was there.

      Via Stormbringer:

“From a friend who was there:

‘We were at OP Mest, Paktika Province, Afghanistan. It was a small outpost where B Co 1-501st INF (Airbone) ran operations out of, just an Infantry platoon and ANA counterparts there. The place was an Afghan graveyard.

Bergdahl had been acting a little strange, telling people he wanted to “walk the earth” and kept a little journal talking about how he was meant for better things. No one thought anything about it. He was a little “out there”. Next morning he’s gone. We search everywhere, and can’t find him. He left his weapon, his kit, and other sensitive items. He only took some water, a compass and a knife.

We find some Afghan kids shortly after who saw an american walking north asking about where the taliban are. We get hits on our voice intercepter that Taliban has him, and we were close. We come to realize that the kid deserted his post, snuck out of camp and sought out Taliban… to join them.

We were in a defensive position at OP Mest, where your focus is to keep people out. He knew where the blind spots were to slip out and that’s what he did. It was supposed to be a 4-day mission but turned into several months of active searching. Everyone was spun up to find this guy. News outlets all over the country were putting out false information. It was hard to see, especially when we knew the truth about what happened and we lost good men trying to find him.

PFC Matthew Michael Martinek, Staff Sgt. Kurt Robert Curtiss, SSG Clayton Bowen, PFC Morris Walker, SSG Michael Murphrey, 2LT Darryn Andrews, were all KIA from our unit who died looking for Bergdahl. Many others from various units were wounded or killed while actively looking for Bergdahl. Fighting Increased. IEDs and enemy ambushes increased. The Taliban knew that we were looking for him in high numbers and our movements were predictable. Because of Bergdahl, more men were out in danger, and more attacks on friendly camps and positions were conducted while we were out looking for him.

His actions impacted the region more than anyone wants to admit. There is also no way to know what he told the Taliban: Our movements, locations, tactics, weak points on vehicles and other things for the enemy to exploit are just a few possibilities.

The Government knows full well that he deserted. It looks bad and is a good propaganda piece for the Taliban. They refuse to acknowledge it. Hell they even promoted him to Sergeant which makes me sick. I feel for his family who only want their son/brother back. They don’t know the truth, or refuse to acknowledge it as well. What he did affected his family and his whole town back home, who don’t know the truth.

Either way what matters is that good men died because of him. He has been lying on all those Taliban videos about everything since his “capture”. If he ever returns, he should be tried under the UCMJ for being a deserter and judged for what he did.

Bergdahl is not a hero, he is not a soldier or an Infantryman. He failed his brothers. Now, sons and daughters are growing up without their fathers who died for him and he will have to face that truth someday.’”

  • cheechakos

Everyone must admit this administration has a good imagination. They use it constantly
Too bad for him, the Taliban have repeatedly proven they are the psychopaths

  • Mac Abee

First it was that Bergdahl’s unit was swift boating him. Now it’s that Bergdahl’s unit was filled with psychopaths. Why doesn’t the administration come out, call them baby killers, and we’ll officially have gone back in time to the Vietnam war. Then we can spit on soldiers as they come back to the US after their tours of duty. There you go: Obama Approved Beliefs.

    • Republicanvet

These fracking idiots seriously underestimate what those who served with Bergdahl, or those who died trying to find him…

They WILL NOT roll over after some smarmy little Spite House hack tries to smear them.

      • Mark81150 Never/Trump/Hillary

Did these flacks just assume the huge number of troops who knew the real story would just swallow it and stay silent?

This was doomed to break from the start… and obastard’s answer is to send his idiot posse out to smear the guys who did serve honorably?

On what planet do these obama asskissers think they live on?

This ain’t 1943, he doesn’t get to silence and reign in any other narrative but his own anymore. He doesn’t get to malign, impugn, dishonor, abuse and maltreat the ranks and expect blind obedience.

QUOTATION: ” A Republic, if you can keep it.”
            AUTHOR: Benjamin Franklin

          • Thale Taxurfeet

I posted that quote with a link to for reference several hours ago. It’s only a couple of comments up/down stream, depending on your [Newest/Oldest/Best] Sort by selection preference.

          • TexSizzle

“The Military is bound by law along with each officer and enlisted individual’s oath to protect and defend the Constitution…”

… from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

            … and domestic.

            … and domestic.

            … and domestic.

          • Thale Taxurfeet

“”The Military is bound by law along with each officer and enlisted individual’s oath to protect and defend the Constitution…”

… from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

            … and domestic.

            … and domestic.

            … and domestic.

Thank you for belaboring the domestic piece of the oath even though I’m well aware of the language of the oath I swore. I’m sure you noticed the ellipsis with which I ended that sentence.

