Last night, the White House sent out a photo of President Obama in the Situation Room for Hurricane Sandy. We know; it’s shocking that he found the Situation Room.

Yes, see? They have pictures and everything.

You guys, he’s super serious! And stuff. Yet, still all Man of the People-y, what with his casually crossed leg and all.

Twitter users have a few questions. Well, actually just one main question.

Yeah, that’s strange, huh?

This Twitter user is unintentionally hilarious.

Famous, but not in the good way. Maybe she misspelled infamous.

And the White House breathlessly pushes out another Sandy briefing in the Situation Room today.

Citizens continue to wonder about the Benghazi Situation Room.

Well, we all know where Obama was after Benghazi: Vegas, baby! And, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. No pics will be forthcoming.

  • Douglas Johnson

The funny thing is, there’s not much the President is allowed to do in the event of a hurricane beyond responding to a governor’s request for FEMA aid. But in Benghazi, of course, he had everything within his power.

    • Sandra Jo Gulden

And elected to allow our fellow Americans to die, which is treasonous at best!!!~

          • ObamaPelosi

I was also in the situation room yesterday, on the couch, in the living room, with a bunch of other people, watching exactly what Obama was watching on the news and feeling all serious. I guess that makes me qualified to be president and stuff.

        • EastValleyConservative

I called. Thanks for the number!!

That’s too bad, but then again GOOD…as many many people are calling as Not4TheGimmeParty did get thru!

      • AUBraves

Look at the pictures really close. Why are people changing seats? Do they get tired of sitting near Obama or what? The lady is the only one sitting in the same place in the two pictures. i think they are staged.

        • ObamaPelosi

Of course it’s staged. The fact that they actually sent out these pics means it’s staged. They did the same thing when they released the situation room pics during the Bin Laden raid. But, oh yeah, what about the situation room pics during the Benghazi attacks? *crickets*

        • Ken H.

I’m sure the casting call went out, too – “get the good suit and tie for the Sandy photo op – after all, the election is just a week away!”

    • bicentennialguy

It’s smoke and mirrors. His not-no-smart supporters will think he’s right out there personally rescuing people and repairing down power lines, all while making the flood waters recede.

      • Judy B

He may very well be the reason there were flood waters in the first place, God is NOT mocked.

    • AUBraves

This is a great opportunity for Obama to show his concern for the people in need. He could contribute $5,000,000 to the Red Cross. All he has to do is provide college records and Passport records to Donald Trump and name the Red Cross as the charity.

      • Brent Guthrie

        Perfect opportunity for him!

        • Ken H.

I’m sure that he’ll take it! (Well, maybe not…)

Hey, don’t be hatin’! He just found that room this past weekend.

    • TundraThunder

I’ll bet he’s there a lot recently with Axelrod, Cutter, and other minions trying to come up with more lies about Romney/Ryan and the polls.

  • me

Notice how he’s dressed up in a suit and sitting at the head of the table? Remember the photo of the same room for the Bin Laden raid? Him, off to the side, almost insignificant in khakis and a windbreaker, fresh off the golf course? Clearly they dressed for the photo op this time around.

    • ObamaPelosi

But why the heck does he need to be in a suit in the middle of the night? I think they tried too hard in setting up these pics. Major fail. And how long after these pics were taken did he say, “See ya later, suckers,” and high tail it outta there? Minutes perhaps.

  • TocksNedlog

The Weather Channel he can make time for; live feed from a Middle East consulate under attack, not so much.

  • $30423294

Don’t get too comfortable in that chair, Mr. President. A much more courageous man will be sitting there in just a few short months.

You are a coward, Mr. Obama.

  • Cheryl Webb Clair

Can somebody please explain all the cross hatches to me? I’m old, so I’m probably behind on the latest texting uses, but really, what’s it all about?

    • Nerdy Woman

On Twitter, these are called ‘hashtags.’ They’re keywords preceded by # that allow users to see all tweets concerning a particular topic. So if you see #Benghazi, you can click on that word and see all the related tweets… if they contain the hashtag. 😉

      • Cheryl Webb Clair

        Thank you. That makes sense.

  • Charlotte Powell

My favorite quote”we’re breaking the rules on this so we can get things rolling”or something to that effect. He likes breaking rules! I’m not surprised. And this photo op might backfire on him!

