Bam.

On Sunday, Fox News’ Harris Faulkner retweeted an intriguing question: “Where is your senator” as the shutdown looms?

Enter #BlameHarryReid. Legal Insurrection put the blame where it should be: At the feet of Sen. Harry Reid. “Hostage-holders“? Look in the mirror, Harry:

More from Legal Insurrection:

Harry Reid almost never allows up or down votes on Republican agenda legislation coming out of the House. He has taken the Senate hostage.

A good example is the House Continuing Resolution which Reid would not allow to come up for a vote until Obamacare defunding was stripped out. He could have allowed a vote on the entire bill — which Ted Cruz said would have satisfied him — but Reid held the nation hostage.

Nailed. It.

NRO’s Charles C.W. Cooke agrees.

And citizens on Twitter are also putting the blame where it belongs. Own it, Sen. Reid.

An early win?

Keep it coming, Twitter.

Update:

More please.

Harry Reid is the personification of all that is wrong in America today.

    • lesterwink23

Couldn’t agree more. His arrogance is surpassed only by his disdain of any opposition

    • Todd Hill

His Mormon brethren must be SO proud of him…

      • drw

Sorry guy but, I have to call you out on this one. There is NO one in this country that has more contempt for this low-life bag of rat puss than I do but, his religion, professed or otherwise, is off-limits as a means of ridicule. This country was founded in part that this not be a factor in judgment of others and is one of the most important liberties we enjoy. I’m not a Mormon but, the few that I know are decent, hard-working, and intelligent and their personal beliefs are very important to them.

        • Todd Hill

My reason for calling it out is that all Democrats had made it a primary point that you couldn’t trust a Mormon when Romney was running for President. From what I saw in the press, the response to this from the Mormon community was rather muted.
Yet, during his whole reign as dictator of the Senate, Harry Reid has been embraced by the Democrats as one of the best politicians in Washington. If Democrats can’t trust a Mormon, why trust Harry?

And the last, and most interesting point, is the tepid response from Mormons regarding Reid’s behavior as a legislator. Like you, I’ve known several Mormons who take their faith and their dedication to hard work seriously and they deserve to reap the rewards of such honest effort. I believe it when people say that the majority of them are conservative/Republican.

So why do they keep their heads ducked and their mouths shut when one of their faith acts as badly as Harry Reid has?

          • drw

Thanks for the clarification. In response I would say that first, democrat talking points are usually intended to confuse and deflect from the real issue and are therefore only effective on those who are less informed. Second, I would guess the Mormon communities failure to publicly embrace Mr. Romney could stem from the persecution they’ve endured over the years and their reluctance to have this become an issue that may further inhibit his chances. And finally, Harry Reid’s faith, or lack thereof, is merely a convenience for him. Just as odrama was a faithful follower of rev Wright until he was shown as the asshat he is.
I’m a bit off the beaten path but, I can’t remember the last time a major religion proclaimed a candidate for national office to be among their membership or espoused his fitness for said office.

          • Cheryl Sheldon

As a Mormon and a Republican I am completely baffled by Harry Reid. His votes often contradict beliefs that we hold dear. We don’t deny anyone their freedom to choose how or for whom they vote. With that said, I am sure many of us have scratched our heads and cringed at the choices he makes.

      • Gary Warren

Actually, I am willing to bet that if the tax returns of Mormons were compared to the average taxpayers, the Mormons would vastly exceed most any other segment of the population in the country in their charitable giving. Besides, it’s Utah that has the Mormons. Reid is elected by Nevada. Nevada has three times as many Catholics as Mormons just for starters. So, Todd, you have the wrong state if you wish to insult Mormons, many of which are conservative.

        • Swibbie

Not sure why you are so defensive. Todd in no way attacked the Mormons.

        • Spinmamma

Gary, I think he was saying that Mormons are probably ashamed to say this jerk is a member of the same church, not that he is a representative of the character of Mormons.