To be clear let me ask, are you suggesting members of the U.S. Military past and/or present should do something that is within the power of the Congress, the SCOTUS, and the citizens of this nation to address Constitutionally and legally?

          • TexSizzle

I’m saying that if necessary, they need to defend us from domestic enemies; nothing more. Those who willfully violate the Constitution they swore to uphold when they were sworn in after their elections appear to me to be domestic enemies. Read into it what you will.

          • Thale Taxurfeet

            Thanks for the clarification Tex.

I try not to assume or put words into others mouths. That’s why, if you happen across my comments, you might notice every now and again I’ll ask a commenter for clarification.

If TSHTF, I believe those current and former members of not only the U.S. Military, but Law Enforcement who value their oaths will stand against any enemies of the Republic. Both foreign and domestic. Maybe not all, but enough will.

“Those who willfully violate the Constitution they swore to uphold when they were sworn in after their elections appear to me to be domestic enemies.”

I wholeheartedly agree. And if enough of the citizens of this nation pay attention and raise sufficient H3!!, they will be dealt with, legally.

I would argue that you see those enemies using the creeping, incremental approach to chip away at the Constitution/BoR and our freedoms, because our enemies know that they do not have the numbers or the strength to effect a successful coup against We the People.

On this 70th anniversary of D-Day Tex, I wish you a good day. Our fight has not yet gone hot like it was for our grandfathers/fathers/uncles in WWII. Let’s hope we are smart enough to whip the bad actors without having to start shooting.

          • TexSizzle

This is why we need to be the well-equipped militia mentioned in the Second Amendment. The better-prepared we are, the less likely they are to try violence. Si vis pacem, para bellum.

I wish you a good D-Day also, and thank all those who served and are currently serving.

    • Servo1969

Make no mistake, these ideas are coming from the White House. This guy wouldn’t be offering up these comments without permission. Ask yourself, have I ever heard of this guy before? Why am I hearing from him now?

Obama and his people have gotten where they are by being masters of manipulation. Gaslighting, schmoozing, projection, etc. But they have finally ventured into an area which is completely alien to them. Obama despises the military and everything it represents. None of his people have ever had anything to do with the military nor have their parents or any of their friends. They don’t ‘get’ military people and they don’t understand them. And so, with no personal insight to go on, they are force to rely on instinct and assume they can treat military matters just like everything else; ‘Find the crack, reach in and tune it to your channel. Then watch people dance.’

Their psychological models and Machiavellian flowcharts are giving them the wrong answers.

      • Jon

Friedman was chosen because he’s ex-military, and in the White House’s mind, having an ex-military guy slur Bergdhal’s platoon leaders as psychos is OK, because they can spin him as having some sort of Cindy Sheehan-like ‘Absolute Moral Authority’ to say anything he likes about anyone in the military who causes the Obama Administration problems (and which can then be parroted around by non-military people in the administration and in the supportive big media as a legitimate accusation, because it was made by a former military guy).

        • Mark81150 Never/Trump/Hillary

Except there few progressive minded troops, very few,, democrats sure.. but raging left wingers?.. damned few.

and like that idiot Jimmy Carter, you can be a fool and make it through the service, and exit just as big a fool..

these left wing vets are about as useful for predicting which way vet opinion will break, as feathers on a cat..

they don’t understand the enlisted ranks any better.

Let alone spec ops people or the full officer corps.

they may have been in, but they never internalized the ethic he now mocks on the air.. so he’s useless.. if he had any brains at all, any honor, he’d have told these obama minions to stuff it before attacking those men..

that he did not, shows he was never really one of us..

          • Jon

Left wing ex-military people are treated by Democrats like left-handed pitchers are in Major League Baseball — there aren’t that many, so any one that they think can be effective for them is treated royally.

It’s the same reason the Democrats had to put Tammy Duckworth on the Benghazi committee, because they need a former military person to criticize the entire proceeding in order to give those accusations ‘gravitas’ (though at the moment Duckworth seems legitimately mad at Team Obama over the VA debacle, the point she may only cover Hillary’s keister on the Benghazi flustercluck and could hang Obama and the others in the White House out to dry).

        • The Marathon Man

He was also chosen because he looks like a Lil’ Barry Administration ferret / weasel per his Twitter pic, so he can satisfy the flaming libtard voting bloc as well.

Swift Boating (verb): to reveal truths about a soldier that do not fit the narrative being sold by the Democratic party and the media.

But now that he and his regime have these honorable soldiers who dared to speak up and risked their lives looking for this guy in their crosshairs, I’m convinced it was never nothing more than a big intentional middle finger to all who have served. Shut up and salute!

