Last year, President Obama’s statement on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade disgustingly told Americans that their daughters’ opportunities and dreams were predicated on a legal ability to kill their own children.

“… And as we remember this historic anniversary, we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”

He also said it was a private matter that shouldn’t have government intrusion. No, seriously.

He repeated that today when he released a statement on the 40th anniversary of the horror known as Roe v. Wade.

Only choices with which he agrees, natch.

You can’t protect yourself with a gun or anything like that, silly women.

The full statement, as released by The White House:

Statement by the President on Roe v. Wade Anniversary

On the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we reaffirm its historic commitment to protect the health and reproductive freedom of women across this country and stand by its guiding principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters, and women should be able to make their own choices about their bodies and their health care. Today and every day, my Administration continues our efforts to reduce unintended pregnancies, support maternal and child health, and minimize the need for abortion. On this anniversary, we recommit ourselves to supporting women and families in the choices they make and redouble our efforts to promote safe and healthy communities.

Not surprising, coming from arguably the most pro-abortion president in recent history.

Yes, why doesn’t he flank himself with children who have written letters asking for his protection against abortion? That’s right, he can’t. Those innocents killed in the womb can’t write letters. Because they are dead.

But maybe, just maybe, he can listen to other lives affected by abortion. The babies have been snuffed out and have no voice. But others can speak for them, and can speak out about the pain and lifelong regret.

Amen. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with all affected by abortion. What say you, President Obama? Will you listen? Will you read the letters from women and men devastated by this horror? You can’t hear the children. But you can listen to those still alive.

Roe’s “guiding principle” is three-fold: women and men need not face up to the consequences of their actions; the family is not that important; and anything you do in private is always okay.

    • TundraThunder

The left’s hypocrasy never ceases to amaze me. They’ll kill unborn babies without a wince, but they say if new gun laws can save one life, it’s well worth it.

  • grais

“…its guiding principle.” = Kill your ‘punishment’.

  • BeyondPolls

We can write letters for them.

    • rivers

My children want to write letters to him, let’s see how much weight he will give their heartfelt opinions.

      • BeyondPolls

        Go for it!

No he does not! The progressives made it LEGAL, so many women fell into the trap. God will FORGIVE. We are all sinners. It’s not your place to judge anyone. If a woman makes a mistake like having an abortion and is truly sorry, she is forgiven! Lawmakers who push this agenda, sadly, are the true murderers. Pray they see the light soon. They, too can be forgiven.

      • $36544368

You missed the point…yes, you can be forgiven, but it’s still murder.

    • TexSizzle

God forgives those who truly repent and ask for forgiveness just as for any other sin. That does not mean that there will be no consequences, just that the consequences need not be eternal.

So let me ask this question, and I’m asking seriously and not as flamebait: so, if a woman realizes her mistake and regrets having an abortion, does she deserve forgiveness?

      • TexSizzle

That is between her and her Maker. If she repents and asks God for forgiveness He is faithful and just to forgive her.

        • Canadian in USA

I absolutely agree…that’s what makes God so good, is that He’s willing to forgive. That’s why I posted the question to the original poster. Interestingly enough, I haven’t heard from her yet.

        • lainer51

it is between her and ME because I am paying for it – Get Real

      • Romeo Guerrero

Yes. God forgives. Plenty of examples can be found in the Bible about murder (and all other sins) and God’s forgives. We as humans fail to completely understand God’s love and His forgiveness and thus withhold forgiveness. One should easily admit how we eagerly seek forgiveness and accept it. But fail miserably to forgive. So, yes, God forgives us and asks we obey His commands and sin no more. So, yes, she should be forgiven and sin no more.

Absolutely. That’s part of what being a Christian is all about…grace, grace, grace! And every day, I thank God for that grace…because, although I’ve not had an abortion ever in my life, there are plenty of other things that I’ve needed forgiveness for…there is such freedom in that!

      • Jen

God does not put sin into categories; only we humans do that. He surely forgives and can turn ALL things into good for His glory.

    • Jen

      Such a compassionate statement…ugh

      • lainer51

        as is yours.

  • texaswc

O’man is a hypocrite and an accomplice to murder….supporting the killing of innocent unborn children, a complete being, having all DNA, having everything already set in stone; eye color, hair color, every bit of that new life’s design, developing and growing, depending on that mother for nothing more than nutrients and oxygen, and love…and yet, he wants to cry over the 20 children gunned down, an unfortunate and sad time for those families, and hide behind children that wrote letters so that he can intrude into our private lives to regulate our guns…hypocrite in every sense of the word, a man that will use the senseless deaths of 20 to promote his agendas and then promotes the deaths of hundreds of thousands more that have yet to breathe their first breath just to satisfy his followers and minions….yes, a man of many, many principles…and every single one of those principles are disgusting and I abhor them all…

I wonder if BO knows that a baby’s heart is formed and beating, circulating the baby’s own blood approximately 19 days after conception.

  • Phil McMorrow

Didn’t you know? They weren’t defined as children by the courts. Ergo, they don’t exis as children and have no more significance than a wart. Glad I don’t have to answer for this when my time comes to accompany the grim reaper.

  • M_Miles
  • ZoriahShepard

Does BO purposely write hypocrisy and contradictions into his speeches? Or does it really just flow that naturally from him?

    • Rulz

Between the biased media coverage and race card being played, lying has never been so easy for a leader in a nominally free country.

  • BeeKaaay

Roe V Wade’s guiding principles are:

    * It is OK to do horrific violence against children (and our country’s sickos NOTICE this message loud and clear!)
    * It is OK to dehumanize one group of people, and make sure they have no human rights whatsoever.

These are the principles of leftwingwackoism, just utter bloodthirst.

  • RblDiver

A question which will not be asked of Obama: “Do you support having a double murder charge against someone who kills a pregnant woman?”

  • Romeo Guerrero

When Obama was surrounded by the children and he presented his gun control executive order, I wondered if anyone gave thought to the voiceless aborted children. I am relieved to know not everyone was duped by Obama’s concern for the children of America. If we are to protect the children of America, let’s protect all children of American, born and unborn.

  • Cindi Taylor

Obama has principles? He believes in the guide that is attached to Roe vs. Wade? Well, Roe vs. Wade was founded on a lie, so I guess I can understand why he thinks it so great.

  • gladys whipple hurtis

Of course Obama supports Roe vs Wade. Liars identify with liars. The case was built on lies. She was not raped. She did not have an abortion. She has changed her stance and has been forgiven. She deeply regrets the millions of unborn children who have been aborted over 40 years in the U.S. We can only pray that God changes the hearts of people who support abortions as they did the lady called “Jane Roe”.

  • daphnetaggart

Ironic he mentions Roe’s guiding principles, considering Norma McCorvey “Roe” herself has been pro life for years.

  • Marty Luther

I completely understand Obama on this one. Everything is relative. Dead babies don’t vote. Dead Democrats do.

  • Jen

I challenge @barackobama to surround himself with women and men who deeply regret abortion; listen to our side of the issue. The hypocrisy is glaring. “Save just one life…”
