  • ObamaFail

There is one definite cure for Obamacare.

    • NotaLemming

All new laws should apply to congress and the president one full year before they are applied to the general public.

      • JeffWRidge

That’s a good thought, but I’d be happy if all laws that applied to the rest of us would also apply to Congress and the President. Congress exempting themselves and the Executive from the laws they pass is part of the reason we’re in the mess we’re in.

        • YERMOM182

I think you mean part of the treason…

      • Bryn Watkins

I would also support a size limit for all laws (say 100 pages) and automatic expiration (between 10-20 years would be good). That way, a law only stays on the books if congress re-authorizes it, and laws have to be limited, so there wouldn’t be huge laws with all kinds of nonsense stuffed into them.

    • RblDiver

Hey now, I’m unfortunate enough to be on one of your Phase 2 states, have pity on those of us who aren’t total morons 😛

      • Texan357

        It wouldn’t get to Phase 2. :)

      • ObamaFail

Texan is right, it totally would never reach phase 2, because the Dems would be rushing to repeal it.

        • RblDiver

I dunno, I think there are plenty willing to throw themselves under the bus for Teh Wun and would do anything to protect something with his name.

    • JeffWRidge

I would add that Phase 1 should be immediate.

    • MyrmidoNOT

      You forgot to add:

Phase 2 “only to be” implemented,
      AFTER Phase 1 shows a profit…
      (…this “saves” having-to-write Phase 2.) 😉

    • Rob

You can’t use the government to punish differing political ideals!

      Oh…. wait…..

  • Republicanvet

I wonder if SCOTUS Roberts is having second thoughts now that Preezy Fissbump is unilaterally deciding who has to follow this law and who gets a pass.

    • World B. Free

I don’t think Roberts cares one way or the other.

      • MissDiane47

Agreed! Roberts sold out. I still think he either deliberately did it on his own, or someone threatened him into changing his position.

  • TocksNedlog

Let’s see: The federal government simply pours money into a program that nobody uses?

Yep. They can handle doing that.

  • nc

Once the government subsidies for health care begin, it’s game over. The rest of the system could be in a wiggling heap on the floor, it won’t matter. Once you give, you can never take away.

It must be stopped before it begins!!!!!!!!

  • OpenTheDoor

If liberal ideas are so good, why do they need to be made laws?

    • alanstorm

Some questions just answer themselves, don’t they?

Socialism – ideas so good, they have to be imposed by force!

    • Texan357

Ah, the trillion-dollar question rears its ugly head. :)

      • Dana Van Roekel

If only it was ONLY a trillion-dollar question

  • crosspatch

The other way they can get rid of it is simply start calling it “Democratcare” rather than Obamacare.

    • Suzyqpie

      I like it..will do..DemocratCare

  • michael s

    Once again
There will be no defunding, this is just another excercise in frivolity.

    • ObamaFail

You blindly support OBama now, but YOU will be subject to all of the fines, penalties, and skyrocketing premiums as the rest of us buddy.

      • in_awe

Nah, he is in the 47%. He made his comment via his 2nd Obamaphone. And he is demanding an upgrade to a newer model.

        • michael s

the WINNING 47% . Remember that.

          • in_awe

I guess this American has a different definition of winning that doesn’t include 90%+ of all new jobs in 2013 being part-time, higher healthcare premiums and costs to accompany a multi-trillion dollar monstrosity, exemptions for favored supporters of this administration or the political elite in Washington, doctors retiring or quitting left and right AND an estimated 25-30MM STILL UNINSURED after implementation of the Unaffordable Care Act.

    • CatHerder

Yeah, and abortion reform will never pass in Texas.

      Oh wait…

  • Marcy Cook

  • ee1774

De-funding it would be a good idea….if we had GOP leaders with some steel in their spines.
We need leaders who’d be willing to go 24/7 as to why this is a bad law, and explaining (24/7) that WE wouldn’t be the ones responsible for shutting things down.

  • ObamaFail

The Dems in Congress need to just fess up that they hate Obamacare too.

    • Suzyqpie

It could say “I want a subsidy.”

  • Danny Wheeler

    Good one, Iowahawk! Well played!

  • mikulin

The Affordable Healthcare Act has written in it hundreds of times after describing would it will do the phrase “or whatever the secretary decides”. With these words, she can (and by extension her boss the president) change, amend, waive, expand or do anything they want with this law.

    • Suzyqpie

“The Sect shall…”. do one thing or another appears 1005 times in 0bamaCareRobertsTax giving new meaning to governance by bureaucrats.

  • Hired Mind

    Can’t we do both?

  • right_on

I would just settle for a law that imposes a penalty for anyone who tries to circumvent the law with waivers. If it’s the office of the President, his non-critical travel budget, and entertainment expenses is automatically suspended indefinitely. If it’s a member of congress, their office budget is reduced by 50% or more.

There HAS to be a lot of creative ways to neuter this monstrosity. Unfortunately, the moral courage to do so is direly lacking with the majority of politicians.

  • el_polacko

david “iowahawk” burge is a national treasure.

  • Scott

“That’s the most outstanding answer I have ever heard. You must have a God Damn IQ of 160!!”

  • Booker

Why didn’t I think of that? No law is permanent!

  • nochickenlady

I would prefer is this congress continued to do nothing. Everytime they do something, they make things worse. Let’s just lay them all off for the rest of the year.

    • WisconsinPatriot

Yeah…you don’t know how hard this is for me. I just don’t have any work for you next week,or the week after that…….or the…..Go ahead and file for UC, I will give you a call when things pick up :)

  • Exodus2011

yup IowaHawk! … but since it will be hard to get the Phoney to issue waivers to EVERY American, let’s follow the #CruzMissile’s lead:

If the HOR passes Rep. Graves CR legislation (funding all Govt EXCEPT Obamacare), putting it on the Phoney’s desk Sep 29th, then WE The People WIN

if the Phoney doesn’t sign it ~> WE WIN

    Obamacare does not get funded.

If the Phoney does sign it ~> WE WIN

    Obamacare does not get funded.

Therefore, on the August Recess Townhall Battlefield, WE The People fight like HE!! in huge numbers, putting unrelenting pressure on the HOR, GOP members especially. (Hit them with NOAmnesty at the same time)

Boehner and the RINOs then have a choice:

Put that Rep Graves CR on the Phoney’s desk and DON’T BLINK

DEFY the Conservative Electorate, thereby instigating the Restoration of the Conservative GOP Platform EARLIER and more effectively than otherwise would be achieved, through an internal 2014 Coup.

Choose you this day whom you will follow Conservatives … as for me and my house, we will

Waivers won’t stop the taxes. ‘Tis funny, though.

  • Zathras11 @B5

Solved except for the fact that it will still be FUNDED (meaning people will sit around doing nothing and get paid for it)! Nice try though.
