What sparked that excellent question? Oh, just Hillary Clinton’s latest foolish remark. Some background: Hundreds of schoolgirls were abducted by a jihadist terrorist group in Nigeria. Twitter users joined the worldwide protests, using the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls. More from CNN:

International pressure on Nigeria is mounting with protesters taking to the streets around the world to demand the rescue of hundreds of schoolgirls abducted by the jihadist terrorist group Boko Haram.

From Los Angeles to London, demonstrators carried posters reading #BringBackOurGirls — a campaign that began on Twitter following the mass abduction of the girls in April — and chanted “Bring them home!,” “Not for sale!” and “African lives matter!”

Hillary Clinton’s contribution?

Um, what? As opposed to the good reasons to target innocent girls? Hey, never let a tragedy go to waste, right Hillary? Even if it means issuing nonsensical statements.

Bingo.

A question for Hillary:

https://twitter.com/MissFyeRed_/status/462996617453240320

Boom.

And this Twitter user brings it all home with brutal truth:

But, you know, “what difference does it make?”

  • Pope Sparkles (F)

How far remove can you be from reality & still be relevant in politics? Hillary Clinton can show you how!

    • JosephBloughs ✓Viagrafied

Well, this far from reality for starters…

      • Archer305

And BO and HC WILL say these things for you for a nominal fee… and by nominal, I mean a couple trillion dollars.

    • Republicanvet

Why would anyone think she is grounded in any reality? She mentions this, which would lead any sane person to wonder, would she send the same help for these girls as she did for Benghazi?

      What a nasty cow.

      • Jay Stevens

” would she send the same help for these girls as she did for Benghazi?”

Yes. In fact, so far, it looks like she has.

        • Donald-Now2x/Sarc-w/0calories

OK, you win this round on Twitchy as far as I’m concerned. Well done sir.

    • trixiewoobeans

      …cause she ain’t no-wise tired, lol!

      • Gothguy

I see what you did there…:)

    • Seriously?

It is funny reading how Liberals claim to be so informed. Onyx wants everyone to know how smart he is by telling us he understands the enemy, because the name of the terrorist group means “Western Education is a Sin,” so the kidnapping of these girls is about “education” of women in general. This only shows how ignorant and bigoted some people can be. The operative word is “Western.” In other words, the terrorists are not against female education. They want females to be given a “Sharia education” not a Western one. But, to Onyx and his buddies the only kind of “education” is “Western Education.”

      • Ryan Schneider.

All focus should be on countering the pseudo-education of wahibist philosophy, but how many empty suits, (or skirts), even know what that means?

        • Mark Rushing

RLMAO.. Well said and unfortunately very true.

  • JosephBloughs ✓Viagrafied

If you stood up to terrorism it would be a first for you, Hilldebeast. Putting out a strongly worded tweet and sending an army to arrest a movie producer doesn’t count.

    • trixiewoobeans

She could have started with her husband’s WarOnWomen.

      • JosephBloughs ✓Viagrafied

She could have started with her husband‘s the WarOnWomen. … fixed that for ya

Good edit there Joseph. I knew someone could finally get it right.

  • helioquois

Jeez, Hillary…when given an opportunity to “bring back the boys” from Benghazi, you were remarkably AWOL. So where do you really stand against terrorism? Right…you put a C-grade movie producer in jail to assuage the grief of the dead’s parents and family. More empty words and deeds from the woman who would be President. Thanks, Grandma.

    • BlueGood

19 months & 4 days since four good decent Americans murdered in Benghazi and Hillary has done NOTHING except LIE to cover her butt & that of Obama.

Time & again, she’s shown her idea of dedication to American people….and it is actually only to herself and her ever shrinking circle jerk of friends….

A pox on you and your ILK CLINTON!

