Boom!

Even as Chicago, Boston and now other cities are trying to shut out Chick-fil-A for not toeing a leftist line, citizens are supporting free speech and opposing tolerance tyrants.

And it is not just ShePAC co-chair Teri Christoph’s local Chick-fil-A, either. The Twittersphere is weighing in and they love them some Chick-fil-A. Conan O’Brien thinks the entire Chick-fil-A controversy is cuckoo pants.

Screenwriter Kevin Williamson claims he supports the boycott, as a good little Hollywood liberal should do, but even he can’t resist the siren call of Chick-fil-A.

Of course, Chick-fil-As are closed on Sundays. They are not, however, closed today and Twitter users are reporting from the oh-so-controversial battle zone! The boycott? The Left is totally doing it wrong.

How come the left never went this crazy when Ben and Jerry’s supported Cop-Killer Mumia?

Wrong. I am a liberal. Not necessarily a democrat. I vote the person, not the party. But I do not support rape, murder, pedophile, fraud, bribes, lies, illegals, handouts or breaking the law. I’m sick of you accusing me of supporting these things. Especially when it’s the other way around.

Cuz the left doesn’t like cops/military due to the majority of military personnel being conservative, they only give lip service to us because they want all that union money!

  • MovingToNevada

Yep, the boycott worked…in bringing more customers to Chick-fil-a. Bad press is good press.

    • Rick Hall

Rather or not the boycott works, I will not spend my money there and allow it to be used against keeping rights from a group of people. His contributions to organizations that fight against gay rights are an abomination. (That’s one of you people’s favorite words, isn’t it?)

      • MovingToNevada

You obviously haven’t read the 1st amendment. Please go back and read it. You have the freedom to spend your money anywhere you wish, and that includes donating money to any cause you wish. Just like the CEO of CFA. But I’m sure probably have never visited the restaurant, so why do you really care?

        • http://www.facebook.com/rick.hall.31 Rick Hall

I care because the organizations that he donates money to is trying to .keep me from having equal rights that I am due according to the 14th amendment. And yes I have, in the past, visited Chick Fil A. Never again though.

          • MovingToNevada

Complain to your legislator, not some chicken shop.

          • Rick Hall

I’m not complaining. I’m just not going to support them with my money.

          • MovingToNevada

That’s fine, but let me ask you this…Amazon.com just pledged $2.5 million for a pro-gay-marriage cause. Where is the outrage and boycotts and unhinged attitude coming from the right? I don’t see anyone freaking out over that. And you know what’s the difference between you and me? I won’t boycott a company if they disagree with my values, regardless of what that may be. I don’t believe in attempting to punish a business, because the only people it “may” punish are those that work there…and that is why boycotts rarely (if ever) work.

          • Rick Hall

I’m not trying to punish a company. I’m just not going to spend my money there and then have that company turn around and give my money to organizations that are trying to take way my rights. When Amazon contributes to gay marriage, they are not taking away anyone’s rights. If they people who work at Chick Fil A get hurt then maybe Cathy should consider rethinking his actions because ultimately he is the one who would be hurting his own employees. You cannot expect people to continue to hand over their money to a business that in turn that tries to hurt them.

          • MovingToNevada

I expect people to freely spend their money as they wish.

If 100% of the population is not in agreement with you, they are taking away your “rights”? But if Amazon.com contributes to gay marriage, that’s OK? Not everyone in this country agrees that gays should be married (including Obama – who suddenly, in a desperate play for much needed cash, changed his stance), so that would go against their religious beliefs.

So what you’re basically saying that if workers get hurt by these so-called “boycotts” (which past history shows they mostly fall flat), then the CEO needs to change his beliefs? Sorry, but please go back and read the 1st amendment – this country has the freedom to practice their religion, whatever that may be.

However, the government can’t tell a business if they can open up shop based on the owner’s beliefs. CFA is not practicing discrimination, so these mayors are making a huge (and illegal) mistake.

And you need to honor their beliefs as well, otherwise that makes you pretty intolerant. The business itself isn’t hurting anyone. Like I said before…if you have a problem with your state or the feds not honoring gay marriage, then complain to them. After all, it was Clinton who signed the DOMA act…

          • Rick Hall

A person can believe whatever they as long is it doesn’t hurt anyone else. First it’s a lot less than 100% of the population that is not is agreement with me. I never mentioned anything about the government telling a business it can’t open based on their beliefs. You are putting words in my mouth. Whenever an organization tries to limit freedom because they don’t believe it’s right ( usually based on an outdated fictional book called the bible) then intolerance is the word that is used. Again, I will not support this company with my money. It goes against MY beliefs. Sorry if any of the employees get hurt in the process.

          • MovingToNevada

Let me put this in a simpler way…the militant (and bigoted) approach is not going to win the hearts and minds of the public.

          • Rick Hall

Sometimes you have to fight for what you believe in. How do you think America gained freedom from the British. It’s the American way. Just because the majority ( which is getting less and less every year) thinks something is he way things should be does not necessarily mean it is right. Our history has shown that to be true over and over.

          • joe

Your battle to be included in something that doesn’t want you is ignorant and pointless. Your fighting to be thought of the exact same as anyone else but even if you get the government to recognize your marriage you will never get the people who are against it today to recognize it. So now you are trying to bully people into believing what you believe. Weren’t you supposed to be against bullying?

          • http://www.facebook.com/rick.hall.31 Rick Hall

Whether that something wants me or not is irrelevant. I don’t need the people who are against it to recognize it, just the government.

          • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

what “right” is that exactly? Where do you get this right?

          • http://www.facebook.com/rick.hall.31 Rick Hall

The right to marry whom I love ( another consenting adult before you start your crazy arguments about my marrying a child or a dag or two or more people.) Read the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution carefully. That is where I get this right.

          • Tamara Hatley

            Yay…Adios!

          • Rick Hall

            Don’t worry. I’m still here.

          • Jeff Myers

But, Jesus also instructed His disciples, “do not resist an evil person, but pray for those who despitefully use you”. So, have at it. If you want to marry, go ahead, but it will only lead to your demise. Not hatin’, just sayin’.

          • http://www.facebook.com/rick.hall.31 Rick Hall

No everyone believes in your fairy tales .Sorry.

          • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

But why do you even worry about it, or care about it? Why do you try to stop it, prevent it from happening? Why do you support a corporation who runs off hate and supports other organizations who demonstrate hatred and intolerance?

          • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

You have the same rights as everyone else. What you want to do is change the definition of marriage and get special privileges for yourself and your ilk.

          • http://www.facebook.com/rick.hall.31 Rick Hall

I do not have the right to marry the person I love just because they happen to be the same sex as I am. I don’t want “special privileges.” I want equal rights. You people keep repeating the same invalid arguments thinking that if you say them enough times that they must be true.

          • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

They seem to think that the “beef” we have against CFA is that we’re trying to stop them from their religious beliefs and freedom of speech, when that’s not it at all…..it’s that they have used CORPORATE funds, funds they made from patrons of their establishments, to fund hate groups, groups who are trying to keep equal rights away from the LGBT community, who use lies and hate speech to further their goals. We could care less if the company is run with “Christian” values. It would be great if that were true, because I see no “Christian” values in supporting hate groups, who are trying to silence a minority group in our country, who are trying to keep EQUAL rights from a minority group in our country. They are ugly and hateful hypocrites who must be stopped. But their “supporters” will continue to be lied to, and continue to expand their waist bands by supporting this company by eating their unhealthy food even more now in “support”. Nothing but a bunch of lied to lemmings, who are remaining ignorant and believe the crap they are fed. Crap that is just as bad for them as the food is they are being served. Sad and pathetic.

          • Rick Hall

Well said Heather!! They keep ignoring that because it doesn’t fit in with their tired arguments. The truth rarely does. And yes it is sad and pathetic.

        • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

But is it morally right to take money from people who could be gay and use that money to support groups who HATE gays, and who are trying to take away their rights? It may be legal, but is it right?

          • MovingToNevada

Sorry chickie, but the CEO never said he hated gays. He supports traditional marriage. Being a supporter of that doesn’t mean you “hate” gays. Nice attempt at twisting words around. And up until Obama needed some cash from the gay community, he also supported marriage between a man and a woman. If you don’t like CFA, then go somewhere else. If you don’t like DOMA, blame Bill Clinton, or take action with your legislators. The only hate I see going on around here is from people like you.

          • Rick Hall

What you people can’t seem to understand is that Cathy and Chick Fil A have contributed millions of dollars to organizations that are fighting against gay rights on every level.

          • MovingToNevada

And what you people can’t seem to understand is that it’s a free country to exercise free speech and religion (you know, that thing you call fiction, but we won’t let your previous bigoted comments get in the way).

Like I said before, complain to your legislators, but don’t expect the entire nation to toe the line with gay marriage. A lot of people, including the president up until he needed money from the rich gay community disagreed with you. I’m sure at some point this will be settled by the supreme court.

          • Rick Hall

The right to free speech and religion is guaranteed, but not when it infringes on the rights of others. The millions of dollars that Cathy is donating to anti-gay hate groups is doing just that.

          • MovingToNevada

Cathy is a private citizen. He is not infringing on anyone’s alleged “rights”. Being for traditional marriage is not hate. So stop shoving your agenda down everyone’s throats. You obviously have no respect for someone else’s point of view or beliefs. The majority of the world agrees. By the way, did you stop using gasoline too? Because considering where the majority of oil comes from, such as the Arab states, they persecute and execute gays.

          • Rick Hall

His being for traditional marriage is not the issue. Do you ever actually read anything? It’s about Cathy’s contributing millions of dollars to organizations that actively try to take away the rights and freedoms of a group of Americans, primarily gay people.

          • MovingToNevada

How can anyone contribute to something being taken away when you never had it in the first place? All he’s doing is wanting PRESERVING traditional marriage. Get over it. This is not a “rights” issue, nor it is a “freedom” issue when it comes to gay marriage. DOMA was signed into Federal law, and until you can attempt to get that reversed, attacking some guy who runs a chicken shop isn’t going to get you anywhere. So, how is Obama coming along with his reversal of DOMA, anyway?

          • Rick Hall

Actually, there are already six states and Washington, D.C. that allow gay marriage. Cathy’s organizations that he donates to would like that to go away. We are fighting for our right for the freedom to get married. So, yes it a rights and freedom issue.

          • Grandma HeadInjury

I don’t know. Ask Amazon.com who takes my money and supports gay causes. I’d ask them, but I am not so bigoted as to care. Someday you kids will grow up and act the same…

          • Rick Hall

There is a difference. Amazon is not trying to take away anyone’s rights. The organizations that Cathy supports are.

          • Grandma HeadInjury

Are you that dim? Look, you can apply your “logic” to CFA as well. Just because they support traditional marriage, they aren’t automatically trying to take away anyone’s rights. That would make as much sense as me going on to argue that Amazon wants to take away my heterosexual rights.

Seriously, the straws you are grasping at are astounding…and sad.

          • Rick Hall

Maybe not “automatically,” but, yes, by contributing millions to organizations that are they are, in effect, trying to take away gay people’s rights. Not that I expect you to be able to see the obvious connection.

          • Grandma HeadInjury

Grasp at enough straws and you should be able to build a straw man…oh wait! You already did….

      • MovingToNevada

      • Jeff Myers

Sorry, but homosexuality IS the abomination. God does not condemn someone for despising an abomination. Organizations that fight against gay rights could not possibly an abomination.

        • Rick Hall

You need a new dictionary. Yes, to fair minded people organizations that fight against gay right can be and are an abomination.

        • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

Yes they can, for being hateful and hypocritical. And for lying to the public. Wouldn’t all that money they waste on other hate groups be better used to help people find work, education, outreach programs, supplying food for those who need it? There are so many better organizations who run under the “Christian” banner who actually HELP our fellow Americans, and beyond. The ones they fund are not any of those organizations. Quite sad and pathetic. They claim to be “Christian” but then spit in the face of what Christianity truly stands for.

        • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

Didn’t even know about Chick-fil-A chain, so looked one up in my CA hometown. Driving extra 10 miles just to check it out, and support them against the fascists of course.

Wasn’t Obama himself against boys marrying boys and girls marrying girls just last month? Or is this also about making sandwiches out of once-living chickens. Libs are weird…and emotionally conflicted in any case.

UPDATE: Went to my first Chick-Fil-A today. Line too long in drive-thru so found a parking spot and went inside. Pretty busy inside too, but it claims Fast Food, and it was just as fast as McDonalds/BurgerKings I’ve been too. Other impressive thing was this ain’t your paltry flat chicken sandwich you get at other fast food places. What a hunk of crispy chicken breast I was served. Cole Slaw was great too, and finished it off with a soft-serve ice cream cone. I’ll be back.

Awesome! MM you deserve a great big HUG :)

  • J.Milliscone

The Boycott worked so far as those cities will not have this company in them. I never thought it would have much success in the south since it’s a more religious area. There’s nothing wrong with exorcising one’s beliefs with their cash.

It would be like if conservatives stopped buying Oreos because they (Oreo) support marriage equality

    • http://twitter.com/Vanakatherock Vanakatherock

Technically, the boycott’s cities are making about not having the company in their city is a violation of the Constitution and wouldn’t stand a chance in court. Note that those cities are now back tracking on their initial claims.

