“You know what? Rich people – I’m sure you’d agree with this – actually do pay the freight in this country.  I just saw these statistics,” he continued, “I mean, something like 70 percent. And here in California, I just want to say liberals – you could actually lose me. It’s outrageous what we’re paying – over 50 percent. I’m willing to pay my share, but yeah, it’s ridiculous.”

Conservative tweeters feel really sorry for him. Not!

  • conservativechick

This is too funny! Made my day.

  • Roto

And dimwit android Rachel Maddow sitting right beside him….. PRICELESS!!!

    • wwbdinct

LMAO! Didn’t click on the video link but just skimmed by the picture. I thought it was 3 men on the panel.

      • beebop1952

        It is.

      • Roto

She wears the best mens’ suits from H&M and lesbian designer Jil Sander (so does Ellen DeGenerate) that money can buy… (I looked it up :-)

    • TugboatPhil

He should have had Donna Brazille on to explain why his taxes are so high. Then he could have explained why her health care premiums went up this year.

Only problem is, neither of them really have a clue.

      • Miss Clairee

        Hmmmmmm. No good answers!

    • Mister A

I just don’t understand why Maddow gets so much credit. She completely misrepresented the Ryan budget in that short span of seconds, yet she got uproarious applause. Then, Maher gently corrects her to the sound of crickets. What gives?

  • Steve_J

Once again proving his ignorance. BTW, if the liberals lose him where’s he going to go?

    • AaronHarrisinAlaska

He’ll likely try and claim he’s a libertarian again. They won’t have him either.

      • Stone Bryson

He’s actually tried claiming he’s a libertarian in the past. You’re right, we won’t – a majority of us didn’t buy it then, very much doubt any libertarian would buy it now.

        • andycanuck

          Yes, before 9/11.

    • tdpwells

Hopefully into obscurity like his buddy Olbermann.

  • Brett McMicken

it’s all well and good until it starts hitting home, huh, bill?

  • Rafael Eduardo Peña-Rios Riber

my god hell must be having an ice age

  • Scott Carroll

The self-awareness train obviously doesn’t stop at his station.

  • Jack Deth

I was wondering when Mr. Maher’s beloved socialist, distributive left would finally go gunning for him.

Gotta love those peasants with their pitchforks and torches!

  • disqus_e2F2oUH6C7

If he stops being a liberal What is he going to do. The right doesn’t want him&he’ll still be paying higher taxes.
Guess he doesn’t want to share the wealth anymore.

  • LuCha

    Dear God make Bill pay!!!!

  • SameJerkDifferentName

Cry me a river billy-boy, you wanted it, you got it.

  • Miss Clairee

Bill Maher: “Whaaaa, Whhhaaa, Whhhaaaaaa! My vagina hurts! Taxes are killin’ me!”

Me to Bill Maher: “You voted for the liberals, you dipstick!”

  • RblDiver

    “My taxes are too high!
…Oh, by the way, pay for my everything, you evil government!”

  • Joseph A White

Then he’ll be the douche bag without a party because the Republicans and/or Conservatives will want nothing to do with him.

    • HARP2

I thought Bill was in the 47%.

  • Squirrel!

LOL!! I am just wondering if he’ll get the Tiger Woods treatment or the Phil Mickelson treatment from his liberal peers.

  • HARP2

Hey Bill !!! No refund on the million…. sucker.

  • Spatial Awareness

    Karma is DELICIOUS!!!! #YumYum

  • sqeptiq

For once I agree with conservatives. I don’t think Maher’s taxes should be cut by one penny.

    • AaronHarrisinAlaska

I don’t think any one said any thing about not cutting them. Rather that he should lay in the bed he helped make.

      • sqeptiq

Well, I did. I like how a British friend of mine, an avowed socialist, puts it: Tax the rich until they piss blood, then tax them some more.

        • PennyRobinsonFanClub

Socialist’s definition of “The Rich”: Anyone with more than I have. Nice thought, but as another Briton of somewhat more renown than any friend of yours observed: “The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money”.

Seriously though– what happens after they bleed to death?

          • sqeptiq

Socialism (actual socialism such as the USSR had) isn’t about taxing people. The USSR had no income tax, for instance, and had no use for one. That’s because under socialism, the state sets your monthly income in the first place, according to your job and rank therein.

          • Emily B

That worked out so well for them.

          • sqeptiq

It was a crappy system indeed. The quality of consumer goods was generally poor and the state-run restaurants were god-awful. They had names like “Restaurant #51.” I’m not even kidding. A usual restaurant meal was a meat fritter (chicken, beef or pork) and a scoop of white rice with a dollop of grease on it as sauce. xD

          • TocksNedlog

            Ah, mama’s home cookin’!

          • Roto

Obama’s definition of “The Rich” is anybody with a payroll check…

          • louisiana_mom

Obama’s definition of “the Rich” anyone with a job… even part time… If you notice the Dems no longer talk about “the poor”. That’s because they have moved the poor into the middle class, and all wage earners have now became the rich.

    • PennyRobinsonFanClub

      • sqeptiq

I don’t think any rich person should get a tax cut, and that includes liberal richies.

    • TocksNedlog

That’s funny. Most people on St. Patrick’s Day, the dumbest thing they do is get drunk and fall down.
Others seem to be more content with blogging.

  • disqus_LASIg6epmj

Oh my! That ‘blob’ or whatever it is does have a striking resemblance to Maher. lol

  • $18912735

Wait till you see the roadrunner cloud these liberals create when Kalifornia finally collapses economically, and starts demanding France-like tax payments. Won’t be too long…

  • RedSoloCup

    Poor baby!

