This afternoon, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said he does not support the fiscal cliff bill (aka crap sandwich) that was passed by the US Senate earlier today.

Liberal tweeters who support the bill responded civilly and respectfully.

Just kidding. They unleashed their usual vitriol:

    Nice language. :(

What “deal”? a deal implies both sides get something.

Liberals showing their lack of class and impulse control is nothing new.

  • oldhardhead

In the polite, trustworthy and newsworthy language appropriate for broadcast on CNN, the liberals can kiss my sardine.

EEESSH! With all the *F*’ing the progs do, no WONDER their biggest concern is contraceptives!

    • AMERICAN Kafir™(KAdams)

You know how it goes…. First you say it, then you do it.

    • Chris

Easily available contraception is actually one of the most effective ways to reduce poverty. Family planning is good for poor people – well everyone really.

  • Lady 12

Dear Lefties: please stay in school and improve your vocabulary. Your ignorant, misguided, imbecilic, and just plain stupid liberal ideas are hard enough to listen to without being assaulted by your sub-elementary linguistics.

    • almarquardt

That’s an insult to sub-elementary school children.

      • Lady 12

True. Pre-school kids use punctuation marks instead of swear words.

    • Sue

      Well said!

    • Jack ROSS

      Amen!!

    • Chris

Yes, because someone’s hastily typed tweet reflects their intelligence. Also writing a whole set of ideas off as ‘ignorant, misguided, imbecilic’ when more than 50% of the country voted for them is rather asinine. Comments like this are why it’s so hard to form compromise in the US, how can you compromise with the other side if you write off all their ideas as stupid. You may not like them all, but you try to find some common ground.

To the poster – people need to keep in mind that there are good and bad people in both the right and left. I can find plenty of ‘vitriol’ from the right as well. The divisive nature of your post is exactly what’s wrong with politics in the US.

      • Big Meanie

Barely 50% of the voting age population voted in this election. Of that, OblameO got about 51% percent of the vote. THERE IS NO MANDATE!

      • Rachel Logan

compromise is what has gotten us in the financial boat this country is in its time to stand on principles and soundly defeat the other side and do what is in the best interest of the country. I am so tired of the compromise ( go along to get along) attitude of so many left/moderates say we need and saying an idea by a progressive isnt “ignorant, misguided and imbecillic is like trying to find a skunk with no smell it doesnt exist

        • Ronald

Interesting view point. Many liberals blamed and criticized Obama for his compromises (real or imagined) and said that he should have been more aggressive. He should have defeated the other side, they said. So your views are reflected by those on the left as well. Unfortunately, it’s very unlikely that either side can win a decisive blow in a country that is very evenly split. So we can either double down on more fighting and gridlock, or find a way to work together. I just can’t see any other way. Can you?

      • MissDiane47

Yes there are good and bad people on both sides. The issue we have is what Rachel Logan said, and I will say it a different way. Compromise is what got us into the trouble we’re in. This didn’t just happen over night, Chris. This has been going on for over 60 yrs. I’ve studied history, and I know full well that you cannot compromise with an enemy of the free market – call it what you may: Communism, Socialism, or Marxism – they all end up the same way: Tyranny! And *that* … is where our country is headed! Washington knew this, and they have allowed it to happen – on purpose – because none of them have the cajones to stand up and call them for what they are: enemies – foreign and domestic!!

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation without knowing how it happened.” ~Norman Thomas, Socialist candidate for President in 1944

        • EEKman

The countries with higher standard of living than us all spend more as a % of GDP on government than we do. We aren’t Communist, socialist or Marxist however some countries you would consider a “Socialist paradise” have a higher quality of life than we do.

What you are really saying when you want to neuter your own government is that you don’t want the people to petition their government to do anything meaningful. You don’t want to use the government to go after any industry that may be taking advantage of people or causing other kinds of damage. You don’t think the government should protect our most vulnerable people. You want to basically give up your rights to corporations. If your elected government doesn’t have the power, someone else will find a way to take it, and you wont be able to vote them out of office.

          • Gallatin

The countries with higher standard of living than us all spend more as a % of GDP on government than we do.

            Name one.

