Hey, how ’bout that?

In “How the GOP became the white supremacy party — and got away with it,” writer Chauncey DeVega goes full smear-job on Paul Ryan and the other “racial political arsonists” in the GOP. A few gems from the Salon piece:

Paul Ryan is the leader of a political party that is the country’s premier white identity organization.

* * *

Paul Ryan traffics in racism because the Republican Party is a racist organization.

* * *

Instead of trying to figure out “if” Paul Ryan is a racist, the more revealing question is “what type of racist is he?”

Weasel Zippers has more here.

Townhall editor Katie Pavlich and others noted a name that was mysteriously absent from the tiresome tirade: Robert Byrd.

More reaction:

Rich Lowry’s take on Paul Ryan’s supposed bigotry is here:

  • LegalizeShemp

Democrats know all about racism in politics, as they have been it’s chief purveyors since 1861.

    • robert97

The Dems were the racist party well before that of course.

      • LegalizeShemp

True, they began in 1828, and got things started right away with Andrew Jackson, one of the most racist Prezzy’s ever !

        • freeinaz

Don’t forget the famous Woodrow Wilson-Democrat and racist.

          • iconoclast

Wilson was worse than a Democrat–he was a progressive Democrat. He hated the Constitution, blacks, and free speech. Which is why the progressives love him so much.

    • JMW

Yep. But, the media have been pushing this narrative forever with NO pushback from the republicans…. same with the #WaronWomen BS… no pushback from republicans=people start to believe it…..
It’s way past time for all of us to start pushing back….. on Twitter, Facebook, Blogs and Letters to the editor…. the left must be fought on all grounds or we will lose the cultural and political war for the direction of our nation…the direction being towards freedom/limited government or towards more and more tyranny…which we seem to be getting now through Obama and Holder.

      • rore73

You are exactly right JMW – The left continues to push these fabricated crises and the GOP doesn’t react thinking the claims are so ridiculous that nobody would possibly believe them. However, through repetition, the lame brained liberals adopt a mantra and keep passing it on to other lame-brained liberals, and before we know it the liberals have a cause to rally around, based on some pseudo crisis. We’ve remained silent too long!

    • Jeffrey Lamela

You don’t need to go back that far. It was Republicans who pushed through civil rights legislation. Remember also what Lyndon Johnson said about whom he would having voting democratic for the next 200 years. The left has an “answer” for all of this of course with their ludicrous revisionist narrative of how all of the segregationist democrats from those days somehow became today’s Republicans and vice-versa.

  • tops116 ✓Quipper

The GOP is a white supremacy party? I’ll bet that’s news to Tim Scott.

    • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

And Allen West, and Mia Love, and Stacey Dash, and Ben Carson, and the numerous average black Americans who don’t vote Democrat.

      • mrspinky85

I raise my hand too. I am not a Republican but I do hold conservative values. But, I have been called all sorts of things my whole life. Unlike,a democrat I don’t blame white people, men, or God. I just keep it moving and live my life. I don’t try to ban what people say to me either. Because banning speech shows that it somehow affects you. And I could care less what people think of me.
And I won’t toe any line just because the skin I happen to have or my gender God gave me. I didn’t get to choose those things but I can choose what I believe

        • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

Democrats don’t want you to be able to believe what you want.

          • Mark81150 Never/Trump/Hillary

No they don’t.. it has to be strictly in line with the liberal fringes dogma, or they reach for the branding irons. “Let’s burn a big R for racism riiiiiiight here”….

It’s almost surreal that a few even believe it.. what makes democrats down right evil with this, is they know, mostly, exactly what a cynical ploy it is. Catch a liberal away from the group where they can’t get a bully’s re-enforcement from a mob, and most will admit that target A is not a racist.. but excuse the smear by rushing to add, the GOP is,… see how that works?..

I used to wonder how so many people could be such willing tools of evil in Germany, Russia, people who knew better, weren’t street thugs, or uneducated peasants.. How could so many, willingly, happily, proudly feed their neighbors into the left’s wood chippers..

