Wait … what?

First, some background:

Leftist activists, including members of North Carolina NAACP, are in Raleigh, North Carolina, today for the so-called Moral March. Their mission? To screech about everything from abortion restrictions to fast-food wages.

North Carolina blogger extraordinaire Sister Toldjah has a must-read Moral March primer on the Moral Monday movement and its hateful organizers.

As bused-in protesters and professional agitators prepared to promote their progressive causes — including oh-so-racist voter ID requirements — the state NAACP told participants make sure to have photo ID handy “at all times.” According to the “Important Dos and Don’ts for Marchers!!!” you should bring a “driver’s license, passport or other valid photo id” to the march.

This tweet says it all:

No, no. That’s too logical. Plus, racism!

Protest suppression!

We know the people at the PROTEST have an ID. Don’t know anyone who does NOT have an ID. It’s absurd to claim that asking for a voter ID is SUPPRESSION.

The Liberal’s think it’s brilliant. More votes for them. If the minorities they seek to deceive ever see the truth, the Liberal’s are screwed.

Yeah but they won’t. Racial grievance has become practically engraved onto their DNA at this point. The few who break out and see the light are basically crucified as Uncle Toms and worse by their own community. Hell, even the adopted children of white conservatives are fair game to these people.

As far as they’re concerned, blacks are not allowed to think for themselves.

        • Dan13

Not only is is absurd, but it is inherently racist to rage to believe that the NAACP clientele is too ignorant and too incompetent to get an ID.

        • Joe Lastowski

Voter ID laws REQUIRE an ID. The NAACP, knowing that cops in that area might react harshly to folks who don’t have IDs, are SUGGESTING that their people bring IDs. That’s how it makes sense. It doesn’t mean they’re trying to force their people to do anything… it means they’re aware of the reality of that area’s politics, and want their protesters to be as prepared as possible. Note that they’re also offering suggestions about how to react to taunts & jeers, which are also likely to happen in that area. To my mind, at least, it’s just good protest preparedness training, just like SNCC did back in the 1960s.

          • Ty in TX ✓ᵇᵒⁿᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Cops everywhere react poorly to someone not having ID. They tend to think people who go about with no identification are the kind of people who don’t want to be identified. Like criminals, fugitives, terrorists, etc.

Geez, the Democrats sure are racist, aren’t they? Requiring people to show ID to march in protest of requiring photo IDs. It’s almost like Democrats don’t want black people to have equal rights in marching against photo IDs. /sarc

Seriously, this is just the latest shining example of Democrat hypocrisy.

If you have to show ID to march in protest, what’s so wrong about requiring ID at voting booths? It’s almost like Democrats oppose Voter Fraud Prevention (and my almost, I mean they do oppose anything that prevents voter fraud). Although, if they weren’t benefitting from voter fraud, they’d be the ones pushing for voter id laws.

    • PatriotRG

So by their logic asking for the members of the march to bring ID they are trying to suppress the turn out!

Sadly, most lefties won’t even recognize the contradiction. They tend to lack the critical thinking ability needed for that.

    • happyscrapper

It is becoming more evident by the hour that the “critical thinking” gene is missing in people of the Left! The term “unintended consequences” applies to every single thing they do, most transparently right now is obamacare (although that might actually be INTENDED), but it also applies to cash for clunkers, the stimulus, all those electric car stations without the cars or the coals for the electricity. I could go on and write an actual book about all their stupidity, but you get the drift.

    • PatriotRG

Its a waste of time pointing it out. Unless its for our (the rights) amusement. One must smack the left really hard on the head repeatedly until they get it. Then carry on smacking them for the sheer fun of it. We are not here to instruct retarded lefties or to convert them but to defeat them. They are long past reasonable arguments. Have you ever explained something like this to a lefty ? And have they ever had an epiphany ? Never.

      • Green Eggs And Ted

Any time I argue with my liberal cousin, the second I hit him with facts, he starts accusing me of extremism and then turns around and says, “I don’t want to talk about it anymore.”

I’ve yet to hear a valid explanation how obtaining an ID is racist. Nobody is refused a state ID based on color or ethnicity. Even foreign visitors are issued immigration documents, which happen to state they must be carried and presented upon request by authorities.

    • happyscrapper

The explanation they use is that many minorities and the poor are unable to get out and get an ID. Or they don’t have the money. Neither of those is valid, as we all know!! There are tons of places to get free ID’s and tons of people willing to transport the folks to go get them!

      • Green Eggs And Ted

I’m poor, but I still have my valid driver’s license.

My question for the Dems is, if I can get mine, why can’t everyone else they claim are too poor?

        • H50 ✓RAT

Because 1) progs think minorities/poor are too stupid to get one and; 2) because progs like to keep minorities/poor disenfranchised members of society.
Gotta keep the victim mentality thriving, if minorities/poor werent kept disenfranchised they would lose their voter base.

          • Green Eggs And Ted

            Ain’t that the truth

        • Roto ✓Intentionally Left Blank

It just confirms that their objective is voter fraud.

          • Green Eggs And Ted

Yep. The Dems are only against Voter ID laws because it will help slow down the problem that voter fraud is becoming. They want to play it up like black people are being victimized, but anyone with a brain can see it’s because the Dems are scared of their voter’s only being allowed one vote.

          • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

And it’s Latins/Asians it’s aimed against, let’s be candid here– NOT blacks, unless you have a large Caribbean/African community like, e.g., Minneapolis (say, isn’t that where Al What’shisface comes from? Y’know, the one with the votes in the trunk? The same one who says corporations aren’t people, and have no rights?)

        • Audra Fried

I have mine too, I have since the age of 16.

      • Al’s Annoyed Grandpa

My suggestion is that while they’re at the DMV registering to vote, they might as well get a state issued ID as well.

        • Green Eggs And Ted

Might as well, they’re right there and they already waited in line. Might as well kill two birds with one stone.

      • MartiniShark

Nothing about obtaining an ID is more difficult or involved as getting a voter ID card — or voting itself for that matter.

      • sambar2

The Dems know a huge chunk of their voters won’t be bothered to vote if it takes anything but the slightest effort. Many won’t bother to get ID’s and that will jeopardize their ability to win elections. That and ID’s will help limit voter fraud and the that’s the last thing Dems can afford to have happen.

        • Green Eggs And Ted

Especially in swing states during Presidential elections.

          • Zane Henry

don’t you need a picture ID to get on the Greyhound bus tour of swing state polling places? Or do they just charter?

          • Lisa Dean

In most states (I haven’t researched all 50) you can get a state issued id for around $10. If you are on Medicaid, SS, receive Disability or SSI you can get that fee waived. There really isn’t an excuse to not have a state issued id because you need it for so many “everyday” activities.

        • Jim Frees

That’s one still waiting. There’s TONS after all.

      • Audra Fried

Yes, exactly. The democrats were provided FREE transportation to and from the polling locations to vote. Why couldn’t they provide the same service to get them proper photo IDs and registration cards?

As someone stated earlier, it is clearly their way of protecting the voter fraud which ensures democratic victories. They cheat, is anyone really surprised?

    • Green Eggs And Ted

The Dems need whatever fear-mongering propaganda they can use to convince the libs that Voter ID laws are bad. Yet the Dems fail to realize that claiming that Voter ID laws oppress black people is the Dems admitting that they don’t believe any black person has the intelligence to get an ID. Which by their own logic, makes the Democrats racist.

If you want to get into your congressman’s office to talk to him, show ID. Open a bank account, buy an airplane ticket………and so on. I don’t hear anyone complaining about requiring ID for any other function we participate in, just voting. I thinks it’s a 2 headed dragon. It’s a straw man giving the left wing fascists something else to whine about and it DOES help suppress voter fraud.

Yes, simpleton, because proving that you are the person you say you are is hate. What an incredible moron you must be. How can said person purchase cigs or alcohol, or register a child for school or pick up government issued checks, obtain a library card and countless other things you need an ID for. Grow up, simpleton moron and realize that asking for an ID isn’t hate at all. What a moronic statement. Keep watering down the word, hate, too, and soon that’ll mean nothing as well.

I would be interested in seeing pictures from the air of this “huge turnout”. And as a side note…Glenn Beck’s rally on the Capitol Mall in DC had over 500,000 people and there was PROOF with pictures from the air. However, no one on the MSM bothered to report that because it didn’t fit the left wing purposes. Did you know that???

While a lot of us sit on our butts and yell at the computer, the rallies created by Moral Monday organizers in North Carolina just keep keep getting bigger.

Today, they’ve invited people from all surrounding states to take part and protest the right wing voter suppression movemet. Organizers are calling this the “Most massive moral rally in the South since Selma!”

The march is known locally as HKonJ8—Historic Thousands on Jones Street (location of the Capitol building)—8th Annual Mobilization.

Support North Carolina’s Moral Agenda and Spread it Far and Wide!

Economic Sustainability, Alleviating Poverty and Expanding Labor Rights for All

    Fully-Funded Constitutional Public Education

Healthcare for All, Protecting Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and the Affordable Care Act

Addressing Disparities in the Criminal Justice System

Protecting and Expanding Voting Rights and Civil Rights

    • Green Eggs And Ted

Voting rights aren’t being effected by Voter ID laws. Unless you libs believe committing voter fraud is a right. And Civil Rights? That passed decades ago, but as long as white people aren’t locked away as punishment for something no one alive to day was a part of (slavery), it’ll never be enough.

Question for you. Why is it that it’s considered racist to ask for ID at a voting booth, but not racist of liberals to assume no black person is smart enough to get an ID to vote with?

    • http://youhavetobethistalltogoonthisride.blogspot.com/ keyboard jockey

Bunch of whiny ass pussys. If you don’t think some people voted more than once in the last election then you’re an Idiot. And people on the right: STOP TALKING TO THESE FUCKING MORONS! Destroy the left where ever you find them. It’s the only way.

Good thing I don’t live in Raleigh today. Otherwise, it’d be a ‘point and laugh’ festival for me. The ignorance and stupidity Rev Barber and his minions display are absolutely shocking in both their depth and breadth. The only thing remotely matching that is their intolerance for points of view contrary to their own.

They are for sure some hateful and mean-spirited people.

