Weird! How can this be? Out: Actual reporting. In: Lame attempts at media-created false narratives.

Ha! But, that’s not completely accurate. As Twitchy reported, the media did make some mention of Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day. Not to report on its epic success, of course. They only made mention in order to label it a “day of intolerance.” See, as always, it is a case of “tolerance” for thee, but not for me. Tolerance tyrants, including those in the media, think tolerance is a one-way street. Submit … or else.

Further, they are willfully refusing to understand the basic concept of the support for Chick-fil-A. It’s not about gay people. It is about free speech, individual liberties and standing up to bullies.

Bingo. Gay people; Squee! They are so totally cool. The only thing lacking is the pats on their purty, little heads. How condescending, media.

Plus, it helps further the false narrative that this is about “hate” for gay people. This is also why you won’t see any of these pictures today; hateful, intolerant Chick-fil-A staff providing free water and gracious, courteous attention to the people protesting their business and threatening their livelihoods. Now with more hateful graffiti.

Thankfully, new media and “just bloggers” report from on-the-scene and they report things accurately. Twitter users who know not to rely on the dangerously biased media are calling the media out for their pitiful water carrying ways.

The Weekly Standard reports on the abysmal lack of Chick-fil-A appreciation day coverage. Journalistic integrity? Journalists don’t need no stinkin’ integrity!

But you wouldn’t know anything about the national phenomenon by reading the front pages of most of the country’s leading newspapers. There’s no mention of Chick-fil-A on the front pages of the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, theSouth Florida Sun-Sentinel, and the Boston Globe. The front pages of USA Today, the Dallas Morning News, and the Houston Chronicle have small headlines about the restaurant, while Chick-fil-A’s hometown paper, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, fits in a story below the fold under the heading, “Chick-fil-A Controversy.” And the front pages of major news websites are quiet in their coverage as well.

But what will they do when today turns out to be a bust, as it is so far?

HuffPo is begging for photos, while calling Chick-fil-A hateful, natch. No, really. They are begging for them in a desperate attempt to show some kind of “protest” action.

Even if you aren’t actually going to the kiss-in, because slacktivism is hard, send pics anyway. So they have something to falsely paint as a success! How pitiful.

But where are they? Where are the photos of the massive crowds, like there were on Appreciation Day?

Wait, here is one. Full of bigotry and disgusting Christian-bashing.

https://twitter.com/emmy_gee/status/231319181453316096

Here’s another:

Heh. Fail, media and “protesters.”

Where are the photos? Where are the massive crowds? Oh, wait.

https://twitter.com/raechick7/status/231418203774009344

Americans are still supporting Chick-fil-A and are still refusing to submit to bullying. Chick-fil-A was trending all day during Appreciation Day. Picture services were overwhelmed with pictures. Today? Not so much.

This Twitter user leaves the “protesters” with some food for thought.

A tale of two pictures tells it all. Here is the “massive,” media-worthy protest today.

Look at that oh-so-huge crowd!

And here is one from Appreciation Day.

Huh. Wonder why the media swept the second one under the lapdog rug? Does the sight of freedom-loving Americans frighten them?

Yes.

Update: Proof of failure and media bias.

That’s right. They used a photo of the huge crowd on Appreciation Day for their article about the “kiss-in” protest. What, no actual pictures from today? Too humiliating to show?

  • Jeffrey Harbin

Re: the snarky food bank/homeless shelter picture…my church has either run them outright or supported them through our work and our donations. And if you count up all the people involved it’s more than what appears in the photo. So congrats, Left, on another in a long and growing series of #FAILS!

    • radical1979

All the food banks and homeless shelters I know of are run by some religious organization. No, we don’t all show up on one day, instead Christians show up throughout the year on different days. We might work in the food pantries, buy food for them, or transport food. We do this week in and week out. But we do it quietly, as a gift to God, not something we want to show off and get applause for.

      • brianmouland

My girlfriend and I are patrons at a soup kitchen . Most of the volunteers are quiet working people who seek no attention and are there out of the goodness of their hearts. Compare that to look at me I am so special attitude of some of the Chick-Fil-A protestors

    • $22639970

I’ve looked all over for the food banks and homeless shelters, not to mention hospitals, run by homosexual activists. Funny, but I haven’t been able to find any. I guess they’re too busy harassing people for daring to disagree with their agenda.

  • WJGBalderama

Married men and women of America: it’s a ‘kiss-in.’ Leave your kids at home and go over to your fave Chick-fil-A outlet and OVERWHELM the same-sex crowd with your number. You know they won’t be buying anything, but will demand free water and do their deed. There’s more of you than them. Make it a date.

    • gekkobear

I love the “free water” thing…

I’m going to spend $5 on gas to drive over, and cost you $0.10 for a cup and water. … This is a protest?

If you’ll burn $5 of your money to cost someone $0.10 you’re basically saying you hate them more than 50 times more than you like yourself.

That seems like a lot of hate for “tolerance”.

      • CindyLyn4

You know he got fired, right? Serves him right.

    • Hiraghm

Hey, I was at Chik-Fil-A today… whole families where in that crowded place with kids as young as 1 or 2. Not a protester in sight, kissing or otherwise.

It does not start until 7:00 PM fool. The scheduled time has been all over the news.

        • http://twitter.com/RealLarryBaron Larry Baron

Then why was the media there at 9am?

          • Rick Hall

You’ll have to ask the media that. We all posted the 7:00PM time for us to meet.