It all comes down to power.. They want it, and are so lacking in basic humanity, the left’s use of any means suits them just fine. There is NO moral difference between that Salon writer, and the Soviet officer in charge of the Gulags… None.. he’s a thug, and won’t stop till his own side turns on him for the evil he does…. which is unlikely..

      • Norm McDonald

The left wing monsters will resort to pure hatred for these conservative blacks. Despicable …..beyond believe how low these pigs are: “I hate ’em” to quote my black God daughter….

        • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

We’ve all seen examples of the true face of liberalism come out any time a black person strays too far from the Democrat plantation. We’ve all heard the things libs and Dems have said to the likes of Carson, Dash, Love, and West.

          • mrspinky85

It happens all time with average folk too. I argue with liberal family and friends. The difference is if I make a good point they just change the subject or stop the conversation.

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

I’ve yet to make it through a full discussion with my liberal cousin. He’ll bring up the subject of income inequality or the economy or Obamacare and stuff like that, and within 5 minutes he’s trying to talk about sports or the weather. Because he knows he is wrong and he has no real defenses.

          • http://www.freedomreconnection.com/ FreedomRecon

But he “feels” he is right. Am I right?

          • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

He thinks he is right, yes. He even claimed that my mom was going to have an easier time with her healthcare now thanks to Obamacare, and when I produced the cancellation letter she got he tried to talk about The Walking Dead to deflect from the topic that HE brought up.

He got really upset when I called him the Walking Dead (for walking around an Obama zombie and lacking any free thought)

          • http://www.freedomreconnection.com/ FreedomRecon

            LOL Good one!

          • mrspinky85

The Walking Dead, I believe, refers to the people who are alive too. Instead of looking at their situation as is they keep reach for what’s behind. The left are the walking dead going in a direction that doesn’t make sense. They are just following a group. Unlike the shows characters who chose to fight for the life they want, liberals just go along to geta long. And they remain trapped in a Zombie like state refusing to wake up because being a Zombie is easier.

          • Humanary Stew

The living in the show and comics are called the walking dead because they are already infected. When they die, they always come back to life. They don’t even have to be bitten by a zombie. Which makes using the reference describing progressives is so apt, since their minds are infected.

          • mrspinky85

Oh, yea. I forgot about that part. Your analysis still works. :)

          • Tim Pruett

Yeah, but they know how to wander up to the polling places and cast their votes early and often.

          • PatriotRG

he didnt really change the subject , Obama care is a zombie law

          • Ray Mccollum

No, he ‘feels’ he is right because if he thought, he may come to the conclusion that he is wrong!

          • Frogmouth

            I dunno…do you feel right?

          • Tom

The problem is you are evil for bringing facts into the argument. Facts are fine as long as they re-enforce the liberal agenda. Facts which they use by picking and choosing and facts that they like to compare like apples and oranges. Just don’t use facts that counter their argument, or you are just being evil. EVIL as in a racist, religious zealot, or lover of firearms, but most outrageous is your utter belief that the bill of rights and the constitution are right and just. Believers in the constitution should just go to hell!!! Wait, but for there to be a hell there must be a God and there can’t be a God. Tell a liberal atheist he/she will go to hell, and watch them look like they are about to explode. Really, why would someone that doesn’t believe in God get so upset about being told they will go to hell?

          • Humanary Stew

Keep fighting the good fight. It takes a strong conviction to go against the grain.

          • Ms. Abigail van Beagle

I love it when you ask for something solid, not just “I know you’re a racist because you are”, and they start to froth at the mouth and stomp their feet and flap their arms. It’s really quite gratifying, but it wouldn’t happen if they had any facts in their arsenal.

  • LegalizeShemp

Never ask a Democrat voter for ID, it’ll make you a racist and make it very difficult for them to win elections.

    • mrspinky85

But they got an ID for the protest.

    • Mark81150 Never/Trump/Hillary

You absolutely know it all about democrats protecting voting fraud.. When we called their bluff and offered to make State ID’s free in the run up to an election.. They said NO.. to free ID’s for low income voters, when they said that it made voting hard because low income blacks couldn’t afford them..

So we offered them free ID’s…

and their answer was to both scream no no no no…. then heap on racist again.

liars.. it’s all about them stealing elections, nothing else.

