It was announced by the American Conservative Union this morning that Sarah Palin will be speaking at CPAC 2013.

Predictably, Twitter liberals immediately threw a hissy fit. That’s how oh-so-irrelevant she is, you see.

By ecstatic, they mean running scared.  Bless their hearts.

  • http://twitter.com/__abstraction__ An Abstraction

Well at least they have the comedy presentation at CPAC squared-away…..

Dancing lady-parts outside the security fence?

      • Vennoye

Left hit the bottom of the barrel with Code Pink at the DNC….not too much left lower than that!! Must hate Sarah Palin so much because they cannot reduce her to “lady parts” like they have all their own!!

    • lainer51

sure do, S. Fluke was invited.

Btw, Jeb is speaking too, but about what? Immigration amnesty? Wasting more tax money on “Education”

    • $2346491

Gosh… This whole Jeb Bush thing really needs to be stamped out. I hope someone sits him in a room and points out that the Republican establishment would prefer Rubio.

    • kim

how he’d be like Lyndon Johnson if we would just elect him. Just what I want. yet another Republican who wants to lead like a Democrat

  • Joe W.

Like flies to a smelly turd on a sidewalk, the vermin maggot liberals swarm at the mere mention of the work “Palin”…..She lives rent free in their empty heads.

      So true.

Well, thanky, Mr, Troll!! And may the Good Lord Bless your atheistic little heart as well!!

    • $23293071

I certainly wouldn’t liken the Honey Grifter to a smelly turd on the sidewalk.

To paraphrase Mr. Hankey: ‘I bet her turds smell all flowery.’

      • Joe W.

Only a true Palin fearing liberal puss pocket would deduce that I was comparing Gov. Palin to a turd. You know as well as I that I was likening YOU and your gutter sniping cohorts to the aforementioned smelly turd. As for the smell? Sorta reminds you of your home, eh Hasbro??

        • $23293071

I wish Palin had her own tv show. Her twatterings on the Twitter aren’t enough to satisfy my PDS.

Here’s a real; argument: The former half-term governor of Alaska quit on the people who elected her because it was just too hard.

          • J. Cox

So..using your standards…the Senator from Ill. that quit should be held to the exact same standard?Of course not…hypocrisy is what you live on.

          • Bitter Scribe

He “quit” because he was elected President. She quit because running her mouth on Fox News was easier than doing her job as governor of Alaska. See the difference? Of course not.

          • J. Cox

She quit..oh whats the use..you failures don’t read anyhow.Funny how the reasons she left early ,written by her and posted here are ignored. However, the point still stands, that double standards are the only standards you hypocrits use.Just a FYI..she got the job on Fox well after she left office…but ignore the facts a little more troll.

No, we have no quitter half-term governor with three failed reality tv shows, a child born to unwed teenage daughter, one born to son’s preacher’s daughter girlfriend whom he married Wasilla style(with child) only to divorce before baby was teething. Whose husband has been accused of sex-trafficking involving a woman with the last name Tripp that also becomes the same name as their illegitimate grandson. With three college age children but not a single one enrolled at a university nor will piper matriculate to higher education due to the fact that the grifter granny pulls her out of school constantly for campaigning and bus to nowhere tours. We are SO jealous execrable palin klan.

Tina Fey said it moron. Sarah Palin said you can see Russia from Alaska – meaning that an Alaskan governor has foreign policy experience with 2 countries, unlike an Arkansas governor or a Chicago communist organizer who never finished a legislative term and voted present 90% of the time.

            Sure I can.

          • Verreck

So according to the right she has foreign policy experience because she can see Russia from Alaska? No wonder you clowns did such a marvelous job with Iraq.

          • J. Cox

Wow..troll that cannot read. Please post the quote of her saying that…or is SNL and the dailey show also your source for news?Pathetic doesn’t come close.

          • Verreck

I guess while you were criticizing me for not reading, you didn’t read Libery2076 who said…

“Sarah Palin said you can see Russia from Alaska – meaning that an Alaskan governor has foreign policy experience with 2 countries,”

To which I replied. What she actually said to Charlie Gibb was…

GIBSON: What insight into Russian actions, particularly in the last couple of weeks, does the proximity of the state give you?

PALIN: They’re our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.

But that’s not really the incredibly dumb thing she said. That was when she was dodging questions, er…I mean answering questions from Katie Couric…

Couric: “Well, explain to me why that enhances your foreign-policy credentials.”

Palin: “Well, it certainly does, because our, our next-door neighbors are foreign countries, there in the state that I am the executive of. And there…”

Couric: “Have you ever been involved in any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?”

Palin: “We have trade missions back and forth, we do. It’s very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia. As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where do they go? It’s Alaska. It’s just right over the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there, they are right next to our state.”

So…she gives the order to scramble the jets? Last time I checked, the governor of Alaska was not in the U.S. Air Force chain of command.

Perhaps she gets a daily intelligence briefing on Russian activities? Umm, unlikely.

Maybe she’s responsible for “an eye…being kept on this very powerful nation”? Perhaps she has a really, really powerful telescope in her house from which she can monitor the Russians?

