Devastating. That key question should put things in perspective for those in the media who are refusing to cover the trial of Kermit Gosnell and his house of horrors.

As Twitchy readers know, J.D. Mullane has been there diligently reporting every day. He has sat through the horrifying testimony, day after day.

And he has continued to call out other media outlets for ignoring the trial.

Perhaps other members of the media can’t handle the truth exposed by Mr. Mullane’s key question.

Indeed.

And great work, Mr. Mullane. Thank you for doing the job that others in the media won’t do.

Exactly! If it’s merely a “procedure for women’s reproductive health,” then why not a video showing all forms of abortion, including abortion at the point of delivery?

Most of the teenagers that I come across support “Women’s choice” just so they could justify their promiscuous lifestyles. (Assuming they’re able to during high school).

I understand your point, and it’s a good one, but wouldn’t it also run the risk of trivializing abortion, much like sex-ed has removed most stigma from becoming unwed teen mothers?

      • http://twitter.com/Mstecklow Gizmototo

Errr. No. The stigma of seeing what an abortion really is never leaves you. No matter your age.

        • Clayton Grant

Err. Yes. Kids today are inundated all their lives with graphic violence and many, many become numb to it. Why would this be any different? They would be shown aborted fetus/babies or maybe the entire procedure, but told by their teacher that it’s OK, because it’s legal. It ends up meaning nothing to them.

          • Sscud

It already means nothing to them, did you miss that part?

Certainly some would walk away feeling just as entitled to kill their unborn child as they were before viewing the film, because they have been told all their lives that THEY come before everything and everyone else. But there will be some who have been convinced that their unborn child really is just a blob of cells, that will see and understand that they really DO have a choice and that their choice can be life. Those who push the abortion agenda like to call themselves pro-choice, but most women who have an abortion will say that they felt they had no other choice!

Graphic violence FX and graphic violence documentation are two different things.. I luv stupid gory movies, but I have a 20 second clip from Chechnya that makes my skin crawl. I agree that condom distribution and sex ed have taken stigma out of premarital pregnancy, but there are a host of other factors as well, including legal autonomy at 16 in many states and welfare. As adults we think thats silly, as a 15 yr old pissed at her parents, not so much. Don’t forget that sex is pleasurable (or should be).. nobody wants to be fat but everyone likes to eat candy. I say show it, let them know what the whole banana looks like instead of just the tip.

        • Clayton Grant

That is my point. You and I think it’s abhorrent, but constant exposure of kids to violent acts numb them to it. Just take a look at Columbine, Stamps AR, et al. School shootings were almost unheard of prior to 1997.

          • Miranda Harms

It is still the better alternative to letting thousands of teens walk into abortion clinics, when they have absolutely no idea what actually happens. If it saved ONE baby, it would be worth it.

          • Clayton Grant

I agree. Was just tossing out the question because I know how our public school system operates. They would say “OK kids, these images are graphic, but they tell us we must show you.” Then they’ll whisper “but it’s still legal, so it’s OK”

That’s where I think you’re wrong. While there would be a minority of people who will turn their backs to the truth of what abortion is and what abortion does, the majority would be horrified. That’s why the media has refused to cover the Gosnell trial. It reveals abortion for what it is: The murder of defenseless babies. The MSM knows it cannot, under any circumstances, let the word get out about what abortion really does because there would be a swift and overwhelming outcry at the heinous nature of the act. Abortion as we know it would end almost immediately. So, the media refuses to cover it, or when they do, they don’t give the details. They don’t show the pictures. They don’t want you to see “Baby Boy A” for what he is: A murdered baby.

I grew up in a house with a lot of pro-life literature, including images of abortion and aborted babies and it didn’t trivialize it to me. I still get a little physically sick every time I see those pictures, even though people have been telling me that it’s okay because it’s legal because it’s okay for most of my life.

        • Clayton Grant

We aren’t talking about the home. The premise was teaching it in sex-ed. Your parents taught you from a pro-life standpoint. (good for them and you!) But our public education system would never allow that perspective to be taught with any effectiveness.

          • Farleyagain

I think especially next to the growth and development pictures of “wanted” babies would be very very effective.

          • Guest

            Excellent point!

      • Elmer Leeroy

I doubt it. I was pro-abortion until curiosity got the better of me and I googled Abortion. I watched videos of tiny complete people getting cut to pieces and scraped out of vaginas like so much garbage until I was sick. Those images haven’t left me, and I don’t know if they ever will. I’ve been pro-life ever since. Another thing they don’t tell you and known only to people close to someone who’s had an abortion… The psychological effect on the woman is DEVASTATING. “Woman’s health” my ass.