    • carmenta

I live about 6 miles from Jones Street, I didn’t even know this was happening today (and Im pretty plugged into local politics.). I’m thinking there’s a whole lot of bused in protesters – I know only one person (naive lib rather than evil lib) who has attended even one of these marches. I did however get holed up in the Legislative Building one day last session because these cretins were all over the place. I was afraid to leave the building so I waited for them to leave :(

      • SouthronCross

I bet there were a lot of bussed in protestors, too. Raleigh is pretty tame where protests are concerned.

You have to provide a photo ID to write a check, be allowed to enter a military installation, sign up for college classes, etc, but, they are crapping cinder blocks about having to present a photo ID to vote. Unbelieveable.

This whole scenario would be laughable if their ‘complaint’ wasn’t so completely devoid of common sense.

    Moral March?

Staged by the people who wish death on NRA member’s children, wish rape on Republican’s wives and daughters for daring to oppose late-term abortion, and tweet “I HOPE YOU DIE!!!!!” to George Bush when he’s going to have heart surgery.

If anyone has no room to preach morals, it’s the left.

  • Green Eggs And Ted

They would only be arrested if they got violent and started damaging public property. That’s not fascism, sorry to burst your bubble. And if they have ID available in case they get arrested, why are they unable to provide that ID at a voting booth? You want facts? Try actually using some.

    • Matt

“Incite arrests”. Wow, do these libs EVER take personal responsibility?

      • Green Eggs And Ted

They destroy public property of their own free will, and then accuse the police of making them do it when they get busted.

And personal responsibility? That’s just racist!! – liberal logic

        • Matt

Like hitting yourself over the head with a club and accusing the closet person to you of assault.

    • Randy Davenport

Not true. Protestors can be arrested for non-violent reasons, such as not having a permit or refusing to obey a police officer. Most of the Moral Monday protestors that were arrested in the past was for non-violent acts such as refusing to obey a police officer, and disrupting the NC General Assembly.

      • right_on

Both of those are Misdemeanors in California. The step that follows is the declaration of an unlawful assembly (riotous situation), then failures to disperse, riot, and then runs in to the realm of felonies. EVERYONE has the duty to disperse when told to by a police officer in these situation…it is an effort to preempt violence. Anyone who refuses, either by voice, or act, deserves whatever they get. Unfortunately, too many agitators/anarchists get away with misdemeanors all too frequently, and as a result, keep coming back again and again to cause problems.

        • Randy Davenport

This is in North Carolina not California. Different states have different laws.

      • bored2tears

Ok so they broke the law and got arrested, exactly how many TEA party rallies or protests led to arrests?
According to FBI statistics of the thousands of rallies and protests not one single arrest of participants. Let us compare that to any liberal/leftist rally or protest. Oh wait the left can not have a protest or rally without an arrest. Have to love facts.

        • GianniP

“exactly how many TEA party rallies or protests led to arrests?”
          >>>> Zero, after 10’s of thousand of rallies attended by millions.

        • Daniel Morgan III

Not only that, but people don’t need to be bused and paid to go to a Tea Party rally.

      • Green Eggs And Ted

Then they should learn to obey the law, and they won’t get arrested. It’s funny that lefties will say that Obamacare is the law and needs to be obeyed, yet whine when they get in trouble for not obeying the laws they dislike.

    • David Roberts

Long story short. Anyone who can’t get an ID to vote is a complete moron.

The list of acceptable proof of ID to get the ID card is astounding.http://www.in.gov/bmv/files/SecureID_Documents_List.pdf

And get this….Indiana will give you an ID card for free, if it is for voting purposes.

Mine wasn’t and they still gave it to me for no cost.

      • BAW

My mother (always the English teacher) answered that question with, “Between the a and the t.

        But, where was that?

Jason Levin, the guy behind crashtheteaparty.org turned out to be from Oregon but once he was “outed” he told the AP he “had over 65 leaders in major cities across the country trying to recruit members to infiltrate tea party events for April 15” 2010.

In Kentucky there was Tyler Collins who attended a Rand Paul event wearing a tinfoil hat, carrying an anti-immigrant sign and he was a Jack Conway/Obama supporter, Democrat activist.

It was in New Hampshire that former Democrat party chairman Kathy Sullivan was revealed to have called and emailed activists to recruiting activists to go to Tea Party rallies with signs challenging President Obama’s birth certificate and to make racially disparaging comments to the media.

So the answer to your question is here, there, everywhere. Did you think things the formerly “mainstream” media doesn’t report don’t happen?

        • nickdqwk

Did you know there was a Moral March going on? Nope neither did I, and was I surprised to hear it is being organized by liberals. I think their idea of Moral and mine differ. I think it is Moral for people to prove who they are so my vote isn’t rendered useless by someone else. I think it is moral for people from other countries to follow our laws if they want immigrate to our country. I think it is moral to preserve life rather than destroy life. Funny that way.

  • Stephen Henry

Wow, and we are always told that conservatives are not racist. You mean these people? Blacks and whites – together.

    • Green Eggs And Ted

Some troll comes here and trolls and you accuse us all of racism? Says someone who probably cheers whenever Allen West is called the n-word by libs, someone who defends the Democrats claiming that no black people are mart enough to get an ID.

And yet, you probably agree with other liberals who call Dr. Ben Carson, Allan West, Tim Scott and others “uncle tom,” “house &egro,” and worse.

  • pacman116

Liberals are so freaking stupid. I’m sorry, but they are what they are.

  • StateofFranklin

Mr. Frees, if you could read and think for yourself it states, “all invitees, participants agree to conduct themselves accordingly and to promptly obey instructions of the marshalls at all times.” … “DO bring photo identification (driver’s license, passport or other valid photo id) with you and keep it on your person at all times.”

That, Mr. Frees, is an instruction. Instructions are provided as requisite guidance. It was written as an understood requirement. It was not merely suggested as you so commonly write it off. That’s the problem with you liberals, you take everything very much at your own interpretation without regard to FACT or DEFINITION.

Sadly, I am certain you have some college education that you are very proud of…a lot of good it’s doing you if you were never taught to actually think. Thanks for being able to recite and regurgitate.

    • Jim Frees

That’s cute Mr. Fake Name. Well written. I’m sure you have something your proud of but surely NOT your understanding of the Bible NOR the Constituion.

      • StateofFranklin

Mr. Fake Name? Where did the Bible and the Constitution come in?

Wait…this is your innate sense of liberal deflection, isn’t it? Rather than present any factual evidence or state anything of certain, much less argue the point of the matter, you just deflect.

        I get it now.

So, if you’re willing to entertain it, I’d like to know your opinion on the disenfranchisement of convicted felons?

        • StateofFranklin

  • WhoDat

If it was just ID requirements many of these Republican led state governments wanted, I’d be all for it.

Many of them are cutting early voting, number of polling places, and number of hours, though.

And many of the laws are attacking minorities.

    http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/12/19/3082371/racial-voter-suppression-study/

    • Brown

That’s great but a lot of Liberals aren’t okay with the ID requirements though they have compared them to Jim Crow laws, poll tax, and racist, even if the ID requirement was only on the table the majority of Liberals would still be fighting against it.

    • rainman

how many early voting days are needed? Remember when there was an Election Day?
If you can’t get to the polls in the extra early days, you can mail in a ballot.

So how does a reduction in polling places, number of hours or fewer early voting affect ONLY minorities? Exactly how is it racist?

Spend the energy wasted “protesting” and hire a bus, pick up the people, help them get ID, and STHU.

      • WhoDat

As many days that are needed so people can vote without needing to stand in line for hours, on a Tuesday.

It doesn’t only affect minorities, but it seems a little strange where more minorities vote, more of these laws are being passed.

        • rainman

Again, how many days do you want? 5? 10? 30? And how do you propose to pay to keep those polls open? That pot of gold the government keeps digging into is getting pretty low.

If you don’t want to stand in line, get an absentee ballot.

What seems strange to me is the excuses made to stop a simple showing of ID. Maybe the minorities being target ed are the illegal minority, the deceased minority and the multiple personality minority (one vote for each personality.)

          • WhoDat

Local governments can set the number of days based on the number of registered voters.

If government would stop spending money on unnecessary things, they might have money for necessary things like voting.

          • rainman

who dat, you’re starting to sound more like a conservative than a loony liberal. Your time spent here has opened your eyes.

If government would stop spending money on unnecessary things, they might have money for necessary things — whodat

          • WhoDat

I’m not sure what you would call my political belief system.

Every time I’ve taken this political quiz thing, it gave me a Libertarian Democrat rank.

          • rainman

Libertarian is good. Try leaning just a smidgeon to the right, and don’t believe BS like voter ID equals voter suppression.

          • sambar2

Conservatives are constantly trying to stop the unnecessary spending (then they get called racists) while liberal politicians are fighting with every breath to not only make sure the unnecessary spending stays, but that it increases.

    • Ruth

Here is an article on the reasons for not voting early. http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2014/01/early-voting-the-case-against-102748.html#ixzz2rlG3rPzw
Sometimes we make things too simple and then the sense of responsibility and citizenship is lost.
      Here’s another: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/feb/5/adams-eight-reasons-for-halting-early-voting/

      • WhoDat

Basically that entire article said: “you’re too stupid to vote for the right person and you must stand in an hours long line to cast a ballot”.

        • Ruth

I didn’t realize they knew you. But seriously folks, it’s saying people who vote early tend to be less informed because all of the facts may not be in. I personally want more informed voters although I realize that goes against the left’s idea of the good voters.

          • Bathing Suit Area

How often have you changed your vote in the last days before an election due to new facts that weren’t previously available?

  • Brown

As a fellow citizen of NC I’m sorry for Rev. William Barber. The funny thing is these Marches have to bring in people from other states because they obviously don’t have enough support in NC. The funny thing is Elon University did a study of the % of NC residents who supported voter ID law’s and found 70% supported them and 80% found the law to be fair. Elon is also far from conservative they kicked Chick-fil-a off campus (after the CEO’s gay marriage comment) and NC residents only make up 22% of the student body while the rest Come from Maryland, NJ, Mass, VA, Penn, Con, and NY.

  • Manny Cortes

  • kelly9107

How many of them had to have an ID to sign up for welfare benefits? All who signed up.State law. Go march on the welfare building.