          • http://twitter.com/RealLarryBaron Larry Baron

My point is you called jim williams ” fool” for not knowing the correct time as it was “all over the news” If it was all over the news why did the “news” media get there 10 hours early?

          • Rick Hall

And I replied “You’ll have to ask to media that.” How would I know why the media got there early?

          • http://twitter.com/RealLarryBaron Larry Baron

Again, my point is why did you call the man a fool when even the NEWS media didn’t know?

          • Rick Hall

I’m sure the media know. Like any good news people, they wanted to get there early to see if the opposition was planning anything. What does it matter anyway?

            10 hours early?

          • Rick Hall

            That is a silly comment.

          • vphilly

Wouldn’t want to miss out on any news? Your asshole news media pals missed out on a full day of news on Wednesday, when CFA was ***overwhelmed*** with business. Instead, the show up 10 hours early for your little limp dick non-event? Thye are just as fucking stupid as you.

          • Rick Hall

I saw Wednesday’s event all over the news. So, don’t tell me the media didn’t cover it.

That’s how kiss-ins generally work. It’s an event thing. We can’t just stand around kissing for hours, after all. Also it was planned before the events of the first were.

Good for you Rick! Go kiss something and enjoy a chicken sandwich also! We don’t hate you, we just don’t really give a damn either way! Man stated his opinion that’s all. He employs gays and serves them! What is the beef?

          • Tyke

He donates money to organizations which want to eradicate us :(

          • http://owsusefulidiots.blogspot.com/ Truth Has No Agenda

Are you talking about the Muslims? They do want to eradicate you. Christians do now. They just don’t want your group to change the meaning of the word marriage. Which you have no CONSTITUTIONAL rights to marry either do straight people. Marriage is a CIVIL CONTRACT at the state level. It it was a RIGHT you would not need a marriage license just like you don’t need a license for free speech.

          • Tyke

I’m against that too. I’m against the dumb mayors banning CFA in their cities.
I suspect talking to you wouldn’t get either of us very far, so we’re going to have to agree to disagree. But I refuse to be a second-class citizen. The state has no right to discriminate against me by denying me marriage to the woman I love (when I find her).

          • http://owsusefulidiots.blogspot.com/ Truth Has No Agenda

The correct way is to change the state laws legally not by stunts like today. You convince no one to agree with your side today. And Wednesday you were told what people thought by the millions that showed up.

What give you the ‘right’ to marry? Based on what? Why do liberals think everything is a right when it’s not.

Got news for you only God gives people “RIGHTS” like life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They are REAL RIGHTS. Everything else is just made up in your head. If a government can give you rights they can take them away. Do you really want government to have that much power?

If they do have that much power when they turn conservative and they will at some point they would be able to take ALL YOUR RIGHTS AWAY. I don’t think it’s a good idea.

          • Tyke

I am not a liberal. I voted for Bush & McCain, and will vote for Romney.
The state can not discriminate against two consenting adults. Like it or not, that’s how it is.

          • http://owsusefulidiots.blogspot.com/ Truth Has No Agenda

First all I don’t believe you are a conservative. We are talking about GAY MARRIAGE and YES we CAN TELL YOU WHAT TO DO ABOUT THAT.

YOU NEED TO GET A MARRIAGE LICENSE and THERE ARE RULES TO GETTING THAT LICENSE.

I am really being to think gay minds aren’t wired to understand law & logic.

HOW DID 31 STATES BAN GAY MARRIAGE THEN? That state can stop gay people from getting married. IT’S THE LAW IN 31 STATES and counting.

The one commentary that said that Christians probably wouldn’t show up to support the poor was totally overridden by Glen Beck’s rally last week that had thousands of free meals delivered by Christians and other volunteers.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

And the press did their best to ignore that event also.

    • disqus_eric

      What? I didn’t hear about that…

      Sadly, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

    • http://limemediahawaii.com/ AniMatsuri

That comment is so far out there. A lot of food banks and homeless shelters are RUN by Christians and the like that showed up for Chick-fil-a appreciation day.

      • jake23r

If chickfila had given the 5 million dollars that they donated to discriminatory groups and gave it to the poor, what a difference that would have made and would have been more christian.

        • http://limemediahawaii.com/ AniMatsuri

What kind of discriminatory groups? Why are you so concerned over how much they give to who? I bet they still do more for the poor than most who pick on this point.

          • jake23r

Groups such as pray the gay away and groups who want to discriminate by putting laws against gay marriage. 5 million is a lot of money and it’s all Christian hate money

          • http://limemediahawaii.com/ AniMatsuri

If it makes you feel any better there are many companies bigger than Chick-Fli-A that give 10 times that much to the homosexual groups that push hard for same sex marriages. It’s not like they are passing laws telling them(you?) where to sit in the bus or what water fountain you can drink out of. Same sex “marriages” are more about making a polilictical statement than anything else. If you read this article above, the only hate going around is from the handful of extremist

homosexual groups that are over reacting to Chick-Fli-A’s 1st

            amendment
            rights.

          • jake23r

Nope not me, just that everyone should treat everyone equally and if you are so naive to think there is no hate going around, just ask those that still eat there, why they chose to eat there — it’s because “chickfila doesn’t support them queers”. I don’t really care if there are other groups but we are talking about chickfila here.

          • http://limemediahawaii.com/ AniMatsuri

Now you’re just making stuff up. Of all the people interviewed NONE of them said anything like that.

