As Twitchy reported, there is one thing you can “keep” with Obamacare: Cancellation notices. And Rep. Gardner (R-Colo.) is among those who have been receiving notices of cancellation.

Gardner took to Twitter and Facebook to report that he opted out of federal health care and subsequently learned his family’s insurance plan is being canceled.

He is reaching out via social media to hear from others who are facing the same fate.

More from his Facebook page:

My office is currently collecting stories of those who have been affected by President Obama’s healthcare law. Like many other Americans, my family was recently notified that our healthcare plan would be discontinued at the end of this year. If we wish to buy a comparable plan, it will cost over 100% more. Has your coverage been dropped? Have your rates gone up? Have your hours been cut back at work? I want to hear your story. Anything you submit to my website will remain confidential. Go here to share your story:

And share, they did.

Twitter users have been drastically affected as well.

“You can keep your plan” … just kidding, guys!

Hey, know what you get to ‘keep’ with Obamacare? Cancellation notices

    And it begins.
I really can’t wait to see what happens Oct 1

    • Billie Slash

I really can’t wait to see what happens in November 2014—many politicians will be unemployed because of this. I smell an ‘R’ Senate takeover.

      • colony14author

I agree. The Dems will lose big. The people who do not understand ObamaCare or who do not now care will suddenly be interested after their policies are canceled or their premiums skyrocket.

  • CatHerder

Thank you so very little, you monsters.

  • gman213

As much thought went into the consequences of ObamaCare as that of a baby that sh*ts it’s diaper,

    • Republicanvet

…or what a leftist would think about one about to be aborted.

  • Elaine

The worst part of the “exchanges”… the navigators! Thousands hired quickly, with NO background checks. They will have access to ALL our personal information, and I mean ALL. They are being hired by community organizing & immigrant rights groups. Why would anyone want to give these people that information?

    • Elaine
    • cajun_2

It seems all kinds of criminals have a lot more rights and protections than we do. They even get government jobs…IN CONGRESS!

      • trixiewoobeans

        And at the Navy Yard.

        • cajun_2

And some of the terrorists fighting at the 2 “malls” in Africa are from the US.. Wonder if Obama or the media are going to talk about where THEY got the guns…or even who THEY are….

    • brianjconway

They’ll be selling your info to Identity thieves for crack money.

    • QWYS (Hydralisk of the Swarm)

Oh, I don’t know …. The in home warrantless health home environment inspections scare me more than the navigators …

  • NeoKong

Why is this such a surprise….?

We were told this was going to happen four years ago.
Obamacare is designed to collapse the private insurance market and eventually lead to single payer.
How many D’s in leadership do we need to hear it from?

    • idalily

Yep. This was the goal all along.

  • stuckinIL4now

Hey Rep Gardner, have you told Obama and asked him directly–WHY?

    • ObamaFail

Obama’s answer was probably, “I’m exempt, so who cares?!”

      • Deborah Hallsted

I thought it would be, “what difference, at this point, does it make”?

    • nc

      Obama’s not answering the phone.

  • Wrightclick

Call your Republican Senators and tell them to get off their butts, stand up with Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and others to defund Obamacare. If they can’t repeal it (until after the next election) then they can at least kill it with 1,000 cuts.

“If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan.” — Barack Obama, August 11, 2009

Biggest lie EVER told by a president.
Bigger than “I’m not a crook.”
Bigger than “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”
He used the old bait & switch. He sold Obamacare like he was a huckster used-car salesman trying to unload a jalopy.
    Suck on your lemon, America.

    • trixiewoobeans

As it was CLEARLY a lie and complete misrepresentation, passed without even being read (tested), why do we have to accept it? He sold his product, the product is defective, unworkable and dangerous to life, limb and well-being! RETURN the product just like any other defective product! Isn’t that what the Courts are for?

      • TocksNedlog

Remember, they had to pass it so that we could find out what’s in it.

        We’re boned.

      • Thale Taxurfeet

If current trends in legislative/judicial actions are any indication, the Courts would find the U.S.taxpaying ACA’ed citizens have no standing.

Next stop the ballot box… Let’s hope the intensity of the shared pain finally gets the attention of the electorate.

  • sambar2

I’m sorry to be vulgar but, truth be told, Obama is an evil lying piece of sh*t.

  • OLLPOH ~ ?R U Marinated?

How many days until the election in 2014?
    Really looking forward to it.

  • canb0nly1

Obamacare is an economic and social engineering weapon designed to topple the United States. It is deliberate. These are not unintended consequences.

  • Suzyqpie

0bamaCare is capricious regulatory adventurism. It has business growth paralyzed. We can have 0bamaCare or a thriving economy. We can’t have both. Thus far 0bamaCare has done the most economic damage to the people it was ostensibly designed to “help.”

  • james blue

So he opted out of the federal employees healthcare plan (good for him) and was getting his insurance on the individual market?

If so then what the heck does Obamacare have to do with his insurance provider cancelling his policy? If he has a beef it’s with the private insurance company.

    • wineplz

ObamaCare is regulating the private market. It says that all private plans and employer-sponsored plans need to meet certain criteria, which means those that have plans that do not meet that criteria are forced to pay more for the bigger requirements, or get dropped completely and go to the Healthcare Exchanges (which probably cost the same or more).

      • james blue

The policy he had was cancelled. There is no word as to if it would have met the minimum standards. But it was an individual plan and like iphones those plans are discontinued for the “new model” all the time. That is the problem with the individual market,..very poor consumer power. The congressman could have gone to a different policy on the individual market, he is not obliged to use the exchanges, but instead he’s trying to latch this to Obamacare when the culprit is his insurance company.
I’m no fan of the ACA, I think it’s a big giveaway to the insurance industry, but I think this lawmaker is talking out of his backside on this one and people are lapping it up without thinking.

  • FlatFoot

Don’t bother going to Rep. Gardner’s ‘official’ web page and trying to tell him your Obamacare horror story unless you live in his precise district. He’s not allowed to exchange communications with anyone unless you’re one of his specific constituents. Unless you want to enter a false ZipCode+4… which is probably illegal and subject to potential prosecution.

    • Oldmonkey

All politicians set their websites up that way. Even for constituents, it is impossible to have dialogue on an issue when living in their district.

  • LegalizeShemp

I wish Demonrats would start reading these bills before ramming them through in the middle of the night with no floor debate whatsover.

    • MarcusFenix

Pelosi asks her 5 year old grandson about policy matters for an opinion…I’m not sure anything that requires reading past Dr. Seuss is going to be on the menu.

  • tops116

When Democrats in government said “You can keep your plan,” they were just talking to other Democrats in government.

  • LegalizeShemp

Look at the bright side, when government gets involved, everything becomes “fair” and we get “equality”. That means if you currently have a good plan with good care, you’ll now get a mediocre or poor plan with poor care, and people who currently have no plan or a poor plan will get the same mediocre plan. I love government and it’s Marxist policies, it’s so fair and equitable.

  • IceColdTroll

  • Magnifico

The world said you could keep your healthcare plan…..The WORLD, you fools!!

  • colony14author

Note to Democrats: crap flows downhill, but the stench rises.

  • AZWarrior

Wait, it gets much worse …

  • OLLPOH ~ OurLifeLiberty

You will have to get Harry Reid fired, Congressman. And h311 will freeze over before that happens.

  • sludog

This Trainwreck is going to do exactly what Obama wants, destroy the living standard of the middle class. The Jackass Party owns it!!