  • MoonDogii

I have yet to have anybody give me a convincing argument that requiring a photo ID to vote is racist. The only theme that is common to most comments is that it will stop a portion of voter fraud, that apparently the progressive socialists feel they need……….

  • Mr.Conservative

How stupid can they get. I started to ask if you had ever seen anyone this crazy but then I thought about the idiot in the white house.

  • Pnudj

Didn’t you just quote a “FACT”? Were you there?

  • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Listen up, folks: I have a deal I’d like to propose– that we give in to the Left on voter ID, and they give in to us on gun control. If I don’t need an ID to cast a ballot, why should I need one to cast a bullet?

  • carmenta

Does this mean when they are protesting for ‘gun control’ they’ll all be required to bring their illegal guns?

  • right_on

Um, why would you go anywhere without identification? That is, unless you were planning to commit a crime, or had warrants out for your arrest. Interesting that the list contains common sense rules of conduct, which most law abiding follow without having to be told/reminded. And, yes, having to spell it out for those attending plays on the stereotype of the lawless crowds from the left…racist’s schooling racists. That’s pretty darn funny.

  • PolJunkie47

Look at the signs. Voter ID is a poll tax? These fools pay no taxes! WTF?

    • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Here’s the reasoning, strained as it is: Poll taxes are illegal (outlawed by the Constitution). A poll tax is defined as a personal tax levied against any citizen, the failure to pay which can render the person ineligible to vote. Paying for a State ID is the functional equivalent of having to pay the poll tax. (Ditto obtaining a passport). You shouldn’t have to pay anything to be allowed to vote. That’s the argument. Which argument fails at the first hurdle, if the State ID (as opposed to a driver’s license) is issued at no charge. It is the DMV who usually issues state ID’s to, e.g., blind people, mentally-slow people, people who have been stripped of their privilege of driving, etc, etc, in short, people who don’t drive.

      • Peter Johnson

In North Carolina you can go to DMV and get a State issued ID free of charge.

        • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

So, as to that issue, the March was pointless. Pointless in general, I’d say– but especially so, if that’s true.

          • Peter Johnson

It absolutely is .. However the reason the naacp wants the protesters to bring id is for when they get arrested. No id and you spend more time in jail until their identity is proven to be true.

          • tedlv

Now that is a noble idea! Save the taxpayers money by not having to stay in jail a long time while identity is being proven. See, the NAACP cares about you and me, the taxpayers!

          • Peter Johnson

The only thing the naacp in nc cares about is getting the prez. Barber’s face on tv. Unfortunately he makes them look like fools every time he opens his mouth.

          • tedlv

Hey, I try to look for the positive side of everything.

          • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

With ID, they get to see quicker whether you have unpaid traffic tickets and the like– or are breaking parole, or…well, you get the “picture.” They’re banking on the police just rounding ’em up, driving ’em to the opposite end of town, and saying “Get lost, we can’t be bothered to do the paperwork.”

          • Peter Johnson

I think they ended up arresting about 1000 during all the moral monday protests .

          • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

That’s why, when possible, you try to get as many apprehended as possible, to swamp the cops and make ’em not want to deal with it all.

          • Rabid

By their logic, paying bus/cab fare to get to the DMV for a free ID would be a poll tax.

        • tedlv

You can in Tennessee, and when I was there a few years ago, in Washington State, Arizona, and Colorado. The whole idea that black people are too stupid to have ID is so totally racist, that it completely angers me. Black people are human beings! They are not stupid! Why do democrats think they are so stupid that they can’t get photo ID? Who is the racist here?

          • mark kelley

Photo ID is also free in texas since they enacted a voter ID law. But yea, still racist!

      • Spaky

Perhaps they meant Pole tax as a method to repress those of Polish descent.

You won’t answer the question he asked you you wont comment on the proof of voter fraud you were shown you wont acknowledge the hypocrisy of asking for id at a march to say no to voter id , you have no reason or logic or even a viable argument to put forward in this debate. I would like to point out I’m not going to edit this whole comment cuz I am not a person who tries to hide their mistakes but I am going to take out the idiot part that was wrong of me. I would like to thank you all for the comment wether positive or not and say I hope one day we can fix this country.
I’m not on either side but arnt we supposed to be a joined united country. Ppl r allowed to protest whatever they want. They require a photo id so no random person joins the march. What ever their cause may be they don’t want ppl who didn’t register for the walk to join in and ruin a peaceful protest.

It doesn’t matter what “side” you consider yourself on this America we are supposed to be one nation UNITED not one nation divided. And all these comment just show we are the most divided country we’ve ever been and it makes me sick and should make you all sick too. Shame on ever person in here

    • tedlv

If they need ID to march, wouldn’t they already have it to vote? If so, then why protest? The whole thing rings of stupidity.

      • Shawn Faloney Garber

I personally don’t care what they r protesting. I just am saddened when I see both sides wether dem or rep demean each other. This is the biggest prob with out government today is no one can agree on anything because we r all so one sided I try my hardest to keep my mind open about both sides but the bickering back and forth isn’t going to get our country anywhere.

        • tedlv

I am very saddened that whoever taught you English did such a horrible job. And you are the one that opened with “Hey idiots”, so get off your “demean each other” high horse. You are the worst of the lot, little girl.

          • tedlv

Shawn, you are not a “little girl”.

        • Peter Johnson

This isn’t bickering this is about the integrity of the most important right the citizens of this country enjoy ! Do you realize that in some cities Mr. Obama received 100% of the vote?!?!? I don’t care who the candidate is I don’t think that is possible without fraud !

          • Shawn Faloney Garber

No Peter you r right I agree a lot of votes came from illegals with no rights and should never have gotten their votes in.

          • Peter Johnson

Thanks Shawn … It is really important we all stand together for whatever is right.

          • Shawn Faloney Garber

            And thank you as well.
That’s really all I ment. All my other bull shit aside.

          • BAW

But the left denies that illegal voting of any kind happens. Then when it’s proven, they claim it’s so insignificant that it doesn’t matter. They they accuse efforts and anyone involved in attempts to stop illegal voting (like Voter ID laws) of being racist, or discrimination or voter suppression. While Democrats, in fact, suppress active duty military votes. It’s good to try to see both sides but you have to see each as it really is and not assume that both are good and both are bad. Neither is perfect but often, one is right and one is wrong.

          • tedlv

They have Holder to prosecute voter fraud. He knows there was HUGE voter fraud in the last election. Did he prosecute? Um, no…

          • BAW

Of course, Holder doesn’t care about illegal voting (clearly it benefits Democrats). Supposedly one of Holder’s next major efforts (I guess after he’s through trying to stop school choice in Louisiana) is to attack our Voter ID law here in Texas. I personally welcome his investigation (keep him from other mischief). He might find illegality but it won’t be on the part of supporters of Voter ID. Of course, he’ll ignore any real crimes he might find in Shelia Jackson Lee’s district. Just as he dismissed the voter intimidation charges against the NBPPs even when they were already basically convicted. Because, yes, he can do whatever he wants to and get away with it.

          • tedlv

It totally is not possible without fraud.

          • Rabid

Let’s not forget all the votes from our deployed Military that were never counted.

        • BAW

I was having a hard time understanding your rant (even without the initial insult) about everyone needing to be “united” seemingly in support of a group doing something hypocritical (requiring ID to protest Voter ID) to exclude “random” or non approved people to “join” in.

But I think the real disconnect comes from you probably not being aware that leftists have in fact gone to Tea Party rallies specifically to disrupt and to make those peaceful protests look bad.

The leftist in charge of this protest seem concerned that the right might try to use their tactics against them.

What I don’t think they or you understand is that “we” know they make themselves look bad without any help from us. Consider all the violence and vandalism and problems at OWS protests (no one on the right needed to do anything).

But because TP gatherings were peaceful and respectful the left literally did things in their efforts to make the TP look bad or racist (when it is not!).

And another difference is how each side deals with things. For example at one TP rally when they knew the left planned to be there with offensive signs, they identified the trouble makers and would surround them holding signs with arrows that said, “No with us” or “Infiltrator” or stuff like that (I saw pictures online).

While the NAACP does this. They require IDs and protest Voter ID, making themselves look stupid. All we’re doing is pointing it out and laughing at them.

Perhaps you’d understand if you felt and knew what we feel or know. The left truly views every one of us as their enemy and treats us as such. We view most of them as wrong or misguided or brainwashed or stupid. There’s a big difference. They get angry, we can laugh.

    • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Oooooh, look– Mr Moral High Ground just joined the discussion.

Show us where the moral equivalencies are. Or stop your moral equivocation.

      • tedlv

And she starts with “Hey idiots”, That’s really going to attract the “in” crowd! BTW, hope you are well…

        • Shawn Faloney Garber

I’m a guy. And you are very right I shouldn’t have started off with hey idiots that makes me look stupid. I do apologize about that. But as I stated it just gets me heated when I see or hear people on either side bickering back and forth. As a country we have much bigger problems than stupid protesters. Our government is out of control can we all at least agree on that?

          • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Simply to say “plague on both houses” without actually citing what it is that is being complained of, beyond “you’re both just finger-pointers,” ain’t gonna cut it.

          • tedlv

Shawn, therealguyfaux is the real thing. He says it right, he knows what he is talking about. Read his posts, learn…

          • Shawn Faloney Garber

Yes sir you are correct just saying everyone is pointing fingers isn’t really going into much. There are too many problems with this government than my fingers can type on my little iphone. But I will say I should have posted that with a, well more intact comment I posted that in the heat of the moment and should have thought my argument though better.
I will agree this protest should have been thought through a little better

          • tedlv

I can certainly agree with your “Our government is out of control” comment, and I appreciate that you apologized for the “Hey idiots” comment.

          • Brad Vacek

Any apology with a “but” is not sincere.

          • BAW

Sort of like a “qualified” threat (if you do that again…) isn’t really a threat. But I’ll usually accept an apology with an excuse, so long as I believe there is a sincere intention not to do it again. In this case, I’m going with, it was a (I suspect a youthful or over zealous) mistake.

          • tedlv

I believe Shawn is sincere. I have been duped before, but he comes across as a good guy.