You are correct sir…Pathetic doesn’t come close.

          • mike_in_kosovo

            You’re right….your pathetic post doesn’t come close.

They get to add and take away when they are wrong, and mix in lies..its a typ lib strategy when the facts are not on their side.

          • mike_in_kosovo

When are facts *ever* on their side?

          • Jackptg

Sarah Palin never said SHE could see Russia from Alaska ; it was Tina Fey in an SNL Skit.( Sarah Palin said “They’re our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.”)

Its Mr Gibson in the interview who initiates the issue of Alaska’s proximity to Russia which might give Sarah Palin an understanding to Russia’s actions.
As a gesture, she took the initiative and gave the American people some trivia that most Americans didn’t know, that you can actually see Russia from an island in Alaska.

          • Verreck

Nice try. She is the one who brought it up when she was trying to offer her insight into why Russia invaded Georgia.

          • Jackptg

Sarah Palin wrote the following about the Couric interview.
            ———-

“As for Katie Couric-where do I begin? If all you know of me comes from that interview, then you don’t know me. Needless to say, I have had better interviews. Out of the many, many hours of tape, I had bad moments just like everyone else. I choked on a couple of responses, and in the harried pace of the campaign, I mistakenly let myself become annoyed and frustrated with many of her repetitive, biased questions. What I didn’t know was that those few moments would come to define the interviews; they were repeated and mocked so often that everything else has seemingly been forgotten. And that is unfortunate.”

“I knew the media would distort my responses on social issues.
But I thought surely they couldn’t distort my economic and energy-related responses, because they would have to stick with the facts. I was mistaken.”

“Though Katie edited out substantive answers, she dutifully kept in the moments where I wore my annoyance on my sleeve.
For instance, when she asked me how living in Alaska informed my foreign policy experience, I began by trying to frame the geo- graphical context. Lower 48ers grow up seeing our state tucked
with Hawaii in a little square off the coast of Mexico on the nightly news weather map. So I began by trying to squeeze a geographical primer into a ten-second sound bite, explaining that only a narrow maririme border separates Alaska from Russia, that we’re very near the Pacific Rim countries, and that we’re bordered by Canada”

“But Katie interrupted and I did not complete my answer. I wish now I had stopped her and said, “Here’s the geographical context. Now may I answer your question?”

There was so much I could and should have said, and I later kicked myself for not doing so. There was much Katie appeared not to know, or care to hear about. For instance, that Alaska’s geographic position makes our relations with Pacific Rim countries of great strategic import, and that we’re the air crossroads of the world. That Russian bombets often play cat-and-mouse without Air Force near Alaska’s airspace.

That I dealt with Canadian officials on a weekly basis and have signed agreements concerning everything from security to salmon fishing, and that NAFTA has significantly affected out economy.

That melting polar sea ice has created new trade routes but has also created security threats to North Ametica.

That Alaska takes on Japanese and Russian fishing trawlers that want to ravage the ocean floot. That Chinese and Russian energy companies had both sought access to (and possible control of) our natural gas resources.

That these and other countries were staking their own resource claims in Arctic waters while the U.S. sat on its hands. And that, yes, you can indeed see Russia from Alaska.”

And those were just the foreign policy issues (though issues certainly foreign to most governors). How much more I would have liked to say about Alaska’s contribution to the U.S. economy,
its potential to help the nation reduce its dependence on foreign energy sources, and the delicate balancing act required to manage and responsibly develop our abundant wildlife resources.

But Katie wasn’t interested in discussing these issues. And when I did, she didn’t air them.

The governors of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California have constant dealings with the Mexican government, particularly with regard to trade. Same with all the states that border Canada. So, yes, the governor of Alaska does deal with the foreign neighbor known to us as Russia.

          • TexSizzle

And with the neighbor on the other side, Canada.

I hate it when people continue to misquote others and hold something they never said against them.

For instance, Al Gore never said he invented the internet. But the press decided to make it a ‘fact’ and it is still repeated as gospel.

          • TexSizzle

So you’re saying you agree that claiming Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from her house is misquoting her? If so, this is the first time I’ve seen anything you said that I agree with.

          • Sons Thunder

Well, I’m glad we could find a point of agreement! I’ve seen people cite Tina Fey’s line as though Palin really said it. It seems to be one of those lies that refuse to die.

Sarah felt she could do more by leaving the governorship and going out on her own. It’s obviously worked, as you’re all so rabid about her.

Sarah Palin didn’t just cut spending; she saved, reformed, and prioritized like a good fiscal manager. She invested $5 billion in state savings, overhauled education funding, paid down debt, invested $2.6 billion in an education fund for the future, and funded a Senior Benefits Program to provide support for low-income Alaskan seniors.

In stark contrast to President Obama and other governors whose fiscal records are dogged by credit downgrades, Palin left Alaska with an improved credit rating during and following her tenure as governor. Standard & Poor’s raised Alaska’s credit rating from AA to AA+ in April 2008.

