America, hells yes.

As Twitchy reported, citizens attending the Million Vets March in Washington, D.C., Sunday tore down Barrycades at several memorials. The crowd then picked up the Barrycades and began transporting them to the White House.

Now, the protest continues outside of the Spite House.

#Shutdown of the Spite House achieved! Take these Barrycades, Obama administration.

Can you hear us now? Of course, it is hard to hear over your own stomping feet, isn’t it Mr. President?

        • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Not so much a question of prosecution in the immediate instance, as persecution later on (through all sorts of, e.g., Lois Lerner-type red tape, “accidental” revelations about possible previous arrests on minor “spitting on the sidewalk” type charges, and the like). Once they have you down as a troublemaker, even if they cannot arrest you for anything you are doing, they can make life difficult down the road.

          • gjake1951

If we are too afraid of what will happen later on then we might just as well give up all of our freedoms right now and be done with it.

          • momcat617

      • TomJB

I’m a vet too so does that make my words below somehow sacrosanct? You might want to relook at those so-called civics books that taught you what you think you know but “Congress” does not fund or defund the government. All spending bills originate in the House of Representatives. That is only half of Congress and the chamber that is most accountable to the people as it can be turned over 100% every other year. The House has passed numerous bills to fund the basic operations of the federal government and they are being stopped not by the Senate, but by one single member of the Senate: Harry Reid. Until he brings these bills to the Senate floor, the responsibility for the shutdown rests with him and him alone.

        • pam howell

No, you are absolutely correct. Harry Reid is the one holding this country hostage with the blessings of the president. And when you really look at and listen to him…he is on the biggest power trip I’ve ever seen in my lifetime.

          • Judi Mores

@TomJB:disqus . You are correct in your comment that Harry Reid is the stalement; HOWEVER, it has been said BY Obama that even if the Senate DOES PASS any bill that limits his credit ceiling or interfers with Obamacare, he will VETO it!! That really doesn’t leave any room for negotiation or compromise. I am NOT a Harry Reid fan, but I think the blame falls not only on his shoulders, but on the O’Mighty One; the King of Clowns.

          • TomJB

Judi, absolutely! I didn’t mean to say Obama wasn’t to blame for the general attitude of the Democrat party. He has the buck squarely on his desk there. But the current blockade as far as legislative order goes is named Reid. Were he to allow these votes to the floor and they fail, we would have a by-name list; if they pass, and the President vetos, then he would be the official block.

          • Judi Mores

You are absolutely right, Tom! I am soooo frustrated and angry at what these clowns are doing to our country. I do wish we’d pass a new law that they get limited “terms” and not for infinity and beyond in the Senate. Too much ol’ boy crap going on.

    • CMGill

Gallup has him at 44%, Rasmussen at 50%.

      • ObamaFail

Seriously? How can anyone with a brain approve of what this guy is doing? The 37% approval came from an AP poll that they had the sad (for them anyway) duty of reporting.

        • alanstorm

“How can anyone with a brain approve of what this guy is doing?”

Some questions just answer themselves, don’t they?

After all, the last two presidential elections demonstrated that just over half the country was critically stupid. Even 50% means that some are waking up. Slowly.

        • Jeffrey Lamela

He will always have most of the blacks and the “free stuff” people.

        • Mary Lyons

The 37% are the low information, free loaders who do not have enough sense to think for themselves. These are the people that were targeted during the election last year to get the baffoon re-elected. It is a strategy out of the Rules for Radicals book by Saul Alinsky. They bombard the low information, poverty stricken, that believe everything they hear on TV and the one’s that are always looking for a handout and appealed to that with dangling freebies in front of them that got him back in office.

      • Colin the Patriot

Wrong, Gallup has him at 41%. Rasmussen isn’t a reliable pollster.

