@trscoop kindly sent us a transcript of Beckel’s remarks on Fox News Channel’s Hannity show:

“And an ambassador by the way who knew full well what he was getting into over there and not have security around him…”

Beckel isn’t fit for TV. Some of the things he says are so outrageously stupid that one can only shake their head in disbelief.

well…if he cant be fired for his multiple “f-bombs”, this wont matter either. What a disgusting guy.

I would love to ask Beckel if he’s heard of a Barry Soetoro.

The more I read and hear about this, the worse it gets all around. State Dept was fatally negligent on this. There is no way you discount the fact that 9/11 is approaching, anywhere in the Muslim world, for the rest of all time.

That is always going to be a day for them to plan for, unless we eliminate them or vice versa. We have the ability to forgive, they do not.

    • http://www.facebook.com/johnny.banco.7 Johnny Banco

I saw on another site that Obama’s administration had a 4-day warning that these attacks were coming. I guess(?) we’ll see how true that claim ends up being, but no one with a functioning brain will be the least bit surprised if that turns out to be the truth.

You can contact the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, which will have a meeting on Sept 22 about EGYPT! Call for transparency and for firing Hillary Clinton for dereliction of duty or treason.

  • bkeyser

I’m not defending Beckel here, but something is very, very wrong with the situation surrounding that mission.

How long was Stevens in Benghazi? Who authorized him to be there and who authorized the security level that ended up getting four people killed and many more wounded? Unsecured building. Unsecured exit. Unsecured safe house. In the wild, wild east of Libya on the anniversary of 9/11. This just doesn’t happen. Is it possible that the reportedly brilliant diplomatic mind of Stevens felt it was necessary to wing it in order to achieve some diplomatic goal being ignored by his bosses?

I get the feeling that support from stateside was utterly lacking -probably due to the overall disengagement policy being practiced by the Obama Administration- and maybe, just maybe Stevens took it upon himself to engage… someone… in an effort to not completely cede US involvement in an area he surely knew was critical to maintain some influence.

And while it might be easy to throw Stevens under the Obama bus with so many others who’ve crossed him, it would be more evidence of a State Department lacking control. Anyone remember the SoS pulling back from tweets by her own people regarding Cairo? Yeah, me too. They can’t hand Romney a “leadership” issue that hurt both Obama and Hillary.

Just one of many guesses I have on this whole thing. As I said, way too much of this doesn’t add up, and the gag-order issued by Preezy is surely meant to throw the media off the trail. (Admittedly, not a difficult thing to do.)

    • James Walker

Who authorized him to be there? He is the Ambassador. Since when does an Ambassador have to get authority to visit one of the missions he or she is responsible for?

      • bkeyser

I don’t know. I would assume an Ambassador doesn’t travel at his own accord, nor conduct US business that isn’t pre-authorized by State. Would you contend otherwise?

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002109532283 Jillane Kent

Generally they do not enter a very dangerous region of the country they represent, with very little by way of security/after a trip abroad/late at night/on the eve of an anniversary that inflames the citizenry/in a non armored care/after credible intelligence warned of a possible attack etc, etc,

    • J. Cox

The state dept. decides when and how much security is needed at any given embassy. The fact that the Libyan government is saying this was planned some months before hand, and intel was given at least 4 days prior that “something’ was going to go down, shows that the people higher up failed, not the Amb.The most he could have done was request more sec.,and we do not know if he was aware that he needed it,or that he did request it.The fault ultimately lies at the top, where leadership is supposed to reign.

      • bkeyser

I guess you missed the “going rogue” aspect of my comment. I realize what’s supposed to happen, what I’m wondering is: did inaction by State and the Administration lead to Stevens doing things outside the normal protocol? We’ll never know -unless one of the evacuated speaks up- but for someone supposedly so in tune with the area, you would think he’d be smart enough to know that the situation State was placing him in wasn’t tenable. And he wouldn’t put others in harm’s way without good cause. Unless, maybe, he was acting somewhat on his own.

No one from the administration that likes to boast about their super fabulous foreign policy has even hinted that Stevens was on a critical diplomatic mission as to why he was there in the first place. Why?

        • J. Cox

No,I agree with your assessment. That going rogue part I just didn’t want to touch as it then leads to more questions that we will probably never have answered.I do know he was well liked there, and the Libyan government has been more forthcoming than our own.I hope his work there at least did some good with the leadership.