      • WillMan1

Circle jerk? I’m never going to be able to get that disgusting visual out of my head now, damn you! 😉

        • http://azconservativerants.blogspot.com/ DeeDee

How about Huma Abedin, mirrors on the ceiling and walls, and strawberry flavored ‘carpet cleaning’ fluid, suitable for hand application?

Heck, you were gonna go and get some eye and brain bleach anyway, thought I’d make it worth your time and effort

          =-)

    • Jay Stevens

“Right…you put a C-grade movie producer in jail to try to assuage the grief of the dead’s parents and family.”

Fixed it, although I doubt if it worked.

And the people (both there and here) responsible are still running around loose.

    • Michael Ruda

If you give him a C-grade you obviously didn’t even attempt to watch the “video”. I only watched about two minutes of it and there isn’t a grading scale low enough for that movie producer.

      • WillMan1

I realise it probably isn’t even worth the bandwidth it would require to watch it (ie., “it isn’t worth the paper it was printed on”), but I have been driving myself batty trying to find it.

I know, why should I bother, it would just be 15 minutes of my life that I could never get back, but I figure since Hillary used it for political fodder, I should be able to see it, right? (That, and some judge banned it, so I definitely HAVE to see it now)

Is there anywhere on the Internet where it is still around? (out of the US government’s reach, I suppose, if such a thing is even possible any more?)

PS: The movie script actually has a character named “Hillary” in it, as Mohammed’s (“George”) first (?) wife. Weird.

    • captaingrumpy

She put an AMERICAN in jail to save a TERRORIST LIFE.

  • HuandaRulz

I does “Take An Administration” to get this corrupt and non-sensical, her quasi courage is just determined by her desire to be praised and relevant. She is a disgrace.

  • Wag_a_muffin

Give Hillary some slack. I know that every time I read/hear about girls abducted and possibly killed/harmed/tortured, the first thing I think of is “access to EDUCATION.”

    • bgilman45

if you were paying attention you would know that this terrorist group has said outright that they do not want girls being educated and that is why they did this.

      • Jedd McHead

If YOU were paying attention you’d know Hillary is an insincere, arrogant, elitist gasbag who says anything she thinks will be politically expedient. She means nothing she says, however, because of complete lack of core values.

        • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Hillary being insincere is why she is why libs like bgilman want her as President so bad. Benghazi must have really impressed them.

        • Donald-Now2x/Sarc-w/0calories

“she says whatever someone TOLD HER would be politically expedient.” Fixed that for ya. You were spot on for the rest of it though.

          • Jedd McHead

Yeah, didn’t really need a “fix” there. I think there’s little anyone can “tell” Hillary. Like Obama I think she’s easily egocentric enough to believe she’s right about whatever inane, populist position she takes.

            Thanks for playing, though.

Here’s something to put into your verbal arsenal for the next couple of years. I saw an old man yesterday at Lowes. He had to have been mid 70s and he’d been to get flowers at the garden center. I saw the car he was putting them into and it had all the usual moonbat stickers on it.

As I passed him heading into the store I just asked, “Aren’t you a little bit old to believe in Democrats?”

      • surroundedbyidiots

Unfortunately, no. My folks are in that age range, and are fully committed! Remember, this is the hippy generation from the 60’s. Old dog, new tricks. You know.

        • grais

Have they not noticed that what they wanted doesn’t work?
Even Jerry Rubin saw the light. Sort of.
Good Lord, are they still trying to set up a successful commune?

      • Michael Ruda

He was probably a former union worker. You know Dems being for the working man and all……..

        • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

I’ve told this before, but I always think of it with union folks. My stepdad was a union pipeline welder for 50 years. They don’t work in winter unless they want to travel far south. So he took to buying rental houses as a hobby and investment. Gave him something to work on in winter.

One morning in summer, after he was pretty much retired, he was reading the morning paper (Charleston W.Va. Gazette – The Voice of Communism for the Mountain State). He started a rant about “bosses not wanting to pay a living wage…greed…workers…”

It was 7:30 and he already had a kid cutting weeds on a fairly steep hillside. I pointed to him and asked, “So are you paying him union scale and health benefits?” He gave me The Look. It was silent for a minute or so and he went back to reading the paper.