      • The Monster

Just the public comments by these officials suggesting that they’d deny building permits etc. due to a religious/political belief is such blatant 1st Amendment violation that even the ACLU (fans of gay marriage) cries foul. Can you say “chilling effect”?

      • J.Milliscone

That is very true. Though, like with any political move, I’m sure they will find a way to delay, overlook, or restart the approval processes or something else to basically block them (chick-fil-a) from entering the cities in question.

        • http://twitter.com/Vanakatherock Vanakatherock

Yeah, they already are digging up some other trumped up excuses.

          • J.Milliscone

            Typical government BS for sure

    • celsma

Funny thing, CFA picks something like 80 out of 10,000 applications per year for new franchises. That’s gotta make Libby mad! (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151960042210646&set=a.10151960042205646.882480.662825645&type=1&theater) haha.

Can you explain to me how using ones money in a free market is Marxist. I’m not too familiar with that specific political ideology

      • J.Milliscone

“The goal is simple: Let’s affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the Godly values we espouse by simply showing up and eating at Chick Fil-A on Wednesday, August 1,” wrote Huckabee, a former pastor.

That quote goes against your assertion.

    • QuarksBar

The Boycott has not worked even in those cities. Your wrong-go away.

      • J.Milliscone

        That’s a very substantive response.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_CGWXIQ42S6FEVSNJQMAQTT7GBA Michael

Or because a company felt it needs to market an intolerant group of heterophobes. I’d do the same if they were marketing to the new Black Panthers or the KKK. As you say, libturd, there’s nothing wrong with exorcising one’s beliefs with their cash.

You are foolish if you think that government sponsored discrimination of CFA will ever stand up in court. That Bill of Rights thing goes both ways.

      • J.Milliscone

I don’t think I said that. In fact I already made a comment about that (cities discrimination and it holding up in court) specifically.

On a side note, I’m more a libertarian than anything, so you insults only show lack of substance, understanding and respect. People like you, who lack candor, are what’s wrong with our country.

I had a Spicy Chicken combo with chicken noodle soup and a fresh squeezed lemonade. Everything was awesome and I didn’t have to wait very long to get around to order. @Nurse56 you see, this is about that group’s sexual proclivities and nothing more! This is an in your face bunch that the president has given cart blanch to act out with his blessings!!! They think that they are a special group set apart by their King Barack, and that we should bow to their will! How can they expect respect if they do not give respect! Are they the only ones allowed to have an opinion here?? That same Constitution that gives them the right to hate christians, gives us the right to love our Lord and speak what we believe, last time I checked, this is America Jack!!

          • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

How can you and other and the people for Chick-fil-A expect respect when you don’t give any? IT WORKS BOTH WAYS. Why should the LGBT community be gagged, their right to protest or demonstrate peacefully, and their right to free speech also be taken from them because people like you don’t like it? It’s funny how hypocritical you and people like you are. No one is trying to stop you from being a Christian, or even stop CFA from being a “Christian” organization. But they are using corporate funds, money that is received from paying customers and sponsors (The Hensons?) and used to give organizations that are essentially hate groups, hell bent on taking away rights from the LGBT community, the groups that tell the LGBT community that they’re wrong, that they’re not welcome, that they are evil and controlled by the devil or something. So NOT a Christian attitude to have. No one is trying to take away your voice nor your opinion. We are just speaking out against companies that are taking money and giving it to these hate groups. And by doing so, we are doing what we are allowed to do….the last time I checked, this is America, and isn’t run by a Christian regimen.

          • Rick Hall

            Thank you Rick Hall

          • FDavis847

So, if, as you claim “no one is trying to stop you from being a
Christian or even stop CFA from being a “Christian” organization, but that the real issue is “corporate money” being used in support of a political view, then what’s your stand on Amazon?

Jeff Bezos is giving 2.5 million to the supporters of
gay marriage in Washington State? Where do you think that money came from? Could it be that it was from customers, including those who oppose gay marriage?

Seems to me that before you make claims that anyone is trying to gag or silence the LGBT community, you might want to take a look at the well-documented behavior of gay activists after they lost the Prop 8 vote in California.

You know, like harassing donors? Death threats?

From the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/08/business/08stream.html

“FOR the backers of Proposition 8, the state ballot measure to stop single-sex couples from marrying in California, victory has been soured by the ugly specter of intimidation.

Some donors to groups supporting the measure have received death
threats and envelopes containing a powdery white substance, and their
            businesses have been boycotted. ”

            Intimidation. Boycotts.

I would suggest you consider the behavior of YOUR compatriots before tossing out wild accusations.

          • Rick Hall

The difference is that Christians are fighting against people having rights. The LGBT community (and Amazon) are trying to allow everyone to have equal rights, They are not trying to take away anyone’s rights.

          • FDavis847

So you’re good with harassing people, trying to destroy their careers because they disagree with your opinion. Got it

      • http://twitter.com/Whygetmad America Is Beautiful

@Joe you are so right, we have to take a stand against this kind of tyranny against religious and moral beliefs! This is what our country was built upon, the right to speak and not be vilified for that speech! Why are they so offended when we mention anything about God or The Book! We as christians do not tar and feather them because they don’t believe! Is society only to be civil to their whims? I think not! Christians arise and put your armor on! Stand up and fight to keep our God given rights to free speech! America is beautiful. Support any business that is bringing jobs to our great cities, that is more than the president is doing! God bless!!

        • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

“This is what our country was built upon, the right to speak and not be vilified for that speech!” Then why are you trying to vilify the LGBT for what they are trying to say? Why are you trying to take away their rights and silence them? IT WORKS BOTH WAYS.

          • FDavis847

Pardon me? Who is trying to intimidate others into silence? This CFA “boycott” has a familiar ring…I wonder why?

From the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02

“FOR the backers of Proposition 8, the state ballot measure to stop
single-sex couples from marrying in California, victory has been soured

      • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

CFA is attacking others religious and moral beliefs. They are, in a sense, saying believe only as we do, instead of supporting the freedom of religion and right to free speech. No one is trying to take away their religious rights or rights to free speech. But they are using corporate money to support hate groups, groups who try to take away others rights. Do you know they have fired women to make them stay at home mom’s? That’s ridiculous. They are doing themselves no favors, and making our already obese country more obese by trying to bank in on this madness and stuff your mouths full of their unhealthy, fat and sodium filled junk. Shame on them. And shame on you for ignorantly following them and believing all the crap they spew. How sad you can’t think for yourself.

        • spiffville1

how is simply disagreeing on the definition of marriage considered hate speech? That’s just BS. Shame on YOU for ignorantly following whatever lefty cause of the day you want to spew

          • Rick Hall

The groups he donates his company’s money to are well-known hate groups in America. This is a well-documented fact. Do a little honest research before you start spouting off your opinion.