Look I don’t need to make stuff up, because the amount of hatred that is out there just comes right on through. Are you not aware of the bullying and the deaths related to gays — or is that media fabrication as well.

          • http://limemediahawaii.com/ AniMatsuri

If these people are so numuous why go to some anonymous types that claim to work at chickflia? They could have intereviewed just about anyone coming out of the store!
One or two deaths due to bullying does not an epidemic make.

          • jake23r

There are much more, are you kidding me — just look at this board completely filled with hate and don’t tell me otherwise, the evidence is all written down. Who am I to tell others how to live their life? I live a christian life that is for spreading love not hate. I am not God and neither are you — it’s not your responsibility.

          • http://limemediahawaii.com/ AniMatsuri

So anyone who disagrees with redefining what marriage is now is a hater? Surely you don’t think spreading love is bomb threats & graphiti on anyone you disagree with?

          • jake23r

No, i’m simply asking you to look at the responses on this board and tell me there is not Hate going on, because it certainly is not love. Those that are disagreeing with marriage are just spewing their hate all over these boards and if you don’t see it you are blind. Is that what you call christianity? Certainly not my catholic church christianity.

          • http://limemediahawaii.com/ AniMatsuri

So the Catholic church recently came out for homosexual marriage?

          • jake23r

Oh my goodness you are dense! “putting laws against gay marriage”? The laws ALREADY prohibit gay marriage (as well as marriage to relatives, animals, children, etc). So you are basically saying that people who uphold the laws are somehow the villains? That is completely twisted. And, it was TWO million – at least keep your story straight!

          • jake23r

You are the one who is dense here. DUH, THERE ARE LAWS PROHIBITING GAY MARRIAGE — That’s the issue here, did you think we were talking about something else? Traditional marriage is not at stake here — as if everyone who went to chickfila thought that somehow someone was taking that away — don’t tell anyone though because chickfila needs the money.

          • vphilly

“it’s all Christian hate money” That is your subjective opinion, not fact.

          • BruceMichaelGrant

You can’t put ‘laws’ against something that doesn’t exist, fool. (When’s the last time a Christian vandalized a hairdresser’s office?)

          • jake23r

the law was in place in maryland, then they got signatures together to put it up to a vote. Do I really need to go into all the crimes that christians have done?

          • BruceMichaelGrant

Yes, you do. Just saying something doesn’t make it the truth.

While you’re racking your brain for examples, don’t forget to include the Rev Al Sharpton the anti-Semitic racist rabble-rouser, slanderer and liar, the Rev Jesse Jackson, professional race-hustling blackmailer of corporations, and the Rev Jeremiah Wright, the racist heretic who believes that ‘if God is not for us and against white people…we better kill Him’. Wright has also earned the distinction of being the first (anti-) American clergyman in my knowledge to be ‘bleeped’ from a PULPIT.

          • jake23r

well you already got your evidence so what’s the problem?

          • BruceMichaelGrant

No problem at all. These faux ‘Christians’, one of whom impregnated a staffer and paid her off with funds from his organization, another who made false claims so outrageous he lost a libel suit and never paid the judgment, and another who blamed America for the 9/11 attacks, are all darlings and honored members of the left and the Democrat Party. ALL of them.
YOU claimed you had evidence of criminality on the Christian ‘right’. You have yet to produce it. Waiting….

          • jake23r

IT IS BY THE WAY THE MAIN STICKING POINT. He has his views that’s fine but to give 5 million dollars (is that not a lot to you???) to these groups is just horrendous. and it doesn’t matter that he helps the poor. It would be like donating to the KKK and then saying well I also donate to the poor. And I care because the money is coming from the food that I used to purchase from chickfila — so we are funding his discrimination. DID I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR???

          • http://limemediahawaii.com/ AniMatsuri

You make these groups to be just like the KKK. They aren’t. Why do you want to make a mockery of prayer? There is no physical evidence that people are “born homosexual”. Not everyone wants to continue being a smoker and not everyone feels like the homosexual lifestyle is for them afterwhile. There are groups to help each of them.

          • Hello Jerry (D)

            Truth hurts asswipe.

          • jake23r

actually, i just found that one of the groups that chickfila supports — supported the Uganda killing of gays, so if that’s not close to the KKK, i don’t know what is. There is no physical evidence because god created all of us — if you think anyone would want to choose to be gay, you would be insane — No one would want to be tortured or be bullied or even think about committing suicide.

          • BruceMichaelGrant

Source, please. Link. Name of group. Proof that CFA knowingly supports such activity. You won’t provide it. You CAN’T provide it.
You’ve got about as much credibility as the pedophile Harry Reid.

          • chris

Here’s your proof — harry reid is a pedophile, what’w with you and the name calling?! http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/chick-fil-a-profits-are-supporting-ugandas-kill-the-gays-bill/politics/2012/08/01/45430

          • jake23r

Here’s YOUR PROOF: Geez, harry reid is a pedophile now? what is with you and the name calling??? http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/chick-fil-a-profits-are-supporting-ugandas-kill-the-gays-bill/politics/2012/08/01/45430

          • BruceMichaelGrant

Your perilously leftwing crapsheet provides NO evidence substantiating their claim of ‘Kill the Gay’. It simply makes it up. Your links only go back to articles that repeat this baseless charge. Please quit using hysterical unproven smears by leftwing biased gay advocacy echo-chamber websites as a substitute for real research.