Then in 2010, both Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s upgraded Alaska to AAA for the first time in the state’s history due to policies enacted by Palin that made the state’s finances more than solvent.

Sarah Palin served 32 out of 48 months; the same percentage that Obama served of his Senate term (not including the two-year break he spent campaigning) and accomplished everything she set out to do in that time.

Sarah Palin faced numerous, bogus ethics complaints from filers .

Every time an ethics charged was leveled, Palin has to spend anywhere from 20k – 25k in legal bills (if not more) while the complaint filer (when the complaint was tossed out) paid NOTHING. Therefore, there was no reason to stop. In addition, the state was paying close to 2 million in investigation charges and depositions.

Sarah Palin was facing over 500k in legal bills and a locked out legislature. Had she stayed, I can only imagine the total amount of complaints that would of been filed or the additional legal fees.

Sarah Palin knew that for the sake of her state, her country, her family, and her political voice, it would be best if she stepped aside from the governorship. She resigned so the state could move forward.

        • GaryTheBrave

You bring up an important point. She accomplished her goals. Should one stay in office if they have achieved what they set out to do just because the office has a set term? Could she come up with new goals? Likely, but could she get any of them done within the time-frame considering the legal insurrection she was facing?

Palin is so 2009. Just go away already.
Most amusing thing about it is that Rubio, Ryan, Paul, etc. could all care less about her. (In fact, I get the feeling that Ryan doesn’t think much about her intellect.)

    • DreadPirateStarbucks

Oh really? You get that feeling? From your personal discussions with him? Or are you just pulling crap out of thin air?

      • $2346491

Just from the way he reacted when questioned about her during the campaign. Ryan emphasized that he only met her once and made veiled references about people who made the party seem anti-intellectual.

        • HerneTheHunter

Yeah, you mean Mr. Intellectual who got his ass handed to him by Joe “J-O-B-S” Biden. The same buffoon that was annihilated by the anti-intellectual Sarah Palin.

          • $2346491

Umm.. Palin didn’t come off well in this debate and Biden was much less aggressive than in 2012. The key for a VP candidate is to make a case that you can be a credible President. Everyone agreed that Ryan passed that threshold, especially after the debate. Nobody thought Palin was ready for primetime.

As for the debate himself, I know that people would have liked Ryan to be more aggressive. I thought that he handled it correctly. The only way to shut Biden up would have ended Ryan’s political career and led to him spending a night in jail for assaulting the current VP.

          • kim

Palin didn’t come off well? Her facts were correct. Wasn’t it Lib media who tried to make her look stupid over what the V.P’s job was? But she was absolutely correct. The V.P. IS the President of the Senate

          • $2346491

With indies.. No she did not. I have non political friends who don’t like her. She wasn’t ready for prime time. It is ironic that Ryan, who is two years younger than she was in 2008 did come off as a plausible President. Heck, I think that you could have put 38 year old Ryan on the ticket in 2008 and people would have felt more confident in his potential as President than Palin.

BTW, I don’t think that Rubio comes off Presidential yet, but the water bottle incident suggests that he has untapped political potential.

          • jester2939

Of course she was correct – Biden was the one who was saying stupid and incorrect things all the time. That’s why the DNC campaign constantly had to put him in hiding. I remember Sarah was interviewd on CNN right after something stupid Biden had said. Sarah asked the interviewer why they weren’t covering it. He mumbled something. Then Sarah asked if SHE had said it would they cover it? The interviewer said, yes, they would. Sarah had a “what the hell?” kind of look on her face – and so did I. The media made no attempt whatsoever to hide their double standard. And they still don’t to this day. Kudos to Sarah for fighting back.

          • michael s

They’re(vice presidents) are in charge of the Senate were her words. She was wrong for saying that. Andrea Tantaros was wrong in trying to defend Palin. I’ll never forget how Alan Colmes put Andrea in her place Explained in detail why Palin was wrong and why Andrea was wrong in defending her. Alan put a lid on Andrea’s smarmy mouth. It was GREAT

          • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_WWFTUCBOPWNF5NAZKRWWH22BDA Blackwater

Read the Constitution idiot! The Vice President is the PRESIDENT of the Senate. The VP is in fact an integral part of the Senate.

Though in recent years, the VPs haves steered clear of their duties, and allowed the party in power to chose a “leader”, that is NOT what the Constitution says, nor was it our founders’ intent.

If you ever watch C-span, and the Senate, you’ll hear Senators addressing whoever is up at the dais as “Mr President” [or Madam President] Obviously they aren’t talking to POTUS, they SHOULD be addressing the Vice President, but the Constitution allows for a President “pro tempor” to take the Veep’s place when he is unable to fulfill his duties.

The VP DOES have a vote, as any other Senator, in the case of a tie. He is the tie breaker.

            Though Biden does not, Vice President Dick Cheney kept an office in the Senate, and held weekly Senate meetings with Republicans. [though frankly, ALL Senators should have been in attendance}

Long story short, Palin was right, and as usual, liberal idiots like Alan Colmes were incredibly WRONG.

          • michael s

lets say youre correct. why did colmes make tantaros look weak on the facts?