We didn’t talk politics again. He really lived his life as a Conservative, but he had heard the propaganda for his entire life and still thought Democrats were “for the working man.” When Dems refer to working Americans today they really mean non-working, illegal aliens.

          • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

My father, when he was a young poor kid just about to get drafted into WWII after having knocked around from one job to another to help feed his family in the late 30’s, having had to drop out after finishing middle school to do so, was told “Vote for the Dems– they’re the poor man’s party!”

To which my father replied, “Poor men like FDR, Bernie Baruch, Averill Harriman and Joe Kennedy, you mean?” He couldn’t always afford to BUY the newspaper, but he always managed to be able to read one, a habit he got ME into at a young age.

  • lgeubank

Well, you see, Hillary is running for President on a platform of being a certified wimmins. She’s all, “Oh noes! The clock is turning back on wimmins! It’s a crisis for the wimmins! And only I, a certified wimmins, can solve it!”

So she has to get out in front of any cause related to wimmins, and seem to be leading the parade. She can’t just remain silent.

Boko Haram opposes the education of women, deeming it contrary to sharia law, which is why they attack schools and kidnap girls and women. The name of the group literally *means* “Western education is a sin.” Their whole raison d’être is to deny access to education.

Kidnapping and killing is a great way to convince people that Islam is a religion of peace.

      • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Are you kidding? Terrorists killing people is the sole reason the left calls them the “religion of peace.”

        • twolaneflash

There’s nothing more “peaceful” than a graveyard, so Muslims are the world’s great peace makers.

    • CO2 Producer

Thank you for the over-140-character explanation of why Hillary Clinton felt the need to inject politics into the context of something where no civilized person gives a damn about the meaningless excuses given for abducting these girls, unless it pertains to a much greater problem that must be addressed in the Muslim world–in which case, she needs to just say it: “problem in Muslim society.” Enough of the politically-correct avoidance of calling it for what it is.

      • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Now, you see, she could have said, “Return those girls– NOW!”

It doesn’t give you the right to abduct over 200 girls. Don’t give us any excuses– AT THIS POINT, WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?”

      • bgilman45

I have no idea what to say to you if you don’t think “access to education” isn’t political. If this is just a statement from a small minority of Muslim extremists, why not just respond by saying, “There is no excuse any terrorist can give that is worth minding.” Bringing up “access to education” implies that she thinks there is a greater problem that must be addressed.

        • http://www.freedomreconnection.com/ FreedomRecon

I’m sure the parents of these little girls are sitting around wondering “WHY these terrorists kidnapped their little girls”….yep, that’s what they are thinking. And the little girls, while they are being beaten and raped, are thinking, “Huh, if only I knew the reason WHY, this would all be so much better, then I can focus on a real problem.”

        • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

They are terrorists. I know you lefties want a deep connection with terrorists, but the rest of us only need to know they are terrorists.

Besides, everyone knows their motivation is to kill the infidel. You can make a deep connection with terrorists if you want, but don’t turn around and pretend we’re the terrorist sympathizers.

The point, however, is she has NO authority to lecture ANYONE on whether education benefits Middle Eastern women (and clearly it does – viz. Ayaan Hirsi Ali, to whom I alluded earlier).

So, to you, disagreeing with Hillary means agreeing with the jihadists? Hmm, anyone else remember when dissent was the highest form of patriotism? I remember some shrew bitching about that in 2003. What was her name again?

      • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

I love how libs accuse us of loving Jihadists when they are the first ones to cry about the treatment of terrorists in GITMO. It wasn’t Conservative who wanted the FBI to let the Boston Bomber go because he “was cute.” It was left-wingers.