          • jake23r

You know I’m starting to believe that you are in no way catholic or even christian or simply blinded or stubborn or all of the above.

          • BruceMichaelGrant

Unlike you, I really don’t care whether you believe me or not. I sure as Hell don’t believe you.
If you think I’m ‘stubborn’ for not swallowing your liberal think tank talking point swill then that’s ok too. Just stop talking to me. (Pal.)

          • jake23r

Hey you keep replying, I dare you to ask me anything about going to church and i’ll answer you. You just can’t believe anything when someone disagrees with you — you even resort to swearing (a sin), calling people names and putting people down, you don’t want a dialogue, you want to be right all the time. You are so close minded that you think I don’t go to church. Do you realize that over 60 percent of catholics don’t even buy that religious freedom that the popes keep pushing or that not even all the diocese agreed with the suit?, don’t you love how they don’t even explain to people in the sermons that it’s about contraception?

          • http://limemediahawaii.com/ AniMatsuri

If that’s the reasoning you’re using, there must be a lot people who were born smokers since why else would they endure the abuse(forced to smoke in alleyways next to dumpters, & etc.) they are getting nowdays?
Heck, go with the flow Disney has even decided that any films that come out from now on with someone smoking in it automatically gets an R rating. How’s that for trying to shame a certain segment of the population?

          • jake23r

No you just have nowhere to go with your argument, do you even know what you are talking about?

          • http://limemediahawaii.com/ AniMatsuri

Hey, I’m just mirroring you’re “no one would chose to be homosexual” argument and subtituting homosexual with another group and is discriminated just as much if not more.

          • jake23r

That’s hilarious, you are soooo delusional. Yup, smokers are more discriminated against than homosexuals. NOTED.

          • http://limemediahawaii.com/ AniMatsuri

Fact is they are, so why do they still do it? You do know some companies have already fired people for not quiting smoking?

          • http://www.facebook.com/karma.rose.16 Karma Rose

$5 million? Typical Lib math. For a week all the whine sites have said $2 million. Regardless.. they had revenues of $4 billion (with a B). Since I am gonna guess you had a public school education – that is 0.0005%. Plus, the groups that got the money are PRO-family, NOT anti-gay. I could maybe see the outrage had CFA given millions to westboro baptist church, but this is false indignation. One can stand for something without being actively trying to destroy something else. Well – one can, if they are conservative. Apparently not if they are liberal.

          • vphilly

“I could maybe see the outrage had CFA given millions to westboro baptist church, but this is false indignation” Of course it’s false and ginned up indignation. They need a leg to stand on an they don’t have one without manufacturing outrage.

          • jake23r

No one said they donated to westboro — maybe you said it so that you can in turn say how wrong people are, so wrong.

          • jake23r
          • jake23r

They are actively trying to destroy gay marriage. Only in your mind can they uphold principles and not see that they are discriminating. Traditional marriage is not at stake here. Did I miss that somewhere or did you misinterpret that somewhere? No one is taking that away, but divorce can — do you have a problem with that too — because chickfila does. Why is it okay for us christians to outlaw what someone else does? We can still have our beliefs without infringing on someone else’s. Someone doesn’t agree with you about anything, which I’m certain that is the case ten times over and they should be put to jail? What happened to states that do allow gay marriage — did everyone who didn’t like it because of their principles — did their minds explode? Do you realize that interracial marriage was outlawed before 1967? But something tells me that you would just be fine with that if that law had continued. Oh one doesn’t have to do with another, okay. Go on living your life telling other people what is right and what is wrong because that’s what god wants for us to be cruel to one another.

          • Randy Stephenson

No one outlawed marriage..man can marry woman and woman can marry man..you just want SPECIAL privledges..and stop trying to compare yourselves with other races..you are not and the blacks and others are really fed up with the rhetoric

          • BruceMichaelGrant

US ‘christians’? No Christian I know of consistently fails to capitalize ‘God’ or ‘Christian’.
Quit pretending to be a Christian to gain false credibility for your leftwing opinions. (Rush would call you a ‘seminar poster’.)

          • jake23r

I do go to catholic church every sunday, I was an altar boy. I don’t care if you believe me or not, but I do — I kinda get the feeling that a lot of people on this board don’t though. Did you know it was a mortal sin not to go to church or to even be late for church — parents don’t even seem to encourage kids to go to church anymore. Are you Catholic? Because just this year, they decided to change the entire mass responses for no particular reason at all — imagine changing something that has been in place for decades. Anyways, at least I don’t pretend to have gay friends or relatives and yet go against them.

          • BruceMichaelGrant

No you didn’t. You still can’t remember to capitalize ‘Catholic’. I wouldn’t believe you were an altar boy if you produced an autographed mitre from the Pope. Nice try, pal.

          • jake23r

I don’t really care if you do or not — seriously, you don’t think i don’t go to church because i dont CAPITALIZE CATHOLIC? Pretty low reason, what are you an english teacher as well? oops didn’t capatilize English either. I find it funny that you can’t believe that someone who believes that everyone should have equal rights can also be Christian — kinda funny because you don’t associate kindness to Christianity???? You like to irritate people, I can see that, glad I don’t have to be anywhere around you, PAL!

          • BruceMichaelGrant

Yes, I WAS raised Catholic…and I learned early on to capitalize Catholic and God. It’s important to a genuinely religious person…kind of a no-brainer.
I also learned to sense bullshit throughout my adult life…especially when alleged conservatives with long lists of bona fides suddenly start spouting liberal talking points. So give it up, pal.