        • Grandma HeadInjury

There was no hate speech. There was a statement of opinion. If the CEO of CFA said his favorite color was blue, I wouldn’t find everyone else that likes green and organize a boycott. Why? Because he is allowed to have an opinion. He didn’t say they were going to screen for homosexuality before giving someone a job (or a sandwich). He just stated an opinion.

His own. Heather should try that….

          • Rick Hall

We are getting tired of repeating over and over that this has nothing to do with Cathy stating his opinion. It was everything to do with his donating millions of dollars to organizations that actively are trying to stop a group of Americans from having equal rights and even supporting Uganda in their campaign to actually kill people just for being gay. Open your eyes and do a little research before you reveal your ignorance for all the world to see.

          • Grandma HeadInjury

We? Got a mouse in your pocket? Where were “you guys” before Cathy made his statement? Strangely silent. Now you have a limping bandwagon to jump on, and ….well…yawnnnnnn.

I believe God has blessed Chic-Fil-A from it’s inception, because they hold very high and Godly standards, along with the fact that they are diametrically opposed to doing business on Sunday. (Little known fact: If Chick-Fil-A is located inside a mall, they actually have to pay a “fine” to the mall in order to be closed on Sundays.)

        • BurtMichaels

I think “God” is shacking his head in shame over how the leaders of Chick-fil-A are acting and treating others. Even firing women in order to force them to be stay at home mom’s. Isn’t that going beyond their rights, infringing on the rights of others? Hmmmm……..

Today was family fun Chick-Fil-A day ad they supplied over 500 people with free chicken sandwiches. We have 5 Chick-Fil-A’s in the area and they worked together to help out the camp starting each morning by supplying breakfast to the 60+ staffers and volunteers. Winshape is not a 100% non-profit organization:
      Private Operating Foundations

In general, a private operating foundation is a private foundation that devotes most of its resources to the active conduct of its exempt activities.

A private foundation may qualify for treatment as a private operating
foundation. These foundations generally are still subject to the tax on net investment income and to the other requirements and restrictions that generally apply to private foundation activity. However, operating foundations are not subject to the excise tax on failure to distribute income.
Also, contributions to private operating foundations described in
Internal Revenue Code section 4942(j)(3) are deductible by the donors to
the extent of 50 percent of the donor’s adjusted gross income, whereas
contributions to all other private foundations (except those discussed
      under Private Pass-through Foundation )
are generally limited to 30 percent of the donor’s adjusted gross
income. In addition, a private operating foundation may receive
qualifying distributions from a private foundation if the private
      foundation does not control it.
      Also:
WinShape Is Chick-Fil-A’s Charitable Arm. The WinShape
Foundation is Chick-fil-A’s charitable arm, created by Chick-fil-A
founder and chairman S. Truett Cathy in 1984. WinShape has received a
substantial amount of funding from Chick-fil-A: in 2010 alone, WinShape
      received $8,067,161 from Chick-fil-A Inc.

Please do your research before you claim that a camp runs entirely on it’s own funds. I can’t find what other sources it may be receiving grants or money from, but I’m sure there are others. Also, they are not 100% tax exempt. Only 50%. And they are also a hate group, supporting keeping equal rights from the LGBT by defining for themselves, using only their “Christian” values, what marriage should or should not be. I WOULD never send my children to a camp that discriminates against a minority group as this organization does. Shame on you for wanting to also brainwash your children and turn them into the lemmings you have become.

  • Sheena Hill

Yeah, look at all the gas-guzzlers in line for Chick-fil-a. No need to tell anyone it’s a bunch of uptight conservatives making a point to show how wrong gay marriage is while hacking away at the well-being of our environment. Impressive.

    • James Atkins

      HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

      weak.

    • QuarksBar

Go peddle your bike off a pier.

    • Owen007

Nowhere near as bad as the loudmouth, immature liberal buffoons that for some reason think “freedom of speech” only applies to them and never practice what they preach about the environment. Odds are the “gas-guzzlers” are quite tolerant of dissenting opinions and actually clean up after themselves – two concepts known to be foreign to liberal pinheads.

    • http://twitter.com/DeanMooreJr Dean Moore

looking at the pictures, I see no less than four ULEV vehicles. Sorry, looks like conservatives pick clean vehicles to me. know your cars…

    • TomJB

I’m sure you have no problem with the probability that some of those so called “gas-guzzlers” are insured by Progressive Insurance and thus some of their premiums make it to moveon.org…

I bet you consider yourself “pro-choice” as well. I used the quotation marks because you obviously aren’t otherwise you would feel people have to right to choose whatever vehicle they choose to drive, eat where they choose to eat, and donate their money to whoever they choose to donate.

Impressive? Yeah, you are “impressive” all right.

    • James Atkins

Some of us might not think gay marriage is wrong per se, but what we find wrong is the liberals punishing someone for a thought or a belief. If they were asking customers if they were gay before serving them, then perhaps, just maybe we all would have a problem with that.

    • Rena

And dems never use SUV’s… right?

    • deepindaheart

Are you referring to the black Government ‘undercover’ SUVs?

Shush, don’t tell Obama, Rahm, Eric, et.al., their goons are eating Chick-fil-A.

    • J.N. Ashby

And fat people have larger carbon footprints. Why are you harming our environment?

    • Kevin Miller

It has nothing to do with gay marriage. It has to do with the government trying to punish someone for voicing his opinion. That’s stil legal,I think.

    • Bill Gordon

      What a moronic statement.

  • bb333

IMAGINE Someone agreeing with The Legal Definition of Marriage….ohhhhh…The Horror…….must be HATE……I will now be eating there weekly “Religiously”…ooooh that word burns libs

    • sherri james

there so stupid. we went from keeping it in the closet and most were ashamed to even say they were gay, now there like homo-nazis shoving there agenda down everyones throats (no pun intended). What where u all ashamed of just not so long ago? what were you hiding if it was all peachy and dandy? The trashing of Gods word in order to achieve your agenda only reveals the condition of your soul and everyone else’s. No regard for God only for there fleshly desires. Hatred to God, love of flesh. Have what you want now because if you do not change your ways you will be judged for this sinful life.

      • Rick Hall

We were never ashamed of ourselves. We were being so oppressed by you people that it wasn’t safe for us to be out, You had us convinced that we were less than.We finally decided we had had enough, realized that that was a load of crap and weren’t going to let everyone try to force us not to live our God-given lives.Your references to your precious outdated bible don’t concern us, Sorry dear. By the way, most of believe in God, just not your vindictive and judgmental one.