As one of several defense mechanisms I’ve deployed to try and deal with this fool of a president, I too laughed at much of it… right up until I had to laugh at something new and even more outrageous everyday than the previous day’s offense, and then the laughing started to hurt. Not only did Obama need to break the law, he couldn’t resist smiling as Bergdahl’s father proclaimed the battle cry for Islam on the front porch of the White House. Literally spitting in the faces of these Gold Star families may have been a less insulting choice, but he clearly wanted to hit them where it hurt most.

      • David

I have tried to do the same. Not particularly religious, in recent weeks I pray daily for our beloved nation.

    • Servo1969

Obama: ‘Watch this. I’m gonna trade five Taliban ‘generals’ for one ‘hero.’ The middle-America chuckleheads will eat this s- up. Swish! No more VA problems!’

“Let me be clear: I was as angry when I heard about this as you are.”

  • BAW

There is literally no one, no one they will not smear for their petty political purposes.

Problem is the majority of Americans (unlike the left) honestly do truly respect the men and women who serve in our military.

There’s a reason the Democrats “say” they support the troops.

What a [email protected] fool! So every individual who served beside Bergdahl could have been a psychopath, including not only those killed looking for this POS, but every individual above them who did not recognize the psychopaths under them?

So they should have been dishonorably discharged for being so deranged?

Yet Bergdahl is a hero who served with honor and distinction?

      You sir… broke the interweb…

I salute your skill….. that was awesomely done.

  • Kristine ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

If you read the 2012 Rolling Stone article it definitely shows there were issues in the platoon. They were written up for being undisciplined and disorganized more than once.

However, that does NOT make the guys speaking out now “psychopaths”. That’s just going too far. If he had left that tweet out, the rest would be more credible as he’s pretty much just quoting the 2012 article.

But reading that “psychopaths” tweet? My jaw dropped. That just screams massive desperation to me.

And Bergdahl is STILL a deserter. That’s what matters. They can spin all they want. Other platoon guys could be jerks, but they’re still not wrong.

    • Mark81150 Never/Trump/Hillary

Let’s be honest here, Rolling Stone is hardly an unbiased source, they have written quite a bit of wildly inaccurate stuff about the military… was there a unit discipline problem?.. did the Army confirm the write ups?…

Plus, surrounding units gave their views when called in to help in the search. He was known to many of them as well, and they weren’t having desipline issues..

and if his only defense, is Rolling Stone’s excuses.. and his own asshatery to make his response the only sane one….

The Army, and National Security have had problems with Bowes story from day one, have long suspected he defected..

this Obama flack had to know this.. because if he didn’t know any of it.. what in the Hell’s he doing running his mouth about it?

      • Kristine ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

        Read it. It was interesting.

And to answer your question, does filming it count?

“The unruly situation was captured by Sean Smith, a British documentary filmmaker with The Guardian who spent a month embedded with Bowe’s unit. ”

“In early June, after photographs taken by Sean Smith appeared in The Guardian, Bowe’s unit got reamed out by its commander for its lack of discipline.”

        • mrspinky85

I think your point that the platoon being unruly does not negate their assertions against Bergdahl is how I feel.
As a Squad leader, I have had to write up and discipline Soldiers. I also found that the hardest ones to deal with are those who actually don’t want be there at all. Either they had no discipline before they joined, had no real responsibilities, or just don’t fit with the culture. However, to discredit the platoon as psychopaths (are you a psychologist Brandon) is disrespectful.

          • Kristine ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Exactly. Being jerks or unhappy about a posting doesn’t make them psychopaths OR liars.

  • Aitch748

So the Spite House decides to let the Taliban have five of their top men back in exchange for one deserter — but it’s the people from the deserter’s units who were the psychopaths. Not the terrorists released, not the deserter — no, it’s the guys pissed off at seeing the deserter treated as a hero who have something wrong with them.

No, the real psychopaths are working in the Obama administration.

    • MyrmidoNOT

      …even worse…they are ‘sociopaths’…

Is there anything this administration cannot FUBAR?

    • MyrmidoNOT

      Yeah. Common sense…
They do not ‘know’ what it is

      Form of impractical sociopath(s).

  • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Here’s the thing about Brandon Friedman: What if he’s a smarmy little lickspittle in the Administration who, because of a previous connection with veterans’ issues, is to be deemed to have moral room to speak to this particular case as if he knows thing one about it? Which of course, he doesn’t, and so he resorts to “You jump to YOUR conclusions, and I’ll jump to MINE– both equally valid, since we’re ALL just spitballing here, right, folks?”

Given other examples in the Administration, it’s not out of the realm of possibility. I’m not a fan of such speculation, but this story could not be more unbalanced– with so many premature calls of “psychopath” from people who seem to embody that very trait themselves, pot/kettle.