          • BAW

So far I agree. I have responded to him with that in mind. I hope we are both right.

      • Shawn Faloney Garber

I’m not trying to be all high and mighty I have my own issues and mal functions. But I think at this crisis time in our country we need to find a common ground with each other and work to get our idiots out of office and our country back on track not worry about stupid protesters

        • Rabid

It’s all about exposing the liberal hypocrisy.

    • Spaky

Let me guess, English is your second language….

    • Ruth

“They require a photo id so no random person joins the march.” But they are protesting photo id which should be required so no random person votes. Don’t you think voting integrity is more important than their little march?

      • Shawn Faloney Garber

Oh I think a lot of things are more important than marches.

        • Ruth

But don’t you see, that is the discussion here. The left wants you to bring ID to a march but gets the vapors if anyone suggests ID should be required to vote. We’re not saying this protest is the most important thing going but we are pointing out the lack of consistency in the left. And I think it’s important to always point out their inconsistencies.
Edit: Especially when the very thing they are doing is called racist or sexist or whatever ‘ist’ when done or suggested by the right.

          • tedlv

I am pretty sure Shawn has seen the light. He appears to be very intelligent.

    • justlittlolme

So they don’t want a ‘random person to join the march’ but it’s okay for a random person to VOTE?
ROFLMAO! Not the sharpest tool in the shed, are ya bud?

      • Ruth

Hi, I think we had the same thought at the same time. Great minds…..

        • justlittlolme

          LOL!

      • Shawn Faloney Garber

No no I never said that. It upsets me as much as the person that’s people that come to this country illegally can get the same if not more rights than me or you frustrates me to no end all I’m saying is the only way to change these things is to focus on the gov not these dumb marches

        • justlittlolme

Fair enough. But I don’t think what your reading here is so much ‘focus’ as it is a bunch of us blowing off steam by pointing fingers at other people’s hypocritical stupidity.

      • tedlv

I truly think Shawn is getting sharper. He is showing a capability to learn. Teach him carefully, and well, please.

        • Shawn Faloney Garber

Thank you. Like I said I don’t wanna come off as picking sides I just want what’s right for our country.

          • tedlv

So do I, and so do all intelligent people.

    • Ruth

Call me skeptical but when you start out your post “Hey idiots” it makes me doubt your sincerity decrying the division in this country. Idiot.

      • tedlv

Ruth, please keep reading. I think Shawn may have some potential…

        • Rabid

Ya…his heart is in the right place,he just needs a little steering.

          • Shawn Faloney Garber

            Lots of character.

          • Shawn Faloney Garber

Thank you ted. That means a lot seeing as my comment didn’t make us quite see eye to eye at first 😉

          • Shawn Faloney Garber

        • Shawn Faloney Garber

          Thank you I appreciate that.

      • Shawn Faloney Garber

Yea you are right that’s why I took it out. That kind of comment I made was exactly was I was complaining about. Pot here hello kettle.

        • Ruth

Then I will retract my ‘idiot’ and save him for another day. ; )

    • Brad Vacek

“Shame on ever person in here.” – Everyone but you, right? Generalizations are part of the problem you try to describe.

      • Shawn Faloney Garber

That’s a true statement. And when I said that ment everyone me included when politics comes into play everyone is at fault for generalizations it’s in our nature to generalize. It helps us cope with the world better. But when politics and our beautiful country is concerned we need to be together. A unity then when we’ve fixed our biggest problem lets go back to worrying about stupid protesters like these we can then worry about the small stuff, hell I got a lot to complain about.

        • Brad Vacek

“stupid protesters”? I’m thinking you may want to review your own message.

          • tedlv

    • tedlv

Shawn, you are a good man. I appreciate that you can admit you were wrong.

  • Sailing J

These people are so fn stupid they don’t realize how stupid they are!

  • Gristle McThornbody

Why would the organizers of a civil rights march actually have to admonish their participants to behave in a civilized manner?

    • tedlv

As Perry Mason would say (yeah, I just showed my age), “Asked and answered.”

  • Sailing J

    You mad, bro?

  • Mike Dewey

They don’t need help from the “fascists” in getting arrested. Lol! See virtually any Occupy protest. They do just fine on their own.

  • Bob Danley

Well that’s just racist because of the racist racism.

  • justlittlolme

This is SOP for the progs. Doesn’t anyone else remember how quiet the media was about the fact a photo ID was required to attend the Democratic convention? ALL they covered was the supposed ‘racism’ by the States (mostly Southern ones) who were trying to stop voter fraud by requiring ID?

If hypocrisy were horses, liberals would never lack for a ride!

  • liberalssuck

So we have to show id for almost everything except the one thing that should be protected from fraud. Hmmm yup I agree it is so stupid it hurts..

I laugh at their “Superior Intellect”…

        • tedlv

I would laugh with you, but I am a dumbass, according to many posters. I have no “superior intellect”. I think the government should be small and should not be 17T in debt. I am a total idiot. I admit that.

Really you want to hang your argument there ? Can you not read ? It says , keep it on your person the ID at ALL times. Therefore its demanded. How can one keep the ID on you at all times if its not a demand ?

        • Bathing Suit Area

Are you really suggesting that the phrase “at all times” always denotes a demand?

Would you consider “we strongly recommend that you carry your ID on you at all times” to be a demand?

          • PatriotRG

How could you carry the ID at ALL times if you do not have it ? So join the dots …I know it hurts

      • PatriotRG

Can you not read that the document says one must have ID on you at ALL times ? That means its a demand for ID not a request. Is English your first language ?

        • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

          “Is English your first language?”

He’s an Aussie, so the answer would be “No.” G’dye, myte.

          • PatriotRG

I know a few Australians , they are nice people. Bathing suit guy is a very un usual one. I was born and raised in Texas – but I live in the UK now. Leftism is a global infection. The UK and Europe are pretty much finished in that respect. Lets hope Bathing suit guy is a minority in Auss.

          • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Living in the UK. That’s gotta be a laugh a minute for a Yank, considering the politics over there and all their idiots– ours pale in comparison to their cupidity and stupidity. But hey, as for the Aussies, they chucked Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd out on their arses, so there’s hope for them yet. “Hey, Abbott!”, as the voters said…

        • Bathing Suit Area

          “Must”

          No. Try again.

          • PatriotRG

            “ALL time” Yes .

  • jyearsley

    “here’s your sign….”

    • Rabid

But ,but it’s not a PC acceptable shade of paint….waaaaaaaaa

  • Lori Blaney

Spokeperson for NAACP in Mass compared the sentence rec’d & 6 month jail time by a State Rep for beating his girlfriend to jaywalking! He actually said it on the radio.

  • AmericanLass

Does any of their sheeple see the irony or do they even understand the definition of “irony” ?

    • tedlv

They don’t teach that word in 3rd grade.

    • Rabid

They are too busy looking for the hidden racist message,I know what it really says, and boy are they gonna be pissed!

    • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

The higher-ups are disingenuous, and the underlings are mentally deficient.

The higher-ups think they’re SO clever, they won’t be found out, and the underlings don’t have the brains to even think about it. Having hornswoggled their own, the biggies may think it’s that easy to do it with everybody– but unfortunately for them, there’s a lot of people out there who actually are capable of thinking, and seeing the incongruity and incoherence of the whole thing the biggies are pitching. But just remember– all the biggies have to do is win just a hair more than half the ballots cast– even if those are questionable, to say the very least.

      • AmericanLass

I don’t think its a matter of intelligence, more like good old common sense.

        • therealguyfaux ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Once again, Voltaire: “Alas, common sense is not really all that common.”

  • mrmike

Remember Comrades ! Intelligence is frowned upon by the Party unless you received your education from an Amerikan Party approved school. Like the Fascist Youth pictured above.
Sharpen your two-edged sword and gird your loins. The Hammer and Suckle have arrived.

    • Rabid

They don’t like guns, what are they gonna do…pee on me?

      • tedlv

Dude, they have guns, and billions of hollow point bullets. They don’t need to pee on you. Did you know the Post Office is buying huge numbers of bullets? Do you think they plan to arm letter carriers? I don’t.

        • Rabid

They make a brave noise….OH no Rabid, they have billions of bullets……

          • tedlv

I am so glad I never faced a Rabid in HS football! You would totally be a problem!

          • Rabid

Dynamite comes in small packages :)

          • tedlv

I am so stepping aside, Rabid! 😉

          • Rabid

Rest easy,we’re on the same team now :)

          • tedlv

            We always have been.

          • tedlv

But I could kick your A$$ back then. No prob, friend.

  • Kimo

These are professional protesters. They need the ID in order to register they were there and get paid.

    • tedlv

And so they can get out of jail quickly. The organizers are totally pro-taxpayer – they don’t want someone stuck in jail for weeks, at taxpayer expense, trying to prove their identity. That is totally noble.

  • warren yates

Like sheep to the slaughter the ignorant black masses dance to every tune that their black masters command them to. This is mental slavery.

  • bob smith

wow its deep in here. anyway… ids are good. bring them to vote. bring it to get your food stamps… so let it be written, so let it be done…

  • jba

Disenfranchising protesters by requiring an ID….. way to go you racist bastards!!!

  • Gethriel

“…keep it on your person at all times…” but I don’t HAVE a person; I’m not a slave-owner! (yes, I understand the vernacular, just having fun :) )

    • tedlv

      You rock, OK?

  • PistolPeterson

What about those poor protesters that don’t have photo ID?

    • tedlv

Dey gits ta go home, I magine, massa.

      • tedlv

Unfortunately, libs think people with dark skin are stupid. The aren’t. But that is what Libs produce for voters. Who is racist?

  • Albert Schmitlap.

check out the list,,,it sounds like something paid for again by US tax payer under some hidden subsidy. Look at the very First “Do not”,,,it says Not to bring any valuables with you. Does that mean their may be less then honest people in this march? Like people who registered 74 time each,,,and voted as many time during Early Voting. I talked too a man from Dallas that saw just that,,,disgusting and he couldn’t get anyone on the phone to come and stop it

  • http://www.FunDMental.com TheRealJackpineSavage

    Ahem,

“It was suggested in case of fascist, much like yourself,”

    Pot Meet Kettle.

I guess you’re all for Civility unless you’re talking to a conservative, huh?