        • ObamaFail

But then he went on to say his still supported THE MAN and his policies, and it’s all the Repubs fault they haven’t worked. I am a veteran. and I have been paying very close attention to what has been going on since day 1. I have been listening to all the speeches and watching all the debates and watching every news channel. The Teaparty clearly and without guilt or shame defunded the government. If any of you ever took civics101, you would know that. Only Congress can defund the government, and the majority of congress is republican who are being lead around by the nose by the tea party. They decided on orchestrating this shutdown for ONE REASON ONLY…… To force and bully Obama into pulling a law, that was passed by the supreme court, that the MAJORITY of Americans are in support of. Whether you like it or not, that is the reality! Because so many of us vets and government workers and everyone in between are angry and this shutdown in hurting us, badly, the Teaparty decided to fund certain people. That is what PIECEMEAL is….it is literally the republican party cherry picking who gets screwed over and who doesn’t. Obama said NO! ALL OR NOTHING! No one people are more deserving of benefits and jobs than any other. Now it seems that a huge game of chicken is happening in Washington, Obama is really stuck between a rock and a hard place. What would you do? Allow the tea party use americans as bargaining chips? If Obama allows piecemeal, if he pulls or changes the AHA, then yes, the american people will be happy just to get things back to normal because they are just sick and tired of this crap. HOWEVER if he does it, the minority of extremists have just been successful in hijacking americans jobs and holding americans for ransom. It cannot be allowed! It is terrorism no matter how you slice it.

    • Fred

and obozo unilaterally granting exemptions in obozocare isn’t?

    • HeavyMetalPolkaMonkey

Since the sequester wasn’t the end of the world, President Corky directs the park service to fence in an open air memorial, and you blame the Tea Party? WWII vets get busted for showing up but illegals are allowed to protest for amnesty (and Pelosi thanks Corky for the privilege) and you blame the Tea Party? The GOP even offers an agreement that funds the train-wreck that is Corkycare and you blame the Tea Party? The list goes on and on. Listen Jay, I know that being the regime’s mouthpiece is a difficult job, but stop trying the Obi-Wan mind thing. It’s not your long suit.

    • Republicanvet

Being a veteran, you must never have gone to the VA, because 4Oh4Care will be much worse.
As for Civics101, you should go back and study up a little. I believe you missed some important sections such as spending bills originating in the House. 4Oh4Care originated in the Senate, and was ruled a tax by SCOTUS, yet Preezy Fissbump has been granting waivers to that tax to select cronies for political purposes.

    • wwbdinct

FYI – the majority of Congress is not Republican. The majority of the HOUSE is. Civics101……

    • richard mcenroe

Veteran? Which army? This law was passed with parliamentary tricks in the dead of night, without one vote from the opposing party, it penalizes people who don’t need its services, raises costs and cuts eligibility for the ones who do, and NO ONE, including you, genius, even knows everything that’s in it yet!

    • socalcon

eljeran, thanks for your service. If I may correct a few of the errors you posted.
      1. Obamacare, as implemented is not the same as the legislation (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act). Obama and Sebelius have waived and modified the legislation to get to their own ends. Waivers and Mandate delays passed since 2010, substantially change the legislation. You can deny that, but you’d be wrong.
      2. The Supreme Court did not ‘pass’ the law, Judge Roberts effectively re-wrote a portion of it so that the point of law up for consideration was mute- Roberts ruled it was a ‘Tax” and therefore ruled against the petitioners.
Nice try though, but living in a fantasy world is no way to go through life.

      • yooperpatriot

Also, since Roberts ruled it was a tax, it is unconstitutional, as all taxes must originate in the House. This Act originated in the Senate!

    • SonsOfMontesQ

thank you for your service, if you truly are a vet. that being said, you have not watched and read ALL the news as you’ve stated (which is impossible). if so, you would know that funding the gov’t “piecemeal” is the way the framers intended it to be, and the way it’s been done by congress until recent history. what is new here is the fact that our current president is the first to refuse to negotiate with congress like all presidents before him have in past shutdowns. plus, no parks have ever been closed in past shutdowns. the presidents administration has chosen to close them in an attempt to inflict “pain” on the people and have the liberal mainstream media (the same media you seem to be getting ALL the news from) blame it on the tea party/republican shutdown, which it isn’t. it is Obama’s refusal to negotiate, and Harry Ried’s refusal to allow votes on 8 separate spending bills passed by the house that has the gov’t partially (only 17% actually not funded) “shutdown”. the big 3 networks are no longer the only source of info in this country, and neither is print media. the internet has allowed the people access to the truth which never really was given by those networks and print media. we now know what they’re up to, what they’ve always been up to, and no longer listen to them. they’ve thrown in their collective hat with the leftist propaganda machine, and do nothing but run cover for liberal politicians and attack conservatives any way they can, no matter how much spin, no matter how many lies. always question the source of your information. there is no such thing as objective reporting, and there never really was.