          • $2346491

It is pretty wide CW that Ryan was ready for primetime during the last campaign. There were no concern trolling stories about how “inexperienced” and “young” Ryan was and why did Romney choose him. On the other hand, that was a huge part of the 2008 story about Palin and she did nothing to disprove it.

          • jester2939

No, there weren’t many stories about Ryan because it was unlikely that Romney would win. Polling data didn’t give much of a bounce with Ryan, so he wasn’t a threat.

          • $2346491

Romney had a much better chance of winning than McCain. The reason why there were fewer stories about Ryan is that he was plausible as a President. The guy has genius level intellect and he is incredibly poised despite being younger than Palin was.

          • blueniner

Compare Palin and Romneys Governor record, no comparison, Palin smokes Romney in just under three years, she got more done and checked all the boxes of her goals and left Alaska in real good shape, Romney,(Romneycare and taxes), not so much.

McCain-Palin drew millions more votes than Romney-Ryan … MILLIONS. Nice try though.

Oh, and Palin drew larger crowds than Obama did in 2008, and her acceptance speech and debate with Biden both set all time records for viewership of a VP candidate. In fact, her VP acceptance speech had 20 million more viewers than Obama’s POTUS acceptance speech!

Ryan couldn’t come anywhere close to the numbers Palin had.

Palin is still the hottest brand going, while Ryan has faded back into the woodwork, where he belongs.

          • $2346491

Because they were waiting for her to screw up… M’kay. Yes it was a lovely speech and she delivered it well. But she screwed up in interviews.

As for the hottest political brand around, that would be Future President Marco Rubio. Palin got fired from her job at Fox. If she was an awesome draw, she’d have kept her job.

And yes Ryan did a much, much better job than Palin as VP. This is because Ryan is posed, genius politician who could handle a campaign unlike Palin and who was campaigning on ideas rather than the fact the press were liberal and mean!!

          • $2346491

Oh I agree with that as well. Biden was only put on the ticket as part of a deal so that Hillary could run in 2016.

        • kim

LOL. Barry couldn’t care less what Hilary does in 2016. Biden was on the ticket to attract moderates, those on the left worried about voting for a black man, and those on the left worried about voting for someone with no experience at anything.

          • $2346491

That was why Hillary and Barry were on Sixty Minutes in the lovefest interview.

My cynical theory is that the Clintons have some dirt on Barry that they choose not to use during the 2008 campaign and they are using it to blackmail him. (I think that it had to do with his rumored extracurricular activities in Chicago.) I think that there was a deal between the Clintons and Obama in 2008. Obama would appoint Clinton Sec of State despite the fact that she wasn’t a logical choice for that post and would tap someone who wasn’t plausible for VP as a successor (hence Biden rather than Evan Bayh or another more attractive option). Clinton got four years in a fairly apolitical post to improve her image and doesn’t have to deal with a plausible VP running for President. Biden did absolutely nothing for the ticket and he is incredibly prone to gaffes. An Evan Bayh would have gotten Barry the same benefits.

Hrmm…wonder why such a irrelevant person would make you post/discuss them…constantly?Oh yeah…rent free in your vacuous head. But please tell us how dumb she is without citing 1 example of bad policies.

      • $2346491

I think that she makes the Republican Party look bad. I’d prefer CPAC to be about Rubio, Paul, Ryan, etc. rather than someone who indies hate.

You deflected J. Cox’s question. Answer with facts.

        • kim

          why?

          • $2346491

Because she doesn’t present a compelling face for conservatives and I’d prefer those that do to not be tainted by her.

          • J. Cox

So to sum up…you prefer style over substance..likeability over convictions…and rino’s gain another.

          • $2346491

How about we get both? Or are Rubio and Ryan now both awful, awful RINOs?

          • J. Cox

You want to know if they are RINO’s…wait till 2014 and see how many people sit that out.Ask Rubio if he understands that his and McCains plan is just shy of Obama’s.Ask Ryan if he is going to stop acting like little Boehner and grab his pair and stand up for the people that got him elected. As far as winning..I would rather vote on principle and virtue and lose than to sell half my house to the devil for a win.

          • $2346491

            1. Immigration reform is coming.. M’kay. There is no way that we’re going to round up and deport 15 million people. I’d prefer Rubio’s version to let’s make them instant citizens (aka the Obama version).

            2. Ryan does feel like he is standing up for the people that got him elected. He is playing a long game. For him to save Medicare, he has to vote for stuff that he might not like like the fiscal cliff deal.

          • TexSizzle

CPAC is irrelevant. They host the John Birch Society at their event. Yikes. And the great statesman Alan West who the REPUBLICAN party booted through redistricting. Haha. Buh bye alan said the establishment. Maybe it was that letter he wrote his wife telling her she had to take it up the a*s when he got home from iraq?

        • J. Cox

CPAC is irrelevant?Say’s a DNC troll?

    • jester2939

Of course Ryan couldn’t win his home state. And neither could Romney. Rubio made a fool of himself on national t.v.

      • $2346491

And Sarah Palin couldn’t name a newspaper she read nor could she win an election in Alaska in 2014.