          • jake23r

sorry, I just went to sunday school didn’t go to Catholic school and capitalization was not an issue, was confirmed, slapped in the face, I get ashes every ash wed, even go to work with ashes on my forehead even though I get a little ridiculed for it. I fast on ash wed and good friday and only eat fish on Fridays during Lent. I go to confession, the whole bless me father for I have sinned and end with the act of contrition. I’m so used to saying “lord I’m not worthy to receive you but only say the word and I shall be healed” instead of the new way of saying it of entering under my roof. Easter is a bigger holiday than Christmas and again hate the new way of the mass that incorporates the spirit but then makes everyone else confused at what to say without having to look at the little booklet — but you probably don’t know they have changed it because you probably only go to church during holidays. Anyways, I don’t need to prove anything to you. Don’t you love it when you are right about every single thing?

          • BruceMichaelGrant

Wait. I thought you ‘didn’t care whether you believed me or not’? Now I get the ‘Stations of the Cross’, the ‘Apostles’ Creed’, and the entire Sunday School liturgy. For someone who keeps saying they don’t ‘need to prove it to me’ they’re trying like Hell. If you don’t really care, then stop trying to convince me. (Cause you never will.)

          • jake23r

Well go ahead ask me anything about the church, something no one else would know — u too afraid, that (gasp) you are wrong? because you are never wrong. Cuz you really got me with the capitals, HAHAHAHAHA. My only “liberal” position is believing that everyone should be treated equally and that God is the only judge.

          • BruceMichaelGrant

Why do you insist that I believe you’re a practicing Catholic? Give it up. I never will. You keep saying you ‘don’t care’ but now you want me to ask you for the Catholic secret freaking handshake or some other mystery? Give. It. Up. Pal.

          • jake23r

Because you are so stubborn in just about everything, you don’t believe anything that is not in line with what you believe. If you say something, it is so. you really have some kind of God complex. You seem to say that you are catholic yet you push your views with profanity and a holier than thou attitude. Are you gonna now tell me I’m a child and that I should let the adults speak?

          • jake23r

Why did you stop going to church? you do know it’s a mortal sin not to go to church every week. See I have that sense to, because you have no idea about the new mass responses

          • jake23r

Anyways, hope you decide to go back to church next weekend. masstimes.org is a good website to check out masstimes if you are out of town. Peace!

          • jake23r

There is a way to be pro-family without having national laws against it. The jewish faith don’t celebrate christmas, but us christians do — has our nation suffered because of it — are you affected that a religion does not do what you believe in?

          • jake23r

So you don’t find it wasteful to spend 5 million dollars on an act of discrimination — it’s okay with you to put your own religious beliefs on the rest of america? Do you not have the idea that anyone else with different beliefs lives in America and that there is a separation of religion and state? Let me tell you — you are not God — only God can judge. Ask your priest if it is best to help the poor or go for tactics that are less than holy and see what his response is

          • http://www.facebook.com/karma.rose.16 Karma Rose

Who cares if it’s wasteful? it’s not YOUR money. We worry about when the government wastes our money because that is OUR money. This is CFA’s money. If they want to use it as toilet paper, it’s not OUR business. Really jake – your mommy should take away your computer. You are obviously too young to be on the internet unsupervised. @Jake23r It’s only “discrimintory groups” because you feel that they are? Well I feel that they are not..and I feel YOU are discrimintory. You should have learned by now that your opinion is only important to you we all have our own beliefs..stop trying to push your crap on me..bigot

          • jake23r

How do you not find groups that are putting down another minority NOT DISCRIMINATORY? I’m not pushing anything on you, what exactly am I doing? We are a free country, freedom of speech remember? That’s rich, calling me the bigot — well it’s very obvious to me who the bigot is here. So let me get this straight — you don’t want me to put my beliefs on you — well that’s exactly what i’m saying, we don’t as a nation have the right to impose religious beliefs on the entire nation. I mean what if other religious groups wanted to get rid of Christmas. There are other people in this world you know or do you think you are the only one and that everyone believes everything you do– must be so nice when you are always right about everything. You are not GOD or maybe you think you are.

          • jake23r

Actually chickfila also supported Uganda allowing them to kill gays — now if that’s not discriminatory I don’t know what is — but I guess that’s okay with you anyways.

    • JoeMyGodNYC

You must live in Saudi Arabia. Kissing in public is not a crime in the United States. #LOLwingnuts

      • John Finnerty

        Hey Joe!
        Waddya know?
It actually IS against the law, right here in the good ole US of A!:
        Florida State Law Statute 800.02
Covers “Unnatural” & “Lascivious” Acts between two people.
Now before you get all LWNJ hate speechy on me, I am merely pointing out your ignorance, which we both know is no excuse before the law! . . . Or maybe you didn’t know that either? (Sorry, I shouldn’t make assumptions!)

        • Rick Hall

Florida is not the entire United States. And so straight people can’t kiss in Florida. When I was there last there were a whole lot of law breakers then. Here’s your Florida State Law Statute
800.02: ”Unnatural and lascivious act.—A person who commits any unnatural and lascivious act with another person commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. A mother’s breastfeeding of her baby does not under any circumstance violate this section.
Kissing is not considered an unnatural or lascivious act.”
Therefore, kissing is NOT against the law.