  • TundraThunder

I understand he’s going to Green Bay today. Photo op finished, and now it’s time to raise more money, and blame Bush, Romney, and anyone else he can think of for the storm.

  • leadfolloworgetout

When they called him the ‘Amateur’ they wer’nt kidding. This guy is out and out bad JUJU.

  • kbielefe

What I wonder when I see that picture is what those dozen people could be doing if they weren’t spending time keeping the President up to date.

  • GoSellCrazySomeplaceElse

#Obama’sWhiteHouse Four years as President and all I got were some effin’ pictures.

  • GaylePutt

Such a phoney….. don’t his PR people know they are just setting him up for ridicule with photo ops like this? I don’t mind, we all need a good laugh, but puhleeeeeeeeeeeeze, my sides are aching!!!

  • Nerdy Woman

Wow. 1,378 days into his presidency and his handlers have finally decided he should look presidential. We can count on one hand the number of times he has addressed the nation from the oval office. He definitely prefers to have an audience in the East Room or the Rose Garden. I’ve often wondered who has to stand up so he can sit down at ‘his’ desk or in the Sit Room.

Funniest thing about this pic… isn’t the Situation Room for situations involving National Security? Like classified information? What about this disaster is classified? Or requiring confidential discussions?

    • Donald Sensing

It’s the communications hub of the White House, so would be a natural place for crisis teams to assemble no matter the nature of the matter being handled. I hope Obama gets his pants handed to him in a week, but to be fair, using the SitRoom for this purpose is no big deal. What is a big deal (to me, anyway) is the contrived nature of the whole thing and the frankly overt campaign-related staging.

    • ObamaPelosi

Hope he doesn’t think that all it takes it to pretend to be all presidential one week before the election to win a second term. Hoping more that people don’t fall for this obvious bs!!!!

  • richray

Looks like he’s in charge at the head of the table.. Could he not get that info sent to his phone like Daily Intel. Info.. How come when they got Osama 0bama was in the corner in a little chair?

    • Ken H.

cause he got there after the attack was authorized… just a few minutes late?

  • d1comment

If you look closely, you can see Valerie Jarrett’s mouth move when Dear Leader speaks…

  • The Daffodil Times

How about instead of blowing smoke about Benghazi, you idiots do something constructive like donate to the red cross?

    • Rusty Ware

How do you know we can’t do both? Unlike the President, we multitask.

    • J. Cox

Unlike you leftards,we care about both. What have you done? And I thought it was BIG GUBMENT that made things happen…not private orgs. like the Red Cross?

    • Right Wired

Half of my paycheck was already forcibly taken, but thanks.

      • bicentennialguy

Thank you. Most of us donate every payday AND on April 15.

    • cfcscott1905

I’ll forward your thoughts on to the families of the four dead Americans. I’m sure they’ll appreciate your desire to not mention Benghazi anymore because it might make Obama look like a lying coward.

    • Jim Denney

We “contribute” every April 15th Daffy, it’s what pays for your “Obamafone.”

      • The Daffodil Times

I contribute every day by volunteering and being certified in First Aid. I contribute monetarily every month. You contribute nothing. And what on earth is an “Obamafone”?

        • Jim Denney

Since you’re certified in first aid why don’t you perform an obviously much needed rectal inversion on yourself … STAT!
Search YouTube for Obamafone, your typical Obama supporter incoherently presents her case for the Preezy. It would be hilarious if it weren’t so sad.

          • Linda Newell

            Hilarious…thanks, Jim :-)

        • Pete Futz

So why aren’t you on the east coast helping out instead of on your ass bitching at people on twitchy?

        • nc

You have no idea what any of us contribute.

    • Mapache

Blowing smoke about Benghazi was a poor choice of image as the enduring image is our consulate in flames and our ambassador dragged out through a window. Obama saying he wants to find out what happened in Benghazi is like OJ searching for the murderer.

      • MoxieLouise

OJ also looked on the golf course.

