As Twitchy reported earlier today, there was a shooting at Perry Hall High School in Baltimore County, Md. Numerous Twitter users are reporting that a brave, unarmed Perry Hall guidance counselor, Jesse Wasmer, tackled the suspected shooter.

How many lives were saved as a result of Wasmer’s heroism? Twitchy salutes you, Mr. Wasmer.

Baltimore County shooting suspect was bullied?

WBALTV reporter blasts Twitchy as irresponsible

A very brave act and it is great to see so much support from the students!!

and now he will be sued by the shooter…

You’re probably right sad to say

And chastised by the union for not following protocol and locking himself in a room and cowering in fear.

    • George Murrey

If he is sued, we should all come together in his defense with donations to offset the court costs. This man is a true hero and should be looked up to.

Great man and looks to have some fine students, also!

Looks like Bobby Gladden planned this, as posted on his Facebook page, “First day of school, last day of my life. t(~_~t), fuck the world”, posted via his cell phone.

Good job spamming. As an adult and parent I can say that I feel for the alleged perpetrator. The child shot displayed behavior that bullied. How dare you judge without knowing all the facts. You obviously do not have children.

        You’re a nut.

“The child shot displayed behavior that bullied.”

You are claiming that the boy with Down syndrome was bullying the shooter to the point that he couldn’t take it anymore? I hope you go read the other story where the students that were behaving in a way that might be construed as bullying admit that while they were aimed at, the shooter missed them and hit the young man with Down syndrome instead.

I get that you are trying to say that the bullying shouldn’t have happened. Why not say that when *you* didn’t know all the facts yet?

Great job by Mr. Wasmer! Too bad he didn’t beat the little bastard to death while he was at it.

  • Lisa

Theres a girl that said he should have tackled her into his bed. I hope she gets the concept that the man is about protecting youth not abusing it!!! Her comment could be misconstrued and get him into shitloads of legal trouble and jail time!