    • MyrmidoNOT

Nah. I think we are being ‘played’…

    • OLLPOH ~ OurLifeLiberty

  • tops116 ✓Quipper

Asking legitimate questions (ones long asked by various military and intelligence officials) about Bergdahl and/or expressing your opinion on the matter? “YOU’RE PSYCHOPATH!”

Desert the military and go running to the Taliban? “YOU’RE A HERO!”

Hey, you know who are actual psychopaths? The five Taliban guys recently freed from Gitmo. Remind me, who was it who decided to let them out?

It is truly offensive and pathetic how far Team Obama will go to cover for that deserter and that brain-dead president. At what point will they actually start spitting on the troops?

“I’m not a fan of such speculation”

Said the guy who accused those of dissenting of being psychopaths.

  • Kenneth James Abbott

Well, they’ve been calling us terrorists already…

  • Maxx

I believe by Friday morning, liberals will be writing that the real reason Bergdahl bolted was because his platoon were capturing stray kittens and using them for paint ball practice. Afterwards, these kittens were roasted on a spit, dripping with the butter stolen from the locals.

The absurdity of their damage control effort warrants my snark.

  • Janice LEE

Sid Blumenthal lives. Didn’t they try this with Miss Monica? Didn’t work then, won’t work now.

  • Libertyworld

Yes, honey, I guess it is.

So basically, if this guy hears hoof beats, he’s the type that thinks “Ooh! Zebras!”

  • al hunt

he could have requested a voluntary separation at any time, he didn’t have to walk off like he was some high school kid working part time at McDonald’s!
I have a great amount of sympathy for the secret service trying to protect this moronic administration, this president and his lackeys go out of their way to get people to hate them!

  • Corey Dennison

    1st shot: Platoon not credible
    2nd: Platoon Swift Boating
    Now: Platoon ldrs were psychopaths

Pretty much sums it up; but at this point, I’m beyond being furious at this joke of a President / Administration–that just burns a person out. Now…I’m just curious where they’ll go next to defend this puke Bergdahl.

Following the blame arc, there’s precious little direction left to go but call platoon members extra-dimensional demons in league with the Koch Brothers and the Bilderbergers.

Seriously, the only limit seems to be their imaginations.

    • Perso Nasplit

They will try and sweep it under the rug. They will release another scandalous thing to try and draw attention away, like they did with every other scandal so far. It’s all they know, and for the most part, its working. Who is reporting on the VA scandal? Benghazi hearings? IRS targetting? NSA spying(other than germany)? What hole will they dig themselves into next?

      • Dan13

Wouldn’t it be nice if they did something to benefit America and all Americans in an attempt to direct our attention away from their incompetence and malfeasance?
        That is an option, no?

        • Perso Nasplit

Sure doesnt seem to, from either side.

Wow. Sounds like the progs have a huge kink in their party line. They better get back to the drawing board with this one.

  • Acethepug

Here’s the thing about Brandon Friedman. He missed his calling as Court Prostitute, but is making up for lost time now.

Brandon, where was this moral double- and triple-jointed nuance ever applied to GW Bush or the Right?

Ever heard of Occam’s Razor? Pretty sure Bergdahl is, in the most favorable light “just” a deserter, and at most cynical, a traitor.

But your job is to frantically spin to protect President Boyfriend, so it’s not like reality, integrity, or honesty play any part in your little rants, do they?

You are a perfect fit for this Administration, morally reprehensible, disgusting, and a hack.

  • FirstBoot

President Pantload is the psychopath…but by all means defame our brave men and women who actually took up arms to protect your sorry a$$. It’s what stupid progs do because cowardice is built into their DNA.

  • Karl H

ok so one of two possibilities.

    1) Barack Obama is the absolute stupidest President ever. Which there does exist the possibility that George Soros had a bet that he could take a nobody street thug and make him president.

    2) This administration is not that stupid and this “prisoner exchange was thoroughly thought through and it was decided that no matter how it played out it would provide good cover for something else.

What is going on right now that the Administration would rather take heat for this?

The EPA is bypassing congress to advance the anti-capitalism policies of the administration with a boatload of new regulations.

Vets have died by direct in action of the President.

The FDA is expanding their powers.

Obamacare is already coming apart at the seams and barely anyone is noticing.

Benghazi has been getting far too much traction. As well as the IRS scandal.

The President cant even go to West point and speak without coming off as a petulant child who is having a tantrum and know one, no even his lapdogs in the media can even figure out what the tantrum was about or what he meant by it. So no one can provide cover for him.