  • Scott

None from Benghazi because the photographer was sent out for his kool aid and afternoon nap, and im sure we wont get to see the video of it because that would be way to damning to them.
How does he get credit for doing a good job for Sandy??! The only thing ive noticed is he declared areas a federal disaster and signed his name to the forms to throw money at it. The real people who should be thanked are the local emergency service people, the local press corps for keep the word out about safety and the local politicians for keeping up the shelters etc. And especially all the people that have and will volunteer to help in any way possible. Thn you can thank obama for signing over funds from our taxes to help all of the above . Other than that, I dont see where he helped any more than the other 2/3 of the country that WATCHED ON TELEVISION!!!!! He probably didn’t even send up a prayer like a lot of us did and continue to do.

    • ObamaPelosi

I wonder if Obama will still keep sending aide for this disaster after he loses the election on Nov. 6th?

      • Scott

You can bet he is going to do a lot of things that quite frankly scares me. Im sure he has signed the disaster relief stuff and shouldn’t be able to add much to it other than declaring it for other areas. It’s the things he is doing behind the curtain that we should worry about. Hopefully R&R will be able to mitigate some of the damage that obama and company have shoved down our throats.

  • ratizbad

Valerie Jarrett just showed him where that room is,He thought it was the Mop room.

    • Sharon

Where has his valerie jarret been? No one has been mentioning her at all since the Bengazi attack. Maybe I will google her. lol

  • RealityBitesBack

Tone deaf with bad timing! He was in the forbidden (by himself) city of Vegas when he needed to be in the Situation Room; he was whining about taking care of “the people” during the debates when he needed to look presidential; now he’s attempting to look presidential when he needs to be connecting with people.

    Here’s your contrast…

Romney made a swift assessment regarding Benghazi and took to the microphone to speak it; he looked presidential during the debate; and now he is actually helping people impacted by the storm instead of talking about it.

  • MoxieLouise

Wow, the President practically LIVES in the situation room…weird. [Benghazi]

  • Bill Bradham

After Obama’s monstrous dereliction of duty regarding Benghazi, his campaign’s new motto should be “Bleeding From Behind.” My words are no worse than what he’s done.

  • edward cropper

ck. my blog for latest Storm Data

  • Jd Crow

Hmmm. Only 1 woman in the room of 10. Wonder if her pay is on par with her colleagues. Also whats the time stamp on that storm trajection map

    • Ken H.

He scoffs at the idea of “folders of women[‘s resumes]”.

  • MarkReardon

This is his Bengazi Photo Op. Since folks are looking, he’s hiding behind Sandy’s skirts.

  • Balkan expat

Wow look at these big screens, I should come here more often.

  • Right Wired

    Moments before:

  • Momthing

I bet he’s watching CNN or MSNBC news coverage. Certainly can’t be watching Fox. I bet they switched to The View right after the Photog finished taking the picture.

  • Mike Smith

o must have done the situation from his bedroom for Benghazi . Damn good of him to stay up for this little storm.

  • Scott

Hey guys, after we do the picture do y’all wanna play monopoly? I can be the banker and ya’ll can explain to me AGAIN how this economic stuff works.
What do you mean ya’ll dont know?
Screw it , we can play any way if I run out of money we can get another stimulus thing.

  • Paul J. Citro

It must be killing Obummer to not be on the campaign trail, what an inconvenience.

  • Melody Warbington

Look at him. Sitting in the big boy chair.

  • Vincent Conti

“Oh! So this is what a situation room looks like!”

  • BeauRyker

“After you take these pictures, turn it back on the Bulls game.”

    • Jim Denney

“True dat” … especially since his winning baseball pick was just swept.

  • Cheryl Noa

    He didn’t do shit!!!

thats why 4 men are DEAD and murdered by the situation room, isn’t that right O and HILLS…

  • Bill Bradham

Until now, Obama has only ever used the Situation Room for viewing Osama’s porn stash.

  • sadiesue17

Stupid pic. With his absence on Benghazi attack, this pic means nothing!

    • ObamaPelosi

And by the way, how the heck is watching a disaster unfold in the safety of a situation room, being presidential? I did the same thing last night watching this disaster unfold on tv while I was on my living room couch. Do I qualify to be president now?

  • 3wood

We’ve seen Bin Ladin kill room , Sandy room where in the hell is the 9/11 Benghazi room Barry?

  • porgiefirefighter

Look at me! Look at me! I’m working!!

  • entropos

I guess the killing of Osama bin Laden Situation Room pictures don’t count for anything? Your hatred of this black man blinds all of you.