    • SawLogBackBone

I’m not going to write a lengthy reply, although yours was quite humorous. Thanks for your service. Now, pull your head out of your butt and get back in class. • James Perley

eljeran, I am a veteran too, and I also know more about this than you do., John Murtha, another veteran, described the “Slow Bleed” during debate over the Iraqi Surge. He argued that Democrats could defund the war as they did at the end of Vietnam, but it would make bad press for them. Better than defunding was to maintain the status quo and fight the surge. Enhanced death numbers of allied soldiers and Iraqi people provided an important issue for the next election. Democrats could argue that Bush’s policies were killing our soldiers, when in reality, Democrats wanted the casualty rates to remain high by defeating the Surge.

An election was more important to them than our soldiers’ lives. During the Sequester, e mails advised department heads to make it as hard on Americans as possible. The government’s closing national parks and monuments reflects the same attitude.

The principal media is working for the Democrats to color opinion against the Republicans. We are dealing with would be tyrants.

      • PFPorlock

Brings up a point: shouldn’t some Republican congresscritter be introducing a ‘Sense of the House’ resolution’ saying:

“Given what we are now told about the impropriety of the House refusing to fund an ongoing program, the Sense of the House is that the 93rd Congress’s 1974 refusal to fully fund supplies for the South Vietnamese military exceeded its constitutional authority.”

I figure this will result in the Republicans having fun and the Democrats having cows.

    • Nightvalzin

“To force and bully Obama into pulling a law,”

It’s always interesting when people feel that people they disagree with are being “bullies”.So basically Democrats are such weaklings that any real pushback from Republicans they consider “bullying”.Also, that wasn’t the only bill that was put forth. If you’ve been watching every news channel as you say you’d know that. The other ones were to change the bill or get delay the individual mandate, something Obama clearly would be for if Democrats brought it forth since he bypassed Congress to change Obamacare and delay the employer mandate.

“that the MAJORITY of Americans are in support of.”

Okay, now put down the drugs or go back to math class because that is just baloney.Polls show it is at best 38%,not exactly a majority. But then again just like with background checks you just tout that word to try and strengthen your failing arguments.

“HOWEVER if he does it, the minority of extremists have just been successful in hijacking americans jobs and holding americans for ransom. It cannot be allowed! It is terrorism no matter how you slice it.”

As usual, another aspect of the failing argument is to use hyperbolic vitriol against those you disagree with.Funny how Democrats always have no arguments other than name-calling.

Oh I so wish I could have been there. Thank you brothers and sisters in arms. There are some people in this country who take their oath seriously and it is not the lad in the White House.

  • Ṩụẹ

It’s weird that they haven’t sent out a team from Homeland Security. Remember, they came out for the IRS protests, and didn’t they classify all these vets as dangerous extremists in their documents?

  • bookish1

    Lookin’ good, vets!
    Thank you all!
Barack is probably wondering why they didn’t put the barricades in front of Boehner’s office.

  • wakeupamerica333

Now those are Americans speaking their minds! Media has managed to paint the picture that everyone is in agreement with Obama’s overplayed hand. However he didn’t expect that the true Americans, our vets would speak up. Here comes the swell!

CNN dismissing today as a “tea party-like rally,” leads with outrage that the crowd is calling Obama a Muslim.

    • MNWoman

I do not watch CNN, but is there any show similar to the CBS, ABC, NBC morning talk shows where people can stand outside with signs? If so someone should make a huge sign and stand out in the crowd telling everyone CNN lies.

    • grumpyank

Well, other than his father being a Muslim, his step-father being a Muslim, and Obama having been a Muslim and professing sympathy for Muslims, I don’t know those people could have called Obama a Muslim. His CIA Director professes to be a Muslim, by the way.

Doesn’t look like they got more than two dozen people.

    • Vitiosum

I know I shouldn’t feed you trolls. However, Look again, Joe. I believe your numbers are a little off. Common Core Math, Joe? Your observation is a fail. Sorry. Take your shovel and pail and play in the liberal litterbox and clean it out.

      • Joe

I stand corrected. They got about 200 people, reports say. More than two dozen but hardly impressive.

