Sen. Jim DeMint, R-South Carolina, was one of only three US Senators who didn’t vote on the Senate fiscal cliff bill this morning.

We understand why Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-New Jersey, didn’t vote. He has the flu. And Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Illinois,  hasn’t voted since he suffered a stroke last year.

But where was DeMint?

Shouldn’t somebody call his office and ask?

It is not like it mattered, it would be 89 to 9 then. Is he still an senator or completely resigned and in the gap time when SC has only one Senator. When does Tim Scott get sworn in, are they waiting until the whole new class of senators do at the same time him included then. He is more lame duck than the rest lame ducks for the next week.

DeMint is obviously NOT what we thought he was! What an opportunity to stand FOR limited government! Now he’s gonna do MORE good over at Heritage? DeMint is a coward!

Hardly a coward. At some point, good people get tired of banging their heads against the wall. I congratulate him on being able to stand tall for as long as he did. Besides, our other SC senator voted for the ‘crap sandwich’.

Why does it matter if Jim DeMint voted? His vote would have made NO difference. I, for one, applaud him for his hard work in the cesspool that is called Washington, DC and wish him all the best at the Heritage Foundation. Hoping/praying that he can make a real difference there.

Demint has retreated to safe territory. He will hide out the Obammunist Tyranny in a high paid seat in a conservative think tank – which will be a symptom of conservativism – will become an ivory tower thing soon to be extinct.
