Good grief. Where is the GOP?ย Anyone? Bueller?

More Twitter users are wondering the same thing, and are worrying that the GOP will bite its own nose off to spite its face.

Hints of a potential run against the absurd Sen. Franken (D-Minn.)?

We hope someone has a plan.

  • V the K

For a state that proclaims itself to be a bastion of sensibility, Minnesota sure does elect a lot of ass-clowns. Al Franken. Jesse Ventura. Keith Ellison.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

I think they lost the reputation for sensibility when they allowed Garrison Keillor to be the “voice” of Minnesota.

Al Franken won because of voter fraud, pure and simple. 1,099 felons voted for him, 243 have been convicted. There would undoubtedly be more, but the standard for conviction is that they ‘knowingly’ voted unlawfully. They can get off simply by claiming that they ‘didn’t know’. And that’s just the felons… there are many other instances of fraud, and Franken only won by 312 votes.

      • CatHerder

That sounds more like subsidence than landslide ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • conservativechick

ONE more reason for valid VOTER ID! Every state should require that!

        • V the K

Minnesota also has a crazy-ass “Same Day Voter Registration” scheme where you can register and vote the same day. The Democrats work that scheme like a printing press. ID requirements are minimal (basically, an envelope with a name and address on it), and though the state pinky swears they follow up to see if there were any irregularities… A. They don’t really (Democrats run all the offices that would investigate fraud), and B. So what? By the time fraud is detected, the Democrat is already in office. There’s no provision to remove a politician that was elected by voter fraud.

          • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

            Or, they could go from precinct to precinct, registering (and Voting) for Franken or Ellison…(Remember Hamilton County, Ohio? 115% Voter turn-out?) Jawamax 8<{D}

I would LOVE for states to be able easily secede!

I think it’s hilarious whenever liberals talk about red states taking more federal money. For starters, California gets more welfare than any other state.

Secondly, most of the federal welfare goes to the 40% blue democratic base in those red states.

Your side brags about getting the minority vote, yet you don’t want the responsibility or the consequences (high crime, lower test scores, teen pregnancy) that are problematic with those communities!

            BTW:
If you live in Maryland, you’re probably paying very high state taxes. Your state is the one in the northeast that has not elected a republican governor in the last 16 years.

          • marylandman

No you complete idiot. It doesn’t matter that California takes the most welfare money, they PAY THAT BACK IN TAXES. Red states take tons of federal money but you’re all stupid and poor so you pay nothing back in taxes. RED STATES ARE WHY THERE IS A DEFICIT. You guys would go bankrupt in a year without blue state subsidy.

You really think blue staters would dig tunnels into red states? You guys have higher rates of teen pregnancy, infant mortality, obesity, illiteracy, etc. I could go on, believe me there are tons of embarrassing statistics about red states. When people say “America is falling behind the rest of the world” (which we are, statistically), it’s because red states hold us back.

I don’t think Michele Bachmann needs any help from the state GOP. She’s in better financial shape than they are. Unlike the MNGOP, she is popular and has no problem raising funds on her own.

Objectively speaking, the Franken seat is more challenging to get than some think.

For starters, Minnesota has a solid independence party, which will probably take away votes either from Franken or from the GOP candidate.

For the GOP to win this seat, they’ll need someone who can pull votes from Hennepin and Ramsey County in the MSP area and a more liberal independent candidate.

If Tom Horner runs for Senate as the IP person, it’ll be tougher for the GOP to win.

“Is talk Conservative-Libertarian radio show host, Jason Lewis, going to run for the U.S. Senate against Commie Clown, Al Franken? Possibly!”

  • teamfrazzled

Democrat voter fraud is real, more widespread than appreciated and not just in MN-a few just happened to have gotten caught there but no doubt have figured out how to lessen the odds they will be caught the next time. Where it is entrenched and a smooth operation and way of life, it means any opponent will be denied victory with just a mere majority. They must win by as much as 52% in some places whereas Democrats will “win” even when they really lost-just as Franken did. If Democrats were the victims of fraud instead of the perpetrators and beneficiaries of it, we would have laws in place already for voter ID and a better means to insure convicted felons, illegals, etc. aren’t helping steal elections. Their strategy is always the same-INSTANTLY denounce anyone fighting election fraud as trying “suppress” the vote-as if there is a legitimate place for fraud. As long as it benefits Democrats, then YES, they believe fraud is justified and THEIR ability to easily commit it must be PROTECTED. It took me a long time to come to grips with reality about this-but Democrats will always put the best interests of the party before that of the nation. Their lust for power trumps all. You see it in specific people of other parties of course- but for Democrats it’s what drives the party itself. A shocking percent of Democrats will either silently or openly declare the ends to their means is justified and unconcerned if some Democrats are only getting elected due to fraud. And then say something like “even if it’s true, it’s actually for our own good” of course ’cause Democrats just CARE so much! I’m pretty sure every 3rd world dictator thug told himself the same thing-and that is exactly how I view Democrats.