Way to go, showing the average fundie intelligence. Did you even graduate high school?
It seems you’re doing enough judging now, God won’t need to do any. Unless He judges you for doing His job. Shame on you. You may not be gay, but you are far from sin free. Check on that beam in your eye before commenting on the speck in anothers. It’s in the Bible, in case you wondered where I got that from. But you probably don’t know much about the Bible, if you’ve ever actually even read it. You sound like a “lemming” Christian, who just goes with whatever you’ve been told in your lifetime and believed it, instead of doing your own research and educating yourself. A typical fundie. And being homosexual is not just about the sex part. If that were the case, it would be the same with heterosexuals. Because it is nothing more than a different sexual orientation, who they find desirable.

Why would they want to associate with a group of minorities that they so blatantly hate? This comment just goes to show how intolerant people like you are.

      • Rick Hall

The gay pride parades have committees that approve of who gets to be in the parade. Believe me, Chick Fil a would never make the cut. We do have our standards after all.

      • Delroy_Monjo

Thank you for saying that, Robin. I’m not gay but was thinking exactly the same thing. It requires ‘individuals’ to stand up for what is right and not screaming crowds to deny others their rights.

      • JeanneDC

I would never assume all people are the same, and I respect your beliefs and ideals. I feel bad that you have to even make that clarification. Why cant people just accept one another and not have all this hate?

    • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

Who is trying to force their “way of life” on someone else? Certainly NOT the LGBT community. It would seem that the “Christians” and hate groups that you and CFA support are the ones trying to force their way of life unto others. With money. Money they take from fools like you.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Are you telling me that a large number of people don’t care about one person’s opinion of a social issue that has consistently ranked very low in the public consciousness? Why, that’s… completely to be expected.

I generally support gay marriage, but I also support freedom of speech, so I’m glad to see this. Show the “freedom of speech for me, but not for thee” runts how the real world actually works.

Please show me where ANYONE has tried to take away CFA’s right to free speech away. I’ll gladly wait. The problem is (I can’t believe HOW MANY TIMES I’ve had to clarify this) is that they are taking money from unsuspecting patrons, and using it to fund hate groups, who are in turn trying to keep equal rights from the LGBT community. They can shout from the rooftops “WE HATE GAY PEOPLE” and it really doesn’t matter. But when they use funds from the people to fund hate and anti-gay organizations, well, that’s when they cross the line. The boycott is asking anyone who does not want to financially support these hate groups to stay away from this organization and not give them any kind of money.

1A applies to everyone – as long as they agree with you. The self-loathing progressive liberal mindset is a disease. Americans that are still actually able to think for themselves know this has been blown way out of proportion. An opinion solicited that is free of hate or persecution is no reason to create another pet cause to stir outrage over an injustice that just isn’t there. The mass media and Hollywood, are mostly self-important idiots. I say we boycott them. I would also call for Thomas Menino to step down – his attempt to wield a threat of state action against free enterprise makes it clear he does not have the mettle nor integrity required to be any kind of leader.

    • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

Still able to think for themselves? You can’t be saying that people like you, who are simply parroting what you’ve heard others say about liberals, and/or what you heard your church leader talk about at sunday school, are able to think for yourself, are you? Everything you said in this post sounds just like the BS I’ve heard out of other conservative lemmings say in the past. You didn’t come up with these “opinions” by yourself. You’ve heard them from someone else. I think it’s amazing that you and other project your own behavior onto those you don’t agree with, or are told to not agree with.

  • numbercruncher1

I’m Kosher and I am considering breakin’ the rules just to support these guys. While I have no trouble with a LAWFUL (i.e. you can send e-mails but can’t disrupt operations) boycott of an establishment from private citizens; If Gays don’t want to eat there – that’s their right, and if they feel that strongly they should speak up! I don’t like certain people and hence don’t buy their products.

…BUT when a government entity such as the Mayor of Chicago goes after a private business that’s called tyranny. Government doesn’t have the right to tell a law abiding establishment what it can and cannot do, especially based on the owners political belief (note NYC-Mike Bloomberg has banned legal activities like smoking, salt and 16+ OZ sugar drinks).

Look the owner of Chick-fill could be a neo-nazi/KKK member, and yes that owner may know that I support the boycott of the establishment (wouldn’t protest publicly – waste of time and usually is good for the business). HOWEVER that neo-nazi/KKK owner would also find me display public outrage if the government tried to close them down!

**NOTE THIS IS NOT TO IMPLY THAT THE OWNER HAS ANY ASSOCIATION WITH THE NEFARIOUS GROUPS I MENTIONED ONLY AN ILLUSTRATION!

    • Paul Berger

Okay, here is an article you need to read and address before picking on Chick-fil-a any more. http://dailycaller.com/2012/07/31/black-pastor-accuses-obama-of-condoning-child-rape-by-supporting-gay-marriage/ Here is the response I left for someone else over there. You’re more then welcome to respond:

Then stop protesting “Hate Chicken” and go after the African-American
churches. They’re one of the big obstacles to gay “rights.” Remember the
Prop 8 vote in CA? That was the African Americans that turned out to
vote. And the recent vote in NC was due to a large African American turn
out. When I see a group of gay people on this man’s church steps on
Sunday, then I’ll take gays seriously about their push for marriage.
Until then, their just bulling targets that won’t fight back. Truth be
told, they’re scared witless of religious Blacks, as they should be. 13%
          > 2%

          • Rick Hall

We have to “go after” anyone who against equal rights. What do you think the percentage of homophobic bigots to homosexuals is. It is much greater that 13% to 2 %( actually closer to 3.5%)

          • Cyborg0012

@Rick Hall Yes, but go protest on THIS man’s church’s doorsteps next Sunday and I’ll take all your pearl clutching seriously. Until gays have a vigorous boycott against this AFRICAN AMERICAN MAN, they’re just a DNC joke. (BY THE WAY>>> I hate what he says and happen to be a popular slash writer- I yearn for consistency ) So… go for it Rick! I’m so tired of gays holding whites pastors to an entirely different standard than Black pastors because you’re too chicken to protest African Americans. NC a few months ago and the Prop 8 in CA showed me gays are cowards who only pick on people who won’t fight back. It was the African American community that sunk both those votes. You should be picketing African American churches, the ones who scuttled gay marriage each time. I’ll be waiting for all the great pics when your crowd does; expect no respect until then. READ THIS ARTICLE ALREADY DANMMMMMM…. http://dailycaller.com/2012/07/31/black-pastor-accuses-obama-of-condoning-child-rape-by-supporting-gay-marriage/

          • Rick Hall

We have people working with the African American community. Just because you don’t see picketing their churches does not mean we are afraid of them. Each group has to be approached in what we feel would be the most appropriate way. By the way, we don’t need your respect anyway.

          • Cyborg0012

So, you feel it’s okay to treat on group with mass disrespect, but another you’re ‘working with behind the scenes’? This is called hypocrisy and discrimination.

          • Rick Hall

No, it’s called having a well thought-out campaign to fight for the rights that we deserve as tax-paying American citizens.

