Local reporters, ACLU activists, Occupiers, and residents are lighting up Twitter late tonight with the latest from Anaheim Under Siege.

Twitchy  told you yesterday about an eruption of community anger and violence after Anaheim, Calif., police reportedly killed two men in separate incidents.

The protests continued tonight amid chaos. And flaming dumpsters. And broken Starbucks windows. And Disney fireworks. Yes, Disney fireworks.

A protest over two fatal police officer-involved shootings was under way outside Anaheim City Hall Tuesday where the city council was scheduled to meet.

There were more than 100 protesters in front of City Hall before the Tuesday afternoon City Council meeting began. The meeting was delayed as a result. The meeting resumed by 6 p.m.

Anaheim Boulevard was closed in both directions at City Hall by the protest.

More than 100 police officers from Anaheim, Fullerton, Westminster, Brea, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach and Orange departments were on scene. Several arrests were reported.

There was a report that a Molotov cocktail was thrown at an officer at Elm near Anaheim Blvd.

An Arco gas station on Broadway was closed because crowd was gathering there amid reports that protesters were filling bottles with gas. People have been pushed out of the area and officers surrounded the gas station.

Tuesday’s gathering marked the third straight day of demonstrations in Anaheim since the shooting of Manuel Diaz.

A few sane voices weighed in:

But looks like they are outnumbered:

Wannabe anarchists cheered from the Twitter sidelines:

Anaheim Twitter users, both for and against the riots, have dubbed the whole mess #ANACRIME:

The home of the “Happiest Place of Earth?” Not this week:

Update 2:55am Eastern/11:55pm Pacific: The stand-off continues into the late night and early morning.

Starbucks is sacred to many of the protest sympathizers. This was an #ANACRIME too far:

The wannabe anarchists on the Twitter sidelines responded again:

It’s going to be a long night.

Yes, imagine:

As a community I agree we need to stand UNITED… But we need to stand UNITED in an APPROPRIATE and CIVIL manner. We need to get organized and begin an organized March right down Harbor Blvd starting at the police dept and head down to Disneyland. We need to hit the city where it’s going to hurt enough to make the city officials enforce a change. There’s no need to be throwing stuff and breaking windows and vandalizing the city we are trying to improve. Is all we are doing is giving the police justifiable reasons to keep up their gang propaganda and give them an excuse to shoot and injure more individuals of our community.

The APD has harassed me off and on the whole time ive lived there and if youre black or brown you know this has been a long time coming

I don’t know if my anecdotal evidence refutes or confirms what you’re saying, but I’ve been in Anaheim a couple times, as an adult (many more times as a kid), driving a 70s American vehicle favored as a lowrider in SoCal. (mine wasn’t actually lowered.) I got stopped both times. I do look somewhat hispanic, not ‘brown’, however both times I was given a ‘fix-it ticket’ for legitimate vehicle problems, (e.g. taillight)
I did feel (as the entire package, vehicle model and all,) that perhaps I was profiled.
Do I have any problem with this type of profiling? To the contrary.

I most certainly don’t believe I was harassed.

Now I live in Spain, and I get harassed for having a camera with me, and for having a uniquely large vehicle, more than profiled for being a foreigner. Or, maybe they can tell I grew up in Cali?

So move. That concept of mobility is what built this country. If you don’t like the way your community or area works or treats you, you are a free citizen able to go anywhere in the country that is better suited for you, your family and your life. Wrecking private property and putting more people in danger through such mindless mob violence is not the answer to grievances. When people protest a “shooting” by law enforcement by endangering others in an even more mindless way, what’s the point? Except for the few anarchists around the country, the rest of America looks at such nonsense with disgust – not sympathy or solidarity.

Yet more proof that racial diversity – especially when including “hispanics”, blacks and muslims – creates a degenerate 3rd world environment. And the White Trash Left just loves to take part in a good “F*ck Da Police” riot as well. The ghetto [lack of] culture swittly sweeping across all sections of American society (and beyond internationally) is really depressing to witness. It’s like watching a civilizational cancer spread. I’m seriously considering moving back to Norway or Japan to escape this kind of uncivilized behavior. The stupidity of the average American these days really blows my mind – just look at our current President.

Bullshit, it’s not the diversity, but the lefty values that screw up communities. In lefty-language, when you “love” and “organize” a “community” with “NOH8” you get this type of disparity, because you hold on to the HYPHENS harder than you hold on to the neighborhood or city itself. A truly organized community, in the older, proper sense of the word, has NO problem with true diversity.
      Political correctness kills.

(sorry to be crass, I know we actually agree with each other, it’s just that I’m sick of words losing their meaning. Diversity included.)

Y ≪La Raza≫ y sus racistas me la pueden mamar.

There should be a shoot to kill order. Kill every g o d d a m n one of them.

Apparently it’s okay to riot, but not okay for police to take action. #Anacrime in #Kalifornication. Yup – seems right.

  • BeeKaaay

So, how fast was the tea party blamed for this?

How about people protest the gangs and crime instead of the folks trying to bring order to civilized society? It’s easy to sit in the nosebleed section and hurl criticisms at the officers putting their lives on the line for the sake of the community

Now the whole world is listening so we’re putting the spotlight on the situation and THEY’RE on the defensive;POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!!

Dude can we let them have their own side of the country already. If so, I will work border patrol for free.

The illegal, freeloading minority spawn of California!

    Thank a DEMOCRAT!

  • Craig Schwarzbek

These aren’t real anarchists. These are punks who think that protesting is cool. We glorified the protesters of the 60’s and these kids think they are the of the same ilk. They don’t even know why they are protesting. You can’t even call it a protest. A protest has a cause and is only truly a protest when performed in a manner and place that the message of the protest will be heard and acted upon. Tearing up a Starbucks, setting fires, calling for people to attack. That’s juvenile disobedience. Nothing more.
