Zing! It is being reported that Dave Henneberry, the man who discovered the surviving Boston bombing suspect in his boat, spotted the suspect because he was desperate for a smoke. He went outside to get his nicotine fix and that is when he noticed that something was amiss.

Twitter users are now pointing out that smoking saves lives!

Hardest hit? Nanny Bloomberg.

CBS’ Mark Knoller let loose with a Bloomberg zinger.

Ha! Others had similar thoughts.

Have smokers been vindicated?

No terrorist is safe in Marlboro Country.

hey and don’t forget not only did the guy save lives, he helped the children by smoking too! isn’t that what they say everytime they add yet more taxes to cigarettes?

  • Billie Slash

Thank goodness he didn’t walk a mile for that “Camel”.

  • tankdemon

Too bad this is only going to cement in Bloomie’s head that he was right all along that people need to leave their building and go outside to smoke.

  • socalcon

Already knew that…my uncle always said his going outside to smoke had saved his marriage and my aunt’s life.

  • Tim jones

That’s right. The whole city was “locked down” basically an illegal declaration of marshal law, hellicopters flying around, FBI in full force, DHS probably skulking around, searching peoples’ homes – also illegal, and with all that man power and machine power, it was a citizen who found the terrorist.

DHS = Trillions of $$ to fail
FBI = Trillions of $$ to fail

One guy having a smoke = $6 a pack, we have a winner

The mayor and all his men were calling it a night when 1 citizen noticed someone was jerking around with his boat..

They’re gonna keep showing the flir imagery from the chopper that doesn’t show a person in the boat.

In the next terrorist attack, just posse up the good-old-boys and you’ll probably find the guy in a couple hours.

But but but they looked cool!

  • VerminMcCann

Not so fast. Bloomberg will cite this in support of laws prohibiting smoking inside.

  • BAW

First I heard he had gone out for a smoke, then heard he went out for a breath of fresh air. So which is it? Did they change it to “fresh air” so people wouldn’t connect something good with smoking? Was he embarrassed for the nation to know he was a smoker? Would it diminish a positive story about him?

    • SlimWich

To a smoker, a cigarette is a breath of fresh air!

  • DanG

Ah, but some level of anti-smoking sentiment drove him outside in the first place. Forcing smokers outside saves lives. edit–No laws needed, the Mrs probably had something to do with that.

  • Jeff Myob

If the liberals had their way the smoker would be arrested and the terrorist would be let go.

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    Or, in the immortal words of Drew Carey, “SAFETY NAZIS, FUCK OFF!” XD Jawamax 8<{D}

  • trixiewoobeans

LOL! You can’t make this stuff up! I’m going to duck out and look for a terrorist right now!