        • APO_AE_09173

I am pro-life. But on rare occasion a mother’s life is at risk. I know I have been there. My baby was growing inside out and into the wall of my uterus–risk of penetration was about 90%.
It was a devastating but necessary choice, and as horrible as it is necessary for the well being of the only viable citizen in the mix. My 2 year old needed a mom, and my husband a wife. The baby would never have survived–nor would I.
It was a horrible choice. This is why it needs to be legal, safe & rare. 25 years later I know I made the only choice I could for my family, but I often think about him.

          • http://amandakmelson.wordpress.com/ GreenEyedGal

But in the trifecta of stupidity that is “legal, safe and rare,” it’s only legal. It’s not safe. Ask Jennifer Morbelli, Davida Clark, Jennifer McCoy, Tonya Reaves, Tamia Russell, Chivon Williams, Karnamaya Mongar, Regina Johnson, et al how safe it is. The fact that I’m able to give you eight names off the top of my head without doing much research at all should tell you that it isn’t rare. We don’t need to keep abortion legal so it can be used as a form of birth control or damage control when the child is diagnosed as having Downs Syndrome or some other “problem.” I do agree that mothers shouldn’t be sentenced to death, so an exception should be made in the rare instance when it can be documented that the mother’s life really is at risk. But to keep all abortion legal for the sake of that truly rare instance is what allows murderers like Gosnell or Hodari or Carhart to exist, and the butchery of women and babies to continue unabated. These women and children died to protect another’s selfishness and greed. This is abortion.

          • Marty

My heart goes out to you for such a horrible decision that had to be made. The purpose of an abortion should be only to save a life…never to end one. And unfortunately on the “safe, legal and rare” front the “rare” has become quite common place.

          • APO_AE_09173

There I agree. I believe an honest discussion is in order. I would leave it largely woman to woman though.

This is very Solomonesque. Who’s rights do you subvert? In my case you would think is was clear, but I had a prolife GYN who told me my husband could remarry & my 2 year old have a step mom but the baby in me had a right to grow how he was growing–through my compromised uterus into my abdomen–inside out. Clearly it was medically necessary it took me being evacuated from an isolated military outpost to get the care I needed. When I finally got to Landstuhl the OB there was disgusted that I had been put at such risk for a non-viable baby.

In all the screaming about the rights of mother vs. baby we forget that it is a balance. We cannot subvert the citizen here (mom) and yet we must consider the new life. We need a rational pragmatic clearly defined legal criteria. It will function and be hated by both sides–say 12 weeks cut off. Then we need to educate our children & their friends to the wonder that is life and help them to avoid the path to abortion.

God will sort out the ugly details and hold those accountable He feels necessary to judge.

          • Marty

I think the men very much need to be part of this conversation…we already see men abdicating responsibility to their children on every front. Marginalizing them during this discussion only adds fuel to the idea that they share no responsibility.

          • APO_AE_09173

Oh I agree men are an integral part of the problem–but to calm the flames of a woman feeling “forced” by men to bear children of rape or incest we need to establish a woman to woman dialog.
There is a long and bitter history for many women on the abuses suffered at the hands of men. BTW that is why the “Pro-Choice” is so successful it exploits the fear many women have of being harmed by men.
I don’t buy into 98% of the BS–but I do recognize that most women do. We have taught women to fear men. It is remarkably sick.
I cannot imagine the helplessness heartache of a father who has no right to stop the mother of his baby from killing it. By the same token I have known women who are abandonned by men who want nothing to do with the life they created. (at all stages)
But first we must speak as women to women to set the peace and remove the threat.
Men can be a valuable catalyst by treating women better respecting them more as the core of society and less like breasts and vaginas.

    • Stacey Mehaffey Rawlings

I took a class in high school during my senior year called “American Social Problems” and one of the topics covered was abortion and that included a video. . Before they started the video, they gave students the option of sitting out in the hallway and told everyone that it would be graphic and if we felt sick at any time we could leave the room or put our heads down and not watch. They showed a video of an abortion from start to finish, including picking through the body parts to inventory and make sure they got everything. I hadn’t much thought about abortion before then. When I saw the tiny, little perfectly formed hands sitting on a bloodied paper towel, it cemented my pro-life position.