          • Cyborg0012

Like threatening us with bombs. So “well thought-out.” http://twitchy.com/2012/08/01/bomb-threat-shuts-down-chick-fil-a-in-west-virginia/ I’d call this pretty intolerant.

          • Rick Hall

That was not part of our campaign.

          • Cyborg0012

Maybe not, but it demonstrates how out of control things have gotten. It’s a pretty horrible act that I don’t hear your side condemning. Not to mention the vandalism this morning. Does someone expressing beliefs deserve this?

Here is some food for thought from a gay person on why this whole thing is a bad idea. Read and think about it: http://nogaymarriage.wordpress.com/

    • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

The Mayor is not being a tyrant…..just saying that they don’t want such a hateful establishment in their city. Such ignorance and hatred should be illegal, including nefarious groups like you mentioned. If they are kept from making money to support such hateful organizations, those hateful organizations will die out and we’d be a better country for it.

  • Lindsay Holeman

You should all be ashamed of yourselves. By giving your money to them, you are supporting the idea that two people who are together can’t get federal benefits when their partner dies. You are supporting the parents who kick a child out of their home because of something the child has no control over. I will not support an organization that gives its money to anti-gay causes. If this man who is the CEO of a company believes in something but keeps his opinions to himself, that’s one thing. This???? Hah!! Bye-bye Chick-fil-A. Even with all the Christians out there trying desperately to drum up business for you, you lost a lot of people. The little tidal wave in the pictures above will calm after a few days. People will lose interest or simply get sick of chick-fil-a. Either way, this will blow over and I will still choose to not patronize a disgusting establishment such as Chick-fil-a.

    • Kevin Miller

That’s certainly your perogative. But the government has no place legislating opinion.

    • http://www.facebook.com/Jennyw Jennifer McGuffin Wickings

So its not ok for a business owner to have an opinion and use HIS freedom of speech, but its ok for you and the mayors to have one? Where is the fairness in that. How many other companies out there do you think have the same views as he does? I bet a lot of them that you choose to patronize on a regular basis have the same opinion. He has a belief on the LEGAL definition of marriage. He is not being discriminating in anyway. He is NOT stopping the gay community to come into his business nor is he not hiring them. On the other hand people like YOU and the Mayors of Chicago and Boston are being discriminating against a business man that choose to use his freedom of speech. Guess when it comes to the left they are the only ones allowed to speak their minds. It shouldn’t surprise me in anyway though…

    • Jenny Stang

Not all parents of gay children kick them out of their houses. Frankly, if they are old enough to determine that they are gay, they are probably old enough to be on their own anyway. Also, donating money to protect traditional marriage doen’t mean you are donating to a ‘hate group’. Komen donated money to planned parenthood, but no one declares them a ‘baby hate group’. Just because someone doen’t like your choices doesn’t mean they hate you. And this ‘wave’ is called conservativism and it is supported by the large majority of our countries population. Although I agree Chick-fil-a will not be bursting at the seams for good, the values of those participating will not subside, but be carried to the polls this November and every novemeber until liberal extremists realize that this ‘fight’ is going nowhere and eventually fizzle out. At least on a national level. Ah, I love state soverignty.

    • http://www.facebook.com/KSF89509 Kc Frantzen

Federal benefits? And where pray tell, does the $$ come from??

Yes, I love the fact that there are those who are boycotting this establishment. All of you in support of an establishment funding hate organizations can continue to stuff your faces with unhealthy, fried food in the name of your “cause”. Your “cause” is nothing more than showing your hate for a minority group of fellow Americans. Are you prideful of that? So un-Christian like behavior.

      • ozconservative

You keep bangin’ on about these “hate groups” that Chick-fil-A supports. Please provide their names and links to news items about anything hateful they might have done or said. Also you keep on saying that anyone (I believe “fat-assed Christians” was the term you used) that ate a meal at Chick-fil-A was contributing to the obesity problem in the USA. Please tell us how a Christian who eats at Chick-fil-A, who oppose gay marriage, is contributing more to the obesity problem than an atheist who eats at Wendys, who support it.

  • Nadine Faber

Yep. Free speech and freedom of religion are the reasons we have the greatest nation in the world. People wanted the right to worship and practice their faith without governmental intrusion or being told what they can or cannot believe. Guess what folks, those who oppose the traditional marriage that God blessed have the same rights as those who do believe in marriage as a sacred vow between God and a man and woman. There are all kinds of families, but this blessed event began with a man and a woman who produced the first children. Emanuel basically said that this traditional marriage doesn’t have a place in Chicago? Not showing respect? WHAT BS? Who is not showing respect and deciding who or who cannot come into their city to set up a business based solely on THEIR VALUES or political ones primarily. I wonder how many couples live in these areas agree with him. On top of that, this abuse of “I can tell people what they can or cannot do in MY City” is a reflection of the current administration in DC. They too think they can dictate law and ignore congress, our Constitution and our laws because they can. We are so on the wrong side of the American People and getting back to God and justice for all while adhering to the laws of this Country is a vote for Romney. Not voting is a vote for Obama and Emanuel and others like them. We don’t need these kind of people in any local, state or federal positions of authority or responsible for our financial institutions because they don’t care about the needs of this country or people they are suppose to be representing like Chicago and so on.

    • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

None of this would be an issue if he were using his OWN money to fund these hate organizations. But he’s not doing that. He’s using corporate funds, money that has been made from the very people that he hates and is trying to keep equal rights from. No one could really care what his personal opinions are of the LGBT community. Those are his own personal “values” (if you want to call being ignorant, intolerant and hateful a value) and he has every right to have them. But when he uses other peoples money and sponsors money to fund his so called “values” then he is crossing a line. All that money he donated could have fed and clothed thousands of homeless children, or supported education, or any number of truly valuable charity organizations. Instead, he used the money to support hatred and intolerance, attributes that are clearly in contrast of what Christianity truly stands for.

Unless you can create the entire universe in 7 days, willingly give up your life on a cross and rise up in 3 day, then you have zero right to change marriage to how you want it, no matter in what name you call it, whether it is equality or something else. I’ll support your right to your lifestyle and your beliefs, when you apply the same tolerance to those of others, till then, back in the closet and STFU!

    • http://twitter.com/bluegrasslvr Robin Butter

I am gay. Conservative, Republican and Pro Life. I also have a live and let live attitude. Basically I just want to be left alone and live my life. In a liberal city, it’s an easy thing to do. I don’t force my “way of life” on anyone and expect the same in return. Many of us don’t want to be married nor believe it should be legal. We just want the same legal rights afforded to couples. ie: rights to make decisions for our loved one if they are in the hospital and can’t speak for themselves….etc.

      • Sheerie Knoll

Would a Power of Attorney work? Or some other legal paperwork? (Sincere question).