          • John Finnerty

I must have missed the piece on Florida’s secession from the Republic!
READ my words, Rick, ALL of them!
THEN, try to have a little understanding of a little something called”context”.
Within the “Context” of a Republic (including her States located within her borders) whose laws and statutes were drafted upon & rooted in Judeo-Christian ethics, the term “unnatural” can be found in a passage from a little collection of books, you may have heard of it, it’s called “The Bible” in the book entitled “The Letter of St. Paul to the Romans” check out Rom. 1: 26-28 likely what that is in reference to.
Now, again, before you get all LWNJ hate speechy, bear in mind these “laws” are the law of the land, not MY personal law, and they are based on the WORD of GOD, not MY words, you got a beef? . . . TAKE IT UP WITH HIM!!!!!!!!

          • Rick Hall

The word of god and your religion do not make our country’s laws. And you mentioned a Florida state law ( however incorrectly.) and said it was against Florida law. No one said anything about Florida seceding from the U.S. The bible also does not have anything to do with our U.S. laws. Where did you go to school?

          • John Finnerty

I clearly gave you too much credit, Rick, but I am likely going to shock you a bit when I tell you that I am in COMPLETE agreement with your initial points in your 2nd rebuttal: The word of god (lowercase “g” unfamiliar with this author) and your religion do not make our country’s laws. . . Mine is the most persecuted Religion in the history of mankind, but that’s another lesson for another time.
To the point you were attempting . . . Try buying a car from any car dealership in the State of MN on Sunday, you can’t, IT’S THE LAW! . . . Bu why Sunday you ask, why not say, Tuesday, traditionally the slowest sales day of the week, or Thursday, statistically the weakest in worker productivity? . . . Could it possibly have anything to do with the LORD’S day?!?!?! . . . Judges? . . DING DING DING DING DING, we have a winner!!!! Law rooted in Judeo/Christian Tradition!!!!!
            Let’s continue, shall we?
And you mentioned a Florida State law (however incorrectly) . . . Au contraire mon derrière!
I refer you back very specifically to the word “unnatural” and the biblical reference (Judeo/Christian tradition as moral/ethical underpinnings of US Federal & State Laws established . . . Well centuries ago actually, but for the benefit of some with selective memory disorders, see above) I’d say it’s like taking candy from a baby, but that would be an insult to babies! (Well those lucky enough to escape the war zone that is the uterus, but again, I digress!). Where was I, OH YES . . . Secession. WOW! . . . REALLY!! . . . If I have to spell it out for you then I gave you WAY too much credit!

Finally, In 7 years of Post-Graduate level Theological studies I have come to accept 2 irrefutable truths:

            1. There IS a God!
            &

I keep those two things straight(seriously, no pun intended) and everything else in life just falls into place!

            Peace!

          • Rick Hall

That’s odd. I can buy a car here in Texas on a Sunday. I guess it’s just MN that is backwards. It is not against the law to kiss someone in public nor is it unnatural. ( It may to you, but that’s just you.)If y ou refer to YOUR original post, you were the one that it is against Florida law, which Florida does state that kissing is illegal either.
For someone who claims to have seven years of post- graduate studies-oh theological studies!- never mind, that explains it. I thought you meant a real degree. Never mind. And you were also the one who brought up about your not knowing that Florida had seceded.

          • John Finnerty

Rick, I am SO sorry, I owe you multiple apologies!
1st I apologize for operating under the SORELY mistaken assumption that I was debating an adult!
In re-reading your earlier posts you asked me what school I attended, you meant middle school, in hopes that I was . . . Never mind!
            Apology #2:
What you just read is what we adults like to refer to as #Sarcasm! Going forward I will be sure to preface all such remarks with the hashtag#SarcasmAlert!
            Apology#3:
Having a middle school age child at home, I assumed you knew how to look up word definitions yourself, and understood the concept of context, my 13 year old does, but since your mommy is still doing this for you, I will try to remember to have patience with you now, as I had to with my son when I first taught him to utilize resources to assist him with the development of independence and critical thinking skills!
            OK
1st, Rick, you’re going to need a book called a Dictionary, if you do not have one, there is this new thing, it’s called Google, and you’ll find Google right here on the Algore (SIC) invented interweb.
Nowthen, after you have looked up the word “Unnatural” you will likely also need to look up the word “Context” . . .got it? . . .good!
Now that you understand the meaning of the words “Unnatural” & “Context” let’s move along to the next resource which will assist you with understanding the “Context” of the word “Unnatural” as it applies to this particular Statute of FL state law 800.02, for that you will need a book called the Bible, which is actually a collection of books and letters . . . What’s that? . . . No Bible? . . . NO PROBLEM! Just go back to Algore’s (SIC) interweb, and, that’s right, GOOGLE:
St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans, Chapter 1, Verses 26 through 28, there is where you will find the word “Unnatural” in the “Context” of the Statute!

You know, Greg, the 7 years of Post-Graduate Theological Studies were a labor of LOVE!

I actually make my living in the arena of Behavioral Analysis, I spend the majority of my time in Observational Analytics of young adults on the Autism Spectrum, . . . You know, looking back over your writing, I’m detecting some perseverative patterning, and supplanting of actual reality with thatbofbyour own, perhaps I could refer you to a colleague of mine in your area for a diagnosis?

            GAME, SET, & MATCH!

            Good bye!,

            Good Luck!

