Former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush are back in the White House today for the unveiling of their portraits. Joining them are former President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush. It is a rare event to have three Presidents at the White House.

There is a packed house in the East Room and we are following along with Twitter for first-hand accounts of all the action and ceremony. Much love was shown for former President George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara Bush.

President Bush shows his grace and class, as always.

Soros monkey and Media Matters “research fellow” not so classy.

Reports from the scene aren’t so snarly, as even reporters appreciate the ceremony and the history.

Biden yuks it up.

Long ovation for George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush.

Aww. Warm fuzzies.

Old friends also catch up.

President Obama speaks at the ceremony.

Portrait unveiled!

And President George W. Bush speaks; miss him yet?

The love between a son and his daddy.

President Bush, and his wife Laura, continue to bring down the house.

As for the portraits themselves?

And, Laura Bush is trending!

Ha! I just the other day finished reading Bernard Bailyn’s “To Begin the World Anew,” a collection of essays he wrote about the Founding Generation. So what do I see in the background of the portrait of Laura Bush? The very portrait of Ben Franklin that is on the cover of Bailyn’s book.

Those painted portraits are quite stately and very befitting of permanent display in the White House. God Bless President George W. Bush and the entire Bush family. God Bless the thoroughly unique and supremely exceptional United States of America!

Also — the Bush family has more class in their pinky fingers than the 0bama family has in their entire carcasses.

    Beautiful portraits, an extraordinary family.

    Classy, well-done portraits.

Random questions generated by soundbites from Omumbler’s speech at the portrait ceremony for the Bushes:
How long did Obama’s nose grow with some of those lies he told?
How much antacid did he have to take to calm a queasy stomach when he saw some of the lines in that speech that he’d have to read in public with a straight face?
What do you supposed Pres Romney will have to be saying 4 years from now when they’re unveiling the Obamas’ portraits?
Will an actual figure even appear on Baraka’s portrait? And if so, will a halo magically appear on it?

I think this reflected well on both the Bushes and Obamas.

except for the part where Obama cries about the mess he inherited. He knew what was happening and ran on a promise to fix it. He lied. Crybaby.

GW is a class act. But how must Obama feel when GW was thanking GHWB “41” for his unconditional love. That must have struck Pres Obama at his very core — seeing what love is between and father and his son. GW is loved by his family, loved by his friends, and probably loved the the WH staff, if truth be told.

    I miss them so much.

The portraits are very well done….Laura’s is amazing. Just a reminder of some of the things we LIKED about GWB! His self-deprecating sense of humor was such a breath of fresh air for a politician (Clinton never quite pulled it off for me). He made his mistakes, but he did NOT crash the economy or the housing market. The Dems did that and blamed him!

obaminations will never live up to their predecessors. Never.

Love the portrait of Laura Bush. Nice work, John Howard Sanden!
