The Boston Fire Department tweeted extensive photos and updates this morning on a parked Boeing 787 that caught fire on the runway at Boston Logan airport. Thankfully, the plane was empty and there were no injuries. Nice use of social media here by a major metro fire department:

At Logan, after the plane landed and all passengers had left the plane, a mechanic was doing a walk through of the 787 plane.

The mechanic noticed a light smoke condition increasing from the underbelly of the plane. He notified Massport Fire.
