Here’s the despicable racist tweet that got University of North Alabama player, Bradley Patterson, kicked off his team:

take that n-word off the TV

The tweet was brought to the University’s attention after it was highlighted by Deadspin.

Within the past several hours, Patterson deleted his Twitter account.

Goodbye and good riddance:

But as T. Becket Adams points out, not all racial rubbish and hate-monger on Twitter is treated equally.

Yes it’s wrong to disrespect the President, but would he have gotten booted if he had insulted, say, Michelle Malkin or Herman Cain?

    • http://pennyrobinsonfanclub.net/ Penny Robinson Fan Club

Or our new senator from SC, Tim Scott? Ha, you really need an answer?

    • Michael Hampton

He didn’t insult the President. He hurled a racist slur at him. Very different.

      • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

I’m sure you’ve read or heard about the racist slurs used towards Herman Cain, Tim Scott, Michelle Malkin, Sarah Palin etc. I’m not condoning what was twitted by that idiot but it’s done against conservatives all the time.

        • Michael Hampton

So you are saying that two wrongs make a right. Got it.

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

No I’m not @twitter-18085291:disqus and you know that. That is if you actually read my last sentence. As usual you don’t like it when I point out something that is done to conservatives or contradicts what you posted. Got it….SMH

          • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

No I’m not @twitter-18085291:disqus and you know that. That is if you actually read my last sentence. As usual you don’t like it when I point out something that is done to conservatives or contradicts what you posted. Got it….SMH

        • TJ Wright

Your argument would have more weight if you were lamenting the general disintegration of civil discourse regarding politics and political figures. I’m sorry but Malkin, Coulter, Limbaugh Weiner/Savage, Focus on the Family, Dobson, Fischer, Palin, Hannity, O’Reilley, Joe Wilson, Allen West, Flanders, Breitbart, etc., etc., and many assorted, so called “teapartiers” are largely to blame.

    • http://twitter.com/rashiedrushing Rashied Rushing

      Yes.

  • o0Nighthawk0o

Would he have been booted if he replaced the ‘er’ with an ‘a’ ?

  • Joe W.

What a bunch of hogwash. Liberal turd hurlers belch out far more vile and disgusting things, and are given a pass. Jason Biggs comes to mind…

    • Michael Hampton

Jason Biggs didn’t hurl racist slurs at people. He is also not the President of the United States.

      • Joe W.

So misogynistic, sexist slurs are O.K. but not racist slurs?? got it, lib.
As for him not being the President? What does THAT have to do with
anything. Barky deserves ZERO respect, pal. He’ll get NONE from me.

      • mike_in_kosovo

I must’ve missed where we’re supposed to respect the person holding the office vice the office itself. That said, the slur *was* beyond the bounds and I agree with the actions taken by the school.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Marcy-Cook/1001619613 Marcy Cook

If Bradley was black or a far left lunatic this would be a non-starter. Hypocrisy anyone?

    • Michael Hampton

So you are defending a man using that particular racist slur against the President of the United States. How nice.

      • Joe W.

Just calling a spade a spade, Mikey….Get over your false outrage, cupcake. That race card no longer means a damned thing.

        • http://twitter.com/hamybear Michael Hampton

No false outrage here Sweetie. I was just pointing things out.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Marcy-Cook/1001619613 Marcy Cook

OH PUHLEESE it’s you lefty morons who made racists slurs meaningless by wringing your wet panties every time someone sneezed. And when you “defend” blacks and your lefty comrades who call people vile racists names then your outrage has also become meaningless.

        • Michael Hampton

I’m not the one who is outraged Honey. I merely pointed out your defending someone calling the President of the United States the N word. You think that is great! I’m sorry you don’t like that.

  • George Washington Mclintock

Know what I’m worried about? It’s not some idiot saying some stupid b.s; It’s the media actively looking for stupid b.s to build smears around, bolster false narratives, and bolster Obama. All the while sweeping left-wing bile under the rug. What’s next? Calling the secret service if you tweet “To hell with Obama’s tax plan.” Speech police are bigger scum than racists.

    • TJ Wright

Just as easily said as “It’s the (right-wing, corporate) media (i.e., anyone of a Faux “news” network or numerous blogs) actively looking for stupid b.s to build smears around, bolster false narratives, and smear Obama”

  • Michael Hampton

And Malkin has said hateful things on twitter too. That is what you are here for. To say terrible things about democrats and liberals. That is the whole point of this website is to allow people to say terrible things about democrats and liberals. So why would Malkin be upset about someone using racist slurs against Obama? She has defended them in the past.

    • Joe W.

Please give us ONE example of a “hateful” thing that Ms. Malkin has said on Twitter. Just ONE…..I’ll wait…..

      • Grandma HeadInjury

The crickets! They’re deafening! Trollboy is such a coward, he won’t have any “proof”….

        • Michael Hampton

Says the man who doesn’t use his real name like I do. Who is a coward?

          • Grandma HeadInjury

Just internet smart, boy. Oh, and great deflection to the fact you have no proof. Move along now. You have succeeded in making me yawn just after getting up from naptime….

          • Joe W.

Most people do not use their real names on the internet, Sparkles.

      • Michael Hampton

“And, you know, here’s Malkin posting NBC’s logo photoshopped with a hammer and sickle and here’s Malkin printing Chris Matthews’ phone number in order to encourage her deranged readers to harass him for the crime of not interviewing her (on a previous book tour) politely enough, here she is calling NBC a bunch of gay muslims or something, here she is accusing NBC of news-staging, etc. etc. etc. But hey, if they’ll move some books she’ll sit down on the Today show!” Quoted off one small google search.