You guys make it Too Damn Easy, you really do. :op

    • Jim Frees

movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual CHECK

Stands for a centralized government headed by a leader CHECK

Severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition CHECK

yup I’d say y’all’s meet the requirements.

Civility. NOT ONE CIVIL STATEMENT MADE ON YOUR SIDE.

      • Voltaire’s Ghost

        Wrong on all counts.

        • Jim Frees

          Acceptance is the first step.

          • Voltaire’s Ghost

Sorry, I’ll never accept your Joseph Goebbels style propaganda.

      • SmokeyBehr

Actually, that sounds exactly like the Obama Administration:

Eric Holder talking about “his people”, and not prosecuting the Black Panthers (check)
BHO: “If Congress won’t do what I want, then I’ll do it without them” (check)
Obamacare, Stimulus, IRS harassment of Conservative groups (check)

      • Al’s Annoyed Grandpa

You just succinctly described Obama. Well done.

      • Richbert88

Damn! You just describe the Libs, I mean communist and fascist, on capital hill…ie. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, DWS, NAACP.

Was it your intention to do so?

      • Studogg64

“It was suggested in case of fascist, much like yourself, being able to incite arrests.” I’ll let you reflect on your own civility of this statement.

      • MJ Pauls

It appears that you’re confusing ‘civil statements’ with ‘blind agreement’.

      • Rena

doesn’t look like they are suggesting you bring an ID looks like they are telling you to bring one…

        • John Boscardin

I must agree. It is not a suggestion, but a requirement.

        • Joe Lastowski

See, that’s pretty much just boilerplate text that’s used for many protests. It’s no more a “requirement” than wearing a hat is. Do you think the NAACP will turn away people who don’t wear hats? They’re all just basic ideas that will make you less likely to be arrested, less likely to be hassled by police, and more likely to be released sooner if you are arrested. These are all based on the basic ideas that many protest groups have used for years.

Especially since they know that they’re going into an area that requires IDs for voting, doesn’t it make sense that they’d tell their people “Hey, you should probably bring an ID, because the authorities in this area get really up in arms about not having one.”

          • Ronald Green

You really don’t get it, do you.

      • Ronald Green

Actually your post reminds me of the current administration.

  • Jerry Rainwater

    Who are these idiots???

  • GianniP

    It’s not “ironic” – it’s “moronic”

  • teacher extraordinaire

What they don’t understand is the purpose for the I.D. requirement in the first place… It eliminates duplicate and improper voting… thus helping to eliminate discrimination of both those voting properly and all candidates.

    • Ruth

I think they do understand that. That’s why they’re against it.

      • tedlv

Ok, Ruth, we said the same thing. You said it better, and more briefly!

        • Ruth

Hi Ted, we’ve got to quit meeting like this.

          • tedlv

            I like you too.

          • tedlv

We can’t meet as real people because I can’t give you contact info. You can’t either. I wish I could,,,

          • tedlv

            You are a beautiful person.

          • Ruth

Ha, Ted, are you talking to yourself again?

          • tedlv

No, dear, talking to you. Can you not take it?

          • Ruth

I just wondered why you told tedlv ‘you are a beautiful person.’ Let us know if you want to be alone.

          • tedlv

            Huh?

          • Ruth

Read a couple of your posts. Instead of addressing them to me, you are addressing them to yourself. My family says I’m a terrible tease, sorry.

          • Ruth

Now people are really going to start talking. ; )

          • Rabid

Heh,I just clicked on both of your names and a twitter like file comes up.. can the ability to IM be far behind? (personally I welcome it)

    • tedlv

But the dems don’t want that. They encourage fraud, so their candidates will win. Fair doesn’t count. Win is the only option. Does any intelligent person truly believe that entire districts went 100% for Obama in the last election? Not one opposing vote? No way. Holder, if he were inclined to do his job, would investigate, but he is too racist and too beholden to the god emperor to investigate anything (including the new black panther terrorism).

      • tedlv

I gonna git so totally audited…

  • GianniP

    Oh, like you, D-Bagger?

  • Jack Gil

At first I thought this was so ridiculous, it had to be an article on the Onion. Yet I am neither shocked nor surprised to see that this is a typical lib-bot, hypocrit-fest.

  • Burt Tabor

I really like the argument that it is discimination and an undue burden on the poor to require them to show an I.D. to vote. But, it is not and undue burden to ask them to sign up for health care on their “home” computer before they get fined by their government.

  • Alvin Chipmunk

Photo ID required to protest voter photo ID. That’s basically what this is saying in a nutshell! How much more clearer can this get?? The liberals and the Democratic Party are going nuts. The whole thing is pure hypocrisy and those who can’t see it are more blind than a bat!

  • Want a conversation

    My brothers got ID!

    • tedlv

      Who do yo brodah’s be?

      • tedlv

        I was joking…

  • David Roberts

Liberal thinking is corrupt, and they are hypocrites.

  • January 2017

They are marching against photo ID to vote but a photo ID is required in order to march against photo ID’s for voting. Yep,,,I get it. It’s the joke of the month,,,right??? lol

    • tedlv

      Welcome to the liberal intellect.

      • January 2017

No please,,,I don’t want to be any where near the liberal intellect or should I say non-intellect. I needed a good laugh for the night.

        • tedlv

You made me laugh! You are a totally cool woman!

          • January 2017

            Thank you…but I just can’t stop laughing.

          • tedlv

            You rock!

    • Bathing Suit Area

      “required”

      No.

      • tedlv

Bathing. you are an effing idiot. I am pretty sure I have told you that before, but to be sure… You totally are an idiot.

    • Rabid

As we speak , the smoke is pouring out Norman’s ears…( If you’re a Star Trek fan ,you’ll get the reference :) )

    • Robert Spurgeon Sr.

No, Its black history month, All Dumb Nuts are marching. !!

  • Bellyn

Requiring all law-abiding citizens to register their weapons is “not infringement” according to the left, however, asking people to show a valid ID to vote is the worst sort of infringement. They never explain how it infringes, they just scream that it does. It only makes sense in their world.

    • tedlv

Stupidity rules. Where have you been?

    • Bathing Suit Area

Not everybody has photo ID, thus requiring it to vote would exclude those people.

How does registering guns infringe anything?

      • tedlv

You are a total idiot. Total.

      • tedlv

How does being an idiot qualify you to vote?

      • Rabid

Peoples words on the net have driven some to commit suicide, shall we restrict the 1st Am & register computers too?

      • Peter Johnson

North Carolina will issue an ID for FREE they just have to go DMV and get it.

        • Rabid

          So does Indiana.

        • tedlv

The liberals want us to think black people are too stupid to register. Really? Black people are NOT idiots. Why do dems keep thinking they are?

          • Peter Johnson

They need them to remain victims to keep their power ..

          • tedlv

            You got that right.

          • fred2

Well, the Democrats once viewed Blacks as mindless slaves so…

          • sandyinindy

Well, they correctly assume that if these folks are voting for them, they can’t be too bright.

        • Robert Spurgeon Sr.

Most of them are wanted by Cops, cant get a ID. !!

      • tedlv

You are a complete idiot. How do you still breathe?

      • Michele

First of all in order to get a job, collect welfare or foodstamps or any other government handout you have to have ID. I’m sorry if the Democrat party has done so much cheating on elections, having dead people vote etc that we need to have a ID to vote to stop the cheating democrat party. If you are too damn lazy to get an ID than I’m sure you are too damn lazy to vote so it should not matter. They are not asking Just minorities for ID they are going to ask EVERYONE for ID so I guess than you could say this is racist against every race, which makes no sense. Every County offers photo ID to people so stop thinking we are so damn stupid that we know this is all about voter FRAUD AND THE DEMOCRAT PARTY CONTINUING TO CHEAT ON ELECTIONS .

        • Alan Mudge

I’ve been asked for my ID at voting booths by black people and I’m pretty freakin’ white, well more reddish sunburn white, but white nonetheless.

        • cyndal

You hit the nail on the head. They aren’t just asking minorities for an ID they are asking everyone so what is the problem. My mom is 80 and no longer drives. since she won’t have a license anymore we took her to get a photo ID at the DMV. No problem. There are no excuses just a bunch of people crying wolf (racism) that isn’t going to work for much longer.

      • Alan Mudge

That’s the point, mush brain…if they cannot prove who they claim to be on the voter rolls, no votee! If your logic was valid, I would have been able to buy a lot more beer as a teenager.

      • Alan Mudge

And registering guns infringes on my right and privacy to purchase a legal product. Do you register your knives, hammers, bats? All potentially deadly weapons.

        • Bathing Suit Area

          So registering cars is tyranny?

          • MrApple

What part of the Constitution protects/acknowledges the rights of the People to automobiles?

          • fred2

Owning a car is not an inalienable right. Owning a gun is.

          • Corey Dennison

You’re failing all the way around on this one, aren’t you?

      • MrApple

The voters of NC have till 2016 to take a few hours out of their day a get a FREE state ID. If voting is that important to people, then take the time and get an ID. It really is just that simple.

        • Casca

So does Texas…And they are STILL complaining !

      • Bellyn

Every LEGAL American of voting age has some type of identification. Otherwise they could not: check out a library book, purchase alcohol, fly, rent a car, go to the doctor, drive a car, rent an apartment, purchase a home, open a bank account……. Please give me one valid example of any person legally allowed to reside in this country, other than the Amish, that have no need of identification.
And as to your second question, read the Second Amendment.

      • Corey Dennison

Yet ANOTHER reason for you to keep your nose out of our business.

Of the 31 states which require voter ID, every single one will provide–free of charge–a valid photo ID.

        Feel stupid yet?

      • Thomas Dobbins

Every one attempting to vote should have to show a valid ID. Only U.S. citizens have the right to vote in federal elections.

    • tedlv

And they don’t explain why they can’t protest without proper ID. Does hypocrisy come to mind?

    • January 2017

That’s because the dead rise from the grave at election time in Chicago and there is no way they can get a picture ID card in time to vote. On the serious side I see no reason why people can’t show some picture ID when they go into the polling places to vote. I don’t know how they would handle that for those for can’t get out and send a “write in” vote through the mail.