            &

            GOD BLESS!

          • Rick Hall

All that verbiage! All I need to reiterate is that even if your bible says something is unnatural, does not mean that that translates into American law. (You, like most on the right are handy with the ready put-downs. It that makes you feel better about yourself, then have at it. No skin off my back!)

“Unnatural act is a legal term used for certain sexual acts which
including anal sex, oral sex, other non procreative sexual practices,
incest, or procreative sexual acts in the wrong position or without
procreative intent. Unnatural acts include sodomy, bestiality and
necrophilia.” It says nothing about public kissing. This is from U. S. Legal Definitions.com.

I think I’ll go to CFA and take some pix of MASSIVE counter protest. …… I’ll post pix later its a bit of a drive none close to me

  • http://www.urbangrounds.com/ Robbie C

My boy and I went to Chick-Fil-A at noon today (in Lakeway, TX) to particpate in the “kiss-in”. I gave him a big fat smooch right in the middle of the restaurant. Not only did I not get thrown out, the manager offered to take our picture for us:

  • LM Shed

Let’s just hope that this is how it’s going to be at the voting booths in November… A barrage of freedom loving Americans and a sprinkling of looney liberals.

  • CPBinDC

Considering homosexuals are less than 4% of the general population, there are just too many CFA’s to make an impressive protest….but camera angles may go a long way.

    • Rick Hall

That’s 12 million gay people in the United Stated. Sounds like more than enough.

      • Sheik Yur Bouty

Uh, and 75% of those live in your big blue cities… Try again.

        • Rick Hall

          and 25% don’t.

          • Sheik Yur Bouty

OK, and of that 3 Million remaining, what % a) are activist enough to care, b) don’t already have something else planned on Friday night, or c) hate Christians enough to drop everything else in their lives to go participate. I’d guess 2-3% on the HIGH side. That MAYBE gives you 90K gays to cover >1600 CFA’s, and that’s assuming perfectly even geographic distribution.

Do you really think that’s likely???

          • Rick Hall

What’s your point? We still are not going to spend our money there. And we have gotten great free press for our cause. It’s not all about numbers. We are, after all, a minority. As you pointed out.

          • Rick Strickland

The free press you have received has not been favorable for your cause. In my eyes it has shown that the homosexuals are more intolerant of differing opinions than the Christians.

          • Rick Hall

It shows what we are fighting for. Equal rights as citizens of the United States. And to point out that Cathy is donating millions to organizations that are fighting to keep us from having those rights. And it shows that we are not going to take it just lying down. We are willing to fight for our rights.

          • Tyke

@facebook-100000139441057:disqus I always assure people that conservative Christians are not as mean and awful as the media makes them look, but some of the people here seem proud of being so -_-
We’ll be OK, though. The US is experiencing a great seachange.

          • OurYoungFamily

Although I do not agree with the marriage (I do think this civil unions should have rights with taxes, will ect.) I must say Christian Conservatives for the most part are not mean. We have beliefs but we all sin and should pray for and love others. I believe samesex… is a sin but don’t think we should be mean. That said I don’t think we should be hated for standing up for our beliefs ethier.

          • Tyke

If you can stand up for your beliefs without name-calling or being jerks (like some of the comments in this thread), I have no problem with it and I have a major problem with anyone who says otherwise or tries to prevent you from doing so. I am a conservative Christian my own self.

          • vphilly

Oh yea I know! Yesterday’s turnout has me quaking in my boots! Oh wait…

          • Rick Hall

Yes, you are right Tyke. on all counts.

          • David Sheeks

Marriage was designed by God. It was His plan for one man and one woman. You’re fighting for a right that you don’t have and never did.

          • Rick Hall

We already have that right in six states and Washington D. C. God did not design marriage. That is your belief, not everyone’s.

          • http://twitter.com/TundraThunder Ron Waid Sr

            1) You have equal citizens’ rights; 2) Where’s proof of those donations; and 3) You can also have it standing, or sitting just like us heterosexuals.

“And we have gotten great free press for our cause. ”

Must be because you guys are so oppressed in this country that you have to protest it when a guy answers a question about his support for traditional marriage with “guilty as charged” and says nothing about homosexuals or gay rights, huh?

          • Rick Hall

By supporting traditional marriage, he is also saying that he does not support gay marriage, a right that gays are fighting for. And what we are actually protesting is his donating millions of dollars to organizations that are actively fighting gay rights.

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/RFQCNQZWFAFRSVP2MIHPXUM4SY Mr

You are less than 3% of the population and our laws are decided by the people. When you make marriage a zero sum game, you will lose.

          • Rick Hall

By supporting traditional marriage, he is also saying that he does not support gay marriage, a right that gays are fighting for. And what we are actually protesting is his donating millions of dollars to organizations that are actively fighting gay rights.

          • vphilly

Great! Don’t spend your money there. As you can see from Wednesday’s turnout, we’ll make up the difference a thousandfold. I understand CFA set some kind of sales record that day. So basically, your money won’t be missed.

      • Robbie Robel

Sounds a bit exaggerated. There’s less than 1 million people interested in marrying someone of the same sex.

        • Rick Hall

We are not just fighting for our equal rights, but everyone’s. Unlike some people I know.

      • http://owsusefulidiots.blogspot.com/ Truth Has No Agenda

      • vphilly

Went to Chick-Fil-A today. Saw no kiss-in. It was raining so drive-in was too long. I decided to to inside the store. As I was getting out of my, I was met by a Chick-Fil-a employee who held an umbrella over me and escorted me into the store.