          • EEKman

The World Happiness Report was commissioned for the April 2nd 2012 United Nations Conference on Happiness (mandated by the UN General Assembly) and was published by the Earth Institute, Columbia University and co-edited by the institute’s director, Jeffrey Sachs, Richard Layard and John Helliwell from the University of British Columbia. One of the goals of the study was to inspire governments to incorporate citizens’ happiness into policy-making decisions. Those compiling the report looked into a variety of factors in determining the happiest country and although it was not surprising that wealth did come into play, it was not the deciding factor.

According to the report, the top ten happiest places to live are: 1) Denmark; 2) Finland; 3) Norway; 4) Netherlands; 5) Canada; 6) Switzerland; 7) Sweden; 8) New Zealand; 9) Australia; and 10) Ireland.

          • Lady 12

The UN! Why then, we must all bow down before its unquestionable truthfulness and perfect accuracy! They would NEVER want to make America look bad! /sarc/

          • EEKman

            Wow. Turn off Alex Jones.

          • Lady 12

Still waiting for you to tell me what I spelled wrong. I have copy-and-pasted my comments into a word document, and none of them are getting the little red lines.

          • Gallatin

So you’re not basing your first comment on actually living in one of the above mentioned countries?

          • EEKman

If i did then you’d dismiss my argument as anecdotal. Whats the difference?

          • Gallatin

“What you are really saying when you want to neuter your own government is that you don’t want the people to petition their government to do anything meaningful.”

Government has never done anything meaningful.

“You don’t want to use the government to go after any industry that may be taking advantage of people or causing other kinds of damage.”

I believe government has more often taken advantage of people and caused more damage than any private company ever could in a million years.

“You don’t think the government should protect our most vulnerable people.”

I believe government has caused the most harm to our most vulnerable people.

“You want to basically give up your rights to corporations.”

I would prefer to be dealing with for profit corporations in an open and free marketplace and I don’t believe I would be giving up my rights. I believe that the government has done more to erode my rights and freedoms.

“If your elected government doesn’t have the power, someone else will find a way to take it, and you wont be able to vote them out of office.”

We can’t vote them out of office now and they care very little about what we want. They give our money to organizations like the UN so that a Happy study can be done.

          • EEKman

That is an extreme right wing minority view. Sounds like you watched one too many Ron Paul videos on Youtube. Why do you believe what you believe? Your view isn’t based on any understanding of history or the state of the world economy today. There isnt a single example of a developed country that has a society you describe. Chile is probably the strongest example of a right wing government, and even they know that deficit spending has a positive effect in a recession, and you only curb spending in periods of growth.

          • Gallatin

“Your view isn’t based on any understanding of history or the state of
the world economy today. There isnt a single example of a developed
country that has a society you describe”

EXACTLY! My economic beliefs have never existed anywhere in the world at any time in history. Yours however have been tried over and over and over again and have failed over and over and over again. After they fail some elitist repackages them names them something else and we start the cycle again. Why is it that every time government screws up the answer is more government?

          • EEKman

Good luck with that. What you are describing is Feudalism.

The countries on top of the “happiness” list I described earlier are much more socialist than we are and they have not “failed”

Someone has played on your natural angst and anger and convinced you government is the big bad demon in the room. Keep studying.

          • Gallatin

And someone has played on your angst and anger and convinced you that the private sector is the big bad demon in the room. Keep studying.

          • EEKman

            Ok buddy,
The 2 forces are not opposed to one another. Government is not the ‘enemy’ of the private sector. If government grows, it does not also mean that the private sector shrinks.

          • Gallatin

            Yes it does.

          • Gallatin

“The countries with higher standard of living than us all spend more as a % of GDP on government than we do.”

In addition you have failed to prove your initial statement copied above, once again—-name one.

          • MissDiane47

This punk can’t name one – because he knows he’s as stupid as a box of rocks … absolutely no brain power of his own!!

          • EEKman

I named 10. If you don’t like how the study was conducted or the source then google it yourself, you have the same internet I do. There are plenty of other studies. The US is not on the top of any of them.

          • MissDiane47

If you think I’m going to put my trust in a bunch of foreigners – many of which are enemies of the US, think again!

          • EEKman

Really, Britain and Canada are US enemies? Oh that one made my night. Stay in school kids.

          • MissDiane47

I wasn’t speaking of Britain and Canada; I was talking about other foreign countries. Here’s your patent on your pathetic brand of stupid!!

          • EEKman

Who do you think made the report? Al Qaeda?

          • MissDiane47

I’m done arguing with YOU – a political hacking idiot!