    • BoscoBolt

I’m not sure if you and Killary understand what has happened to these schoolgirls. They were not kidnapped in order to deny them an education – they were kidnapped and sold as wives (slaves/servants) to muslims, for about (2,000 naira) $12 each.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

So if we disagree with Killary we support terrorism? Then what do you call Hillary helping cover up and act of terror and refusing to bring any of the actual terrorists to justice?

    • Republicanvet

Yeah I can see her tweet helps so much.

Perhaps if she just tweeted, those slaughtered in Benghazi would be alive today.

      • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Instead all Killary had to say about Benghazi was “What difference does it make?”

    • drw

“spotlighting the reasons for the kidnappings”

“Reason” suggests justification, there can be none, period. Did you read her tweet? By recognizing, even indirectly, their stated/insinuated purpose lends it credence. Your and others explanation that there is a “reason” school age girls were targeted has no merit as there can be no reason or justification for the act. She is attempting to score political points by insinuating concern. She tempers her disappointment with those responsible by excusing their actions as having some justification based on their “religious beliefs”. Any sane individual would view this action as unconscionable. Both the abduction and Killary’s attempt to score political points.
The creatures responsible for the abduction are most likely common perverts and sadists who have found a convenient justification for their gratification. Her insinuation that there may be a deeper meaning serves only to soften the hearts of morons (like you) and other idiots without any firm grasp on reality and hide their true nature. I hate to be the one to break it to you but, not all “freedom fighters” are heart and soul committed to Islam. I would suspect that the majority participate out of fear, lack of vision, or lust for personal gain. Terrorists, after all, are merely criminals that have the great advantage of being romanticized by idiots, the press, and liberal politicians.
It saddens me beyond words to realize that there are people of supposedly reasonable intelligence that could convince themselves this situation contains even the remotest amount of justification.

What else does a witch have at her disposal?

  • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

Hillary is a nonsensical hag, and if she were President she’d probably offer the Jihadists weapons and money to bring the girls back. She’d pay first, and then blame Republicans when the terrorists don’t return the girls.

    • Maryland_Malcontent

Perhaps someday we’ll find out for what purpose she was offering the jihadis weapons in Benghazi…

  • BoscoBolt

These kidnappings had NOTHING to do with access to education.

‘Nigeria: Christian schoolgirls forced into Islam, sold to jihadists as “wives”, servants, sex slaves’

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2616437/Hundreds-girls-abducted-Nigerian-school-night-sold-Islamic-militants-wives-8-each.html

    • Nyota Uhura

So, leave it to Hillary, who magisterially pronounces it a failure of “education.” Thatisall.

    • Jake

You’re wrong. Do five seconds of research into Boko Haram. Their very name means “Western education is sinful”. They routinely bomb schools that dare to teach science and math because they see it as a threat. That’s what the girls were doing in class that day: they were taking their science exams.

Boko Haram has slaughtered thousands of teachers and students because they believe Western education is an affront to Islam, not to mention their belief that girls shouldn’t be educated at all. And that’s how they punish the girls that they don’t kill: they rape and torture them, then sell them off for as little as $12 to jihadists in neighboring countries. To say this has “NOTHING” to do with access to education is absolutely ridiculous.

The real story here shouldn’t be Hillary’s tweet. It should be the fact that until late this week, this story has been largely ignored by the US media and other Western media outlets. Thousands of hours have been wasted talking about that damn airplane. Not the victims of the crash or their families; the actual physical plane. But until late this week, two whole weeks after those poor girls were kidnapped, the media wasn’t paying any attention. Shame on them. That’s the real story you should be outraged about, Twitchy.

      • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

True enough as far as the indictment of the MSM goes. We’re way too concerned with what some billionaire bozo told his chippie and how he’ll have to sell his ballclub. You know, the important stuff, not that irrelevant nonsense of over 200 BLACK girls being sold into a form of slavery that persists into the 21st C., while we wallow in stories about how Sugar Daddy’s remarks are a vestige of our hideous legacy of slavery in this country.