    • Mapache

and him watching the Bin Laden operation being carried out means exactly what?

    • Tonya Davidsaver

we don’t hate him because he’s black. we despise him because he is a liar, and a failure as a president

    • Molly Walsh

Something gives me the impression you’d prefer he fiddles while the Northeast floods and collapses so that MORE people can die and you can then point to how inept he was. But I guess so long as people die for the greater good of voting out Obama, right?

    • Pete Futz

No, we wish that he would have done his job and not let 4 Americans die in Benghazi.

    • nc

Something gives me the impression you are a person with a tiny mind.

  • Silenttype78

It’s good to see him on top of deadly situations that he has no power to stop…
Too bad his is M.I.A when his authority is needed most.

  • Gloves Donahue, Jr.

Obama is ” monitoring the situation,” so you’re on your own.
Later, he’ll be monitoring Wheel of Fortune and a steak dinner.

    • kindamara

You forgot reruns of the View, Letterman, Leno, anything Clooney, etc etc

  • jqc1970

Obama let Americans die in Benghzai but is sitting in the situation room now trolling for votes.

  • Ariadnea

Looking at Obama’s leg placement/position while watching a calamity, makes me think that this is a very unfeeling and a less serious guy! Looks more like a person watching an entertaining show.

  • George Murrey

The pres finds time for everything else, but when it comes to national security, he would rather go to fundraisers, or sleep. When 2 a.m. came along, I bet he had some low life staffer take it. This is not my kind of leadership, time for him to go and maybe deliver pizzas. That’s if anybody would hire him, and I certainly wouldn’t.

  • Typewriterstreaming

    O is for Opportunist.

  • Mary

This “photo op” makes me sick, MIA regards Benghazi appears on MTV and interviewed by “pimp with the limp” WTH is going on!!!

  • Owen007

    After the pictures were taken:

Obama: All right, we’re done here. Be sure to clean up and turn out the lights before you leave.
Staffer: But, sir, we’ve only been here for five minutes and there’s a serious storm about to rock the country.
Obama: But I got campaigning to do.
Staffer: Mr. President, due to weather conditions, we don’t think travel is the best option right.
    Obama: You’re right… it’s getting late.
Staffer: Mr. President, if not for the clouds. it’d be sunny out right now.
Obama: Right, better get to sleep before the big bear comes home. (walks out)
Staffer: Anyone else voting for Romney next week?

  • RightThinking1

I’m betting the photog suggested that he take his feet down off the table for the photo.

  • Doug C DAV

Hmm not to sure that’s the right photo.

    • ObamaPelosi

yea, that’s more like it, and more believable!!!

  • mrt721

Here’s a pic of Obama’s Benghazi situation room:

  • Peyton

“And we’re tougher because we pull together, we leave nobody behind, we make sure we respond as a nation and remind ourselves that whenever an American is in need, all of stand together to make sure we’re providing the help that’s necessary. ” Obama speaking on the Hurricane Response.

  • gman213

The picture taken the night of Benghazi probably will show them playing poker..eating pizza..drinking beer….and doing a coin toss for calls for help

  • AUBraves

Where’s Joe???/ Must be on the Comedy Tour somewhere. I did recognize the press secretary there ( a very useful person in a disaster) but not really any of the others.

  • Junie3

Zooming in, there’s nothing written on any of the tablets.

  • InformNow

It’s 3:00 AM…. There’s a phone ringing in the White House…. ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring… As Hillary’s ad says, “Who do you want answering the phone?” Apparently we now know it is not Obama and it is not Hillary!

Answering machine picks up and says, “Uh, hello. This is Obama. Gone beddey-bye. Big day in Vegas baby. Press one to contribute to my campaign. Press two to donate to my re-election. Press three to leave a massage? Massage?! Bill Clinton, stop writing my voice mail scripts!

Obama called on the Seals for help in getting Osama and was REWARDED.

The Seals called on Obama for help in Benghazi and were DENIED!

Biden said the president would be tested during his term. He was. He FAILED!

  • saltonchips

The .50 cals on the roof at the Annex in Benghazi were covered in blood. Smith, Dougherty and Woods died fighting, target painted.on, wondering where support was.

He LEFT THEM THERE. Them and Stevens, whose body was missing for awhile…and sodomized.