          • EEKman

            You’re adorable.

          • MissDiane47

You must be the type who supports frivolous lawsuits over spilling hot coffee on your lap while driving – when you already know the coffee is hot!! FYI – corporations are not people. The problem you don’t seem to comprehend is that government should never be involved in “picking winners and losers” in business. Let the free market decide what is worth supporting. And the so-called “most vulnerable people” are too stupid to make wise decisions using common sense reasoning, so – it’s their own fault if they get burned!

          • EEKman

If that’s your honest view on our system then I suggest taking night classes if your regular schedule is too rigorous for an education.

Read about the hot coffee case before you spout out knee jerk emotional nonsense. You sound like more of an anarcho-capitalist than anything resembling a republican. I find your views callous, apathetic and heartless. We are not just a collection of individuals in a darwinian concrete jungle fighting each other to hoard as many riches as we can. We are individuals yes, but we are also a society of one species working together for our common survival. You couldn’t make the money you make without the work of previous generations laying the groundwork for you. To believe what you believe shows a callous disrespect for what people of earlier generations fought and died to build.

          • MissDiane47

Did I ever say I was a Republican? NO!!! And I resent the fact that you would claim that I am any sort of anarchist. Based on your reply to Gallatin regarding your beloved U.N. “World Happiness Report,” you are clearly a globalist with a pea-sized brain. You no longer think for yourself, because you’re brain cells have been sucked up into the collective hive. You’ve watched too much Star Trek, The Next Generation …

          • EEKman

You can resent it all you want, based on your description you don’t want the government or courts to do much of anything, and the free market to do everything. Every time the government spends money building a road it picks winners and losers. Every time the government interfaces with the free market for services it picks winners and losers. All of us in our daily lives pick winners and losers. If you think the government “shouldn’t be picking winners and losers” then you are really saying that it shouldn’t do anything.

You also consider vulnerable people stupid and we should leave them to their fate. So how would you label that political ideology? That sounds like anarcho-capitalism to me.

          • MissDiane47

No, it’s not anarcho-capitalism … it’s called free enterprise. I’m sick of you and what you represent! YOU on the other hand, HATE free enterprise, and you can’t stand individual rights! The Constitution does not give the government any right to interfere with the free market – that is why we are in the mess we’re in now – and have been for 60 yrs or more – starting with the Federal Reserve Act!

        • Ronald

The free markets can also lead to tyranny when mega corporations control government. The real decision-makers in this country are arguably the big interests. They don’t particularly care who is in power in government just so long as officials are influenced by their armies of lobbyists. The solution is balance. Checks and balances hold the whole system together, but if one side gets too big and powerful, the public must rise up an call for change. Free markets, left totally unchecked are reckless, and dangerous. Too much regulation is the flip side of the coin. The key is to find the middle way.

The false dilemma of left and right just serves as a nice distraction while the power accumulates in the hands of a very select few.

          • MissDiane47

Ronald, thank you! I would rather have a proper role of checks and balances in government. However, that died a long time ago. There are bad people in big corporations who have done everything possible to erode this very thing, and it started long before many of us were born – starting with Big Agriculture and the destruction of small farmers choices leading right up to Agenda 21 …

      • Lady 12

Ha! “Hastily typed?” I think you mean “consistently typed.” You obviously don’t read much of Twitchy, or you’d see the numerous articles about the nasty tweets these people frequently write.

      • Ronald

The country has become so divided it’s like watching Israelis and Palestinians. At some point people need to stop hurling insults and demonizing the other side if we are ever to make any progress in this country. If regular folks act this way, how can they demand politicians do any different?

The first step is admitting that the most passionate amongst us are fired up because we care about this country and what happens to it. The challenge is to find the common ground, and respect each other.

Unfortunately, many folks use the excuse, that “the other guys do this too”, or “they are worse,” but more finger pointing doesn’t solve anything.

    • EEKman

Always spell check before insulting someone’s intelligence :)

I am just as disgusted as John with republicans getting wealthy while “serving” their country in office but lets be disgusted with democrats as well. Getting wealthy in office is a major reason I voted to get rid of Lugar. Now my challenge to John is for him to check into his Senators and Representative, I’m sure their hands are not clean of the “insider trading” business. John what are you going to do about it? Are you willing to stand on the principle you mentioned above, your disgust of insider trading, and vote even a democrat out of office?

