Oh, sweetie. Bless your cussing heart! A.J. Clemente made his debut as an anchor on an NBC local affiliate yesterday.

You guys are looking at the new weekend Anchor/weekday Reporter of channel 5 in Bismarck, ND. I made it. And so happy! thank you everyone.

Could not have gone worse is an understatement, as Deadspin reported.

Worst debut ever? Or best debut ever? To the video tape!

Twitter users are gasping for breath.

Mr. Clemente took to Twitter and explained that he did not really say the “gay” part.

Some Twitter users are offering support and protesting his subsequent suspension (on day one) with the hashtag #KeepAJ.

Heh. So, there’s that? Will he appear on Letterman? Stay tuned!

Welp, easy come, easy go. Clemente tweeted out to his followers that he’s officially been given the boot:

Yeah, better luck next time.

Same thing happened to Captain Kangaroo on his first day.

Well….I suppose it’s no worse than saying it on the packed stadium PA system before a nationally televised Major League Baseball Game….looking at you, “Big Papi”……

Beside the cursing, he is just awful. Did you hear his intro?”Thanks Van, I’m very excited, I graduated from WVU, and I’m used to, umm, you know, from, umm from being from the east coast.” WTF?

    • Jimni27

I think they were both a little stunned. She was fumbling her words too afterward.

That’s because he was melting inside after realizing what he had done…

  • Dandee

What difference does it make. Heck, we allow terrorists here as citizens and we are led to believe gay marriage is normal. And then there’s Benghazi and no one wants to find out why Hillary and Obama are not held accountable. This country has gone so far downhill, I don’t recognize it. The more we accept, the less we care.

    Yikes. O.O That was painful…..

  • dunst43

Let me be the first to pose the question….Are you sure that’s North Dakota? Just saying’.

  • ToyZebra

Always assume a gun is loaded. Always assume a mic is hot. Follow those two rules and life will be easier.

Does anyone else recall that there was a time when that sort of language was unacceptable for mixed company? I guess that sort of sexist stuff had to be eliminated :-( .
Maybe it was a regional thing? In the south it used to be that young men were taught not to use that sort of language in front of a lady. I remember when men apologized for using mild profanity in front of me. It never really bothered me though, but I thought it was so sweet for them to apologize anyway. Times change and I myself have unleashed strings of profanity that I did not even know that I knew :-O.

Hmmm, WVU grad? So he isn’t prime time material yet. At least he knows how to burn a couch. (Mountaineer fans will understand)

I wish some folks were as all over the MSM fawning of the Democratic Party as they are over this.

  • OKWishbone

If I knew I had to spend the next 30 minutes or an hour standing up and trying to make what happened in North Dakota during the day sound interesting I would probably say the same thing. The realization that this was the first newscast of what could be a long and never-ending descent into news-hell made him snap. Kind of a “pre”- traumatic-stress disorder.

    • Agent_Zeero

indeed. “You mean my first gig is reading news on the weekend in Bismark, ND??? fucking shit!!!”

  • Agent_Zeero

He said what we are all thinking when we tune in to the local news

    • lillymckim

      Right on!

  • neoface

Yes, he will be on Letterman! That’s just how stupid and low Letterman is. LOL!

  • http://twitter.com/stupid_republic Stupid Republic

I took one for the team here and looked through Meat Head’s Twitter feed. All the hallmarks of a budding professional:

    – “Music Touched My Vagina” in the background photo
    – Numerous references to keggers, pub crawls and other assorted frat boy activities
    – Idiotic sports-related slang, mostly about NY-area teams
    – References to laying out tanning
    – The Jim Carrey bowl cut from “Dumb and Dumber”

I hope all this serves him well in his next career in deep fat, quick order food service. However, I don’t think McDonald’s is going to be tolerant of F-bombs dropped at the service counter, either.

  • boxerdoglover

Maybe now he’ll clean up his potty mouth. I don’t care who you are, that’s never appropriate. Everyone has the ability to control what comes out of their mouth, most just choose not to.

  • CrashFroelich

Vietnamese and, um, Southern European types anchoring the news? Who would’ve expected such diversity in the Great White North?

    • DurkaDurka

Jesus, you’re stupid. Get out of the house.

      • CrashFroelich

Immune to irony, little one? Another victim of a public school education.

    He’s at NBC. Who cares.

That’s why I don’t swear…..at all. I can’t ‘slip’ if I’m not in the habit of swearing. And, in case you’re wondering, people certainly CAN tell when I’m angry!

  • Jim

I suddenly feel a lot better about some of the jobs I’ve failed at.

He should have said “NBC we don’t know f*cking sh*t” would’ve been okay then.

    KFYR. How ironic

  • Tom Anderson

I don’t see the big deal, its not like hes the Vice President dropping the f-bomb during a nationally televised and much hyped presser.