Harry Greed is a poster child for term limits, this fossil POS needs to go TODAY !!!!! What is this [email protected] too that when the House Republicans send a bill over to the Senate, Harry Greed doesn’t even let it get an up or down vote & he just shelves it, WTF HARRY !!!! It sounds like Harry is a Dictator in the Senate, that won’t fly here in America !!!! If government does shut down, it will be all Harry Greed’s fault because he supports the RAClST BOBOcare law, tough sht Harry !!!!!

The Republicans aren’t to blame for doing their job you know Harry, WE THE PEOPLE told these Congress members in the House to defund this RAClST law before it gets its hooks in this already dismal economy of BOBO’s !!! You all realize we gave BOBO a 900 BILLION dollar stimulus package & he even fcks that up, this RAClST MUSLlM FLEEBAGGERS is the worst president since Carter !! I keep waiting for this dinosaur to suddenly keel over on the Senate floor.

If that proves to be true, I fully expect Harry to rival Methuselah in age.

  • conservativechick

He’s lying anyway. Over 30 Democrats voted with Republicans last March that medical device tax was really bad and should go. Now they are using their fake support of the tax against Republicans to shut down government?

Harry Reid: “The opposition party are anarchists for acting like the party in opposition.”

    • Clete Torres ✓ᵈⁱˢᵍʳᵒⁿⁱᶠⁱᵉᵈ

Yeah, but if it were his party that were the minority, he’d be anarchy organizer in chief.

  • Clete Torres ✓ᵈⁱˢᵍʳᵒⁿⁱᶠⁱᵉᵈ

Harry Reid: Public Enemy Number One.

He has done more to fracture the political process than anyone I can think of, going back for decades.

    • Spinmamma

He may have been doing it longer, but he can’t hold a candle to the Prez in the fracturing of the political process. Heck, the Prez dropped the political process and rules by edict whenever possible.

  • stuckinIL4now

People need to wake up and I don’t mean just the lowinfObamabotzombies. Harry Reidiculous tells the Dembecile senators how to vote and they bow to his decrees–I know my two useless Senators (1-Dembecile, 1-RINO) do, and then the rest of the spineless RINOs like McShame and Grahamcracker join them. Imagine if the 17th Amendment was repealed and US Senators had to vote the will of their state legislatures. Yeah, again, I know it wouldn’t affect my state’s votes but it would affect those of a lot of others and enough of them, too.

    • TJCrane_NCC1701

Funny thing, I was reading your comment and thought to myself that your 2 Senaturds sound just like mine. Then I saw your name at the top of your comment and yep, the same 2 jackwagons. Good description !

  • James Atkins

Shut it all down! I will be impacted personally, probably laid off, but whatever.

    • King Leer

Very little of much import will be shutdown.

    Senator Harry Reid ✔
    @SenatorReid
Senate will reject any attempt to force changes to the health care law through a government funding bill or the debt ceiling. #GOPshutdown

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that form of trickery how they got it passed in the first place??

    • CatHerder ✓fire! ✓fire!

      You’re not wrong.

  • DutyFirst

It goes without saying that Harry Reid is the greatest impediment to the orderly process of government etc but my questions are:
Where is Boehner? Why is he not leading the House? He needs to take a leaf out of Harry’s book only in a productive fashion. Work the House and House Republicans to death – 24/7 if need be.
Seems to me that as the holder of the purse dealing with a spendaholic he should be doling out the money in such a way as to restrict the spendaholic. The republicans should have ready-to-go clean funding bills on a department by department basis leaving till last those departments where money can be expended on the ACA. Dare the house democrats to vote down a clean funding bill for Defence, Homeland Security, Dept of Ag etc. Send them to the Senate followed up by a communications storm far and wide detailing when and bills were sent to the Senate and force Harry Reid to tell the American people why it they DOA or why he won’t bring the Senate back into session. It will not play well for him trying to claim they won’t deal with it because – ‘republicans terrorists’. Get rid of the confusion which they hide behind by having a complex CR which probably even they don’t understand.
Have the fight over funding Health and Human Services, Treasury a.k.a. IRS. How many of us would be upset if IRS is slowed down or stopped in what it is doing for a while.