The list of truly impeachable offenses has grown exponentially…. I know it is a moot point because Bohner will never bring Articles of impeachment and there is not one single Democrat in the Senate that would allow an impeachment trial against “The one” (to make the point even more moot only about 1/10th of Americans even understand how impeachment works)

So what is the missing component? What have we not even heard about yet? What match are they trowing at the can of gasoline?

    • bicentennialguy

Speaking of gasoline, I paid $4.09/gallon yesterday. I would like to ask the coprolite Pelosi who are the oilmen in the White House getting rich now?

  • Dan13

These progressives are getting quite verbose. They need to standardize their responses.
    Let me give you examples.

    Concerning platoon members: Alinsky #4.
Concerning observations that Susan Rice is lying again: Alinsky #4.
Concerning Obama’s detachment to the real world: Alinsky #4.

See how much time I’ve saved you, progressives?
    You’re welcome…

  • kateorjane

This guy doesn’t want to “jump to conclusions” about someone identified in 2010 as leaving his post but he WILL jump to conclusions smearing the mental health of soldiers who did honorably serve their nation?

every guy in that unit was a crazed psycho, except the guy who trashed America and went for a stroll looking to find the Taliban?

And this cheesedick speaks for obama does he?

These idiots ignored every sane voice in national security, in their own party to make this moronic deal, then has the unmitigated gall to attack the men he abandoned in the field when they correct the WH spin on this lunacy?

America… this is the vile cult of personality you voted for, when the insane vanity of the precious is more important than the truth, then the reputations of real soldiers and patriots, who kept faith with their oathes.. with soldiers who have nothing to gain by telling the truth..

and the angry snarling viciousness of an embarrassed president sliming anyone who DARES point out the self agrandizing lies of the won..

all for setting the record straight..

this president and his simpering regressive tards are a disgrace and fully hate the men they are charged with caring for..

The military leadership role is not merely the troops must obey,.. it also involves that those committed to lead have a responsibility to those below them, to not dishonor them, not waste their lives..

This petty small minded president has failed both.. his political lieutenans have also joined in his faithless feckless dishonoring the men and women, he is duty bound to stand up for..

instead we get idiot minions sneering about Army psychos…

Conveniently ‘forgetting’ the non-disclosures the Platoon were ordered to sign and the discipline they demonstrated while Bergdahl was with his Taliban friends in not speaking up about his desertion.

Somebody get this Friedman tool a tissue…..

    • keyboard jockey

Obama administration Brandon Friedman of the Department of Housing and Department’s public affairs office (and formerly an official at the Department of Veterans Affairs).

This guy is part of a government pubic affairs office lol! Hey Obama’s poll numbers are dropping after VA scandal let’s attack and insult some Afghanistan US military war veterans/ that’ll help lol!

There isn’t a blue check next to his account so it’s not verified?

Brandon Friedman libels our combat soldiers on behalf of the regime while defending Bergdahl. He is an incredibly disgusting piece of slime.

  • bicentennialguy

Again, I ask, when is enough going to be enough? I guess it’s OK for the WHITE HOUSE to be vilifying American soldiers. American soldiers who did their duty, who served and did what was asked of them. They are being besmirched by their own CIC in regards to speaking out against a deserter or what we would have called in the Navy, a dirtbag.

    • carmenta

Truly, this makes me cry. For the men and women I know who are, right now, in Afghanistan, for their families here at home, waiting for them…

  • ZombieDachshund

VoteVets is running newspaper ads here in NC against Richard Burr and his VA proposal. Great group. Can see they take their leadership from this jackwad.

  • James Maloney

These are, of course, ridiculous. If it were just his command and fellow platoon mates who were the problem why would the Intelligence community and DOJ officials warned against trading for him as well? Obama and his lackeys are pulling out as many stops as they can for a “CYA” campaign. What I’m wondering is why Obama seems so worried about this, considering no one(IMO) in congress will have the guts to actually impeach him regardless of what he does. They’re all too afraid to impeach “The first black president” because they all know they’ll be labeled raciest if they even try. Were it a white president, regardless of party, he would have been impeached already.

    • keyboard jockey

What sticks out is this guy tweeting is part of a “public relations” department of HUD.

This guy has no clue how PR works.

      • James Maloney

What sticks out to me is this guy used to work in the Department of Veterans Affairs, so I guess it’s no surprise he’s trying to take the attention off his old resume entry.

        • keyboard jockey

He appears to have a chip on his shoulder where the US military is concerned. He has no respect for the institution. More so than the usual D.C. CYA.

Otherwise -special snowflake can empathize with the winter solider because he was one himself? That’s all I got out of his tweets.

There are extremely amateur/immature people -peopling this administration’s bureaucracies. It’s why the optics keep failing and getting worse.

