Really, Obama? The arrogance, it scorches. Last night at an event with some basketball stars, President Obama actually said that it’s “very rare I come to an event where I’m like the 5th or 6th most interesting person.”

The Weekly Standard also reports that his “new tone,” like his modesty, is an utter fail.

He wound up by saying: “I can’t resist a basketball analogy. We are in the fourth quarter. We’re up by a few points but the other side is coming strong and they, they, they play a little dirty. (Laughter) We’ve got a few folks on our team in foul trouble. We’ve got a couple of injuries and I believe that they’ve got one last run in them.”

“I’d say there’s about seven minutes to go in the game. And Michael’s competitiveness is legendary and nobody knows better than Michael that if you’ve got a little bit of a lead and there’s about seven minutes ago, that’s when you put them away.”

Put them away! Maybe “get in their faces”? Plus, wow. Delusional much? If you want to talk about playing dirty, Obama, look in the mirror. Hint: Accusing someone of being a felon (even if you try to lie about doing so) and of killing a woman is beyond dirty and entering into pure gutter sludge.

Citizens cannot believe his utter arrogance. It seems like we should be used to his unmitigated hubris by now, yet he always manages to one-up the ego and surprise us all.

This Twitter user sums it up.

From your lips … may his fall be a resounding defeat in November!

Update: Win.

Of course, the sycophants at The Washington Post would disagree. If they have recovered from their total embarrassment yet.

  • Penny Robinson Fan Club

Un-effin-believable. Was he trying to be funny?

  • TLKensington

He is the freakin President of the United States. Last I checked there is just one of them. That is pretty freaking interesting. Even if he is an idiot.

    • wildguy21

How arrogant do you have to be to say it though? This isn’t a rap song.

      • TLKensington

Politicians tend to be arrogant. I think this is no more arrogant than someone saying that God wants them to be president. Like if God has taken an interest in one persons life and wants to make them president. Politicians say arrogant things. Usually that isn’t a news story.

        • Joseph Stuewe

          Until a Republican says it

    • SJ’s Dad

So you’re calling him “an idiot”, yet find him “pretty freaking interesting.”???? . . .
      . . . Riiiight!-)

      • TLKensington

When I have met both Bushs and Clinton it was pretty freaking awesome even if I didn’t like their policies. I would feel the same way with Obama. He is the leader of the free world. So yes I can think someone is an idiot but think meeting them is pretty freaking interesting. I’m a nerd for this stuff.

        • Jay Stevens

Leader of the free world? Apparently not. Apparently Valerie Jarret is.

        • Maria

In a room with both Bushes, Clinton, Obama, and some homeless guy.. Obama still is the least interesting man in the room.

    • SineWaveII

    • Maria

Nah, because apparently anyone can be President. All you need is a hoard of morons to vote for you.

  • josef

He is sounding more and more like Fidel Castro.

  • TomJB

Here’s another basketball analogy likely to come true:

Its late in the 4th quarter and your team is trailing with no hope of winning. Since it is an elimination game, you have no problem taking cheap shots and making hard fouls with the intent of trying to injure the other team’s players because if you can’t win, well, they don’t deserve it either. And since the season is over, there is no reason to try and hide these moves from the refs either.

  • Bob Richards

He’s ‘the most interesting, er, arrogant man in the world”.

  • Larry Baron

It’s rare that he’s not the most narcissistic person in the room!

  • James Neal

It is rare that he says anything that is not 5 or 6 million times less interesting than anything that has been said that day or this century. It has now come down to a desperate strategy of putting out these little little fails and ego bombs as the only thing left to keep the discussion off his record…

  • rivers

Most of us only say things like that when we’re drunk and the filters are off.

    • SineWaveII

A lifetime of snorting coke has burned out his filters, permanently.

  • Delroy_Monjo

Of course you’re not interesting, your moves to the hoop SUCK! No goals, no assists, but plenty of blocks, eh, Barky?

  • James Brewer

Well, to be fair to him he is pretty interesting in that whole “Nero fiddling while Rome burns” way.

  • Liberty

I wasn’t aware being “interesting” was a requirement to be good at basketball. So, let’s be honest: is this really an accomplishment?

    • Jay Stevens

Which? Being “interesting” or being good at basketball?

      • Maria

        Either. LoL

  • David maley

He is usually the least interesting person in the room

    • SineWaveII

He’s always the least interesting person in our living room when he’s on the TV

  • Snarky D

    He’s been to all 57 states. #themostinterestingmanintheroom

    • SJ’s Dad

      5th or 6th!

      • Snarky D

        Indeed :)

  • stillinthe60s

Sign this guy up for a DOS EQUIS beer commercial. You know the one…”The most interesting man in the world.”

  • docfjs

Perhaps he should quit his present job and become the pitch man for Dos Equis beer?

    • SineWaveII

No he’s just not interesting enough for that job.

    • Joseph Stuewe

Too late, he has his own blend of White House Beer.

  • nc

Just as long as he’s 2nd on Nov 6.

  • BackwardsBoy

Yup, I’d agree. He’s usually the least interesting man in the room, so being the 5th or 6th most interesting would be an upgrade.
    I certainly wouldn’t engage him. I like intelligent conversation…

  • RealityBitesBack

What comes instantly to mind are the fundraising dinners with Hollywood celebrities, ouch! #Refund

But then I’m reminded of how often he makes it a point to have dinner with his family where Valerie Jarrett is frequently included…

So who does Barack think is less interesting… his wife, his mentor, one of his daughters? #RealWarOnWomen

  • BeeKaaay

Obama can be 5th or 6th most interesting person in the room is if the other 5 people in the room are child molesters.

    • TomJB

or when he is the only person in the room

      • BeeKaaay

Yeah, the toilet bowl is far more popular :)

  • Frank DiSalle

“It’s very rare that I come to an event where I am the fifth or sixth most interesting person”
Because he’s usually the 87th or 88th most interesting person…

  • Paul Forsberg

Barak – you are the single most interesting MORON on planet earth.

  • Maria

He’s only the most interesting man in the room when he’s in a private or one stall bathroom.
