To the surprise of no one, House Speaker John Boehner has reportedly offered to extend the debt limit for one year.

Via the Washington Post:

House Speaker John A. Boehner has offered to push any fight over the federal debt limit off for a year, a major concession that would deprive Republicans of leverage in the budget battle but is breathing new life into stalled talks over the year-end “fiscal cliff.”

The offer came Friday, according to people in both parties familiar with the talks, as part of the latest effort by Boehner (R-Ohio) to strike a deal with President Obama to replace more than $500 billion in painful deficit-reduction measures set to take effect in January.

Conservative tweeters were not pleased:

It has happened before. In one year, it will happen again.

All the more reason for Texas to simply secede from the failed nation that is the so called “United” States of America. Y’all can have what’s left of the country. There is no hope…

We’ll allow conservatives from elsewhere to join us, but we need a text to determine if they’re truly conservative. Any suggestions?

I’m sad that I was right.

In January, while almost everyone of the Talking Heads and even many conservative websites were agreeing with Speaker Smeagol that this was the best ol’ Smeagol could get… and Smeagol himself was saying “it’s a ‘one-off’ because we have these [platinum plated] ‘Prezzy-dental Guarantees’ so the detractors are just ignorant ultra-hard Right Partisans”, I was saying that this went so well for the Progressive-Republicians that they’d repeat it again next December or January.

Look at it from the POV of the Progressives: they managed a real slow-death bleed-out wound w/almost no blow-back! All the “conservative” talkers fell into line like little ducks!

Some even said, ‘of course the cuts and adjustments are vapor! And of course Obama has no intention nor ever had the intention of keeping them! But it shows that we can atleast get him to a table to start negotiations!”

    Yeah.

    How’d that go?
I take no pleasure in this. In my father’s household Abe Lincoln was second only to Geo. Washington, and both were not-quite-deified — so the Republican Party has always had a special place in my affection.

But, folks, we can’t take it back. It is a corpse, attempts at resuscitation are futile.

Those who at this point call for us to continue a 16+year project to “take back the Republican Party” are just asking us to fritter away our resources and the remaining time.

I can make a good argument that that has always been the case, it never has been possible to retake the R-party, because we are handicapped by morality.

Since the party was infiltrated and suborned by immoral people — the “whatever it takes to win, no matter how many infants I need to grind into the edifice I’m building” variety of critter, you know: your average Progressive — in order to reverse it after they are established we would have to be the same… and I’m not willing to do that, and probably, neither are you.

Anyway, I have to leave now for a Doctor’s appointment. Droid is down, writing this on a family laptop, so I probably won’t be back until tomorrow!

    My best to you all.

Boehner can’t get the job done so he caves. What an embarrassment. If this assclown worked for me I’d have fired him for inability to meet the objectives for which he was hired.

Do we need more proof that Marxists have taken over the RINOpublican party? So now they control both major parties and we now have a one party system.