Spot On kj. They’d love it if we’d all just shut up and walk away, or have a civil war, so he can declare Marshall Law, and confiscate every bit of protection that we have. . . . See, Barry isn’t a free man, because he lives in a really expensive luxury prison, and he has protection. . . He screwed up big time, this time, because, they just released 5 top Taliban leaders and the borders of Arizona, Texas, CA, NM are being overwhelmed with illegals, and he thinks we will allow them to biometric/chip us/ along with the military, because that is the only way they can keep track of the illegals here…It’s all CONTROL based.

We call our congressional persons every day… to impeach. . .
Everyday, and overwhelm them to do so. As he is daring them, to do so, because he thinks his skin is what is preventing it from happening, and b/c Reid holds the Senate.

The Tali-Alqai don’t care about anything except martyrdom, and could give a rats behind whether they are politicians or not. They drool to destroy Americans.

Obama’s poll numbers are falling so they are digging the hole deeper 6 months out from an election. Obama doesn’t like to fire people but these people aren’t helping the bad optics that have already been created by the lousy trade. They are (exacerbating) the crappy optics by pouring gasoline on the fire. It doesn’t make people forget the VA scandal it reminds people they have nothing but open contempt for the US military. And that’s incredibly stupid.

The most trusted institution of the US government is the United States Military. The military polls the highest among the American people. The junior varsity PR team isn’t smart enough to figure out you don’t attack what the American people revere. The American people don’t revere Winter Soldiers.

But let me tell you something honey, as a leftist you are NO ONE to lecture anybody on being an adult or character because the hallmark of your Alinsky philosophy is to eschew those traits in yourself and use them as a weapon against others.

Why would a HUD dude be commenting, you might as well ask some staffer at the federal agriculture office to give their opinion.

I’ll tell you why, because this yutz is a combat vet himself though he wrote a book detailing his disillusionment with the military after being an eager cadet.

He’s an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks to collect a bill. And so it begins.

I’d say, at this point, it’s looking like a coin toss that Obama will wait a month or so and then deep six any attempt by the military to court martial Bergdahl.

But even if he stays out of the military’s way on this, you can be sure that BB will be one of the many rancid names on Obama’s list of pardons when he exits office.

    • keyboard jockey

It’s up to the defense department’s discretion whether they prosecute Bergdahl, he doesn’t have to wait. They can simply decide not to bring charges as in you know he had PTSD or Asperger’s Syndrome some psyche excuse.

But the solider who killed those Afghan civilians was tried and found guilty of murder and he had a head trauma on his record and they sent him back to a combat zone. So how they square that circle – they prosecute in one case but not the other is going to be interesting to hear.

But remember these are the same people who don’t have a problem letting a Marine (Iraq war vet) rot in a Mexican prison while they traded Bergdahl for the Taliban dream team.

The optics are painfully bad and no one is apparently minding the store in the Obama administration PR department. His poll numbers are taking a hit because of it.

      • videosavant

At this point, he knows that more people every day recognize him for the psychopathic liar he is. And so, he no longer cares about poll numbers (and probably hasn’t since Nov 7, 2012).

Combine that with a GOP that is scared of its own shadow and a Senate leadership that is nothing but a tar pit of progressive beasts, and Barack Obama has no reason to feel in any way restrained.

I fear he’s just getting warmed up, and that we are in for a very long, and very dangerous 2.5 years.

        • keyboard jockey

I think they were sincerely taken off guard by the backlash over the trade for Bergdahl.

Lashing out at critics for an unforced error on the administration’s part isn’t “smart” politics. We are 6 months out from an important election, and attacking US war veterans because somebody in the PR department of the administration couldn’t figure out there would be a negative reaction to this trade – drives home the amateur tagging this administration has already been branded with.

  • Vinchenz

Keep on keeping on you unhinged military-hating Taliban-sympathizing democrats – keep it up – you are toast in the midterms – every republican should plaster this on very campaign ad they can – The Democrats hate our soldiers – ft hood, the VA, seal team 6, calling them psychos, and now traitor Bergdahl and the release of our enemies so that they can kill some more us soldiers.

Swiftboat? Hah. You ain’t seen nothing yet. You dems are all bunch of treasonous scum.

  • Steve Gregg

Should we give Team Obama more shovels so they can dig their hole deeper? Because it looks like Obama finally found a shovel-ready project here: slandering the troops in the service of a deserter.

  • jacqui8411

They keep talking about an investigation. I’m sure this situation has been thoroughly investigated. They just want to buy time. No thanks, I’ll believe the soldiers before I believe Obama, Susan Rice, Holder, Hilary, etc.