    Now, the tapes are TS.

It isn’t just them he has left. We, too, as Americans, are his enemies.

Remember that in the debate #2, on the Libya question, Obama said that these people were representatives not just of the US, but also they worked for him. The syntax is off, if you look at the actual wording. Like he’s separate.
Don’t you feel safer with this man as President? Don’t you think your family, your children, your grandchildren will be safer……..? /sarc

  • Chris Burke

Y’see! Bush didn’t care enough during Katrina to have a photo op in the situation room! This shows 0 cares more!

  • AZcommenter

    @ZekeJMiller Where’s the #Benghazi photo?

The White House does not like to release photos of Obama asleep in bed.

  • Terry

It was a Cat 1 hurricane with 1 week’s advanced notice. Give me a friggin break. FYI to those who have never been to ‘fly over country’: We get waves on Lake Michigan, that’s why we have break waters. We had more wind last week from a cold front that blew thru than we had from Sandy. Not to diminish the damage in on the coast, but geez, what does one expect when living next to an ocean? Major news media trying to make it seem like Sandy ‘devastated’ the Midwest… NOT. We are used to storms and don’t need Obama in the situation room for it. Those guys in Benghazi needed a CIC and they didn’t get it. THAT breaks my heart!!

  • freedom4allexceptrichrite

someone with the talent should make a renactment of the benghazi-gate from 911 to today that would be a great short film.

  • el_polacko

were they playing musical chairs ?? folks are in different seats in the two pics…and yet barack’s dainty tea cup is still in the same spot.

  • Terika

They were watching Monday Night Football –

OFA photo shopped the big screen.
All I see are other people on that screen.
How do we even know this is a “Sandy” Situation Room meeting?
I don’t trust ANYTHING dispensed by these scumbags. Sorry.
So, I’m confused – was it the situation room, then Vegas?
Or “The Situation” in a room in Vegas?
(MSM can’t get much straight these days…)

  • Mackie72

After the photo opp, Obama stood up and Val Jarrett took her seat back.

  • Cynthia Moore

Did he happen to get a national security briefing while he was there?

  • irishgirl91

A community meeting where he gets to preside at the head of the table while others make decisions and discuss what THEY are doing. Did they have “breakout sessions” after lunch? He has no real decisions to make, save one, “lift the red tape and let loose the funds”. Empty chair.

  • Emjay Graykat

Wow, what a man. He’s so relaxed and in charge. I really thought they’d have him pose with his feet up on the conference table, like when they posed him with his feet up on the desk in the Oval Office. Reagan’s fuming in his grave over that one. They must have hustled the lawyers out for this photo op.

  • Pam Eash

Bhengazi? The President didn’t care—he wasn’t in harms way, and he had re-election on his mind: Intervening would have been taking action that required decisive thought.
Better to dodge it and protect his own back….he could always “fog” it away with the press.

  • Kimberly Schutzenhofer

I just want one question answered. When the WTC 9/11 attacks occurred, there were multiple strikes. How did this so called president KNOW it was okay to go to bed and trot off to Vegas instead of the situation room to see if more attacks were to follow? Does that seem odd to anybody? Aside from the fact help was denied to our men, HOW did he not worry there was more to follow? Hmmmmmmmm.

  • Streetiebird

Because it’s never too late to use dead Americans to attack our President. Classy Twitchy Staff, very classy. Just like Hannity and others in the rightwing media, Twitchy appears to believe that attacking the President and siding with terrorists is far more important than actually investigating the attack.

  • Donna

DISGUSTING to the max. It makes me very sad to see Obama & Co. using the hurricane, and people’s personal disasters to further his political career, by making a [weak] attempt to look “Presidential”.
God help me, it’s hard to pray for those we dislike, isn’t it?
As soon as I un-grit my teeth, pray I shall.

  • MaddMedic
  • WessOA

Obozo even said that he would not leave anyone behind after the storm. Simply outrageous. If you help in voting out this defiler of the White House, you can feel as proud of saving your country as the patriots felt in fighting to create it.

  • world’s greatest orator

You don’t understand–Obama likes to prance around and pose for cute snaps only when it’s something he has no control over. In regard to actual decision-making, I refer you to any roll call of the Illinois state senate ’97 through 2004.