        • AMSilver

You can talk to a lawyer and get them to do the proper paperwork (a power of attorney covers most things) to give you every right that you get in a marriage – except federal spouse benefits and the right to services that churches give only to married couples (ie: adoption services from the Catholic church).

‘Marriage’ benefits costly for gay couples
Heterosexuals are protected by $40 license, but wills and legal safeguards for same-sex couples cost thousands
            January 18, 2010

            31
            If
Howard Wax and Robert Pooley Jr. were a heterosexual couple, they
could’ve gone to their nearest Cook County clerk’s office, paid $40 for a
marriage license and been wed. That would have provided them an
array of legal protections — the right to make medical decisions for
one another, the ability for one to inherit the other’s property.
            Instead,
the couple paid $10,000 for an attorney to help them roughly simulate
            — using wills, trusts and powers of attorney — the protections that
marriage affords. It was a price the men, parents of 3-year-old twins,
were willing to pay for peace of mind, though they admit it’s far from
perfect.”I feel at least like we’re secure now,” said Wax, who has been with Pooley for nine years. “It’s not perfect, but we’re OK.”Across
the country, there has been a surge in gay and lesbian couples making
such arrangements to protect themselves in states like Illinois that do
not recognize same-sex marriage or civil unions. As the nation continues
to fiercely debate gay marriage, some proponents cite the added
financial burden in casting it as not just a civil rights issue but an
issue of economic fairness.”Gay couples have to go to an
attorney, have a will drawn up, get durable powers of attorney. Not only
is it a financial expense, but many of those things can be challenged
by people’s biological families,” said Rick Garcia, political director
for the gay and lesbian rights group Equality Illinois. “A heterosexual
couple that barely knows each other can walk into the county clerk’s
office, get a license, get married by an administrative law judge, and
all their rights and all their protections are there.”It can be a difficult reality for same-sex couples to face.Melissa
Walker and Erin Ferguson had a wedding ceremony in Chicago in 2008. A
couple of friends who are attorneys offered their services as a gift,
helping the couple prepare powers of attorney and wills. Now
Walker is eight months pregnant and said it will cost about $2,000 for
Ferguson to adopt the child, along with additional legal costs to make
sure their parental rights are protected.”Erin and I are spending
thousands of dollars out of our savings account,” Walker said. “How
does it benefit anyone when our child is going to come into this world
with a less economically sound family?”Most estate attorneys
advise straight couples to have safeguards like wills and powers of
attorney, but they aren’t absolutely necessary.”There are
protections under the law that would help a heterosexual couple if they
didn’t have those protections in place,” said Christopher Clark, senior
staff attorney in the Midwest Regional Office of Lambda Legal, a
national gay and lesbian civil rights organization. “A same-sex couple,
without these steps, has no legal protection.”Even with carefully
laid-out legal plans, Clark said same-sex couples still have cause for
concern: “We’ve had horrible situations where someone winds up in the
emergency room in critical condition or even dying, and the person’s
partner is not allowed access to them, regardless of the documents.”And
there are other rights that come with marriage that same-sex couples
have no way of accessing. They miss out on all manner of federal tax
benefits, and the federal Defense of Marriage Act — signed into law by
President Bill Clinton — makes it impossible for a surviving partner to
receive any of their deceased partner’s monthly Social Security payout.
That money simply goes back to the federal government.
            In
Illinois, if one person in a same-sex relationship is covered by his or
her partner’s work health insurance, the premium that company pays is
treated as taxable income for the partner who works there. Married
heterosexuals don’t face such a tax.
            “You can never create —
using private contracts — all the same benefits and protections people
have by being married,” said Ray Koenig III, a Chicago attorney. “You
can try hard, and you can spend a lot of money. But you’ll never get
            there.”

          • Lori Walker

Wills and power of attorney do not cost $1000s. You can print forms online to secure power of attorney and have them notarized. The cost of a notary is generally less than $5.00. In addition, you can also make your own will and have it notarized. It actually would be less expensive than getting married in most courthouses.

That being said, I am all for civil unions between same sex couples. Not my life! However, I am in more support of free speech and the rights protected by the constitution.

          • Rick Hall

That’s funny. My sister and her female partner spent over $12000 last year trying to get legal papers in order to try to duplicate some
(not all) of the rights that straight couples get for free. And they still have to file separate federal tax returns and won’t get survival partner Social Security benefits.Stuff that you as a straight person don’t even have to think about. It was recommended that they not use forms printed off the Internet because they often can be fought by families in the case of gay couples. You need something ironclad, not some Cracker -Jack paperwork.
By the way, I am also in support of free speech, but I am not in support of someone using money they received from their customers to be donated to organizations that try to take constitutional rights away from a group of Americans.

    • http://www.facebook.com/Roadrunner48808 Heather Thornton Wiles

Are they supporting hate groups, trying to stop heterosexuals from the freedom to be married to the person they love and want to spend their life with? Where are they organizing any of these groups to hate heterosexual people? Please show me these organizations and the companies that fund them. You’re just pissed that they are asking for EQUAL RIGHTS. They aren’t asking for any special rights, they aren’t rubbing your nose in their lifestyle. All they want to do is live their lives with the same rights as heterosexuals. How is that rubbing your nose in anything? Were other minorities in the past rubbing the public’s nose in their lifestyle by asking for EQUAL rights? Should they have just gone back into hiding and shut up? Or should they have done what they did, and push for equal rights and get them, forming a more tolerant and free United States. This is one other major hump we need to get over to make sure all minorities have the same rights as the majority. Don’t like it? Then don’t be a homosexual and don’t have a relationship with someone of the same gender and want to get married. Simple. But don’t try to keep their equality from them just because you don’t want to know about their lives.

A false stat made up by Alfred Kinsey, who was a major proponent of homosexual perversion. In his study groups he had large numbers of prisoners, who tend to be more exposed to homosexual activity. He asked if they had *ever* engaged in *any* kind of homosexual activity, and if they answered in the affirmative, he counted them as homosexuals, even if it was as the victim of sexual assault.

Most in the homosexual community have quit using this ridiculously over-stated number, and now use a less-ridiculous but still too-high number of 3.5 to 5%.

        • Rick Hall

You to find more accurate sources. And it doesn’t matter what the actual percentage is, they are still people with God-given rights.

    • Lori Walker

First off, I support Chick-fil-A in sticking to their beliefs and in their freedom of speech. However, it does not matter if only 2% or 10% or 25% of the population is homosexual. The majority of people are not Black, or Jewish, or Muslim, or Hindu, or Hispanic. The United States is not a place for only the majority. Please remember that when you support freedom of speech, it is on both sides. They have a right to their lifestyle and you have a right not to like it. No matter how many there are.