  • Tpsurvey 1

Trust me,this is only the beginning of libs complaining about there taxes and mis informed voters learning the truth about reality.

  • JR48

Socialism was great for Maher as long it was only theory and not a bill that he had to pay.

Suck it up Bill and write the checks. Oh, and since CA is so far in the hole, get ready to write bigger ones in the future. Have a nice day.

  • almarquardt

Just goes to show how principals are suddenly meaningless when it affects the wallet.

I’d like to say, “Welcome to Reality,” but a large part of me says instead, “You made that bed. Time to lie in it.”

    • Infinite_Indeterminism

I generally don’t comment such things, but this one has become endemic, so here goes:

It’s “principles” you’re thinking of – and frankly, I don’t think the entity known as ‘Maher’ has any.

But his current discomfort is a source of sarcastic enjoyment for us out here…

  • Ben Bollman

The state of California should find every millionaire liberals and make them pay a 60% tax rate like in Europe and see how long they stay liberal.

  • disqus_lLUSGwbabb

I’m not sure I believe he is really paying 50%. It’s not like he is competent with numbers; he thought Bush created more national debt than Obama, after all.

  • bidentime

No come on guys. It was supposed to be other peoples money!

  • Maxx

Here’s what I find most entertaining about this sudden Maher epiphany. Huffington Post will usually highlight snippets of his show within hours of its first HBO airing…especially when attacks on conservatives make them giddy with delight.

It’s now Sunday evening and it’s crickets over there. Not a peep. Not a headline. Not a word. You would of thought Maher was on summer break from the show.

THAT is what puts a grin on my face.

    • Roto

^^ Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, Levin, et al. should have a field day Monday… :-)

    • Infinite_Indeterminism

That’s not entertaining, that’s downright creepy. Because it demonstrates very directly that they are in lockstep with the other state-ideology traitors.

  • Paul West

Think of the kids Bill. It’s all FOR THE KIDS…………..hahahahahahahah

  • SineWaveII

    Good step one.
Now step two. Disarm his security and publish his schedule in all California newspapers and newspaper web sites.

  • arttie

As Obama said, “I won.” Now Maher knows what O meant, “Everyone else lost.”

  • HARP2

C`mon Bill…….someone has to pay for all the FREE stuff . Why not you ?

  • PennyRobinsonFanClub

” I just saw these statistics,” he continued”
LOL, ya mean all this time ya been talkin out yer ignorant kazoo? Sure what it looks to me!

  • George Washington Mclintock

Makes me shake my head how we’re always proven right in dealing with the moonbats. Every single time. 100 % Percent correct on every prominent problem of the day. Often times, they’ll come out and support our positions with their own words. Yet, that just makes them fight all the harder against supporting those stances. They’ll see the United States turn into Somalia before admitting we were right. So don’t be afraid to do some truth speaking, as the moderates of this country will never hear any from the Maddow, Maher, and all the other liberal whackadoodles.

    • louisiana_mom

Socialism has failed everytime it has been tried… but they have convinced themselves next time it will work… They are who Eistein was refering to with his famous quote: “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

  • Michelle

Oh please Bill Maher, as a middle class Californian, the high taxes we pay hurt me far, far greater than they hurt you. But I’m in a better position to whine and cry about it considering I did not cast my vote to put Liberals in office while…you did. You get what you vote for Mr. Maher. Put on your big boy pants and suck it up.

  • louisiana_mom

Everyone who voted for the Progressives’ big government, high taxes, no productivity should be forced to stay in California… I don’t want them in Louisiana bringing their parasitic policies and ideology here. Now, any red blooded, freedom loving, Conservatives are more than welcome.

    • Ardell Simon

We don’t want them in PA either!

      Same for TN!

  • TocksNedlog

Bet he wishes he had that million dollar SuperPac donation back now, huh?

  • Michael Rice

The even more sad part is he is sayign liberals might lose him over…..taxes…not over killing babies or anything of that nature, but over money.

  • GTFOBigGovt

Wait. The worst part is he “just” saw the statistics and has been yapping all this time without even pretending to know what he was agreeing to?

  • kenai

Hey, Maher, ever hear of the word, ‘schadenfreude’? Now imagine loud, hyena like laughter.

  • $23629333

That photo of Bill Maher fresh out of the tub is a bit much to take first thing on a morning. Imagine some poor woman waking up beside that.

    • Orlando Cee

I thought it was an improvement. Did he lose weight?

Justin Bieber’s twin is REALLY annoying. That being said I love the saying that goes like this…”People who are liberal become real conservative when it concerns their own children and/or their own money”.

  • $45875941

Now, come on people, let’s be fair. What mental midget billy has meant about the rich paying their “fair share,” is the rich Republicans; not the rich Democrats. Poor billy!

  • Riooso

Finally the pocketbook connected to the brain. But really Bill, you have used all your connections to get Progressives into power so we are not going to feel sorry for you. Hey Bill now that California voters oke’d new taxes the Legislators have decided we need even more so they just came up with some new ones just over the weekend!

Bill may you rot in what ever situation you consider “Hell” because you really do deserve it!

  • Barack Hussein Sharpton

Maher paid a million dollars to reelect the guy who just raised his taxes, and now he is whining about paying higher taxes. And HBO thinks his thoughts and opinions are worthy of being broadcast.

  • b l

    “It’s outrageous what we’re paying – over 50 percent”
Like the old joke says, “We’ve already established what you ARE, now we’re just haggling over price.”