    • right_on

Black voters who scream “NO” regarding having Voter I.D. laws, is because somewhere down the line, it was suggested that “the man” was going to use it to cross-check names for “Wants and Warrants.”
That’s all this is, and is why THEY think it’s racist…look at criminal demographics, and prison stats to see how it’s plays into the RACIST narrative. They haven’t quite figured out that it isn’t true. Even if it was true, those with warrants just wouldn’t vote. I doubt voting is high on the list of criminals anyway, is it?

      • Ty in TX ✓ᵇᵒⁿᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

        >>>Black voters who scream “NO” regarding having Voter I.D. laws, is
because somewhere down the line, it was suggested that “the man” was

I’ve heard that argument too Right. My response? How is it racist to ask for an ID to make sure everyone is getting their ONE vote, but telling black people to not get a free ID to vote because it’ll be used to track your warrants not? I mean, come on!

  • Carolyn#OYSD

The left just needs to keep repeating the same HISTORICALLY and FACTUALLY innacurate narrative often and loudly in order for the low intelligence…sorry, my bad…INFORMATION voter to believe.

And believe they will. Mostly because they’re too lazy to actually google Civil Rights and see exactly WHO was on which side.

    • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

What’s even more pathetic is that many Americans have all the information in the world, in a hand held device, yet choose to remain ignorant.

      • http://www.freedomreconnection.com/ FreedomRecon

But even with the facts, their auto-response is well, the parties have changed. Dems are now Reps, and Reps are now Dems.

        • Hey, That’s Pretty Good

They don’t even realize how pathetic that excuse really is. Al Gore is the same party that his daddy was. His daddy, who voted against the Civil Rights Act, was a Democrat. Libs can tell themselves “What used to be Republicans are now Democrats, and vice versa,” but it’s just a pathetic excuse they’ve come up with to justify being part of the party who stood against the Civil Rights Act and formed the KKK.

          • Bruce

Nah, it’s not to justify it. It’s to try and hide the fact that they’ve just switched the slaves from unwillingly picking cotton to willingly picking Democrat votes. The Democrats only care about blacks in that they care about keeping them under their thumb and “in their place” as I’m sure Byrd-brain would have said.

    • Ray Mccollum

You’re right, they actually think George Wallace was a civil rights hero…..either that or a great black comedian, which he is!

  • http://twitter.com/thetugboatphil TugboatPhil

We had a story on local news about a State Delegate using the term “tar baby” in a public setting. Naturally the local NAACP went nuts, and our new “governor” Terry McAwful blasted the guy. The news station wouldn’t even say the term because it was so “offensive.”

I went to their website and found the story. The first comment was something like. “He’s a Republican, what did you expect.” So I furnished him with our new Sec of State uttering the same phrase on natioal TV and also threw in Bob Byrd for good measure.

Oh yeah, Youtube has scrubbed the video. This is from Ebaumsworld.

The other party prefers to pander to their government union base. Which is the racist party?

Here’s some quotes from Democrats that might undermine this false talking point from Politico (Sorry if any of this offends anyone, I just need to make a point):

“I think one man is just as good as another so long as he’s not a n*gger or a Chinaman. Uncle Will says that the Lord made a White man from dust, a n*gger from mud, then He threw up what was left and it came down a Chinaman. He does hate Chinese and Japs. So do I. It is race prejudice, I guess. But I am strongly of the opinion Negroes ought to be in Africa, Yellow men in Asia and White men in Europe and America.” -Harry Truman in a letter to his future wife Bess

“You cannot go to a 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian Accent.” -Senator Joe Biden on the campaign trail in 2008

“Is you their black-haired answer-mammy who be smart? Does they like how you shine their shoes, Condoleezza? Or the way you wash and park the whitey’s cars?” – Left-wing radio host Neil Rogers

Blacks and Hispanics are “too busy eating watermelons and tacos” to learn how to read and write.” — Mike Wallace, CBS News

“You f*cking Jew [email protected]” — Hillary Clinton to political operative Paul Fray (this was confirmed by Fray and three other witnesses. So not only did she aide terrorists with Benghazi, but she’s Anti-Semitic as well, good pick you got there libs!!)

“Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.” – Former Klansman and former US Senator Robert Byrd, a man who is referred to by many Democrats as the “conscience of the Senate”, in a letter written in 1944

I stood my ground, told them off in explicit terms that they were acting like asses, they were racists, and I wouldn’t allow those words, those statements to stand in my presence.. Notice how they are never forgiving of their opposition’s saying “I didn’t mean it that way” (though why one would need to apologize for having told the truth even if inartfully– by the way, the word Ryan should have used– begs the question that he needed to apologize at all). But they are the first, when confronted with what the RESULT of what they’ve advocated is presented to them, to say, in effect, “That’s not what we meant when we supported X.”

I just want to tell these fools to GTFOH and come back when you’ve got something new. In the meantime, I won’t be holding my breath.

This is my go-to for actual facts on the relationship between blacks and the Democrat party and the truth about the party’s history: http://www.nbra.info

If you mention the Dem racist past, some of them will trot out a tale about how at one point all the racist haters left the dems and moved to the republican party, creating the evil racist party of today. This article debunks that bit of fiction: http://nbra.info/FrequentlyAskedQuestions#The__Dixiecrats__Remained_Democrats

      “The “Dixiecrats” Remained Democrats

The so-called “Dixiecrats” remained Democrats and did not migrate to the Republican Party. The Dixiecrats were a group of Southern Democrats who, in the 1948 national election, formed a third party, the State’s Rights Democratic Party with the slogan: “Segregation Forever!” Even so, they continued to be Democrats for all local and state elections, as well as for all future national elections.”

      • ledzepp8

Exactly right. To hear the left/media tell it, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin, Paul Ryan, etc are all the dumbest most racist people in the world, who just make a mockery of themselves and the GOP, and yet they all live rent free in their minds. They’re so threatened by them it’s not even funny.

      • Ray Mccollum

  • desicon

They get away because republicans act stupid. Paul Ryan pandering by supporting Amnesty sends the message of guilt.

  • ledzepp8

You just have to love the progressive logic. Paul Ryan says (to paraphrase) that inner city families are breaking down and there is no one to teach young kids proper work ethic and therefore they aren’t working/lack a desire to work and that we all need to do something to try and correct this dilemma. He says that and somehow the progressive left spins as him being racist and or catering to the mythical racist right for votes. What sense does that make? Hey racist right winger, with your help we can get blacks, you know the people you hate because they’re black, working again. Yeah that’s the ticket. God these people are loony tunes. And I don’t even really like Paul Ryan.

    • mrspinky85

Who stops you? That’s why these race baiters get away with it. Liberals get to control the language. Also, they hold trinkets out for whatever group they can cast. People who want to be free would notice that they have to change their own situation and stop looking to man to be their Savior.
Blacks talk to other blacks all the time. Which I don’t get. Japanese Americans got over the concentration camps, Jews are successful, and Irish Americans were discrimination too. But some blacks stay stuck because of a victim mindset that says blacks need help or saving. This way of thinking keeps most looking everywhere but in the mirror for a way to change.

      • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Wanna have fun with something here?

I can recall working thirty years ago in a predominantly-black area (I am white, just to clarify) in which a local Korean businessman was running for some office as a Republican. His deal was that, years before Bulworth, he told the locals that the Dems took them for granted and really didn’t care if anything ever changed for black people. He said that there were plenty of programs that weren’t specifically aimed at black people that could nonetheless be accessed by them, and many of those programs were based on things Republicans had proposed.

Essentially he said, the Republicans haven’t made it any worse for you, while the Democrats HAVE. But you don’t seem to wanna give ’em their propers (as Aretha would say), and it’d be no wonder if they were to give up on you, just like a suitor whom it eventually dawns on that the young woman’s head isn’t going to be turned– why should he want to look like a stalker? “Maybe someday our paths will cross again, who knows? But till then…”

The predictable happened, of course, and this guy got like three votes.