    • Donna W

I see your point, but Ambassador Stevens was very well recieved in Libya..to the point that the Libyan leader has been more truthful about who caused the attacks than our own Government, who are in full campaign “cover your butt” mode.
It seems as it Stevens was dealing with people who are like a pack of pitt bulls, they might be friendly for awhile, but will turn on you unexpectedly and go for the throat. He obviously was getting intel that something was up, and the very people who were supposed to send him protection, let him die. The men that were there, made a valient effort, but were overcome with ease. Who gave the order for them to have no live rounds, or only carry light weapons? That would appear to be a set-up…
The thing that bothers me, is why did ‘they’ even bother to have that idiot make a trailer about M? All Obama had to do after the attacks, was come out looking Presidential and like things are were in control. It would have been good for his campaign, but now there’s so much covering for all the lies they’ve told, they are starting to lose it. The fact that every one of them – Obama, Hillary, Jarrett, Rice, etc kept trumpeting the same garbage “it was the trailer to the movie that started it”, appears that their remarks are scripted and set-up in advance.
That trailer wasn’t necessary in order for Islamic extremists to pull this off…it was a co-ordinated attack, it’s obvious to even the simplest of simpletons like me.
So who is Susan Rice helping to cover for?
(I hope my post makes even the slightest bit of sense)

      • bkeyser

I largely agree. In fact, my initial thoughts on this issue involved complete failure in the State Department as nearly everyone here has suggested. That’s most likely the case. Again, I think it’s a policy of disengagement. The leadership seems to spend more time partying than working, and that leadership example always seems to trickle down; see: GAO, DoJ, VA, etc.

They also seem to employ the Weinergate defense to absolutely anything that calls into question their leadership and judgement. Someday, probably sooner than we all think, we’ll get a fairly accurate picture of what happened. And whatever the actual case, there was surely a lapse by someone appointed by the Obama Administration. This was a political failure and just like F&F, people died.

        Makes Nixon’s Watergate look amateur.

      • http://pennyrobinsonfanclub.net/ PennyRobinsonFanClub

Sounds like the scene in Godfather when he’s back in Sicily, all of a sudden everybody starts walking away, and his wife gets the car bomb meant for him.

  • http://www.facebook.com/johnny.banco.7 Johnny Banco

How exactly is Beckel’s comment a form of blame that should be condemned – is having reservations about the judgement of someone who’d whack a hornet’s nest while not wearing any protection now going to be considered a cold-hearted, ‘blame the victim’ personal attack, too?

Getting so excited over what he said is the kind of reaction I’d expect from children on the Left’s playground, not from people on the Right…

I’m editing here to clarify my point: I DO realize his comment may end up being EXTREMELY offensive; I am merely waiting for more data to come in before I arrive at that sort of conclusion.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002109532283 Jillane Kent

So you agree with Beckel and choose to blame the deceased instead of those that caused his death?

      • http://www.facebook.com/johnny.banco.7 Johnny Banco

Reading comprehension is NOT your strong suit, is it? LOL

That sole comment ALONE does NOT indicate that Beckel was callously blaming Stevens for his own death, and I am not going to hastily jump to a conclusion like you have about it. Before I would pin your interpretation to what he said, I choose to wait for more background about what meant, because it’s possible what he said wasn’t as bad as you are making it out to be…

  • Postbackxp

Beckel old saying that you need to learn.
Never speak ill of the Dead. This will come back
    to haunt your fat butt.

  • Obnoxious_Idiot

Watching idiots like Beckel implode is actually amusing. As they slip into obscurity, they feel the need to say obscene or outlandish statements. The further they slip, the more frequent and obscene the statements are. Eventually no matter what they say or when they say it, nobody cares and they are forgotten.

  • Owen007

I think it was Ace who I first saw raise this possibility that Stevens would be the liberals’ fall guy for this mess. Stevens unfortunately is the perfect Democratic scapegoat. He’s not around to offer a different point-of-view or even defend himself.

But hey, clearly it must be a State Department subordinate that’s responsible for the State Department’s overwhelming failures in this situation. Yeah, the same it’s clear that Beckel knows what a stairmaster looks like.

Speaking of which, Beckel most likely blames his monstrous weight on a guy flipping burgers instead of the porcine hand that keeps shoving them into his mouth, so go figure on his ability to determine where blame should be laid.

  • marcellucci

    Dear Bob Beckel…..
Is Ambassador Stevens better off than he was 4 years ago?……
    Just asking…..

