Prior to this evening, a lot of conservatives were skeptical about Hillary Clinton’s concussion. Now Clinton is in the hospital for a concussion-related blood clot and many liberals are rubbing conservatives’ faces in it.

Jonathan Chait, a writer for New York magazine, wonders how his fellow liberals would react if the shoe were on the other foot.

Chait’s liberal readers don’t agree. In their view, no reasonable person could have doubted Clinton’s concussion. What’s more, they argue, no liberal would ever doubt the word of a Republican official who avoided testimony by claiming illness or injury. (Because when Republicans have health problems, liberals are all class.)

Meanwhile, some conservatives are not in an apologetic mood:

When Clinton gets better (and we hope she gets better soon), we look forward to discussing whether she deserves the trust her supporters think she is due.

This is the problem when you see conspiracy in everything in life. Occasionally people tell the truth

    • Tabitha Bliss

You mean like that “vast right wing conspiracy” Hillary stated had been “conspiring against her husband since the day he announced he was running for President”, when Bill was accused of perjuring himself?

    • HarlemGhost

      the Clintons ? really ?

    • JackBlair

True, and with a Clinton, telling the truth makes headlines.

The thing that scares the heck out of Senator Clinton the most may be that there is no Statute of Limitations on Treason.

  • almarquardt

Their “righteous” anger against Clinton’s critics is as genuine as their anger toward the NRA after the Newtown massacre. They care more about rubbing our noses in our skepticism than real concern about Secretary Clinton’s health.

I still don’t buy it .. she just got back from another party trip … no way she had a concussion … a blood clot I believe … no concussion …

    • Jesse Malkin

party trip was a false story. There was no party trip.

  • JackBlair

This has become a real headache for the Obama administration.

  • Dan Thorpe

Questioning the sincerity about her getting a concussion days before she was supposed to testify that’s terrible? Meanwhile General Schwarzkopf dies and George H.W. Bush was in the ICU and the left hurls all sorts of hate but that’s OK. SMH at the hypocrisy.

    • Dan Thorpe

It might have been revealed before and I missed it but how would someone like her get a concussion in the first place? I mean you really have get hit hard to get a concussion, I got one when I was about 10 years old. How a politician gets a concussion boggles me.

  • Justin Case

Two choices here – She’s faking it or Obama tried to have her whacked.

    • Jesse Malkin

      Oh, good grief.

  • Jack Deth

Yeah. A long night of boozing and partying is the last thing someone with a blood clot should contemplate having to endure.

Personally, judging from the way she’s uglied up over the past four years, I’m leaning much more towards cirrhosis of the liver.

    • Jesse Malkin

there was no boozing and partying. The report was false.