It’s enough to make me throw my hands up in despair sometimes and say, “Take me any time, St Pete– there’s nothing here I think I need to stick around for.”

        • Jake

Amen to that. Stories like Sterling and the missing plane get beat to death because they’re easy. They’re the junk food of news stories. No disrespect intended to the lives that were lost on that flight. That aspect is tragic. But the hour after hour after hour on a floating piece of plastic that might have come from the plane? Just stop.

What happened to those girls, a mix of Christian and Muslim students, should be cause for global outrage. That their parents had to raise money to form a search party because their government wasn’t doing anything to help should be a global outrage. That we continue to dance around the subject of Islamic extremism and its wretched, abhorrent treatment of women should be a global outrage.

But a fat old billionaire said something racist, so I guess the global outrage will have to wait, even though those girls are desperately running out of time.

          • Republicanvet

How much of the lack of interest in covering terrorism in the world is an attempt to protect Obama from his silly statements about al Queda being on the run? That they have been decimated?

He took a victory lap and decided terrorism is not an issue any longer, but in fact it has been exploding everywhere…and the media ignores that it continues to grow.

          • Jake

I think the media ignores terrorism for the reasons I stated above. Terrorism is a story that requires work. It’s not a junk food story. It requires boots on the ground and people with a working knowledge of what’s going on. It’s not something that can be covered by a newsreader. Does MSNBC choose not to cover terrorism because they think it’ll shine a bad light in Obama? That’s possible. But what is Fox News’ excuse for ignoring the terrorist attack on the Nigerian girls?

        • Jake

They’ve been trying. There have been numerous petitions and tweets to the three major cable news outlets. CNN just sent a reporter to Nigeria to cover it on Friday, almost three weeks after they were kidnapped.

          • Republicanvet

Why have none of these leftist news organizations not asked questions daily in their White House press dog and pony shows?

          • Jake

That’s an excellent question, and one that has been tweeted to reporters dozens of times, with no response. The closest we’ve come to any official statement from anyone in power is a joint resolution from the House condemning the attack, along with individual members of Congress releasing statements. But to the best of my knowledge, neither Carney nor the President have been asked about it, and they haven’t offered any statements of their own volition.

          • Republicanvet

Oh Reaaaalllllly. So Killery is playing self serving catch-up to those in the House?

So it’s not just Fox News (shown as false) not covering the problem huh?

Why would the Spite House ignore such an issue?

          • Jake

Hillary should have commented a long time ago. Also, Fox News posting Associated Press stories on their website is not actual reporting. It’s the AP that’s doing the reporting and FNC doing the linking. Same goes of any news outlet that does the same. As for why the White House is ignoring the issue, I don’t know why and would like an answer.

It’s been fun sparring with you, Vet, but I have a dog who’s going to jump through the window if I don’t take her for a walk. I hope you have a good evening.

Take your pooch for a walk Jake. I can say I appreciate your honest comments without devolving to a childish level of response.

It has truly been shocking and disgusting seeing comments from the left the past several days on how little they care about those killed in Benghazi.

          • Jake

I agree with you. It’s disrespectful of the men who gave their lives and of their families. We need to be better, not just as human beings, but as citizens of this country.

And now, to the dog park!

      • Republicanvet

Ah, the media just won’t cover something. Sorta like not covering Fast and Furious, IRS targeting, and Benghazi.

I find it interesting that liberals are suddenly raving about terrorism. Killery’s campaign must have put out some strategy. I’ve seen more concern for terrorism from leftists in the last 24 hours than I have in the last 4 years.

        • Jake

You’re assuming there aren’t any liberals who care about Benghazi or Fast and Furious. You would be wrong.

          • Republicanvet

No, I wouldn’t. Can you name any leftist politician that has publicly expressed any concern over those issues?

