That’s right. The House voted on a bill to suspend the debt limit again today.

Sigh. The bill passed overwhelmingly.

Americans see it for what it is ,and sum it up in a pithy nutshell. Maybe those trapped in the Beltway Bubble can understand this: You can’t keep kicking the can down the road.

Ha! Being responsible and living within one’s means is for suckers, according to those in Washington, D.C.

What happens when there is no can left to kick? Answer that one, alleged leaders.

Can I kick the can down the road on this year’s tax bill?

    Didn’t think so.

    • $36544368

Sure you can…if you don’t mind penalties, interest, and possible jail time. Too bad the same fate can’t be said for some in our government.

  • Lord Foggybottom

I say we line up all of Congress, bend ’em over a fence along the road and kick them in the cans!

    • Ronald

      Lord Floggybottom strikes again.

“congress passes the buck again…because the gop will not negotiate…”

What did Obamao say regarding negotiating regarding the debt ceiling again?

“will make no deal on the country’s fiscal future unless congressional leaders first accept tax-rate increases on top earners.”
    –Barack Obama

Congress did that, so who is it that “will not negotiate”?

  • Arthur E Jackson

How about we kick them down the road…..stop paying our taxes

  • dunst43

How about No Budget/No Taxes? If the brain trust in Congress doesn’t pass a budget then no taxes are collected anywhere from anyone. They are not held in some escrow account to be paid later, but are kept by the people who earned that money.

Seems fair. We don’t give them money unless they tell us where it’s going to be spent.

  • rogueco

I nearly busted a gut when I saw the justification for kicking the can was the ” no budget, no pay” for congressmen.

The extension will rack up about $250 Billion in new debt… canceling congressional paychecks for an entire year only saves us $0.1 Billion. What a frickin’ deal. We’ll be square in 2,500 years.

  • Txgirlinnh

It’s sickening that this is the legacy we are leaving our kids, especially since they will be the ones paying for this financial calamity.

  • Moue La Moue (D)

I so wish the can would stand up and tell those idiots to stop abusing it! >.<

  • Paladin

…and the Republicans roll over to get their belly rubbed.

  • BristolGOP Backup

It is a sure sign of our impending national insolvency that the can kicks are going for shorter and shorter periods of time now. Like a space ship approaching the speed of light, our kakistocrats will have to expend literally infinite political will to kick it any farther. the can-kicking will soon go asymptotic.