Also, there is a huge discrepancy between how Mr. Sunshine treated the water bottle incident and Sarah Palin’s thin skinned whining during 2008. The Rubio water bottle thing was awkward but calling it a career ender as CNN did was over the top. However, rather than whine about it, Rubio tweeted funny pictures and sold water bottles. Having incredibly thick skin and being able to turn a bad situation to your advantage are important in politics. That is why Rubio will be living in the White House in four years and Palin will still be an ex Fox News personality.

        • kim

That’s where you are wrong. Seems you are a headline listener or you would have heard within days of that headline report, that they had taped over 15 hours of video, that Palin had answered the question before she got fed up with it being repeated again and again, and that it was edited out. Funny how a few other libs did the same thing . All of course, belonging to that Journolister club, that is ‘no longer’ collaberating to destroy careers they don’t like

ZOMG.. So like Palin!!! was persecuted!! Geez, there are people who white and there are people who deal with the fact that the press is liberal. Mr. Sunshine has gotten quite a bit of positive press out of water bottle gate.

        • mike_in_kosovo

Having incredibly thick skin and being able to turn a bad situation to your advantage are important in politics.

You mean like Palin turning the MSM’s ‘notes on hand’ meme back on itself?

          • $2346491

Umm… If she had been caught in a water bottle moment, we would have heard all about how the media was unfairly persecuting her (again and again.)

          • mike_in_kosovo

Maybe you should actually do some *research* on what you post about, because you’re coming across as someone who’s gotten all their info from media soundbites. The media had a field day talking about the notes on her palm, and Palin humorously turned it back on them several times (instead of whining, as you imply).

        • Jackptg

There has not been one aspect of Palin’s life and career that has not been chewed over, criticized and lied about by her enemies; she has withstood the slings, barbs, bullets, and arrows that would have fallen a lesser person.

Soon after Palin entered the national political scene as Arizona Sen. John McCain’s GOP running mate, she was attacked as a diva, a clothes hog, an irresponsible mother and a political mercenary. They dismissed what she achieved as mayor of her hometown, commissioner of the state’s oil and pipeline board and governor of America’s largest state.

Sarah Palin’s enemies decided that nothing was too personal to attack-including her marriage, her children, her faith, and her wardrobe.

The media distorted Palin’s positions and beliefs beyond recognition. And almost every word out of her mouth was spun as a “flub”.

The media hounded her, and her family, on a daily basis, flat out making crap up (like that she, personally, shot wolves from the air). They claimed her baby was not her own; used despicable language to attack her, and her family; sent numerous reporters to Wasilla to dig up dirt on her ; AP reporters “factchecked” her book; accused her of being an accomplice to murder, her email hacked by the son of a Democrat congressman, political operatives filing endless bogus ethic charges designed to bankrupt a working family with a special need toddler and much more.

Obsessive news hounds scrounged through pages and pages of Palin Emails, looking for damning information that could wipe the outspoken conservative from America’s political scene.

What they found was the inner workings of an efficient, informed and very involved governor that mounted an unprecedented 80 plus approval rating while in office. Those emails revealed a hard-working, committed public servant. Even the mainstream media has been forced to concede that Palin was a conscientious, transparent, and effective public servant……..not exactly what the death squads of WaPo, the NYT, and other mainstream outlets had in mind.

This shockingly laughable scenario is in sharp contrast to the manner in which the media handled Barack Obama, whom it woefully failed to properly investigate in 2007-08. Where were all of the reporters who should have been camped outside the door of domestic terrorist William Ayers, who launched Obama’s political career from his living room?

The media , Hollywood and the REP establishment have done everything they can to vilify Sarah Palin and her family but despite a massive effort to destroy her, she is still on her feet and making a difference in the political world.

        • mheathman

You any kin to Suzi Parker? She’s another moron who falls for BS stories about Palin!

BTW, Obama thought we had 59 or 60 states:

Obama thinks Europe is a country:

Oh, and lets not even get into Slow Joe Biden. The stupid there is beyond painful!

        • jester2939

What was there for him to “whine” about? It’s not like the media doctored the video or anything. It’s not like the media made up a story about him. It’s not like the media interviewed him for 6 hours and only played 15 minutes of it after editing. It’s not like the RNC bought him and his family clothes and left the impression that he bought them instead. It’s not like the media ran stories that one of his kids wasn’t really his kid. It’s not like the media spread lies about his banning books that weren’t written yet, and on and on and on.

Boy, that Palin sure is a “whiner!” How dare she call out the media for their lies? But when she does something silly, like write on her hand once, she makes fun of herself. Remember, she wrote “Hi, mom!” on her hand at an event a few days later. The media was all excited to catch her with more notes on her hand, but all they got was a shout out to Sarah’s mom, lol!

When something’s your fault, you should be able to make fun of yourself. Sarah understands that art, and it’s good to know that Rubio does too. But when the media lies, they need to be called out. And that’s NOT whining.