      • Lynn Lewis

Same here. We saw a video in grad school. It was a documentary, produced by a local TV reporter who was originally pro-“choice.” The pregnant woman was anesthetized, and then the “doctor” went to work on her. He was NOT gentle — it looked exactly like a butcher, processing a dead cow. When he turned on the suction, the pregnant woman SCREAMED (even though anesthetized!) and arched her back up on the table. The reporter was visibly shaken. When the mother woke up, she cried and cried and cried. The “nurses” helped her stagger out to a recovery room, where all the women were crying. I saw this video 25 years ago, and I still can’t get it out of my head.

        • Lynn Lewis

I forgot to mention that the reporter had to ask about 12 abortion clinics before she could find ONE that would allow the “procedure” to be filmed.

    • pokerwife1

Instead of showing what the process looks like, maybe they should have someone who has had an abortion come in and talk about the process and the emotional upheaval that goes along with it.

        • Joe

Carhart is the monster in MD. He is being investigated for the murder of the woman form New Rochelle NY who died after he aborted her 33 week old.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=7011573 Beth Lott

If only. He is being investigated, but not for murder. I don’t recall off the top of my head what the complaint was, but it was something more clerical than medical. The details are on the JillStanek.com blog somewhere, but I’m too lazy to search it right now.

At this point, as much as it’s frustrating, I’m not fussed what they get him on, so long as he goes down. Jennifer Morbelli deserves better, but the killing has to stop whether she gets it or not.

“inconsequential”. One wonders which atrocities and crimes against humanity he deems ink-worthy.
Kudos to CNSnews.com, in particular, for their throrough daily coverage.
The head-in-the-sand MSM cannot wish this monster away by providing the cover of silence. They are accessories after the fact.

  • HWarrior13

If this story would have been about the slaughter of 8 baby seals…msm would be all over it and Hollywood celebrities would be tweeting like mad, demanding justice, “club control” …and holding lavish, self indulgent, fundraisers

    • Patsplacepp

@FiftyThreePercent:disqus So I’m going to argue not on the fact that something horrible happened but on the fact that you need “MSM” to cover it. I haven’t been on Twichy long but tit for tat, the Main Stream Media is held as a bottom feeding portion of the news that is out there. So I guess my question (not taking away from the horror of this trial) why does it matter if CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC or CBS covers this, in your opinion? If you and responsible viewers don’t even get your news from these sources what does it matter? Also I’m guessing that “Hollywood Celebrities” only account for the left learning ones. Why don’t I see Dean Cain tweeting about this or Patricia Heaton or Stacy Dash or Ken Wahl (totally using these examples of the non-Hollywood types) What I have to say might be moot but the double standard of what MSM or the left has to say about this case seems a bit hypocritical if no one else is actually talking about. Sans the Boston Bombing right now, not even Fox News was reporting on this with the zeal many here on Twichy seem to expect from everyone else. Totally my two cents and as much as I learn to left i’m glad I have an outlet like Twichy to express my views to the right of the room. Cheers

      • BAW

The people who still get their news from the MSM need, deserve, and have a right to have important stories covered whether the MSM wants to cover them or not. And conservative, including “celebrities” are the ones who have covered it, discussed it, tweeted about it, pushed it into the public consciousness. Kristen Powers gets credit for forcing the media to cover it and she deserves credit for her article. But I think it was more likely things like the day there were (not sure of the number, I think about 200,000 tweets about Gosnell and it was apparently flooding Facebook) that forced the MSM to accept that people were going to know, they couldn’t hide it and looked really stupid when asked, they’d never heard or knew little about Gosnell.

      • gladys whipple hurtis

Because people who vote watch main stream media. they need to know what they are voting on and for.

  • nc

In the age of the 24-hr news cycle, even with the big stories that deservedly got a lot of attention last week, there was NO ROOM for this story?

This monster, who got caught, operated the way he did because he didn’t think he was doing anything wrong, morally or legally. Neither did the women who came to his clinic and submitted to him (until some of them, too late, realized what they had done). What kind of system do we have that allows this? How many more Gosnells are there still doing these things today, but maybe not as “sloppy” or without the “trophy jars?”

Big credit to Mr. Mullane, for his brilliant question, and for reminding us that traditional print journalism still exists, at least on one desk.

    • Chaitealover

There wasn’t room for this because the MSM [especially CNN’s sub channel HLN] has been covering the salacious Jodi Arias trial 24/7. Why? Isn’t that just a local story?

Whether he used untrained or otherwise unemployable staff to save money or because they were less likely to report him, he used more dangerous drugs because they were cheaper, he reused disposable supplies, etc. etc. all to increase profits. But I agree he was evil. It seems to me that Abortion is the big business the left falsely accuses Big Oil and others of being.