          • Jake

When referring to liberals, I’m talking about the American public, not the politicians. I think it’s well established that politicians rarely represent the true wants and needs of their constituents.

          • Republicanvet

Again, BS! Look at the threads over the past week here on Twitchy, or the comments of liberals on news articles anywhere on the web on the email that was just released. EVERY comment is some snarky and disgusting crap that dishonors those killed.

I have seen a LOT of disgusting conduct from the left over the years, and this is right at the very top. Vietor’s comments, Hairy Roid’s spokesman’s comments and leftist response to those are just disgusting.

            OWN IT!

          • Jake

And again, I said you’re acting like there are no liberal who care about Benghazi. and that’s not true. It’s the broad brush problem. Are there liberal who have made disgusting comments about Benghazi? Absolutely, and shame on them. But it’s not every liberal. It’s like accusing all Republicans of being racist when only a few say stupid things. It’s defeatist.

          • Republicanvet

I wish you could provide examples of that then because every comment I have ever read since Ben Rhodes email came out showing White House involvement in covering this up has shown a childish desperation to make fun of anyone questioning the issue.

  • Bill Phillips

Isn’t it ironic that the anointed Femi-Nazi banner bearer …Hillary rose to stardom on the coat-tails of her ex-POTUS husband …after starting her political career this way:

Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedy’s chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair. When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation – one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman’s 17-year career.

    Why?

“Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in an interview last week. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”

And there is that notorious VRW Conspirator Carl Burnstein’s appraisal of Hill.

” “Since her Arkansas years [I wrote], Hillary Rodham Clinton has always had a difficult relationship with the truth… [J]udged against the facts, she has often chosen to obfuscate, omit, and avoid. It is an understatement by now that she has been known to apprehend truths about herself and the events of her life that others do not exactly share.” [italics added]

    As I noted:

“Almost always, something holds her back from telling the whole story, as if she doesn’t trust the reader, listener, friend, interviewer, constituent–or perhaps herself–to understand the true significance of events…”

Obviously she was talking about Boko Haram in Nigeria, but she deliberately didn’t say that, because Boko Haram terrorists are both black and Muslim. Both blacks and Muslims are components of the Democrat-left coalition. You think Hillary is tweeting on her own? She’s just sitting around and tweeting? Lolz….

  • Kenneth James Abbott

It is to translate? From other the language!

  • Bob

Geez… you are part of the administration running the (for now) most powerful country in the world. You want to “bring back the girls,” then just send in Delta Force.

  • SometimesWise

To her credit, she is referring to the fact that Boco Haram (sp?) loosely translates as “western education is evil” or some such nonsense, and the girls were kidnapped from a school.
That said, her record of bringing people home safe, and the fact that when she DID have the power to DO SOMETHING she didn’t, and the fact that she doesn’t really have any power at all at the moment….well, yeah.

She has the same “record of bringing people home safe” as Capt. Ed Smith.

KILLARY, “what difference does it make now”?

If certain attributes somehow entitle a person to a position or wage, then liberty does not exist because someone else has been empowered to position them via subjective judgment.

OMG, Hellary! That’s putting the fear of the hashtag in them! Pffffffffffftttttt

  • Charles Kunold

Hillary needs to do the Atkins diet or something. If she get’s any bigger she’ll get those stupid pant suits from Omar the Tent maker. She might also to a place called a gym and work out. The closest she’s gotten to one I bet is driving by. She needs to go in and shed ALL that unwanted weight. She’s got a double chin and soon will look like a pelican.

  • forgetyoutooo

How dare this horrible woman try to politicize the evil these girls are going through with the BS “war on women” Dem talking point lie is beyond disgraceful. Even for the political animal that is Hillary Clinton.

  • meandme

I am Nigerian! The girls were abducted because they were in school. The terror attack is directed at western education. The name of the terrorist group is Boko Haram which means Western Education is sacrilage. Mrs Clinton got her facts right!
