That’s not what State Department officer Eric Nordstrom told Congress. Via the Los Angeles Times:

A State Department officer who worked in Libya has told congressional investigators that he requested more security for the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi months before it came under terrorist attack but that he received no reply from Washington, according to documents and interviews.

Eric Nordstrom, a regional security official at the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli until July, told investigators that he sent two cables to the State Department in March and July and asked that more diplomatic security agents be assigned to the lightly guarded compound in Benghazi.

Washington Post:

The State Department acknowledged Wednesday that it rejected appeals for more security at its diplomatic posts in Libya in the months before a fatal terrorist attack in Benghazi as Republicans suggested that lapses contributed to the deaths of the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans.

Security officials on the ground “repeatedly warned Washington officials of the dangerous situation” in Libya, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said in his opening statement. “Washington officials seemed preoccupied with the concept of normalization.”

Charlene R. Lamb, a deputy assistant secretary for diplomatic security, told lawmakers she refused requests for more security in Benghazi, saying the department wanted to train Libyans to protect the consulate. “Yes, sir, I said personally I would not support it,” she said.

Megyn Kelly says Biden’s statement is “directly contrary” to what State officials told Congress.

Biden lying with a big grin on his face during discussion regarding the death of 4 Americans.

  • TiLiNi

    What an annoying grin!

  • grais

    Why does Biden keep cackling?
    He looks demented.

  • redheadgrl

Biden blaming the intelligence community. I hope someone in intelligence has the balls to come out and say Biden lied in this debate.

    • orringtonmom (D)

cutter claimed that she “didn’t catch” biden saying this.

  • Stephanie T

Mr. Nordstrom and others in the intelligence community have to be beside themselves if they listened to this. This behavior of this administration is incomprehensible.

  • TitzyFritzensimmons

Biden lied on Libya and wouldn’t even use Paul Ryan’s name, calling him “my friend.” What a condescending jerk, or perhaps, he has Alzheimer’s and can’t remember his name. Also, I didn’t like Biden’s attacks towards the moderator- he was rude to both Ryan and Raddack.

    • TexasMom2012

He kept pointing his finger at Martha. I found him to be even more off putting than I expected.

Hillary is going under the bus.

    • TitzyFritzensimmons

No kidding! Bill Clinton is, even as we speak, consulting his war room on how to keep Hillary’s political career alive. If need be, Obama will throw Hillary under the bus and run over her (several times!).

  • JackThomasAZ

Was there any doubt Biden (or Obama) was lying? They are DemocRATS and their lips were moving.

  • Michael Rice

    It’s all Bush’s fault.

  • Sandy E Clanton

i bet my last dollar…it’s Stevens and the other 3 will be thrown under the bus before it’s over with…dead “dudes” can’t talk ya know! Stevens found out about gun running by Odumber and his butt buddy Holder and Stevens was fixing to spill the beans..

  • Jim Wafwot

“…the department wanted to train Libyans to protect the consulate.” That’s like asking the fox to guard the hen house. And I’m no expert, but wouldn’t the U.S. training Libyans lead to more Green-on-Blue attacks? That’s like teaching the spouse you’re abusing how to shoot a gun? Moronic!

  • Chris Yates

Another Biden lie is when he said that Romney’s initial criticial response was to the Libya attacks. No, it wasn’t. When Romney first responded and criticized, it was concerning the cairo egypt embassy protests and the apology that was issued. This was before the Libya attacks were known and in the news.

  • $18214255

when my mother in law leans over and says, ”why did he just say that he didn’t know about the attacks, there is a lot of evidence to the contrary”, you can be sure that all of rio linda caught that one too…

  • rant stocks

Obama Inc. this is what you get for the next 4 years folks, myself absolutly NO !

  • orringtonmom (D)

the good old days when candidates would dodge questions or skirt the issue. now they just make up stuff as they go along and giggle like school children.

a facebook comment i read on a friend’s status claimed biden won because he didn’t lie. wondering if the koolaid is grape flavored. i always liked grape.

  • Paul

Biden has openly sold out the Intelligence community and now, i hope some real intelligence comes forward (or accidently leaked) about wrong doings and cover-ups by the Odumber Administration. Biden has once again opened his mouth and inserted his foot. As a former intelligence officer I will admit, the last thing you want to do is sell out the intelligence community. Their ways of revenge are astronomical! Good Luck Biden, your gonna need it!
