Wow. As Twitchy reported, sirens are going off in Tel Aviv as rockets are launched in the area. The BBC tweeted that Tel Aviv is the capital of Israel.

Twitter users were quick to correct and call out the BBC.

The BBC has a history of refusing to recognize Jerusalem.

“Every country [and noncountry] participating in the London 2012 games has been given a page on your website with background information about the country, including mention of the capital city. Every country [and non-country], except Israel,” wrote Netanyahu’s spokesman Mark Regev. “Jerusalem is the capital of the State of Israel, and accordingly we respectfully request the immediate rectification of this matter.”

Israel’s Olympic athletes have also slammed the BBC for hedging on the issue of Israel’s true capital city. The team produced a video last week in which they made it clear that Israel’s capital was the city of Jerusalem.

Update: They also won’t use the word terrorist, apparently. Note the use of “militants.”

BBC can’t/won’t get the capital of Israel correct.
Not surprising considering they spent so much time covering up for their dead pedophile.
Reminds me alot of our msm people covering up for our brain dead president

  • Cold War Grunt

Wow, that’s impressive. NHS, check, universally useless healthcare. BBC, Graham Norton, check. East Enders check, geography … geography — anybody … geography?

UK is still collectively butt-hurt about being booted out of Israel back in the 50s. I believe that was by Rahm’s papa, IIRC.

      • SpinMeNot

I had somehow missed this … His father was Benjamin Emanuel, had a knack with things that go boom and a grudge against British Soldiers and police. Hrmm, I see where Rahm gets his keen sense of ethics and moral compass. The nut doesn’t fall far from the tree. Can’t condone the actions of either Emanuel, or the Hamas types. Good standup fight, ok, this kind of crap, never.

Excellent point, I love learning new stuff … always a good way to end a long day. Thanks for this.

if Israel were to lose Jerusalem, Tel Aviv
would probably still not be the Capital. It’d be like calling NYC the
    capital of the United States

    lmao. idiots.

BBC trying to rewrite thousands of years of history all by themselves. Energetic expenditure of energy and resources in the pursuit of uselessness. Next report will be details of how the British really won that war in the New World.

“It will be here soon enough.

Just wait…” he said in a grim but sad voice.

  • scalzo

London has already been taken over by the muslims.

  • SansMercy

I thought the BBC had bigger stones than that. Hard to consider them an ally. Dumbasses.

  • nauthizjane

You’d think Britain would have learned, via Neville Chamberlain, that appeasements do not work against evil. You can’t negotiate with madmen.

  • LibLieExposer

Did the BBC tweet that from England’s capital, Liverpool? If not for Doctor Who, the BBC would be as worthless as Al Gore’s Current TV.

  • TocksNedlog

Stop bothering them! They’re busy telling you what to think.

  • Nunaya Dambizness

Oh man, you don’t know the half of it! As an American living in Europe (Germany), I can at least be thankful that I don’t have MSLSD inflicted on me, but the British news networks, both Sky and BBC, that I get here are notoriously left-wing. It was bad enough that they were falling all over themselves to praise Obummer during the campaign, but they’re practically frothing at the mouth over the fate of thos “poor, innocent Palestinians” blah blah, boo hoo, cry me a river. You expect anti-Israel propaganda from Al Jazeera, or RT (Russian news channel), or most notoriously, Press TV (Iran state-run propaganda, er, “news” channel) but I really was shocked at the British media. I guess the muzzies are pretty much in control there now…