  • had enough

Was I picked up by some ferocious wind and deposited somewhere else? I simply DO NOT recognize America anymore. Right is wrong, and wrong is right. We celebrate the perverse and pervert the celibate. We cheer for deserters and trash the disciplined. We tolerate the intolerable encouraging our children to lie, cheat and steal to get what they want. We thrive on internet porn teaching our young men that women are to be used, and we teach our young women that their only value is in being used and then we throw “sexual harassment” out here to apologize for it. We reward our elderly for their years of hard work with derogatory terms that indicate they are freeloaders while taking the same tax money they paid in for years handing out food stamps, WICK and rental assistance and to every woman who doesn’t seem to know how to prevent pregnancy and every able bodied man who hasn’t worked a day in his life. We encourage unmarried uncommitted couples to “enjoy” sex as a recreational pursuit and then provide birth control abortions for the end result. We allow a leader who couldn’t lead a group of ants to a sugar hill to
determine our course of action and he continues to destroy America from within. Yeah, what a “great country”. No wonder the rest of the world despises America. WE can’t even figure it out.

    • mrspinky85

And all this while people complain, “What’s wrong with out society?”
We get feel good ideas that produce poor results, we reward mediocrity so those who don’t try hard can feel good and we punish success. We pick apart the Constitution that many have died and fought for while using it to protect the lies. We do not vet our leadership or excuse them because of characteristics like skin color that they have no control over.

However! America is still the land of We the People. They never would have even addressed the VA scandal if someone didn’t come forward. The POTUS backed off of Syria when the public made a fuss. So, through the storm is when we see the rainbow. We have hope when things are down not only when things are good. IT is our strong resilience, faith in a God that can do all things anytime, and our faith in each other to stand up. I served this country and with all the issues it is still the best.

We the People are in Charge and We the People need to remember that!

    • keyboard jockey

It’s too late for planting. This is really poor damage control after the fact. Muddying the waters would only work if Bergdahl had done this recently. This is 5 years old, and it’s been documented there is already a public record.

The “smart” stance, wouldn’t be to attack US war veterans. The “smart” stance, would be to remain neutral not take any position, and behave in a professional manner.

Obama want’s to save the rest of his term in office- he’s got to start cutting loose the incompetents. See above tweets, their actions and behavior are dragging down his poll numbers. The optics are terrible pouring more gasoline on the issue isn’t helping it’s exacerbating the public’s mistrust.

    • Squiddy

It’s already an article of faith among many in the Left that the military is populated entirely by:

      – poor, pathetic, oppressed minorities, who, desperate to escape poverty (itself the result of “white privilege” and racism), joined the military as cannon fodder, in a misguided attempt to get something to eat.

      – Psychopaths, who joined because they want to kill people.

      – Rapists, who joined to rape people.

You probably think I’m kidding – I’ve heard these memes from the mouths of several True Believers, they say these things to each other; and like parrots, they use the exact same words – they’ve been thoroughly propagandized.

So, what this guy is saying *will* be believed by the hard-core Obama supporters – because it tracks with what they already believe about the military.

      • Thale Taxurfeet

“It’s already an article of faith among many in the Left that the military is populated entirely by:

What if this administration were long on sociopaths and short on leadership? It’s not out of the realm of possibility–and more reason to demand immediate and unfettered access to all documents and communications regarding this “exchange”. I’m not a fan of such speculation but, this story could not be more unbalanced–with so many in the administration willing to disregard the statements and denigrate the honor of soldiers who served with true distinction to protect the undeniably worst POTUS in history.

Brandon Friedman can kiss my lily white ass.

  • Squiddy

Good lord – the only evidence I see of psychopathic behavior is in the shills who posit such desperate hypotheticals in an attempt to discredit shield the President from blame for this fiasco – they’re beginning to sound like Soviet-era Pravda reporting.

Hey, I can play that game, too – what if that guy (whose name I won’t even sully my keyboard by typing) decided to desert because he realized the President of his country was a fascist with dreams of becoming a dictator, so he fled to a less repressive regime, i.e. the Taliban?

  • Tom Francis

Here’s what is really weird about this – Brandon Friedman is a Iraq and Afghanistan veteran himself – an officer who apparently served with honor. So in effect, he’s calling himself a psychopath? Would that makes sense?

    • keyboard jockey

It’s not about making sense. It’s about attacking any critics of this administration – he’s politically partisan.

Guess what everyone. I remember, in 2010 when military people (on my base anyway) were so fed up with democrats that they voted right in droves. The military already votes right a lot now but the democrats are asking to loose the Senate in November. Please get the word out so we can take back the Senate in November and then focus on 2016. Enough is enough!