      • kim

a fool of himself? Nobody else ever needs a drink? And Obama and his gift giving skills, making toasts at the wrong time, bowing to dictators, etc. doesn’t make a fool of himself?

        • jester2939

Yes, Kim, he made a fool of himself.
I know conservatives said he gave a great speech, but body language IS important. I teach speech and an interview class at a business college. If the listener is distracted by nervous and distracting body language, the message is lost. We spend a lot of time in front of a camera to create a nervous atmosphere and let the students see how they behave when they are nervous. Many are shocked at the results. Didn’t the RNC do this simple practice with Rubio? It’s not easy to talk to only a camera and know that millions are watching.
Conservatives agree with Rubio’s message, but he’s preaching to the choir with us. We need to reach the people who aren’t decided or who are maybe thinking they want to hear an alternative to Obama and his screwy policies. Of course Obama makes a fool of himself all the time!!!! The media constantly covers for him. But he didn’t constantly wipe sweat from his face and lunge for a bottle of water and drink it during a 15-minute nationally televised speech. (Why do you need water in a 15-minute address anyway?)
How many people (not conservatives who follow politics daily) do you think came away from Rubio’s speech thinking, “Boy, he made some great points”? Or how many people came away with the thought, “What was wrong with him?” I guarantee you, most people thought the latter.

And neither could the former half-term governor. Hillary beats her in Alaska according to PPP poll released on 02/08/13 by a margin of 53-37. Only 16% of Alaskans think she should ever run for any office. Same poll gave congress 8% approval but Alaskans favored congress 50-34 over the former half-term governor. That’s why she is living in Airheadzona.

        • Todd Hill

The article’s talking about Sarah Palin. What does Vince Foster’s murderer have to do with this?

        • Jackptg

Sarah Palin served 32 out of 48 months; the same percentage that Obama served of his Senate term (not including the two-year break he spent campaigning) and accomplished everything she set out to do in that time.

Sarah Palin resigned because she recognized the cost that the frivolous ethics complaints were having on her state , and she saw how much of her staff’s time and her own time were forced to deal with those issues.

That entire campaign of BS lawsuits was meant to do nothing but hamstring the governor’s office and bankrupt Sarah Palin.

She saw that if she stayed on as Governor it would continue to cost the state millions of dollars in wasted time and resources to defend against false and maliciously ethics complaints and doom it to gridlock.

She & her staff were spending 80% of their time defending lawsuits & dealing with FOIA requests… that take an enormous amount of time to process… instead of doing the job she was elected to do.

Those frivolous lawsuits had already cost the state of AK close to $2 million; Sarah Palin had over $500,000 dollars in legal fees.

Sarah Palin knew that for the sake of her state, her country, her family, and her political voice, it would be best if she stepped aside from the governorship. She resigned so the state could move forward.

In an article Sarah Palin said:

“I said, ‘Enough. Political adversaries and their political friends in the media will not destroy my State, my administration, nor my family. Enough.’ I knew if I didn’t play their game any longer, they could not win. I would not retreat, I would instead reload, and I would fight for what is right from a different plane.”

She promised to keep the frivolous anti-Palin law suits away from the Alaskan people and to be more effective on the stump ( supporting candidates , fundraising, etc)

Sarah Palin was truthful on both accounts!

For the last four years Sarah Palin has worked tirelessly to fight Obama’s policies and elect conservatives; she was #1 in the fight!
She basically spearheaded the 2010 victory with her endorsements and rallies all over the country!

Sarah Palin had endorsed 73 candidates for the US House of Representatives and Senate; state governors and attorney generals. Her success rate was at 69%.
18 out of 20 targets in her Take Back the 20 campaign ; this is a 90% success rate!

Sarah Palin also had a very strong hand in the party’s few successes during this election . Sarah Palin campaigned for constitutional conservatives llike Ted Cruz, Deb Fischer, Jeff Flake, Paul Gosar, resulting in 5 conservatives being elected to the Senate and 32 conservatives to the House.

Sarah Palin has also penned commentary on such topics as the unrest in Libya, the protests in Wisconsin, Obama’s 2012 budget proposal and State of the Union address, getting tough with Iran and standing with Iranians who seek democracy, challenging the specifics of President Obama’s energy policy, the omnibus spending bill, defeating the New START, opposition to state bailouts, tax policy, a message to Republican freshmen in Congress, opposition to quantitative easing, and more.

She has repeatedly been a leading voice—via television appearances and speaking engagements—against the dangers of ObamaCare and the risks of President Obama’s approach to energy.

Sarah Palin worked tirelessly to forward the commonsense conservative agenda she had always articulated and campaigned with and for those she believed best represented the values she believes are needed in government.

Liberal Republicans lose (only 1 in 25 years has had over 50% of the vote) or has a failed Presidency politically, as I would consider Bush II. I think we would be better off if we didn’t have folks like Rove trying to run the party. I agreed with you until last election, 2012. We saw the Tea Party win big in 2010 and then the Establishment GOP shunted all that energy to the side and LOST. I did my duty, pulled the lever, but really, 25 years of failure is enough. I want a conservative.

Answer: Because she stated that Obama ‘palled around’ with terrorists.