These losers don’t scare me one bit. Just a bunch of (likely unemployed liberal arts majors) losers all trying to act tough while in the basement hiding behind mom’s computer and living off the government.

I’d like to tell them “FU”. Especially that worthless POS Robbie Gilchrist. No doubt a big time moocher.

  • Aaron

What a bunch of losers tweeting their low IQ for the world to see. There is no deal, there is only more tax and spend. Eric is right. You idiots can only think as far as, get it from the wealthy. Get a job.

    • Hello Jerry (D)

Sadlyfor them most businesses have stringent rules against drug use…

  • Hello Jerry (D)

    Clint Finch
    @ClintonFinch

Fuck Cantor and the Tea Partiers. Let the House burn down around them. #fiscalcliff #happynewyear
    ——————————————————————–
    Nice, a terrorsistic threat.

How about we burn yours down first? Then you and mommy can go Occupy a “evil 1%er” ran Holiday Inn or Super 8.

@Eric Canter, Thank you for the power of your convictions. Stay the course. #NoCrapSandwich.

  • ApplePie101

That’s a liberal: garbage in, garbage out.

  • proudhispanicconservative

Dont be fooled by Cantor, he is a Rino of the worst kind, he is positioning himself for a possible run at unseating Boehner, if Boehner doesnt get the votes he needs come January 3rd.

  • Renny

Same old, same old. Blah, blah, F, blah, die, blah. Absolute, mental midgets.

    • Hello Jerry (D)

I think they prefer “Mentally Vertically Challenged Person” instead…

  • Hello Jerry (D)

I noticed in Joan’s pic it has “Forward” at the top. Forward into hell!

    • Treuer Wolf

At least it didn’t say “FOWARD” ! LOL

  • $31841709

So, are we reporting these cowards saying Cantor must die to the authorities or are we as gutless as the GOP establishment?

    • Rachel Logan

they are of liberal ilk nothing would be done if they were reported…..remember only those on the left have freedom of speech……….don’t believe me just ask them they will say so

  • Julie Jewels

Seeing all the calls for death from libs ends the discussion on why maniacs are more violent today. It isn’t movies or video games, it is the left’s agenda.

    • Jack ROSS

Wow, I am amazed how many of these so called critics know more about everything except their own words. Just Stupid, and ignorant. But hey, thats why they are here and not in politics. Thank God….

    • Rachel Logan

impressive someone else sees it as well

  • CR

You know you are doing something right when the lunatic lefties start swearing at you and calling for your death! Should be a new criteria for judging conservative politicians- no getting on the ballot unless 95% of “peace-loving” and “open minded” liberals have tried to incite an assassination attempt against you.

  • arrow2010

I can this site is just another right-wing extremist know-nothing web site.

    • Jack Deth

You really should learn how to construct a cogent sentence before posting it.

      • Treuer Wolf

The poster or impostor, needs to be a sentient being to form a cogent sentence !

      • MoxieLouise

New liberal rule: sentences no longer require both a subject and a verb. Take note, extremist know-nothing right-wingers. We have to keep up with the geniuses. Excuse me, I have to go practice saying the “F” word.

        • Treuer Wolf

          Far out ? ; >)

          • MoxieLouise

            Fudge!

    • $23629333

Arrow, I have a suggestion and a question. Proofread your comments before posting them. Does the term “redundant” mean anything to you?

      • Treuer Wolf

Arrow could apply for a “Guvment” position. The Department Of Redundancy Department !

  • BlahBlahBlah

Bravo to Eric Cantor, and I agree… To get these cry babies all worked up means he was right. Juvenile words and death threats are par for the course with these socialists.

  • Fido

The U.S. bond rating must be downgraded AGAIN,

even though the emperor will turn his IRS on disobedient rating agencies.

Even they can not pretend the U.S. is not now a banana republic,

while aspiring to maintain any credibility.

  • LCM☝✊

Thanks Cantor! The homosexuals hating on his stance above have me laughing. They can’t see the Trojan horse. Welcome to Marxist America starring, non American Obama, perpetual lap dog Biden, that crook himself Reid, and the insane & often geriatric Pelosi. You all go fuck yourselves you Marxist Socialist bastards.

  • precursor

If Liberals are MAD…..then Eric Cantor and the republican House has done it’s job very well….Thank you Eric!!