      • gladys whipple hurtis

I have never read a Grand Jury report before. I read the whole thing, at first word by word. I only scanned the last third, because it was so sickening to read in print. Life Site News has done a good job of writing up separate incidents. We can only read and absorb it in small amounts.

I’m perfectly aware that the gruesomeness of this story isn’t the reason MSM isn’t covering it, but I’ve been having a really bad time just reading about it. It’s the stuff of nightmares- maybe particularly for a mother & grandmother (Then again maybe not.)

Yes, it’s a hard story to stomach. But that’s not the only reason they aren’t covering it. Unfortunately.

The only way to execute Kermit Gosnell.

Rip his arms and legs off, snap his neck in the back of it, and suck out the organs. The same way as to how abortions are performed.

Oh, I think what awaits him when his life is over is far beyond anything we could even conceive of. Eternal Justice will be awesome. “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.”

A chilling and sickening question. To ignore this trial is to admit and be complacent that we are society of monsters who would cruelly and violently do away with the inconvenient among us.

The point is that abortion is disgusting, vile and the killing of a living thing. That’s the part no one want to talk about or see evidence of. The Germans pretended not to know what Hitler did to the Jews, Today people pretend not to know what abortion does to a baby. I hope that one reporter couldn’t stomach his lunch, Quite a sacrifice compared to what was lost in Gosnell murder factory.

  • Adam Baumb

The liberals realize their genitalia is in a bind. These horrific scenes — along with the fact the spate of mass murders have been committed by acolytes of the Democrats and progressive liberals — are hard to conceal. However, the low information idiots comprising the Democrat Party will never see it if their liberal slave masters can move heaven and earth to prevent these truths from seeing the light of day.

  • in_awe

Kudos to Mr. Mullane for having the integrity to cover the trial and to call out the agenda totting “journalist” ghosts. As deplorable as the actions of the evil Gosnell were, they pale in comparison to the damage done to our republic by the media aligning itself lock, stock and barrel with a political ideology and depriving our citizens of important news. A cornerstone of our nation is the free and active press – I fear for our future.

  • Christina_bdba

I wish more people would realize what abortion really is.Most states allow abortion to 24 weeks and that is the law in PA too.Does anyone think he is the only one practicing like this or that abortion doe earlier is any less grizzly?

I read one article where he did a two day abortion that failed. The woman didn’t come back for the second day. That baby survived, and is a kindergartner today. That’s the closest thing I hae read.

My question: Is the mainstream media ignoring this story because his patients were mostly black and mostly poor?

    • APW

Not at all. In fact, Doctor Evil treated white women too. They ignore the story because it reveals the horror of how large late term abortion babies are. They don’t want to be responsible for reporting that could result in a public outcry or loss of abortion supporters and loss of funding to planned parenthood. It makes them feel uncomfortable and unable to discuss this at any level without looking as depraved as Doctor Evil.

  • BAW

Now that the Gosnell case has forced me to engage in the abortion debate I was taken aback by being called a “forced birther” but discovered it is just their extremist label for anyone who disagrees. I suspect that those who call someone who believes in the “right to life” or considers themselves “pro-life” part of the “forced birth movement” are not part of the majority of “pro-choice” people who actually believe it should “legal, safe, and rare” but rather they are the extremist “pro-abortion” people who think the more abortion the better, no restrictions, no limitations, like Obama. Point is, I think I can talk to the average “pro-choice” types but I’m not wasting any time with anyone who calls be a “forced birther.” I’ll reject their label and move on.

Auschwitz is still in business, America. Only now it has lobbyists, funding, and the support of a major political party. Dr. Mengele (I mean Gosnell) deserves a fate much like the children he murdered.

  • Sassy3000

Handing out condoms in schools is like handing out sticks of dynamite and matches to kids and instructing them on the proper way to use them and when not to. And then claiming no correlation (or responsibility) to the increase to violence.

They teach these ignorant kids the mechanics of sex ONLY. These kids have NO IDEA of all the moral and emotional components involved because the far-left pukes don’t want to “Influence kids”. LMBO!!! What a joke! They are obviously working hand in hand with blood-thirsty money grubbing pukes at planned parenthood. Why else would they allow those sick psychotic perverts into the schools to show kindergartners how to masturbate! They are every pedophiles dream come true! That’s because they are too sick and stupid to acknowledge that those pukes who worked for McKinley were in fact PEDOPHILES! Therefore any rational intelligent DECENT Human Being would AUTOMATICALLY disregard and and all information they obtained by RAPING CHILDREN!