You know, there is a saying, ” what u gonna do when they come for u? The homosexual community should take stock, nothing stays the same! They mght not like it if and when the pubic turns against them, when people are tired of their bullying and of their agenda! Just because they have an ally in the WH now doesn’t mean they will aways have one! Treat people the way you want to be treated, you will earn respect! When you think you are on top and can treat those who disagree with you like second class citizens, there is a reckoning day! And when that day comes, who will defend you? To borrow a phrase I heard while visitng a church in VA.,”Not a sermon, just a thought”.

  • disqus_CR25ev2Z1s

I support gay marriage and have for many years. However, I also support freedom of speech and of religion and the fact that we have elected officials telling private businesses that they can’t do business in their cities unless they have specific political positions really pisses me off. Every time I hear about this or that public official making these blatantly illegal and bigoted attempts to inform “those kinds of people” (ie conservatives, Christians, or anyone who tolerates beliefs other than their own) that they don’t have the right to form their own opinions it just makes me want to go get another chicken sandwich.

It’s been clear that the majority of the people blasting accusations of “hate” don’t believe that certain people should be allowed to express their own opinions. They’re OK with it as long as they never say anything objectionable, but the minute they hear someone say something they don’t agree with that person must be screamed down and told that they don’t have the right to talk. This isn’t tolerance. This is bigotry. This is hatred. This is tyranny.

You don’t have the right to be free of any opinion that might offend you. Freedom of religion swings both ways. Religious people have the right to be free of others who would seek to stamp them out and forcibly shut them up.

I am not a religious person. However, I do have some politically incorrect beliefs that many people would believe robs me of the right to call myself a woman. I also used to work at a bank. So I’m used to the invective coming from the other side that believes that I have no human rights whatsoever.

If we don’t stand up for the right to possess our own opinions and our own belief systems, as well as everyone else’s, they will be taken from us. That’s why I support Chick Fil A.

(P.S. It would be awesome if I could boycott all of the organizations who offend me based on the aforementioned political beliefs, but that would make life very difficult, and the government forces me to subsidize them anyway, so I don’t participate in the practice. And besides, there are a lot more pressing causes and needier victims in the world than gay marriage presents to me. When I have the means to provide charity, I choose to focus on those).

Don’t these people get it, without free speech they would be locked up for their rhetoric in many countries?? It is called tyranny! In their Godless minds, they think because they have some clout, they can shout others down by crying”homophobe”, or “racist”, well guess what, we are seeing the power of “love” of freedom triumph over hatred! Keep on going to Chic- Fil- A. Make it #1 in the nation! America is beautiful!!

The Lord does work in mysterious ways…The Chick-Fil-A debacle presents a golden opportunity for dead ruler to come out in full support of small business and the free market system, thus silencing or greatly diminishing calls from the ‘right’ about his lack of understaning. • http://profiles.google.com/ajbruno14 Anthony Bruno

With the serious problems facing most major cities it seem curious why two of them, notably Chicago and Boston, are publicly rebuking a fast food chain. So it is as Chic-fil-A, a privately held company, is being told it is not welcome in Boston and does not share Chicago’s “values”.

Boston mayor, Thomas Menino, was the first to launch an attack, vowing to prevent the company from opening a store.

Less than one week later, Chicago mayor, Rahm Emanuel, declared Chic-fil-A does not share the city’s values,

which is odd when you factor in Chicago leads the nation in shootings, with dozens occurring each weekend. “Chicago values?”

These bold steps were taken for one reason, the view of the company’s CEO. Quite simply, the mayors took offense to a statement by CEO Dan Cathy that he supports the “Biblical definition of marriage”. That was it, a personal statement which incidentally is shared by a majority of Americans.

If these mayors are troubled by one citizen’s personal view perhaps they should be equally concerned of the many others who share this viewpoint.

The mayors should go a step further and publicly rebuke vacationers who share Mr. Cathy’s view and advise them they too are not welcome in either city.

Additionally, Menino and Emanuel should advise the Catholic Church it too is not welcome. After all, the Church is in total agreement with Mr. Cathy.

I would suggest Emanuel place a call to the Chicago Archdiocese and tell Cardinal Francis George he too does not share “Chicago’s values”.

And Menino should contact Cardinal Sean O’Malley and tell him the Boston Archdiocese should close its churches, hospitals and community centers as it does not fit into the one size fits all thinking of Boston.

I doubt seriously these self-righteous mayors would dare launch a similar assault on visitors or the Church, the political and economic cost would be too high!

It is enough for them to bully a small by comparison, private business solely because its CEOs does not have the same beliefs Menino and Emanuel attempt to force feed on the public. Chic-fil-A is ripe to be plucked!

Further, at no time did Mr. Cathy state, or even infer Chic-fil-A discriminates in its hiring or business practices. But, this does not matter to Menino or Emanuel, whose own bigotry reared its ugly head. To them Cathy’s comment was more than enough to take action.

In the myopic world that bigots live in something must be done! Organized protests and calls to Menino and Emanuel urged them to “take a stand” against Chic-fil-A! And they did!

The blatant bigotry from groups which insist on tolerance for their positions is not surprising. To them the road of “tolerance” is a one way boulevard.

This issue in not about gay marriage, it is about any American being allowed to speech freely, on any issue, without being concerned that a price would be paid.

Christians will be held accountable for where they give and spend God’s money. We are to be selective as to which charity and what denomination we give our tithes and offerings. The Chick-fil-A Facebook page has nearly 200,000 new “likes” since Mr. Cathy’s use of his constitutionally-protected free speech and freedom of opinion last week regarding traditional marriage. I just love reading the bigoted and vicious remarks from the gays, lesbians, and libtards on the CFA Facebook page as well, especially when they continue to preach to the rest of us about “hate”, “tolerance”, and “acceptance.” I am so glad to see that the silent majority is finally hitting back against these assaults on our traditional values in this nation; but if you think this is noteworthy, just want until November!

The fact remains that as long as they are supporting Hate-policy against LBGT and non-christians, they won’t be doing it with my money. That is the point of the boycott. I haven’t eaten there in over ten years, and I highly doubt I ever will again.

      I agree.

For elected government officials to THINK that they have a right to deny a company the opportunity to build their business in their city, just because a company and it’s president have done nothing illegal, just expressing their support for traditional marriage is scary! Chick-fil-a has the right to their opinions because last time I checked, this is a FREE country with the right to express your opinion. Those mayors should all be kicked out of office for attempting to enforce THEIR unconstitutional discrimination. This proves that our country is sick & tired of the socialistic attitudes of our leaders! This isn’t Nazi Germany & if this is the road that we are heading down, GOD HELP US ALL!

Hoping that people will be as passionate to vote in November as they are to stand in line (or sit in a car) to get Chick-fil-A ! Voting will take patients …lines will be long…but just like Chick-fil-A oh so worth the wait!