        • mrspinky85

I alluded this to the girl who keeps getting abused but when someone tries to help her she says no. She says she loves him. That’s how some on the left act. • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

See, sooner or later, somebody as bold as brass will come right out and say it, just like that, and will be called every name in the book but the one their parents gave them. And they’ll be condemned for making light of domestic violence, so anybody who’s gonna say something like that had best be very vocal on that subject, too (as part and parcel of the larger issue of the breakdown of the family, to be sure, but they need to speak specifically on the literal-abuse issue). Not to mention, be spotless-clean in their own life.

Next time you have the misfortune to be in the immediate company of liberals, ask them specifically what it is that the Republican party does that makes them racist. My experience is that they sputter, swear, fire shoots out of their eyes and they start babbling on about how the party of today is a racist monster, blah, blah. Nothing specific or tangible. Most have accepted the revisionist history that says the dems freed the slaves, fought for desegregation, etc.

I wish that were indeed the case. Then maybe the Republican Party wouldn’t support affirmative action, mass non-White immigration, aid to Africa, etc…

The immigration reforms that Paul Ryan is trying to push through Congress will increase the number of people legally moving to the USA annually from the current number of 1.3 million to a whopping 3+ million. And over 85% of the immigrants that have come to the USA since the 1960s have been non-White. These figures don’t even include illegal immigration which numbers in the hundreds of thousands annually.

Yep, those sure look like racist White Supremacist policies to me…

The bipartisan support for open borders should enrage White right-wingers and galvanize them to kick him – and those like him – out of office. Instead, they come to his aid like a bunch of spineless and politically correct morons…

The arguments that were made in that blog entry about why blacks lag behind Whites are so tired and easily refuted by statistical scientific evidence. Go look up race and IQ statistics. We’ve known for a scientific fact for several decades that blacks are indeed inherently mentally inferior to Whites. That’s the real reason why they lag behind every other race all throughout the world. And far from being brutally oppressed by (genetically based) White Supremacy – both consciously and unconsciously -, blacks have their highest standards of living in the advanced societies created by Whites. Blacks being brought to the Americas as slaves was the best thing that ever happened to their race. And if they’re offended by that ugly truth, then by all means, they’re more than welcome to return to their native lands which have the lowest standards of living on the planet.

Liberal efforts to portray non-Whites, females, non-Christians and homosexuals as brutally oppressed and vulnerable victims is little more than a cynical conspiracy to justify handouts and systematic discrimination against supposed privileged oppressors; not to mention that it’s a great way for blacks to blame their chronic global failings on something other than their own inferior genes…

“We’ve known for a scientific fact for several decades that blacks are indeed inherently mentally inferior to Whites.”

You have to be a progressive plant. You’re not welcome in my Republican party. GTFO. Your little study you cited at the end of your post was far from conclusive as to IQ being completely genetically linked. Others later pointed out that lower IQ’s could have also been attributed to prenatal conditions, as the children’s birth parents were still black and still feeling the effects of Jim Crow laws.

BTW, here’s a list of blacks who made huge contributions in science and related fields:

In conclusion, your little tirade is nothing more than racism disguised as conservatism. Be gone with you and your mental gymnastics.

And if I am mistaken but didn’t the Democrats intern Japanese citizens? I do recall that. And I guess that “writer’ forgot that Republicans passed the 13th 14th 15th Amendments. They passed the first civil rights in 1866; passed the Reconstruction Act of 1867; they passed their second one in 1957, opposed by Democrats and reintroduced and passed a second civil rights bill in 1960 with all votes against coming from Democrats
Republicans created the Commission on Civil Rights and in the 1964 Civil Rights Act voted in far greater numbers and Democrats
That’s the reader’s digest version but this writer must be delusional. If i’m not mistaken but wasn’t Justice Hugo Black a member of the KKK at one time? Never confuse a libereal with the facts. It confuses them

Everyone forgets that the KKK was founded and staffed by all Democrats. Everyone forgets that it was Lincoln who was a Republican was behind freeing the slaves and giving them all the freedoms the whites had under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Everyone forgets the vast number of Republicans who marched with Dr. King. Everyone forgets it was the Democrats who developed and pushed the Welfare act and Food Stamps all in an attempt to keep control over Black Americans and have their votes. Just think about this most Black Americans who leave the Democrats and become Republican tend to be wealthier and have more stable home lives. Makes you wonder why the mixed message, could it be another attempt at brainwashing?