But do they?! NO! Apparently those sick pukes DON’T CARE how those pukes obtained their information regarding children supposedly enjoying sex! Well THEY CAN’T! It’s physically, emotionally and mentally IMPOSSIBLE for children who have not entered puberty to enjoy sex. Those claiming otherwise should be placed on a watch list by the police!

As for the butt-stupid teens who often think with their brains between their legs! I think it’s high time someone taught those arrogant little brats a thing or two about a FREE FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL!

It IS free, it has no side effects, it’s available 24 hrs a day without a prescription IT’S CALLED OPENING THE MOUTH AND SAYING NO! And NO! It’s nowhere near as hard as the pathological liars in the back pocket of planned parenthood claim. While everyone in school knew who the EASY GIRLS were and they were “popular” virtually no one respected them and often laughed at them behind their backs if not sometimes to their face.

The guys who date them for a couple of months and then grow bored with them since they usually had NOTHING to offer BUT cheap and easy sex. But the girls who said no to cheap and easy sex, NOW THOSE WERE THE GIRLS GUYS WOULD FIGHT OVER!

I know the Femi-Nasties hate annoying little things like facts but Oh Wah! Welcome to planet reality. And BTW! I still hear boys TODAY saying the easy girls are for dating, the Good Girls are for marrying.

Little girls of all ages can scream chauvinism to their hearts content, that’s NOT going to change reality one iota! lol

This is a comment from JimSpence on NBC… (http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/04/16/17761549-gosnell-murder-trial-grisly-testimony-of-abortions-gone-wrong)

    Too much truth…

    Hmmmm, interesting isn’t it?

A story as macabre as this story is and it gets less than 300 comments.

Had this been about denying some college bimbo’s “contraceptives” for her recreational sexual liaisons or some “binder” of women’s names, there would be thousands of hysterical Liberals/Progressives spewing their typical anger, rage, filth, racism and vitriol.

THIS MAN IS NOT A DOCTOR, HE IS A MONSTER!

The most vile and evil monster. The murderer of innocent living breathing babies. Babies that if given the chance would most likely have survived and could have been adopted by the thousands of caring, loving childless parents in the world. This case is not only horrific, it’s criminal. The implications of this slaughterhouse are wide spread. From the people using this “clinic” to other health systems to the governments own oversight systems failed. Failed miserably. Failed with known complicity.

The most complicit in this egregious story is the media. Of course covering something so criminal, so inhumane could detract from their rampant support of abortions. God forbid something so horrible were to be exploited it could turn public opinion against abortions.

The other most complicit group is the “women’s rights” klan. I’m sure some, if not many, of the Liberal women’s rights groups who promote and advocate for the woman to have control of her body were aware of this house of horrors. Where was NOW? Where were all the advocacy groups for women’s right? Where was Gloria Allred to prosecute this woman and baby-killer?

The Pennsylvania Department of Health had contact with the Women’s Medical Society dating back to 1979, when it first issued approval to open an abortion clinic. It did not conduct another site review until 1989, ten years later. Numerous violations were already apparent, but Gosnell got a pass when he promised to fix them. Site reviews in 1992 and 1993 also noted various violations, but again failed to ensure they were corrected.

After 1993, even that pro forma effort came to an end. Not because of administrative ennui, although there had been plenty. Instead, the Pennsylvania Department of Health abruptly decided, for political reasons, to stop inspecting abortion clinics at all…

So for over 34 years a blind eye and deaf ear were given to Gosnell and his murdering surrogates.

This was not overlooked, this was allowed. Allowed by local and state officials. The same people who are sworn to protect ALL life.

But even this total abdication by the Department of Health might not have been fatal. Another agency with authority in the health field, the Pennsylvania Department of State, could have stopped Gosnell single-handedly.

The Department of State, through its Board of Medicine, licenses and oversees individual physicians… Almost a decade ago, a former employee of Gosnell presented the Board of Medicine with a complaint that laid out the whole scope of his operation: the unclean, unsterile conditions; the unlicensed workers; the unsupervised sedation; the underage abortion patients; even the over-prescribing of pain pills with high resale value on the street. The department assigned an investigator, whose investigation consisted primarily of an offsite interview with Gosnell. The investigator never inspected the facility, questioned other employees, or reviewed any records. Department attorneys chose to accept this incomplete investigation, and dismissed the complaint as unconfirmed.