  • gracepmc

I’m as conservative as they come and usually don’t side with BB but I do not think he was blaming Stevens for his own death. He was commenting on the “situation” and since DOS has shut down all info. we won’t know anything until Obama is out of office.
This kind of rant doesn’t serve us very well. Between Obama, Hillary and the Susans and Valerie and the leftist media propagandists there are more reckless and dangerous people than Bob Beckel this time around.

  • Love of Country

Bob Beckel is a useful idiot though his usefulness is still quite a mystery, no?

  • allenbarr

i reacon if BB were speaking the truth that would mean that anyone sent to Lybia as an ambassador is going on a suiside mission.

  • billiam

Bob is still a dry drunk, prone to making sick and foolish statements. I don’t think he’s a bad person, just a stupid one who can’t think straight.

    • http://www.facebook.com/errol.carlstrom Errol Carlstrom

I believe there is truth in your post. Bob lashes out instead of debating.

  • EastValleyConservative

My brother in law often stands up for this idiot saying that it must be hard to be surrounded by 4 conservatives on a show and that he has to be defensive. But Bob isn’t defensive–he usually goes into a vile rage and spews nonsense, or in this case, willful and deliberate ignorance.

  • Paul C.

Bob is a drunk and a moron. I watch the 5 and he isn’t even up to date half the time. I think it’s time to replace him.

  • http://twitter.com/islandfeline Amanda St.Thomas

This administration is so inept that if it was not such a serious matter it would be laughable. As for Bobby boy, he is just an overweight (not listening to Mooschelle are we) liberal hack that for some reason continues to be paid an unholy amount of money for doing nothing except providing a national forum for Barry O. Hail Obama, right Bobby? Or is that Booby?

  • cscape

folks….. alcoholism is a terrible affliction…… please give Bob a pass on the reprehensible crap that emanates from his pie hole!

    • TomJB

No, even if he were drunk at the time, alcohol lowers inhibitions and would only make him more likely to say what he actually thinks. He, and he alone, is fully responsible for his remarks, no matter his physical or psychological state.

      • cscape

i was being facetious (of course) tom….. not making fun of alcoholism – just pointing out some of the psychological problems (stopping short of calling Beckel MENTALLY ILL) he has to deal with

    • http://www.facebook.com/errol.carlstrom Errol Carlstrom

Yes, alcholism is difficult….I have been in recovery and sober for 35 years and will not give BB as pass. His behavior is that of a dry drunk that is not working his program. His behavior is unacceptable.

  • Donna W

I wish the Military could march into DC and arrest several persons, incarcerate them with no bond, until their trial.
Bob Beckel is just a fat, talking head with space for rent between the ears. He sits on the set and plays with his iPhone like a chubby toddler. He’s disgusting.
I had heard a news report (somewhere, and no link to back it, sorry) where Ambassador Stevens had indeed questioned whether or not they had enough security. Here is an example of yet another US Ambassador to Tunisia begging for security: http://news.yahoo.com/tunisia-islamist-flees-mosque-where-holed-3804029.html?_esi=1
quote: “as the U.S. ambassador to Tunisia faulted local security measures around
the embassy as “inadequate” and asked they be increased.”
I hope and pray the US Government sends the man security, maybe they could borrow some of Valerie Jarrett’s. She made sure SHE had enough security around her.

  • redheadgrl

Why do they keep having Bob Beckel on these shows? Humor factor? (Though this statement isn’t funny)

  • ajhatz

Here’s the thing Beckel, isn’t entirely wrong. Stevens did have the liberal viewpoint that the alligator will eat him last if he just showed enough empathy to the Libyans. No doubt in my mind that his viewpoint was reflected in his decisions regarding security.

    • http://www.facebook.com/errol.carlstrom Errol Carlstrom

I agree that Sevens took the liberal viewpoint. Had he had a conservative viewpoint he would called in the Marines for protection, as should all of our emb’s around the world on 9/11.

  • http://www.facebook.com/oldemacd John MacDonald

How about dumping Beckel from FOX. Time to flush the toilet. He is the reason I turned off the 5. Fox dosen’t need anymore horses ASSES then they have,. Honest Debate is dead. It is all media fed. With telaprompters. wathch their eyes they are all on script. The f bomb by Beckel, nothing more than a fool getting attention

  • DorothyGrissom

OMG. What does it take for Fox to dump Beckel? Amazingly stupid.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jimbillie.anderson Jim-Billie Anderson

Why does the producer of Foxnews “The Five” continue to have such a low-class member of that show? Bob Beckel just continues to drag the show and the other four down in the muck and mud with his gutter language. When will his ill-temper along with his filthy language be his own undoing?