      • Bellyn

Sherrill Weber, could you imagine how enraged a liberal voter would be if someone were to vote Republican in their name? You know this would be a moot point if the R’s were the ones committing the voter fraud. We’d have had Voter ID laws tout de suite!

        • January 2017

Bellyn, I believe the picture ID should be for all. The liberals scream we are being racist and we scream back “voter fraud”. The ID would hopefully just eliminate it all. And I totally agree with what you said.

  • Bellyn

So, Jim Frees, just HOW does requiring someone to show voter ID infringe upon their rights? Given that ID is required EVERYWHERE else to do anything in this country that is considered a “right” or a “privilege.”

  • Jim Barker

    how I see it

    • Jake Bradford

Exactly. I can’t believe more blacks don’t see the bigotry of low expectations many white libs employ.

  • http://www.nleomf.org/officers/ FlatFoot

    .
END THE RACIST OPPRESSION YOU NEOCON MEANIE PANTSES!

  • cyndal

If the country asks for an ID to vote it is racist. When they ask for an ID it is perfectly fine. Don’t you just love the double standards. The people marching don’t even get that they have lost their common sense. They have diluted the word racist so much that when there is real racism nobody is going to believe them. Like the little boy that cried wolf!

  • Humanary Stew

He had to jump down to that level. You wouldn’t understand otherwise.

  • CripesAmighty

Maybe if you morons had bothered to contact the organizers, you would have found that no one was asked to produce to attend, or turned away from the event, for ID or lack of same. It was strongly recommended to assist security and first responders in the case of emergency (illness or injury), and to eliminate potential arrests under the pretext of ‘refusing to show’ ID to police in the event of unrest. But that would involve ‘journalism’, wouldn’t it? Can’t have that.

    • Peter Johnson

Aren’t you just another warm and fuzzy lib … Nobody was suggesting they needed id to protest the joke is you idiots recommend bringing ID to a protest saying it’s racist to expect voters to have ID….. back under your bridge troll !

      • CripesAmighty

Hey, if it’s just ‘recommended’ that one bring photo ID to the polls, I’m down with that, but…

        • Peter Johnson

Well lucky for you that oversight has been fixed ! in the 2016 elections it will be required to bring your id to the polls :)

    • Alan Mudge

Do you not see a smidgen of irony here, dumbass?

    • January 2017

You missed the boat in this one or should I say the bird just flew over your head. You’re lucky it didn’t drop anything on you when it went over. Call Obama and have him explain it to you since you believe everything he says. Oh wait,,,he may just say “I didn’t know about that”.

      • CripesAmighty

God, you cretins are dense. the list also issues communist diktats to ‘wear comfortable shoes’ and ‘eat a balanced meal’. Recommendations to help avoid inconvenience are not equivalent to legislation requiring (not mentioned in the constitution) documentation to exercise a constitutional right.

        • January 2017

Like I said,,,,you missed the boat on this one. Watch out for the bird flying over your head or the smoke that comes out of your ears. (Just like Norman)

        • Bellyn

Cripes, just wondering, but can you please tell me how it is “racist” or infringing upon someone’s right to require an ID card to vote?

  • Robert Spurgeon Sr.

Only bring a Voter ID if You are WHITE, blacks, No need to. HUH. !!

  • renewed4life

No voter I.D. needed = easily corrupted election.

  • http://twitter.com/4ever_a_kafir Travis Wolfeil

The Democratic Party is fuKKKing retarded.

  • Worship Dancer

hmmm photo id REQUIRED to march AGAINST photo id being required to vote. interesting that. photo id being required to vote will be FREE IF YOU CAN’T AFFORD ONE AND TRIP TO GET ONE ALSO FREE YOU JUST HAVE TO USE YOUR FREE OBAMAPHONE TO CALL FOR A RIDE.

wonder if the photo id required at the march is free?

  • Marvin Nelson

    Typical liberal flustercuck “logic.”

  • RJ

Perhaps they should have used those buses to take people to get the necessary photo id…problem solved.

  • http://www.GONINERS.com/ Kristine ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Is the ID actually a requirement for the march? ‘Cause that would be awesome. I’d like to be able to quote that.

    • stargater1

I think so, or that is the way it read to me. These seem to be rules you MUST follow. Could be wrong, I could head down there (being in Raleigh myself), but you wouldn’t catch me dead near them.

      • http://www.GONINERS.com/ Kristine ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Yeah, I’d like something concrete, know what I mean? Too many people with sticks up their butts not getting the irony/humor of this because they believe it’s NOT required.

Though if it’s not required, what’s the point? And why alert Marshals if someone from the crowd joins?

Anyway, I wish there was some list or something that had consequences for not being nice to others, not having ID, etc.

    • Peter Johnson

The reason they wanted them to bring the ID’s is to get them out of jail quicker when they are arrested …

  • Suburban Guy

The only real reason anybody is against voter ID is because then the illegals can’t vote multiple times.

    • sandyinindy

Also, dead people do not have IDs. So, that’s racist to ask someone that is deceased for ID b/c we all know very well that ID isn’t taken with them. …

  • Rena

This is funny, On what plane of existence do the left live? How exactly is asking for an ID racist when we need one to go to the bank to cash our checks, or open accounts. We need one when we go to school, or drive a car. We need one to go to the doctor and to the hospital. And now these numb-nuts want people to show an ID to a protest against the “racist” ID requirement to vote??? Oh my lord where do they come from!?!

  • MrApple

This deserves a mountain of mocking and ridicule.

  • Joe Lastowski

Wow, just because the NAACP knows how likely their protesters might be to get arrested in a state like N.Carolina, and how much better it is to be able to prove to authorities who you are if that happens, folks are deciding they’re dumb or hypocritical?

    • Rena

You really dont see the hypocrisy in this?

      • Joe Lastowski

I see it as preparedness. They’re not requiring ID, they’re recommending it. Because getting arrested without an ID is 10 times more of a pain than with one. It’s a standard “here’s how to be prepared for the things you might encounter while protesting” list. NC might also be one of the states where it’s a misdemeanor not to have an ID on your person, in which case the NAACP is also trying to keep their people from having extra charges piled on to the “disturbing the peace” or whatever else they might get tagged with.

When going into a hostile area, it’s helpful to have the tools necessary to keep that area from hurting you too badly. It’s no different than suggesting that they bring sunscreen & water on a hot day or warm clothes on a cold day. That sort of thing is pretty boilerplate among well-organized protest groups… esp those like the NAACP, who know full well how easy it is for cops to get overzealous in their arresting.

        • ilovelindzy

How dare you sir. As if ‘recommendations’ and laws aren’t exactly the same! 😉
btw, youre right.. its about being arrested. not having your ID can cause you to be sitting at the station/jail for longer than need be. just like the recommendation below it about prescription medication being in its right container.. also something you could go to jail for if found and laying loose.
But again, youre asking these folks to use that long shut down part of their brain that deals with logic and reason.. so good luck with that 😉

        • DutyFirst

Hostile area? Don’t live there but, I reckon the ‘area’ is not in the least hostile until {insert leftist/progressive group name} turn up and set the tone. Goes for all the other ‘hostile’ areas in this great country.

          • Joe Lastowski

Anyone that protests in an area that is not hostile to their ideas isn’t doing it effectively. It’s an area that has implemented a voter ID law. Maybe it’s not a place where they should fear for their lives, but is it so out of left field to assume that the place that requires you to have an ID to vote might treat you more harshly if they arrest you and find that you don’t have an ID?

It’s “hostile” in the way that they will meet many people who disagree with their ideas, possibly strongly disagree. It has the potential to be hostile, which, for a protest organizer, is exactly what you have to prepare your people for. Note all the other points about how to deal with jeers and threats, what to do if violence breaks out, etc.

          • A guy

Really? Nah, they never arrest people for color down there. Never.

        • Joe Lastowski

It’s no different than the idea that I prepared myself to get “down votes” and criticism for going against the grain and posting what I’ve posted on a site like Twitchy. I knew I’d face potentially contentious responses, so I prepared myself. The NAACP knew their people might face authorities who demanded they had an ID when they arrested them, so they suggested (note: “suggested”, not “required”) that their people be prepared with an ID on their person.

          • AmandaHugginkiss

“NAACP knew their people might face authorities…”

            Their people??? SMH

BTW…look a little harder for the irony.

          • Joe Lastowski

Any group that organizes a protest needs to think of the protesters as “their people”. That’s just responsible organizing. Note the other points about reporting outsiders who try to join the group. They’re just using time-honored tactics to ensure that their message is conveyed in the best way possible, and not diluted by agitators who might try to infiltrate and cause problems (as has been seen in many protests throughout history).

          • RememberSekhmet

You mean like the moby protestors who showed up to Tea Party rallies with nasty signs? Y’all get so pissy when the same tactics get used on you. Waa waa.

          • RememberSekhmet

Dude, it’s not the 60s anymore. The cops don’t bust heads unless trespass occurs or violence breaks out.

          • stargater1

FYI, NC is NOT a state where its a misdemeanor to not have ID.

    • RememberSekhmet

They are protesting an ID requirement, and requiring the same sort of ID to do so that they could use to vote.

    • ilovelindzy

Shhh.. its not like the request right below it has something to do with being arrested too (keeping your medications in their containers, having them out of them is illegal)… but hey, you wouldn’t want silly logic and reasoning skills to kill their fun would ya ?
      lmao.

  • Tom Armstrong

I guess they just want legal voters to show up. All illegal voters should remain in hiding until the next election.

  • RememberSekhmet

There’s that leftie “stuck in 1965” vibe to the instructions as well. Because of COURSE the cops are going to turn firehoses and dogs on you just for marching peacefully, right? So just prepare to be arrested for no reason, right? Got any tips for achieving that perfectly poufy bouffant, and any girdle advice for the ladies?

  • Casca

Wow ! I just read this story on HuffPoo !

    Oh wait- no I didn’t….

  • kmne68

Many seem to be missing the bigger point. For decades people of this same philosophy have been telling others to keep their morality to themselves. Yet, they do not see the hypocrisy in themselves seeking to impose their morality on others.

  • Arkuy The Great

You need a photo ID to pick up your SNAP cards from the Transitional Assistance office. You need a photo ID to cash your AFDC checks. The folks who are so poor as to be unable to get photo IDs must have them in order to take advantage of programs for the poor. Yeah, I am still trying to figure out this logic myself.