        • Peter Hinow

dontcha know? 200 is the new million!

  • dawn

God bless and protect them all. America is united like never before…all races, all religions (keeping in mind islam is NOT a religion, but is a political front for murder), and all ages stand united against tyranny and elitism. No one man, no handful of men, shall control this nation or We The People. Where there is a spark, there is a flame to come.

  • kleduz

Why is this NOT on the news??

    • dawn

We all know why…the media is still owned by the liberal left, and they do not want the uniformed to be aware of what we are fighting for, or that anyone is even fighting.

    • grumpyank

Because people who opposed the Democratic agenda are not supposed to exist in this country. Because the overwhelming majority of people working in the media are Democrats. Would you go to an editor you knew was an Obama supporter and talk up a story about people protesting Obama?

      • kleduz

It goes a lot deeper than being a Dem/Rep thing. Socialism is here.
        Wake UP America!

  • disqus_glB3YKQ95H

Really disgusting that the brave American men and women who have defended all of us and everything we have now have a reason to protest the behavior of the government that has disrespected them so badly. It really is the result of having such a “chickensh*t” in the WhiteHouse, surrrounded by advisors and others who have no respect for the things that are important to Americans.

    • celestiallady

      Shame on you

    • grumpyank

I didn’t see a bunch of people holding Confederate flags. I saw one guy. Maybe he should be asked who he represents. Or is that too complicated. Easier just to smear everybody there.

    • floridavet

Thank you for your sterling observations. Maybe now you could get back to that spelling and grammar class that you flunked.

  • Terry

I wonder if Obama and the Democrats will be on news tomorrow and telling their base that these vets were domestic terrorists and that they attacked the White House? Just wondering.

    • grumpyank

The only thing that will be mentioned is the guy with the Confederate flag. Bet on it. Nothing that these veterans have ever done will be mentioned. Our left/liberal friends have their demons and enemies, and that’s all they want the public to know about.

  • DCPatriot35

    Really Tea Party?

How exactly is waving a confederate flag outside the home of our nation’s first African American president helpful to your cause? Shameful.

I am surprised Tea Party has a 21% approval rating. Should be much much lower.

    • celestiallady

Just goes to show you know nothing about today. Try learning and you might be surprised or ask a vet – this is not about the Tea Party.

      • DCPatriot35

This has all been about the Tea Party. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous

        • grumpyank

And you know that how? You don’t know, you just want to smear the Tea Party, like you crap liberals always do.

          • DCPatriot35

The Tea Party does a pretty good job at doing that all by themselves. No help needed from media.

    • grumpyank

You’re going to blame the entire Tea Party because some guy brought a confederate flag. That’s typical of you crap liberals, because you’ve been slandering the Tea Party ever since it started. You and your liberal buddies in the news media can eff off.

These images can’t be right _ I just watched a channel 9 news reporting out of DC – stating that the barricades are back at the memorials and the crowds went home around 1:00 pm sunday – now my math is not that good but in Colorado it is 5:45 pm to my calculation that makes it 7:45 or 8:45 pm in DC these pictures claim to be taken 30 minutes ago – Please tell me once again How THE News media is not lying

Gun Ban Results In Dozens of Tragic Deaths

    BOSTON —
National guard units seeking to confiscate

a cache of recently banned assault rifles were ambushed on

April 19th by elements of a paramilitary
    extremist faction.

Military and law enforcement officials estimate that 72

were killed and more than 200 injured before government

    forces were compelled to withdraw.

Speaking after the clash, Massachusetts Governor

Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was

made up of local citizens, has links to the radical

    right-wing tax protest movement.

Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of

vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The

governor, who described the group’s organizers as

“criminals,” issued an executive order authorizing the

summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with

the government’s efforts to secure law and order.

The military raid on the extremist arsenal followed

widespread refusal by the local citizenry to turn over

recently outlawed assault weapons. Gage issued a ban on

military-style assault weapons and ammunition earlier in

the week. This decision followed a meeting earlier this

month between government and military leaders at which

the governor authorized the forcible confiscation of

    illegal arms.

One government official, speaking on condition of

anonymity, pointed out that “none of these people would

have been killed had the extremists obeyed the law and

    turned over their weapons voluntarily.”