Shortly thereafter the department received an even more disturbing report — about a woman, years before Karnamaya Mongar, who died of sepsis after Gosnell perforated her uterus. The woman was 22 years old. A civil suit against Gosnell was settled for almost a million dollars, and the insurance company forwarded the information to the department. That report should have been all the confirmation needed for the complaint from the former employee that was already in the department’s possession. Instead, the department attorneys dismissed this complaint too… The same thing happened at least twice more: the department received complaints about lawsuits against Gosnell, but dismissed them as meaningless…

Here’s a more detailed explanation of how this poor woman died.

She was a 41-year-old, refugee who had recently come to the United States from a resettlement camp in Nepal. When she arrived at the clinic, Gosnell, as usual, was not there. Office workers had her sign various forms that she could not read, and then began doping her up. She received repeated unmonitored, unrecorded intravenous injections of Demerol, a sedative seldom used in recent years because of its dangers. Gosnell liked it because it was cheap. After several hours, Mrs. Mongar simply stopped breathing. When employees finally noticed, Gosnell was called in and briefl y attempted to give CPR. He couldn’t use the defibrillator (it was broken); nor did he administer emergency medications that might have restarted her heart. After further crucial delay, paramedics finally arrived, but Mrs.Mongar was probably brain dead before they were even called. In the meantime, the clinic staff hooked up machinery and rearranged her body to make it look like they had been in the midst of a routine, safe abortion procedure.

Even then, there might have been some slim hope of reviving Mrs. Mongar. The paramedics were able to generate a weak pulse. But, because of the cluttered hallways and the padlocked emergency door, it took them over twenty minutes just to find a way to get her out of the building. Doctors at the hospital managed to keep her heart beating, but they never knew what they were trying to treat, because Gosnell and his staff lied about how much anesthesia they had given, and who had given it. By that point, there was no way to restore any neurological activity. Life support was removed the next day. Karnamaya Mongar was pronounced dead.

Once again, where were all the suffragette’s? Where are the Betty Friedans? Where is Gloria Steinem?

If this isn’t enough to outrage you perhaps this will stir the Liberal bleeding hearts a little bit.

A former employee testified “that white patients often did not have to wait in the same dirty rooms as black and Asian clients. Instead, Gosnell would escort them up the back steps to the only clean office — O’Neill’s — and he would turn on the TV for them. Mrs. Mongar, she said, would have been treated ‘no different from the rest of the Africans and Asians.'”

Where were all the race baiters? Where were the Jesse Jackson, Al Sharptons, the Whoopi Goldbergs?

And it wasn’t just government agencies that did nothing. The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and its subsidiary, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, are in the same neighborhood as Gosnell’s office. State law requires hospitals to report complications from abortions. A decade ago, a Gosnell patient died at HUP after a botched abortion, and the hospital apparently filed the necessary report. But the victims kept coming in. At least three other Gosnell patients were brought to Penn facilities for emergency surgery; emergency room personnel said they have treated many others as well. And at least one additional woman was hospitalized there after Gosnell had begun a flagrantly illegal abortion of a 29-week-old fetus. Yet, other than the one initial report, Penn could find not a single case in which it complied with its legal duty to alert authorities to the danger. Not even when a second woman turned up virtually dead.

The grand jury report in the case of Kermit Gosnell, 72, is among the most horrifying I’ve read. “This case is about a doctor who killed babies and endangered women. What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable babies in the third trimester of pregnancy – and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors,” it states. “The medical practice by which he carried out this business was a filthy fraud in which he overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels – and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths.”

“Stephen Massof described how he snipped the spinal cords of babies, calling it, ‘literally a beheading. It is separating the brain from the body.’ He testified that at times, when women were given medicine to speed up their deliveries, ‘it would rain fetuses. Fetuses and blood all over the place.'”

As Kirsten Powers, a Liberal, recently stated in her USA Today op-ed, “Let me state the obvious. This should be front page news. When Rush Limbaugh attacked Sandra Fluke, there was non-stop media hysteria. The venerable NBC Nightly News’ Brian Williams intoned, ‘A firestorm of outrage from women after a crude tirade from Rush Limbaugh,’ as he teased a segment on the brouhaha. Yet, accusations of babies having their heads severed — a major human rights story if there ever was one — doesn’t make the cut.”

Let’s not forget the outrage from the left when Mitt Romney just mentioned keeping a list of women in a “binder”. You would have thought he had a binder filled with pornography. The Liberal and media outrage as apoplectic, other than to normal people who knew it was laughable propaganda.