(Reprinted here from an earlier post of mine on “backpedaling”…)
A real historic racist was ol’ Governor Lester Maddox of Georgia (famous for riding his bicycle backwards, sitting on the handlebars). He was in almost every parade in Atlanta and most in Georgia for a long time. This was one of his trademarks. And he was an old school racist that had his restaurant closed down (the Pickrick Restaurant in Underground Atlanta) after he refused to serve some black students from Georgia Tech in 1964. (If I recall correctly, he was sued, and he lost. The judge ordered him to choose: have his restaurant serve blacks, or close it down. He closed it.)

His other trademark was the pick ax, while he was running for governor of Georgia in 1965-1966 and was enthusiastically supported by the Ku Klux Klan. He sold ax handles for $2 each to help raise money for his campaign, and he won!

    Lester Maddox was a Democrat.

OK, I’ve done this before, and here’s the link to the site:

Regarding the libel of “all those Southen’ redneck segregationists became the Republicans,” and somehow drive Republican victories:
1960: Kennedy took the south, except Fla.

1964: Goldwater took 5 southern states
1968: Wallace took 5 southern states. Humphrey took Texas. Nixon took the rest. Humphrey only took 12 states total.

1972: Yes, Nixon took the South, but he took the entire country. Except Massachusetts, of course.
1976: Carter swept the south, except Virginia, and including Texas.

1980: Reagan swept the country, of course, almost as resoundingly as Nixon in ’72. Alone in the South, Georgia went for home son Carter.
1984: Another blowout. Reagan swept the South, along with the rest of country, even Massachusetts. Minnesota went for Mondale.
1988: Bush swept the south, and all the rest but 10.
1992/96: The South split fairly evenly, but obviously the South did not rise again for Bush or Dole in numbers enough to win him the election.
2000: A near blow-out, with Gore the one showing intense regional strength.
2004: Same as above, only with Kerry holding the coasts

OK, that does bring us into the current era. Now, dear lefties, in which election does the South show a clear and unique affinity for Republicans? And by that I mean years when Southern voting did NOT look like the majority of the rest of the country?

“The Congressional Quarterly of June 26, 1964 recorded that in the
Senate, only 69 percent of Democrats (46 for, 21 against) voted for
the Civil Rights Act as compared to 82 percent of Republicans (27 for,
6 against). All southern Democratic senators voted against the act.
[…] In the House of Representatives, 61 percent of Democrats (152
for, 96 against) voted for the Civil Rights Act; 92 of the 103
Southern Democrats voted against it. Among Republicans, 80 percent
(138 for, 34 against) voted for it.”

  • http://www.freedomreconnection.com/ FreedomRecon

On June 10, 1964, Democrats filibustered the Civil Rights Act.
Grand Old Partisan reported, via DANEgerus:

On this day in 1964, Everett Dirksen (R-IL), the Republican Leader in the U.S. Senate, condemned the Democrats’ 57-day filibuster against the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Leading the Democrats in their opposition to civil rights for African-Americans was Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV). Byrd, who got into politics as a recruiter for the Ku Klux Klan, spoke against the bill for fourteen straight hours. Democrats still call Robert Byrd “the conscience of the Senate.”

In his speech, Senator Dirksen called on the Democrats to end their filibuster and accept racial equality.

Michael Zak wrote about this in his book Back to Basics for the Republican Party and reminds us that Democrats, the party of Slavery, Secession, Segregation and the KKK… fought against equality.

This is getting annoying. People talk about how this is a racist country, and how Republicans are racists, and all the rest we’ve heard. Liberals talk out of their ASSES about how hard it is to be black in America, then turn around and lambast black people that happen to be conservative. If anyone in this country is facing any kind of hard bigotry, it’s conservatives of all ethnicities, but heaven forbid I’m a black guy, then I’m a damned “shoe-shine artist?” All things balance in this universe eventually, and I’m praying that this filthy, vicious, liberal bigotry is exposed for the abject hatred it is.