    • Squiddy

Military folks tend to vote Republican anyway, which is why every election cycle (particularly Presidential years) there’s a systematic, comprehensive attempt by the Democratic Party to suppress military voting.

Military absentee ballots are always sent too late, are lost, and thrown away because they have a pencil smudge, etc, and there’s generally a deliberate attempt to confuse service members on voter registration, eligibility, etc.

      • mrspinky85

Yea, its very hard while your away too to even know when its time to go vote too.
Well us veterans or on the right must put the BS aside and vote in November!

  • Gstephens

Remember, these are the people (administration) that are building a better country and world for us all. Yes, they, alone, built it.

As far as Bergdahl is concerned, if they can find just one “John Kerry” to testify before Congress about the murderous, psychopathic, ear-collecting U.S. Army, then we can get on with the Medal of Honor celebrations for Bergdahl.

      • Thale Taxurfeet

“Too bad Obama never did institute his National Civilian Security Force <snip> he might have stood a chance against the best fighting military force in the world, the US Military!”

Nope. Not a snowball’s chance. Not even against the civvies.

The last time I checked the DNR, NICS, and VA numbers for just my state, almost two years ago now, there were over 345k hunters, 400k CCW permit holders whose numbers have exploded since, and over 750k veterans.

        That’s but one State…

Never doubt that all of us in the old geezers seats in the American Legion, VFW, VVA, etc. still know how to getRdone.

The parasite liberals smearing patriots in favor of a deserter, Obama negotiating with terrorists, is beyond disgraceful!

  • Patrick Klocek

Finally a truthful comment from somebody in the Administration. I have no doubt that what we are seeing is an Administration that sympathizes with Bergdahl because it really does see anyone who doesn’t desert and possibly defect as being potentially psychopathic. Bergdahl is the poster-child of the Left and they don’t like their own getting slammed. Bergdahl would be at home in any San Francisco or Manhattan coffee shop.

I think Obama was hoping for a “I killed OBL moment” going into the Mid-terms. Summer is here. He needs to set the tone as Congress recesses and he needs to change the story from the VA. Susan Rice went out and did her thing. Now it is all collapsing like the ObamaCare website.

Mark my words: if Obama loses the Senate, he will become even more dangerous and rash as he sees his legacy and entire presidency ebbing away — a wasted eight years. Look for him to start “going long” to win his place in the history books. He will become even more desperate and even more anti-American. By the end of 2015, Democrats may even be on-board for impeachment.

    • Thale Taxurfeet

Agreed. And Jimmy Carter is relieved that Teh Won has already carved out a place several dozen places in the History books.

Neither Friedman nor any of the other White House toadies, flacks and hacks have ever served a day in uniform so their comments can be dismissed as the sophomoric, ill-informed ramblings of elite millennial “dudes” who have no clue of what they are speaking. I have a strong feeling that this will blow up in their face, especially among us who have either served or are currently in uniform.

Actually Friedman is reportedly a combat vet, but is obviously so disillusioned in his messianic protection of Obama that he actually attacks through the comfort of Twitter, the very men and women who sacrificed and would have died to PROTECT HIM! • Tom Winegar

Recently a retired general speculated on removing Obama from office but then deferred to the Constitution and law that he respects. The point being, I have never heard of a ranking officer even speculating on such an act which tells me that more than a few officers are actively discussing just that. My opinion is that if Obama were to attempt a coup of our government or continue to whack away at our Constitution powerful men in all of the branches would act to remove him with the intention of returning the country to it’s founding grace. The joint chiefs are at his behest but they also believe in America and would close ranks to assist in his removal.

  • Tom Winegar

Is Friedman a piss-ant, “LIKE” if you think he is. In my world a piss-ant is someone that is an annoyance as in a flea. leech or tick.
Definition of PISS-ANT = One that is insignificant; A word used to verbally abuse.

  • budster981

Friedman states ” Sieg Heil, Prezident Obama” which he supposedly founded only exists to siphon votes from the Vets to Obama. Now that he is accusing members of Bergdahl’s platoon as being “psychopaths” should be a strong message to all vets, that despite Friedman’s excellent military record, that he cares more about his own political beliefs than he does about the welfare of the vets. It is an insult to all veterans that the name “vets” is the name of his website. The veterans would be foolish to accept his derogatory statements.

  • MartinJeffries

You know if one guy… say a private came out and said something negative… Well perhaps it could be dismissed but when so many come out and claim he deserted and that is followed up by other credible information from other government and military sources, well then it does become an issue… I would doubt that his platoon, many of whom have been separated for years would all agree with the assessment that he deserted. Add to this, the men killed and this becomes pretty ugly.. And all to release 5 hardened terrorists…. In business, the CEO would be replaced by the board if he blundered this bad…