    • CripesAmighty

Right. You’ve identified the catch-22. None of what you’ve described however, is a constitutional right. Voting is.

      • Peter Johnson

Well, the Constitution of North Carolina requires the general assembly to enact laws governing the registration of voters. That is exactly what they did.

      • Arkuy The Great

What I have just pointed out is that the whole discrimination argument against requiring a photo ID to vote is moot. Accordingly, as a practical matter, such laws do not impact the Constitutional right to vote.

        • CripesAmighty

Wrong again, Cletus. Sec. 5 of the VRA deems that any measure that has a ‘disproportionate impact’,( regardless of intent )on enumerated minorities’ abllity to exercise the constitutional right to vote, is prohibited. What was struck down, was the ‘pre-clearance’ requirement in Sec. 2.

          • Arkuy The Great

Way to miss the point, Chauncey. The portion of the VRA that was struck down had nothing to do with ID requirements.

  • Ryan Johnson

NAACP supports “abortion rights?” Abortion is the number one killer of blacks. Thanks for being down with “the people”, NAACP.

In other words, f.ck off and I can’t believe I once supported you.

    • Maryland_Malcontent

The Boondocks said that the top 2 killers of blacks were pork chops and FEMA… :)

      • Ryan Johnson

        eh, 2 and 3…

        • Maryland_Malcontent

Huey points out, in the episode where Grandad buys new shoes, that FEMA is #1 & pork chops are #2. #3 was, well, the point of that episode lol.

  • Resist_Tyranny

NAACP replaces the KKK as the number 1 hate group in America.

    • Ryan Johnson

In the technical sense, I may even have to agree. The KKK wants blacks aborted. The NAACP is supposed to be for blacks… and they want blacks to keep being aborted.

      That’s worse.

  • ToyZebra

I was at a pro-life march recently. We didn’t get a list of do’s and don’ts. We knew what to do. We didn’t have marshalls or captains babysitting us either.

  • LoggerheadShrike

Like the other parts of the list, like knowing your bus number or not being rude to elderly people, this is simply a good idea. You can run into trouble if you get injured or arrested and don’t have any ID on you, and these things can happen in marches, especially ones that are likely to be attacked.

The author’s written his article in such a way to make people think that they’re turning away people who don’t have ID at the march … I guess he’s just so desperate to find someone even more dense than him that he just makes them up. Or he’s too dumb to understand context. It’s got to be one or the other!

  • Alaina DeGuire

Protesters routinely get hassled by and/or arrested so it is SOP to bring ID. Blow things out of proportion much?

    • Peter Johnson

Nope we are pointing and laughing the appropriate amount :)

  • Invictvs

    LOL

  • Unknown User

I just want to point a couple things out.

They are suggesting, not requiring, you bring an ID.
Yes there is a certain irony in that ( I’m pretty sure this would be irony in its most technical sense)

It is more for situations where someone is hurt or gets arrested.

Not saying it isn’t ironic or stupid to protest the need for ID to vote, just sort of pointing out the why they think they need ID

    • cowcharge

Writing “DO” is not a recommendation.

      • Unknown User

DO is not MUST it’s a simple do’s and don’t list. There is no “Must present ID before boarding a bus” etc. Again I am sure this is for the “in event of being arrested, detained, or injured” type of thing.

        • cowcharge

Make all the excuses you want for their oh-so-predictable hypocrisy.

        • cowcharge

The fact remains that if they can’t possibly come up with an ID to vote, indeed that is a violation of their civil rights, then they sure as hell can’t come up with one to protest. Unless they’re liars or hypocrites, or both. My money’s on both.

  • Den-Cat

How is the irony not self evident? …just don’t get liberals, not even a smidgen.

  • tracymae

Wouldn’t they be disenfranchising some of their members?

  • Adam Johnson

They forgot a “Do Not”. Do Not release this list to conservative media outlets, thus creating a P.R. nightmare we will have difficulty spinning our way out of.

I suspect they will say these were all recommendations and requirements, but I’m betting that in reality they enforce all of them. Especially “Do direct media inquiries to spokespersons” (also known as the morons who now have to spin this nightmare).

    • Adam Johnson

*recommendations and NOT requirements*. Sorry, typing too fast.

  • Eddie frOly

Why is it racist to make sure you show a photo ID to vote but it’s not for you to pickup your welfare/Hud/or other government assistance you are getting? Either they both are or neither are. If they both are then eliminate welfare because believe it or not like it or not we have a massive voter fraud problem in this country. If we didn’t the left wouldn’t be working so hard to stop ID requirements. If we don’t have a problem then someone tell me how more than one county in multiple states had over 100% voter turnout. And don’t give me some c och and bull story about “well those numbers don’t take into account registration at the polls” when only a handful of places do that and no where should in the first place. Secondly the person would still show up on the final tally as a registered voter. We have a problem that needs fixed.

    • Jimmy

As a resident of an inner city neighborhood I can tell you how my voting district achieved 114% voter turnout. Simple, people actually showed up and voted, the local Dem.Party became complacent on the folks not voting so they started voting for them, this wasn’t a real problem until Obama came along and the residents actually went to the voting booths and voted, but only after the Dems voted for them, and don’t say complain, it would be safer to complain about the local drug dealer to the police than it is to complain about party politics. BTW, our local Republican party has been aware and fine with this practice for decades, since they look upon us as animals they see no reason to complain about the zoo keepers and upset the deals they’ve made with each other. This isn’t a Republican versus Democrat society, for anyone paying attention it’s us versus them and we’re losing badly.

      • Jake Bradford

The problem is the entrenched political class at national, state and municipal levels. But I bet what you say is going on, is going on in many cities. There was SO much turnout last election it looked very strange.

        • Thomas Dobbins

“Record” turnout but the total votes cast were lower than in 2004 & 2008…

  • Stephen Henry

North Carolina’s Moral Monday Movement Kicks Off 2014 With a Massive Rally in Raleigh

………… and enacted the country’s worst voter suppression law, which mandates strict voter ID, cuts early voting and eliminates same-day registration, among other things.

State lawmakers last year passed a bill that will require voter identification at the polls in 2016, eliminate the first seven days of early voting and end same-day voter registration among other changes.

If today’s rally was any indication, the Moral Monday movement will be bigger and broader in 2014. An estimated 15,000 activists attended the HKonJ rally last year, bringing thirty buses; this year, the NC NAACP estimated that 80,000–100,000 people rallied in Raleigh, with 100 buses converging from all over the state and country. It was the largest civil rights rally in the South since tens of thousands of voting rights activists marched from Selma to Montgomery in support of the Voting Rights Act.

The NAACP is collecting the photo IDs so they can do some photoshopping. Each participant who hands in a photo ID will be given four more IDs, only to be used for voting purposes, of course.

  • Yusuf A Muhammad

I was under the impression that ID was suggested in case the marcher was arrested for some reason during the march. In that case the marcher would not be held in custody until positive identification could be proven.

  • http://www.almarquardt.com/ almarquardt

Funny how they’re calling it the Moral March, when these same people screamed that we “couldn’t legislate morality” 15-20 years ago.

    • CripesAmighty

No, not ‘morality’ in the global sense. What is objectionable is using Big Government to enforce primitive religious editcs.

The term is being retrieved from dimwits who hijacked and conflated it with medieval codes rooted in infantile superstition.

      • http://www.almarquardt.com/ almarquardt

Oooh, big words (although you misspelled ‘edict’)!

I would consider you more intelligent than some except you tried to bolster your argument with insults to those who believe in a higher power.

What I want to know is what is primitive about laws against murder, adultery, and bearing false witness to name a few? Did you know those are mentioned in many a book of superstitions (read: Bible)?

I don’t mind being called infantile for my faith, however; it’s in fact a compliment, for Jesus told us that the Kingdom of God belongs to those with a child-like faith. Thank you for noticing.

FOR THOSE NOT PAYING ATTENTION: Melowese Richardson of Madisonville, Ohio was convicted of 4 counts of voter fraud (originally charged with 8 counts, plead no contest to 4) for voting 8 times in 2008, 11 & 12. She was an OHIO POLL WORKER. She was sentenced on 7/9/13 to 6 year in jail. Check Cincinnati Enquirer for more details.
For any other non-believers because this is just one case (in spite of her being a POLL WORKER), Google Voter Fraud convictions and you will get pages of them. You just don’t hear because lame stream media doesn’t want you to know illegals are voting and fraud is occurring.

You are a socialist – worry about your own potty party and quit trying to change the subject.

  • RememberSekhmet

Only a fool goes around without some form of ID. If you drive without your license on you, I swear cops smell that or something. If you walk to the corner store with your money and cards, they are usually in your wallet, which also tends to hold….your ID. At any time of the day, you could witness a crime. The cops will want to see an ID when taking a statement from you. All American citizens have that drilled into them, of all colors. You won’t believe the naturalized citizens happy to carry their certificates of naturalization. Only four people in the entire state of Texas got that special Voter ID. Nobody to date has applied for a permanent exemption to photo ID under Texas law. Existing, living voters have ID.

    • Arkuy The Great

“Only four people in the entire state of Texas got that special Voter ID. Nobody to date has applied for a permanent exemption to photo ID under Texas law. Existing, living voters have ID.”

And that should be game-set-match on the entire issue!

      • BAW

Last report I saw it was into double digits, 12 or 15 or so. And yes, I’m sure if Eric Holder does challenge our Voter ID law it will be in evidence. Not only how few people actually needed a Voter ID but also that there were mobile units send out to “under served” areas just to issue Voter IDs. There were Driver’s License offices open on Saturdays, special hours, just to issue Voter IDs.

Yeah, the left “estimates” that hundreds of thousands of voters don’t have ID is turning out to be as baseless as everything else they say. Reality and facts prove it’s nothing but nonsense and lies.

They ARE Godless! Would Jesus deny foodstamps? Would he deny health care (to lepers, especially!),; to anyone? Would he protect the rich at the expense of the poor?

