Rep. Tim Scott tweeted out his resignation from the House today, as he gets ready to replace Senator Jim DeMint. DeMint announced his resignation from the Senate last month.

Congratulations pour in.

And, of course, the first reprehensible tweet comes in immediately.

More to come? Based on what happened after the announcement that he was to become Senator Scott, we expect so, sadly.

Predictable, yet still utterly contemptible.

So excited to have Tim Scott represent my state in the US Senate!!! God speed Mr. Scott!

Haha, progs. Our senators are more diverse than yours! And he got here on merit, not cause of his skin color(looking at you Sheila Jackson Lee) And his district isn’t in the toilet.

Note that Tim Scott got his start as an aide to the fierce segregationist Strom Thurmond.

I guess the content of his character is lost on the militant libturd left.

Congratulations Sen Tim Scott. Be the best senator you can.

Love that Republicans are on here adamantly defending a black man. That shows that they have come a long way in the past 20 years.

Don’t appreciate the “back-handed compliment.” You’re the one seeing race. We see a rising star that represents us well.

Tim Scott represents conservative priciples to a “T”. He’ll be a great asset to SC in DeeCee. Judging by all the vitrol coming from the left, he must be doing something right.

We had a wonderfully talented woman run for congress this last election. She happened to be black and a female. The “LOVE” she received from others with similar skin color was mind boggling! ‘House _igger’, ‘Uncle Tom’ etc… all the time. I know which party looks at the content of one’s character and not the color of one’s skin — hint–its not the one with a D at the front of their name. It was revolting to see what she had to endure from the libs.