Not to worry, we’re almost out of D-List celebs to vote for. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Besides now that we know his voter base (felons, Mickey Mouse, Spiderman et al) it’ll hopefully be an actual election issue and make it harder for him to win if you can find someone with an I or R by their name willing to run against him…

  • Matt

If he wins, 12 years of this idiot in the Senate should be Minnesota’s greatest shame.

  • Jim McCormack

Franken is a fraud-Ellison is a clown -dumb as hell.. Get all Muslims out of this hemisphere…Where were the Republicans when Franken cheated to win-?-They folded like a cheap suit..

  • kim

what will it matter? union voters will be bussed in and more votes will be found in trunks of cars. MN doesn’t mind voter fraud and apparently, from the lack of demand upon Congress, neither do Americans

  • John Thomas “Jack” Ward III

    SOLUTION:Replace Ellison with Rocky the Flying Squirrel, and Franken with Bullwinkle. PROBLEM SOLVED! Jawamax 8<{D}

  • Gallatin

They’re busy consulting john mccain and lyndsay graham to figure out which rino to run, because only franken “light” can beat franken.

Franken is what you get when unions run your state. Public employee unions are inherently corrupt because the paymasters (taxpayers) are not party to hiring, pay, perks, work schedule, job description, seniority, grievance processes, tenure, termination clauses, benefit negotiations, budgets, etc. The Franken foxes are guarding the hen house as they say.

Wow Brunch must be all the rage. The DSCC is offering a “Brunch with Barack” contest with a $5.00 or more contribution.

RNC and GOP are both kaput — all but dead.
    I already re-registered ‘Unaffiliated’.

    We’re a Socialist Nation now.
    Enjoy.

GOP is screwed. Dems got the hole-shot for 2014. I’m moving to Switzerland. Call me when its over.

  • maplebob23

Al Franken is a member of the club now. And we still aren’t.

My group is ready to run ads we just need the money to do it.

  • beebop1952

    Are you kidding me?
If there was any question as to who in the Dim party would emerge to replace Dennis Kuccinich voila! Franken.

  • http://alankhenderson.blogspot.com/ alanhenderson

James Lileks is from Minnesota…think he could be talked into running?

  • precursor

    Democrats are showing desperation….

Franken is taking a page right out of obamas book. Give away something for FREE. what a crock!! I can’t believe anyone would sign up for this

  • Chip

If Al Franken hadn’t cheated his way into the Senate, we wouldn’t have Obamacare. He cast the deciding vote.

  • descolada9

The question is, will it make any difference who runs and how much money they have if college students from WI cross state lines to vote and if Al can magically produce missing ballots during the recount?

  • swen13

Here in Minnesota, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Duluth vote for anything with a D behind it’s name (see Franken, Ellison, James Janos, Klobuchar, Oberstar, Mondale, Obama, Perpich and others ),unfortunately they outnumber the rest of the state that does not. 3 county’s blue the rest red. Voted for Bachmann, Emmer, Romney, Bills.

  • swen13

Franken defeated Coleman. Coleman was the deciding vote against drilling in the mosquito infested waste land known as ANWR. Billions of barrels of oil off limits, Thanks. republican turned democrat turned republican. May have voted for the No-care law. No prize for anyone.

  • TheOriginalDonald

Pawlenty better fix the mess HE made by not stopping the recount or else his name will be mud.

  • Guest

If felons are no longer being permitted to vote in Minnesota,
“Jeff” Franken (or whatever his name is) must be scared of losing his seat.

  • Mike Peterson

If Jason Lewis runs, the only way Franken can win is if he cheats, like substatially. Because in terms of platform, speeches, debates, Lewis destroys this assclown.