    • http://www.almarquardt.com/ almarquardt

Nor did Jesus say that government should provide food stamps, healthcare, et al to the poor by way of taxing those that actually produce wealth. Nowhere did he say being rich in and of itself was a sin. What he did say is YOU (meaning you and I as individuals and as a church) must take care of the poor, the infirm, the orphan and the widow. What he did say is those who are given much have a greater responsibility to take care of those with less (again by choice, not government mandated). Maybe you should actually read Jesus’ words before making blanket statements about what constitutes being a Christian.

      • DeborahPE

ABSOLUTELY! Jesus took care of the POOR and SICK, and as Christians we strive to do the same — BUT we should not be expected to subsidize the shiftless.

    • CainCan

Who (Name, please) denied food stamps or health care to anyone? See, this is the problem: People like you get your ‘facts’ from the MSM. You believe everything you hear. Just like they promoted all this “FREE Healthcare” people were going to be getting with Obamacare and liberals went crazy thinking they won something free. But the truth is, the poor have always been receiving free healthcare in the US. You never realized that hospitals cannot refuse treatment for inability to pay? Well, look it up, Einstein. Also look up that now, with Obamacare, the people who always enjoyed free healthcare will now have to pay – or be fined. If they don’t pay their fine, the IRS will take it out of their tax refund. • Ronald Tankersley

Nope, you can’t fix this kind of stupid even with Duct Tape!

  • Tom Charters

Leftest, socialist, communist, american politician are all the same.

  • BAW

Odd that your little group of 5 that’s intended to represent millions, I immediately thought one of these is not like the others. But then I can’t think of any way in which everyone of them is exactly the same. Oh, except, of course, in the most important way. The only important thing. They all disagree with you and therefore they are, in your mind, exactly the same. If it weren’t so sad it would be funny.

  • GerGOP

It’s so hilarious, literally couldn’t stop laughing.

In other news: Hello @Twitchy from Germany! :)

  • CainCan

Of course the protesters can “afford” to have an ID – they are all a bunch of privileged white college kids fighting for the rights of the poor, ignorant black folks who, they assume are too stupid to get or can’t afford, identification. In other words, Completely oblivious to the fact that they, themselves, are the REAL Racists.

  • CainCan

I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to hear your examples of hate & bigotry that Cruz spews. Just one would actually be enough.

  • CainCan

Here are just a few of the folks who will be at the march.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sx2scvIFGjE

      Idiots. Please stop breeding.

Anything Rev. Willie Barber gets behind is bound to be infused with an unhealthy amount of stupid. And sure enough, he did not disappoint.

In response to your first comment…

  • Lesley Space

Ii don’t understand the “racism” part if everyone is required to have an ID. I could see if just whites, or blacks, or any other would have to and not everyone, but if all are required, isn’t it stupid to call that “racism?”

    • Lertha Muttz

That’s not the point. Everything is racist in the mind of the blacks.

  • vamom1

This is Protesting 101. For those of you who have never actually gone to a protest, and run the risk of being arrested: if you *are* arrested, things are much easier on you legally if you have a photo ID. Old school. In this particular case it is ironic, but the right to vote without an ID is what they are trying to protect.

  • mfrazee29

Hypocrisy is such standard operating procedure for our liberal friends who just know so much that isn’t so that they can see no extraordinary irony in requesting people to bring ID to a protest protesting ID’s. Fabulous don’t you think?

  • Infinite_Indeterminism

Mit Hinblick auf Ihrer hitlerschen Beitrag:

Leider muß ich Ihnen enttäuschen – Herr Cruz würde in einen solchen
Zusammenhang höchstens verhaftet werden (und dann natürlich
    abtransportiert…)

    I’m sure they’ll find out it’s George Bush’s fault.

Irony, it is a beautiful thing.

  • Coitarque

This is sensationalism. I don’t feel like I should have to go into detail to explain why a suggestion to bring a photo ID to a protest and requiring a photo ID to vote is not the same thing. Yeah – it’s ironic and kind of funny, but come on. Surely this level of willful ignorance is not genuine.

    • William2010

Coltarque said, “This is sensationalism. Yeah – it’s ironic and kind of funny, but come on. Surely this level of willful ignorance is not genuine.”

      This is sensationalism?

      On whose part?

      The protest organizers?

      The protesters?

      The entire lot of them?

Yes, protesting the requirement of presenting authentic Idenitification to ensure that every vote is an authentic, legitimate vote, everyone is who they claim to be, and ensuring that every voter is a registered, legal, legitimate voter – US is sensationalism.

Many of those who travel to the protests from other parts of the state or nation were required, and did present, ID along the way for various purposes, such as lodging, purchases, reservations, and more.

In the recent year or two a woman from Arizona, who was painted as poor, oppressed, and a participant in opposing voter ID requirements, somehow was able find the means to pay for all the required travel, food, and lodging for several days, to present ID to reserve an airline reservation, hotel reservation, pass through security several times along the way, pay for items for which ID was required, pass through US Capital security with an ID, pass through security outside the Congressional conference room in which she was invited to speak, but she was protesting the use of an ID to vote.

      OUTRAGEIOUS!

The part of US citizen and the ability to contribute to the operation of the government and the flow of the US citizenry, services, values, morals, and mores is a valuable exercise of civic duty and Freedom and Liberty in our nation. It is right, just, and important that only those who have an actual vested interest in the USA, security, prosperity, Freedom, and Liberty vote, and that the vote is not polluted, or stolen by disinterested parties, unlawful invaders, and persons intent on circumventing our rights and freedoms.

Imagine a High School holding Student Council elections. Imagine three or four other schools coming in, entering the building, and casting votes which oppose the general concerns of the students who attend the school. Is that good, fair, or just?

No. The elections are held so that the students can protect and promote the interests and concerns of the student body as a group.

Suppose the janitors, security, teachers, principle, all snuck in and voted, repeatedly, cancelling out the issue concerns of the student body. Is that fair, just, and legitimate?

      No.

Suppose al Qaeda, Russia, China, Venezuela, Iran, and Pakistan shipped people in to the USA to vote in our elections in an engineered strategy to rig the election against the concerns of the US citizenry, and into the favor of our enemies, those who would love to make us submissive, weak, and ruined. Would you like that?

We are supposed to be a peoples of one man, or one woman, and one vote. That vote is a sacred gem to many US citizens, including many of us US military veterans who knew that we gave up our own lives, or give up our own lives, and, if captured, our security and comfort, to protect our wonderful nation. The thought of fraud, non-citizens, illegal invaders – trespassers polluting the vote, or just getting an opportunity to vote in our elections when they are not really US citizens is abhorrent.

When I served in the US Military, even as a naieve, young 17 year old kid, fresh out of high school, we had base alerts. On numerous occasions I was told to guard buildings, hangars, truck storage garages, warehouses, entranceways, and other areas, ordered to prevent anyone, not matter if they appeared to be an officer, even a general, admiral, or other, not matter WHO they were, into the building, or the area I was assigned.

At 6’2″ tall, around 170 to 180 lbs I found myself required to stand against huge men with officer’s bars, high ranking enlisted personnel with a gazillion stripes on their shoulders-sleeve, and put up with their severe, abusive, red faced temper tantrums and deafening, shouting, demanding protests as I forbade them entrance.

Protecting the legitimate, authentic, sacred vote of all citizens, preventing fraud, preventing non-citizens from casting a vote in a nation in which they do not possess citizenship, preventing “voters” from voting numerous times under various names, in several voting locations, using names of dead people, people who were registered Republicans, or Democrats, but somehow are now alive and are voting opposite their registered party affiliation, and so on, is an important concern and should be safeguarded.

Let voter ID laws be strictly enforced. It is good for the individual voter, good for the election process, good for prosperity, Security, Freedom, Liberty, expression of our civic right and duty, and good for the nation as a whole.

      • Coitarque

This is what one would call a ‘tanget’.

      • Coitarque

Are you out of your mind? This is exactly what I am talking about.

The fact of the matter is that there is no reason to believe that people are trying to game the system by voter fraud. The poor urban population is by far the most affected. It is blatantly obvious why the GOP wants to keep it this way.

        • Oysteria

“The fact of the matter is that there is no reason to believe that people are trying to game the system by voter fraud. ”

That’s where you’re incorrect. Just saying something doesn’t make it true.

          • Coitarque

well then where is the proof? the burden of proof is yours when you make an assertion, that is, ‘people are trying to game the system’.

      • Coitarque

Of course, all of this is beside the point. My original comment was aimed at illustrating the blatant lack of critical thinking when equating a suggestion to bring a photo ID to a protest (because, you know, you might have contact with law enforcement) and protesting against the requirement when voting.

      • SSix2

        Perfect.

    • SSix2

” I don’t feel like I should have to go into detail to explain why a suggestion to bring a photo ID to a protest and requiring a photo ID to vote is not the same thing.”
Actually, I think you need to go into detail why they are not the same thing.

      • Coitarque

One is a suggestion and the other is a requirement. Are you seriously that dense?! No one is arguing that it’s not a good idea to have an ID – rather that, although it’s nice to have an ID, it should not be a requirement to exercise the right to vote. I can’t help you if you can’t understand that.

        Seriously grasping at straws here.

  • Guardian

The insanity of the left soars above the crowd again, requiring that all who participate in the rally against requiring ID to vote, be required to carry an ID at all times during the march. ROTFLMBO – can’t make this sh*t up!

  • disqus_rlmKVnaKGS

LMAO The stupidity of the left is infinite I swear. Photo ID is necessary wherever you go! Here in PA you can’t leave your home without proper ID. If you do, and a cop wants to be a jerk, he can hold you until you are identified. Then fine you for not having ID. When we as a state opted for voter ID it just made sense. We all have ID’s on us anyway, so logically the only people who would have a problem with it, are foreign invaders who don’t belong here anyway! Maybe we could catch a few more and arrest them and put them on chain gangs to work for the community they were parasitizing.

    • Lertha Muttz

      Ah, that’s racist!!

  • MartiniShark

I had one member explain to me this is unfairly restrictive because of the “hassle” to get out of work and spend money to obtain the proper ID.

I stopped them in their tracks by pointing out that the ID they used to get the job would be sufficient for the voter ID.

  • ember

    Liberals give me a headache.

  • Cotten_Fields

They must be worried they won’t be able to tell the marchers apart.