  • izzyabby

When will you hardheads finally get it ??

Democrats are brilliant, loving, superior beings containing insight, wisdom and the gift of always being right about everything, all the time.

So, in a spirit of bipartisanship and fairness: sit down, shut up and do what you’re told.

    There, that’s better.

  • Marvin Nelson

WHY do all Senators allow Dingy Harry to speak for them and tell us how everyone is going to vote. Is he omniscient? The 50% of people in this country who actually work for a living are fed up with this tinpot dictator and his gang of hooligans. Reid OWNS this shutdown and we know it!

  • Crap Daddy

And just the other day, BO said he couldn’t remember a time when a party would stop everything if it didn’t get 100% it’s own way.
In as much emotion as he can muster about anything but golf, BO was very indignant about how disgraceful this kind of behavior was. As if to say only a spoiled child would do such a thing.
Maybe the next time the great one is taking time off from golf, cards and basketball, someone could mention this little tantrum Harry Reid is throwing and see if he has the same take on it.

  • Aitch748

Reid is apparently counting on the House Republicans folding eventually. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Reid and his water-carriers in the media tell the country that the GOP is keeping soldiers and sailors from being paid — all because Reid refuses to bend one millimeter on Obamacare.

  • Junie3

Zero Republicans voted for it then, why are they going to vote for it now? The country is on the side of Republicans. If it’s so good and affordable, why did Congress get an exemption and make us pay?
The longer these clowns are in office the more wicked they get.

    • ObamaFail

And people are seeing the “benefits” for themselves of Obamacare. Slashed hours, lay offs, seeing their premiums skyrocket, being dropped from their coverage. No amount of liberal BS is going to hide the truth when people can see it for themselves on their check stubs.

      • bicentennialguy

You may be somewhat right, but the LIV’s will continue to blame their employer or the Republicans. The Left and those who blindly support them truly are a mob.

  • Red Fred

Harry Reid is the epitome of weak politician with zero negotiating skill to better this nation.

  • thomaspriebe

I speak for Margaret Thatcher on Harry Reid: “The problem with Harry Reid is that you DON’T eventually run out of other peoples hating Obamacare.”

  • John Ansell

Bag Convention paging Reid….BAG convention paging Harry Reid, you’re wanted at the douche exhibit.

  • drw

What a sad little man. You can actually see the outline of his “STUPID” sign emblazoned across his forehead. His ability to retain the power he has for the length of time he has begs the question, HOW? What favors and/or promises does he bestow on his fellow dumbocraps that they haven’t made an attempt to oust him? Or, perhaps he is the perfect puppet and follows his unseen masters without question. In either event, I can’t imagine what could prompt any group with even the slightest hint of higher reasoning to point to this person and say “that’s our man”.

    • indiana_conservative

When it was just him in the senate and Pelosi in the house with Q
Obamation in the WH now there was a tag team from hell. Now they whine about a speed bump in the road and blame the republicans for throwing the emergency brake on this train wreck about to happen. Pathetic whiny a$$ babies.

Harry Reid, shutting down the government for a program he exempted himself from.

  • ELC

Love that picture of Dirty Harry pretending he isn’t pointing with his middle finger. Personally, I would love to tell him where he can stick that appendage…right where the sun don’t shine. Unfortunately, for dirty harry he would spend endless time trying to retrieve it and would still blame the Republicans for sticking it there.

  • pajamakat

    Dingy Harry. How fitting.

  • Justme

Republicans should send one bill at a time to be passed. Yea know, the military,
or social security etc. Some of the furloughed folks can get a taste of what happens to the rest of us in the dreaded private sector.

  • LegalizeShemp

But the Feds passed taxpayer funding for abortion coverage, nice job bungholes !