  • Mario Leone

Am I the only Republican that really doesn’t like her? I mean she has been more destructive to Senate candidates than beneficial, forget Karl Rove. Endorsing that hack O’Donnell, propping up Sarah Steelman when Brunner was going to beat Akin, and endorsing neocon Kelly Ayotte over Ovide Lamontagne. Seriously, she should just go back to Alaska and stop talking.

    • HerneTheHunter

That’s the best you can come up with? What about Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Debra Fischer?

You are a classic example of what’s precisely wrong with Republicans. Wanting to win for party sake, rather than principles.

O’Donnell was a last minute endorsement, she endorsed her only 24hrs before the vote, to stop Mike Castle (MIKE FREAKING CASTLE) from winning. She was absolutely right in endorsing Kelly Ayote. Lamontagne was never seriously in the running during the general election. As for Sarah Steelman, I think history has proved her right, just like she’s always been. Brunner that establishment hack, what a joke you are.

I think, it is you, Mario who needs to SHUT THE HELL UP!

After the 2008 election Sarah Palin helped lead Republicans to the greatest congressional victory in several generations during the 2010 election;she has endorsed 73 candidates for the US House of Representatives and Senate; state governors and attorney generals. Her success rate is at 69%.

In 2010, Sarah Palin backed South Carolina’s Tim Scott. He won in 2010 and he won the re-election. She backed other African Americans like Allen West and Mia Love. Both of those candidates narrowly lost their races by 2,000 votes in the case of Love and 1,000 votes in the case of West.

And she continues her work to help put government back on the side of the people.

Apparently some on the Left still have comprehension problems. Why do they expect Conservatives to rebrand themselves to make the GOP more attractive to liberals? Palin is conservative – CPAC is a gathering of conservatives – seems a good fit to me.
Unlike libs conservatives don’t all march in lockstep. All Conservatives aren’t Rubio supporters, Ryan supporters, Paul supporters, nor Palin supporters. At this point there should be room for all at the table.

Palin has always just been the Republican Obama. An unqualified celebrity with a silly fanbase. The difference being that the media hate Palin with the same passion they love Obama. So, Obama is POTUS and Palin is unemployed. Meanwhile, some think they really have something with Palin because of the reaction she gets from the left. The left loves to hate on Palin because they can make it work for liberals. So many of you just don’t get it.

    • Love of Country

The Left love Barry because they only know the Barry who has been presented to them by the state run media, plus he’s half bIack. They don’t love his integrity, his accomplishments, his character or his patriotism because he has no such qualities. Without the state run media behind the curtains ….. just like Oz ….. the Great Dinglebarry is one big nobody …. a community organizer who hates white America and all of their earned success. Barack Owebamao is a clueless academic who hates capitalism and has absolutely no desire to preserve middle America. He is obsessed with waging a race, class and gender war to achieve and sustain power …. he needs racism and a racist base like he needs oxygen.

Sarah Palin, on the other hand, IS the American dream who bleeds the American spirit. She had 85% approval ratings as Gov of Alaska before all the anti-American, fascist piecesofshit set out to destroy her career and reputation for daring to appeal to and inspire a large swath of the American, tax-paying public. The Left hates her patriotism, they hate her for being beautiful, and they hate her because she’s a woman.

      Patriots love Sarah Palin

….. Misinformed Communists love Barack Owebamao.

Sarah Palin has many years (successful) executive management experience at local, regional and state levels including command of the Alaska National Guard and has a history of being a reformer and taking on powerful interests for the benefit of ordinary people.

She has always been a tough-as-nails executive who understood her role as a servant for the people during her time as Mayor of Wasilla and as Governor; she took on the Republican establishment, big oil, corruption, ethics reform, and tax reform.

In Alaska, Sarah Palin’s top priorities included fiscal restraint, limiting the size of government, resource development, education, equitable oil valuation as well as transportation and infrastructure development. Sarah Palin fought for ethics reform and transparency in government.

She has cut spending, forward-funded education, and paved the way for job growth in her hometown.
Sarah Palin has fought to reduce spending and to enforce fiscal discipline as governor of Alaska. She has drastically reduced the growth of the state budget, which has helped to produce a record budget surplus.

She cut spending and vetoed hundreds of millions of dollars in spending, not because times were tough, but because she wanted to keep government small and solvent.
She reformed Alaska’s pension system and used surplus dollars to help pay down underfunded pensions, which reduced Alaska’s liabilities by 34.6 % to help provide analysts at Moody’s with enough confidence to later upgrade Alaska’s credit rating to AAA.
She also reduced earmark requests for the state of Alaska by 80% during her administration.

Sarah Palin succeeded to a remarkable extent in settling what had seemed insoluble problems, in the process putting Alaska on a trajectory to financial well-being.

      This is strong financial management.

Under her leadership, Alaska has invested $5 billion in state savings, reformed education funding, and implemented the Senior Benefits Program, which provides support for low-income Alaskan seniors. She’s also established Alaska’s Petroleum Systems Integrity Office to provide oversight and maintenance of oil and gas equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.