We all know this has been a blatant journalistic malfeasance. But then again, our lamestream Liberal media is not interested in anything but yellow journalism. This type of story is damaging to their Liberal/Progressive bias. They knew if this were to get out into the mainstream it could derail much of their coercive support of abortion and their indignant belief they are for women’s rights.

Had this been a story of some white supremacists or, as the Libbies like to call them, the “Right Wing Nut Jobs” protesting or attacking an abortion clinic, it would be front page news.

If you think this is the only place in America this type of gruesome slaughter is occurring you are fully indoctrinated and hooked on the Kool-Aid propaganda. I’ll wager there is at least one, if not more, of these infanticide clinics in each major Liberal city. Most definitely in the 32 sanctuary cities that Liberals protect so rabidly.

This is the shame that we have allowed on our great nation.

And we wonder why we have such a violent society. Why we have mentally ill miscreants running around murdering innocent people. When you make murder so innocuous, so trivial, that slaughtering a child in the mother’s womb is accepted, why are we so alarmed when it happens in our schools, theaters and other public places.

When we dismiss one form of murder, how can we believe that the sanctity of life should be preserved anyplace else.

Here are some links to some interesting articles about this monster, if you’re willing to go there.

With all the methods of birth control available to women today, how can the number of abortions be so high? Because it’s available as an option, that’s why. A morning after pill? Ok. But this? Sorry, this has to stop. It NEEDS to be stopped.

  • June Clinkenbeard

I feel like such a wimp. How does anyone sit and listen to the testimony of that dispicable man? I can’t read most of the articles because it makes me ill. • Sarah Conner

What’s it finally going to take to get people to see the agenda on the so-called left?

  • APO_AE_09173

Save the death of the woman. What this man did was ostensibly legal. Morally repugnant but legal.
He will likely not be found guilty of the deaths of the babies but of illegal drug practices, operating a “corrupt organization” i.e. the non licensed medical practitioners.
Dr Gosnell will lose his license, he has lost his reputation.
It should have been covered for the mal treatment of his patients, the Hippocratic oath clearly meant nothing to him. It is sad. This is NOT what anyone advocating for Roe v. Wade intended. This was a modern Auschwitz in Pennsylvania.

    • SophieRo3

‘Save the death of the woman. What this man did was ostensibly legal. Morally repugnant but legal.’

Listen, luv, and try to wrap your mind around this:

Once a foetus is living separate and apart from its mum, it is no longer a foetus. It IS a human being. It IS a FULL PERSON under the law. It IS entitled to the EXACT same constitutional rights and protections under the law that you enjoy. It IS entitled to the EXACT same privileges and immunities under the law that you enjoy.

Any of the foetuses that were born alive in Gosnell’s clinic were EQUAL TO YOU UNDER THE LAW. You are not entitled to anything more than they were legally entitled to be afforded.

This case is NOT about abortion once those foetuses leave the mums’ bodies. This case is NOT about ‘choice.’ The mum and the physician are REQUIRED under the law to seek medical treatment for the child. Killing a live ‘foetus’ is not partial birth abortion or a ‘post-birth abortion.’ IT IS MURDER. Period. Story. End of.

You can have whatever opinion you want on abortion, but that opinion is
IRRELEVANT here, toots. However one feels about abortion in general is, frankly, irrelevant in the Gosnell case. He is charged with murdering 8 people, 7 of which were newborns. Yes, he more than likely broke Pennsylvania law by performing abortions on women carrying foetuses that were older than 24 weeks, but the primary charges concern his premeditated ‘foetal demise’ activities, i.e., stabbing human beings in the neck with scissors and cutting their spinal columns. If he had done that to a 3 month-old baby or an adult woman, no one would hesitate to label the action ‘MURDER.’ Well, the law makes no distinction between a 30 year-old woman, a 3 month-old baby boy, and a 5 minute-old newborn girl. NONE.

You had better examine your conscience forthwith. With your kind of moral
equivalence, you might find yourself facing the death penalty one day…just as
      Dr Kermit Gosnell is now.

BTW: Don’t EVER talk about how much you love the Constitution again. It is obvious that you are nothing more than a cafeteria constitutionalist.

      • hdc77494

Live babies are born all the time in abortion clinics, we just don’t hear about it. I saw a legal write up yesterday that said Roe V Wade says women can get an abortion regardless of how far along they are, even if the only benefit to the mother is emotional, and only the doctor, with no oversight has the authority to rule whether it was necessary. You could legally induce delivery on a full term baby, stick a vacuum hose into it’s skull as it’s emerging from the birth canal, vacuum out the brain killing the baby, and no one under federal law can charge you with anything. I certainly don’t agree with it, but apparently it’s going to be tough to convict Gosnell.