    • Rick Hall

      The kiss-in doesn’t start until 7:00 PM.

      • vphilly

I don’t think it ever really started at all. Love it!

  • digitalPimple

Funny that it now starts at 6pm… but the press was all over it half the day!?!? Looks to me like turn out didn’t happen so now the gay groups need time to rally as many as possible. Too late.

    • Rick Hall

We had it scheduled for 7:00PM about a week ago. The press always jumps the gun.

      • CindyLyn4

Jesus Rick. Why are you here? I have read this entire thread and it’s as if you feel compelled to defend gays and their ‘events’. I don’t care if you are gay, but you people are like a gnat that keeps buzzing your face, and it just won’t go away. Give it a rest. WE know when the stupid-in is. It’s your right, but it feels very pathetic to me. Another desperate attempt to get attention, nothing more.Thankfully, you ARE a minority.

      • Sheik Yur Bouty

If there’s one thing we can all count on, it’s the press getting details wrong.

Your seeming intolerance of our right to support the free speech of the Cathy family is hypocritical as you then ask us to tolerate your right to marry, a right that is NOT constitutionally guaranteed or enumerated anywhere in our founding documents. Our right to support traditional marriage as the union of one man and one woman should be just as tolerated by you as you expect us to be tolerant of the ongoing, losing effort of the same-sex community to legalize same-sex ‘marriage’. Tolerance works both ways.

In these tough economic times, for a group of people that represents, statistically speaking 4%,( I’ll be generous with 8%) of the entire U.S. population, the call for a boycott of a business that employs tax paying folks from all walks of life; for that same group to think that putting a private business out of business will further their social cause shows they are willing to harms tens of thousands of fellow citizens in the name of their own intolerance of an opposing viewpoint.

Furthermore, could you point out specifically which organization(s) the Cathy family donates to that OPPOSE same-sex marriage in their mission statements? You seem to ‘read’ that into their causes because they do NOT support same-sex marriage. They donate to causes that support traditional marriage. We are not AGAINST you, we are FOR what we believe in. If you take that as being against you, then that is your problem.

One voices their support for same-sex marriage yet are never labeled a heterophobe. Yet when we voice our support for traditional marriage we are immediately labeled a homophobe. Odd, huh?

We will never apologize for OUR strongly held values, morals, beliefs and faith. We will not be bullied into changing our values, morals, beliefs and faith to suit others.

      Equality Matters released
information on Chick-Fil-A’s $2 million in donations in 2010 to
anti-gay and anti-gay marriage organizations in the United States. It is
important to note that all of the organizations referenced have taken
an active role toward the discrimination of gays and lesbians.

Exodus International, National Christian Foundation, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Family Research Council, Marriage and Family Foundation, and Georgia Family Council

The largest donation of over $1 million was reported to have gone to
Marriage and Family Foundation (focused on fighting against gay
      marriage).

We are not asking to change your beliefs. We just want you to stop trying to force US (and everyone else) to live under your beliefs.

Many LGBT people opposed the CFA kiss-in as too potentially dangerous. Some tweets were passed around which vowed to “run down any queers” seen protesting. Not to mention that Christians tend to carry guns. Some people didn’t want to risk being murdered over chicken sandwiches.

It seems that if the adults are consenting, then they should be allowed to do what they want without anyone dictating their beliefs. Right? Ok. What about 3 consenting adults? Can they get married too? What about 5 guys and 3 women? If they’re all consenting, doesn’t that meet the standard? I mean according to the left, nobody can tell you what you can and cannot do. So what about 4 guys and and an adult goat? Oh wait, goats can’t rationalize unnatural behavior and give their consent. Only humans can do that. Lame argument. Why is so hard for you people to understand. When two consenting adults are in love they should be able to get married. Why are you so threatened by two gay people marrying. Are you so afraid that your own marriage won’t stand up to ours? What is it, I ask honestly?

SUGGESTION: If you find yourself at a Chick-fil-a and a couple gays start kissing like they’re threatening to do, try this:
EVERY married couple or even every couple in love should ALSO IMMEDIATELY stand up and kiss. Hide them in the crowd and drown the little brats out.

CFA Appreciation Day may have been covered by local/affiliate stations, but the big networks (CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS) did not cover it. They did, however, promote the Kiss-In and try to make it bigger than it was.
The Kiss-In was ridiculous anyway … all it did was reinforce every stereotype ever thought about the homosexual community. Look at what pictures there were, they didn’t look like regular people, for the most part they looked like freaks. They didn’t try to comport themselves with dignity, they made themselves up like silly characters, acting out like petulant children.
Had they really wanted to make the “family values” people who showed up for CFA Day look small, they should have come and supported Chick-fil-A too, saying as Patrick Henry, I may not agree with what you say, but I support your right to say it. Or, if the homosexual community in their outrage were SERIOUS about their “cause,” and wanted to show they are good supportive citizens, why wasn’t their MAIN protest to support those businesses (like Starbucks) who are supportive of the homosexual “cause.”? I know there’s one now (Starbucks Appreciation Day), but why wasn’t that the first, the main protest planned? This would say they support working people, help the economy, make a positive statement.
And as for the numbers for the protest, how is it they can show up in droves for “Gay Pride” parades and events, but they couldn’t show up for their silly Kiss-In?