During Sarah Palin’s first year in office, three of her administrations major proposed pieces of legislation passed—an overhaul of the state’s ethics laws, a competitive process to construct a natural gas pipeline and a restructuring of Alaska’s oil valuation formula.

Sarah Palin’s “business experience” comes with the negotiations and dealings she has had with one of the most powerful industries in the world: the energy industry. Sarah Palin has successfully negotiated new tax structures, lease deals and other issues that arise in the Alaska energy industry.
At the end of the day, Sarah Palin negotiated billion dollar deals with one of the toughest industries in the world.

Taking on corruption and crony capitalism has always been a cornerstone of Sarah Palin’s agenda; in Alaska she did take on the old-boy network — the oil companies and her own party .
As oil and gas commissioner, Sarah Palin called out the unethical practices of members of her own party.
As Governor, she sought to end the back room deals and improper relationships between oil companies and politicians.

Sarah Palin is past chair of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, a multistate government agency that promotes the conservation and efficient recovery of domestic oil and natural gas resources while protecting health, safety and the environment.

She also served as chair of the National Governors Association (NGA) Natural Resources Committee, which was charged with pursuing legislation to ensure state needs are considered as federal policy is formulated in the areas of agriculture, energy, environmental protection and natural resource management.

After poring over thousands of emails (24,000+ pages of emails) from Palin’s term as governor, even the mainstream media has been forced to concede that Palin was a conscientious, transparent, and effective public servant.

For the past four years Sarah Palin has worked tirelessly to fight Obama’s policies and elect conservatives; she basically spearheaded the 2010 victory with her endorsements and rallies all over the country.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_WWFTUCBOPWNF5NAZKRWWH22BDA Blackwater

Hey silly person, Sarah Palin accomplished more as Governor than most politicians, including two term presidents, do in a career. And that doesn’t count the fact that as Mayor she transformed Wasilla from a back water nothing into the fastest growing city in Alaska, and the trading hub for the entire Mat-Su Valley, an area the size of the state of Delaware.

This does not include the fact she was Alaska’s very powerful oil and natural gas regulator [Chairman of the AOGCC] nor does it include the fact that Palin was the Chairman of the nation’s Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, and is a recognized authority on energy related issues.

The media , Hollywood and the REP establishment have done everything they can to vilify Sarah Palin and her family but despite a massive effort to destroy her, she is still on her feet and making a difference in the political world.

By the way, if Obama received half of the bad press that Sarah Palin does, his favorables would be in the low 30’s

    • gavinwca

Her worse enemies were McCaines handlers, they did every thing they could to destroy her. They succeeded in setting her back politacilly for a long time. She will recover and eventually become a larger player in American politics than McCain and the other RINOS could ever admagine

You poor delusional democrat. Obama and his hand picked thugs in Alaska spent a year and a half AFTER the election trying to derail Palin, and FAILED, miserably. Obama and the left fear Palin like no other. So do many corrupt as hell Republicans.

Only a complete idiot would buy into the notion Palin represents failure. BTW, ALL polling shows that Palin helped the ticket by a 6 point margin. The ONLY time McCain lead Obama was after he picked Palin. McCain held the lead until his two idiot campaign people, Steve Schmidt and Nicole Wallace convinced him to “suspend” his campaign.

Had McCain listened to Palin instead of the total morons running his campaign, he’d be into HIS second term as President, and we wouldn’t have that communist devil we have now in the White House.

Here’s a hint for ya sparky, if Palin runs in 2016, she’s the next President of these United States. Period, end of story!

CPAC…..what’s the big deal? CPAC shoud invite conservative voices – fiscal, social, spending, defense, those are the issues. Shocking as it may be, there are voices of different views w/i the GOP and w/i CPAC too. Invite Palin, invite Romney, invite Rubio, invite Sandoval & Martinez, invite Thomas Sowell, invite Larry Elder, invite Laura Ingraham, invite Paul Ryan….. please do.

Why does the left care? Why do they let Palin bug them? She’s not doing anything to them, or running for office, she just exists…and that’s enough I guess. So, that’s a good thing just right there.

At least, she’s willing to say something…..and not go to a focus group to get the talking point to make sure what she says meets their standards and Karl Rove’s chalkboard points.

Be polite to Romney…say what you will, he won the nomination, he ran for years, he raised money, he had a few highlights in the campaign, & in the end, could not defeat a popular, media adored, well spoken incumbent, and he ran it way too soft in the latter part of the campaign…..fact. Mitt, you won debate 1, & you thought it was over & done….& the rest of us knew – Chicago Land would double down & rip you up w/ facts, truth, and a lot of lies……and they did.

Mitt Romney needs to stay where ever he is and never be heard from [politically] again. That entire wing of the Republican Party, Rove, Rubio, Eric Cantor, John Boehner, Jeb Bush, Chris “Hamas Loving Slob” Christie, and the like have destroyed the party and helped destroy the nation.

Frankly, the GOP in it’s present form needs to go the way of the Whigs.

We need a new CONSERVATIVE party, free of idiots and corruption.