        • SophieRo3

You are confusing partial-birth abortion with actual live births. Once the baby leaves the body of the mother, it is no longer a ‘foetus.’ It is no longer an issue of ‘choice.’

I disapprove of partial-birth abortion and think that the idea that geography should decide what makes a life is absurd, but many legal fictions are. Yes, under Federal and most state laws, the foetus’ brains can be sucked out – Hell, its head can be sawed off – AS LONG AS PART OF THE BODY IS STILL IN THE BIRTH CANAL. Once the child is born – completely separate from the mum’s body – it CANNOT, however, be killed under Federal or state law. In fact, the law is quite clear on this.

Just because a woman wanted an abortion, she is not entitled to a dead baby should her ‘foetus’ survive a botched abortion and be born. She and her doctor do not get to kill the live child because she wanted an abortion and he failed to perform it properly. ‘Snipping to ‘ensure fetal demise’ is his own euphemism for first-degree murder.

Several of his employees have already pleaded guilty to multiple counts of third-degree murdered (plea bargained down) and other felonies.

Additionally, abortion on foetuses with a gestational age of 24 or more weeks in Pennsylvania is illegal.

Sophie, you’re preaching to the choir, thought I had been unaware roe v wade says abortion is legal all the wsy to term. If gosnell’s violation is just illegal late term abortion, and the feds say it’s legal, will they even be able to. Jail him?

Maybe, we are just speaking past one another. Planned Parenthood v Casey, to some degree, overturned Roe or, perhaps, I should say, it modified and clarified it. Let me back up for a second, Roe did not say that abortion for any reason was legal up until term. It devised the trimester system and, as the pregnancy progressed, the rights of the state and the foetus began to overtake the mother’s. It was a horrendous decision that even its author, Justice Blackmun, later admitted eerily resembled Dred Scott in legal reasoning….an opinion shared by Harvard ConLawProf, Lawrence Tribe – a pro-choice Prog.

Getting back to Casey, the Court held that reasonable restrictions on abortion could be constitutional. In that case, it upheld parental notification, informed consent and 24-hour waiting period requirements. It also held that the state could ban abortions after a reasonable term except to save the life of the mother.

The issue in Gosnell – even though he has been charged with performing illegal abortions among myriad charges – is MURDER. The 7 charges of FDM pertaining to infants involve ‘foetuses’ that completely exited the birth canal and were not part of the mother at all. IIRC – and not that it matters from a legal standpoint – even their umbilical cords had been cut. These children were living and breathing on their own away from their mothers. As such, they had all constitutional rights and protections, privileges and immunities as their mums, Dr Gosnell, any of the staff, the people walking down the street, you, me, and the President of the United States.

The ‘snips that ensured fetal demise’ did NOT take place within the birth canal. They did not take place when the nail on the weest piggy toe was hanging on in the birth canal. They took place on other tables…and often in other rooms. These babies were witnessed to have been breathing, moving, and some were even crying.

If I were to go for IVF and demand twins and the doctor screwed up and I had triplets, neither he nor I have a legal right to kill the third. If a woman wants an abortion, she is not entitled to a dead foetus or baby, as the case may be. She can sue for malpractise, but she cannot demand the doctor kill the baby because her intent was to have a dead baby.

I have to run, but I’ll BBL.

Wondering if he kept the little feet in trophy jars for “DNA purposes” (his words) b/c he had upscale clients w/discreet needs that he could later extort.

Was the same question ever asked of Dr Steven Brigham?

The best way to end abortion is to value mothers and honor them in the society. We don’t–we tell moms what a waste they are to not be in the work force. We tell them that they are unfulfilled and that only by displaying machismo is skirts are they real people.
Women are the center of humanity–without us there is no reason for society or progress. Without mothers who bear and raise their babies nothing–not one human achievement matters. No art, no science, no landing on the moon–women and children first.

You want ot stop abortion–volunteer to help a mom.

The abortion atrocity has been going on since 1973 – it is a long, long cover-up. This is just the tip of the ice berg and I hope the stories keep coming. There is no defense to this stuff and the pro-aborts must hide under a rock until the furor dies down. Hope it never does.

Thank you, Mr. Mullane – your efforts and dedication are so appreciated. Good man!

The question that needs to be asked of Dr. Gosnell: What purpose is served by snipping the spine of babies who have been born ” dead”?