        • Joe W.

Hey, Cupcake…Who is the quote from?? I don’t see any of this. Just one of your pals claiming it. Show me the “hate”, Mikey or shut up and go play with your gerbils.

          • Michael Hampton

There were links at each accusation. No matter what website I put up here, you are just going to say that it is liberal and discount it. That is why I have found it better for you to find things yourself.

That particular article came from Gawker.

            http://gawker.com/5325655/michelle-malkin-babbles-racist-nonsense-on-liberal-nbc

          • Joe W.

Bwahahahahahahahha…I indulged you and went there, Princess. You criticize Ms. Malkin for some unfounded hate speech on Twitter and then you send me to the liberal rag “Gawker” that has the very hate filled article directed towards Ms. Malkin. Utter failure, fruitcake…..But nice try.

          • souphands

Hey moron, how about addressing the actual Tweets?

          • Joe W.

Sure, Shitforbrains. Care to show me ONE hateful Tweet from Ms. Malkin??

          • souphands

… you were just linked to examples which you refused to read.

          • Joe W.

So sorry, Needlenose, but I could not find ONE Tweet linked nor could I find anything “hateful”….Care to show us where YOU see it??

          • Grandma HeadInjury

Now in all fairness, Hammy posted an unbiased article. It wasn’t like they had a photoshopped a misogynistic picture of Ms. Malkin in a bikini for the sole purpose of demeaning her as a woman.

If he wasn’t so lazy, he’d have actually followed those links and found that the arguments that Gawker used were specious at best. (For example, the NBC logo was photoshopped with a dem jackass, not a hammer and sickle…to be fair, though, they are synonymous.) That’s what Hammy does. Lives lazy, says others are lazy.

So, ball’s in your court, Hamster. Let’s see you post some real proof, other than the proof that currently points to you being lazy.

          • Joe W.

Yep. And there was NO link to a “hateful Tweet”, either. His butt buddy, soupyhands is jumping in as well. We both should be cautious. Might get slapped with a wayward purse…..

          • v1cious

Ok, how about the time she accused Rachael Ray of being a terrorist sympathizer, because of HER SCARF: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/05/rachael_ray_dunkin_donuts_and.html

          • Joe W.

There was nothing about Tweets and nothing “hateful” But keep trying, Shitforbrains…

    • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

Racist and hurtful are two different things. I’ve seen more misogynistic and vile things said about those who don’t agree with the left. Anyone who posts crap like that is wrong. Again, I’m not saying what that dimwit tweeted was right but don’t act like everything racist you read on Twitchy has been originally posted by Twitchy or Michelle Malkin.

      • http://twitter.com/hamybear Michael Hampton

Then don’t act like it only comes from the left.

        • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

@twitter-18085291:disqus – do you really want to go there with me? Again, I didn’t say that and you know that. I’m always amused by the way you try to accuse me of saying things that I haven’t.

        • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

Don’t tell lies Mike or you won’t be on this site much longer.

  • cacman93

So much for freedom of speech.

  • Vickie DHaene

    Isn’t it called FREE SPEECH?!

    • $24698634

Even free speech isn’t absolute. You can’t yell fire in a crowded theater, there are legal consequences. I think calling the President of the United States a racial epithet, though not illegal, can also have consequences.

  • LibLieExposer

If only the Obama supporting racists were treated the same way, such as racist thugs Toure, Al Sharpton, Whoopi Goldberg, Chris Matthews, Andrea Mitchell, Eric Holder, the entire MSNBC staff, etc.

  • peteee363

no, i am not excusing this dumb tweet, but! if people are afraid of what they are thinking, or saying, life would be boring. let him make dumb tweets, and let us mock him. soon everybody will lose jobs over mocking obama, where does it end? by the way, when obama was making his political speach, instead of grieving, i didn’t make fun of him, or hurl insults, i turned off my tv. why did he need to make this happen at that hour? he had friday, and saturday to get this done.

  • http://twitter.com/rashiedrushing Rashied Rushing

Thank God! Some good old fashioned racism…I almost forgot what it was with the Libs decrying any and everything seen and unseen as racism!

  • http://twitter.com/rashiedrushing Rashied Rushing

BTW, my fellow conservatives…take your heads out of your, uh, posteriors. Dude made a racist statement and was dealt with appropriately. College athletes have been suspended for less. No condoning this, no freedom of speech here. I know it’s hard to recognize racism with libs hijacking the term to mean criticism/disagreement with a black lib, but come on.

    • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

I completely agree @twitter-583933586:disqus . He’s free to be a jackass but he’s not free to put the reputation of UNA on the line like that. Nor is he free to post racial slurs about the President. It wasn’t right when it was done to Bush and it’s not right towards Obama.

    • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

I see posters are defending this. Yet many of you claim to be upset over racism posted about Rep Tim Scott . Or the fraudulent outrage over RG3 being called a cornball brother and possible Republican. BE CONSISTENT. Stop pretending you are against racism when its Rep Scott RG3 and condoning this tweet empty chair birtherism I could go on and on.

  • http://twitter.com/redsoxunixgeek Smitty 

Freedom of speech does not apply to scholarship athletes. Why? Because you are representing the institution that has given you a free education based on services rendered, similar to your boss firing you for tweeting something inappropriate. Student athletes are and should be held to a higher standard, but go to deadspin and read some of those tweets, anyone should be upset reading those, no matter how much you disagree with the president.