Government troops initially succeeded in confiscating

a large supply of outlawed weapons and ammunition. However,

troops attempting to seize arms and ammunition in Lexington

met with resistance from heavily-armed extremists who had

been tipped-off regarding the government’s plan.

During a tense standoff in Lexington’s
    town park,

National Guard Colonel Francis Smith, commander of the

government operation, ordered the armed group to surrender

and return to their homes. The impasse was broken by a

single shot, which was reportedly fired by one of the

Eight civilians were killed in the ensuing exchange.

Ironically, the local citizenry blamed government forces

rather than the extremists for the civilian deaths. Before

order could be restored, armed citizens from surrounding

areas had descended upon the guard units. Colonel Smith,

finding his forces overmatched by the armed mob, ordered

    a retreat.

Governor Gage has called upon citizens to support

the state/national joint task force in its effort to restore

law and order. The governor has also demanded the surrender

of those responsible for planning and leading the attack

against the government forces. Samuel Adams, Paul Revere,

and John Hancock, who have been identified as “ringleaders”

of the extremist faction, remain at large.

    * * *

Oh, I forgot to give the date including the year (but you

already know, don’t you?). It was April 20, 1775.

  • Dennis the Dreamer

Obama will call the vets ‘anarchist” or “terrorist”.

  • Ryan Johnson

I LOVE to see the people fight back! That’s what I’m talking about!

  • Elaine Sawyer

  • Lindatuc1

God bless America and God bless our Vets! Thank you!

  • Joe

Reports now estimate the crowd to be about 200 people, say. Again, not impressive at all.

    • Oinia

Dictator obama commandeering veterans’ memorials and national parks for politics is not simply “unimpressive,” you brainwashed germ.

      It’s repulsive tyranny.

  • bettenoir

You people are insane. Organizers of the March wrote a long apology on their website and Facebook page that their event was hijacked by TEA Party loonytunes.

  • Oinia

MANY countries democratically elect their dictators. America is no exception.

  • Advocatus Diaboli

Wow, a million isn’t what it used to be. Looked like about 300 people there, maybe. What an embarrassment. Even worse than the failed trucker rally last week.

Perhaps the GOP should just face it, Obamacare isn’t going anywhere.

  • rlpincus

Looks like the “Million Vets Avoided The March” March. The vast majority knew this would be a Tea Party nightmare, Confederate flags and all.

  • ComradeAnon

Oops. Looks like a bunch of confederate sign holders got confused and joined the several dozen veterans. And wasn’t it a miracle that Sister Sarah just happened to be in D.C. then?

  • Ignatz

Wow. Look at that crowd of a MILLION PEOPLE!

If you divide by about 5000.

  • Ignatz

A message from the organizers of the event! From the “Million Vet March” homepage!

“We feel disheartened that some would seek to hijack the narrative for political gain. The core principle is about all Americans honoring Veterans in a peaceful and apolitical manner. ”

The organizers say they are simply calling for war memorials to stay open at all times and disowned the “disheartening acts of a few powerful Washington elite and political extremists jumping on the opportunity to make money.” On their Facebook page, they blamed “certain groups that have piggy-backed off our grassroots efforts” for obscuring their message. “We made the mistake of trying to partner with some Washington insiders that thwarted many of our genuine concerns for keeping this apolitical and grassroots. While we support many of those groups common causes for Veterans, we do not support the manner in which they go about it. We chose instead to not incite or create panic.”

  • WhamBamThankYouObama!

I took off my shoes to help me count, but I am still not coming up with one million. Maybe the guy carrying the Confederate flag is hiding 900,000-or-so people.

  • WhamBamThankYouObama!

The Confederate flag is somewhat less than helpful.

  • Mr Mike

From the pictures, I would say a better name for this protest would be the “Hundred Vets March, with assorted rednecks and conservative crazies”.

  • Jeffery Campbell

Nice confederate flag, you got there

  • bikesy

The flag should never have placed on it, or attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind.

    Great job patriots.

  • Tom Moore

Why is this not on the news. Is there any more doubt about who our news serve. I’ll give you a hint, not the people.

  • $49181585

It seems they were a few shy of a million.

  • crewoldt

A half dozen or so traitors. The millions voted for the Commander-in Chief. Real veterans fight for America, not against it. You look silly.
